Mama's Vegetarian Flafel

This new Mama’s shop has no relation to the old one that closed down in 2019. The old Mama was a legendary spot that I had been reminiscing for years. So when I heard the new Mama’s was opening under a different owner, I decided to try it. I was honestly blown away! The flavors are amazing and I find them so similar to the old Mama’s. I can safely confirm that MAMA’S IS BACK! This is incredible news for us that have been living in the area for years! I want to thank the new owner for bringing this institution back and filling the holes in our hearts!

Great food! I got the falafel sandwich. I think it has 6 pieces in it? It was stuffed! Make sure you stop at the condiment bar, the pickles are amazing! Overheard someone in line ask, the menu is 100% vegan.

We served Mama’s Falafel for our holiday party and it was a big hit. The perfectly crisp falafel balls on fresh pita lathered with creamy tahini and hummus, layered with lightly coated fried eggplant and garnished with pickled accouterments made for a delicious flavorful lunch. We loved it and will be back!

I'm obsessed with Mama's Falafel! The falafel is crispy, flavorful, and addictive. The hummus and tahini sauce are creamy and delicious. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Portion sizes are generous, and prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Whether you're a falafel fanatic or just looking for delicious Middle Eastern cuisine, Mama's is a must-visit in Philly!

The falafel is perfectly crispy and flavorful. The tahini has a great consistency—not watery at all—and the hummus is absolutely incredible. It feels like home with every bite. Amazing food paired with an amazing experience!

I ordered a fried eggplant sandwich in pita. All ingredients were fresh and tasted great. The prices seem lower than when it opned. The sandwich was $9, this was just the second time I went since they opened / reopend. The place is very clean and the staff was amazingly friendly. They made the sandwich right in front of me asked whether or not I wanted each condiment before putting it in. I got exactly what I wanted. I will be back.

Mama's is back! The felafel and pita are as good as ever. New owner and staff, so they're not churning out the orders at super speed, but they're nice and did a good job. New floors and furniture so the place looks a little more polished.
