"Not far from Capri’s piazzetta, the island’s fashionable centre, this restaurant is accessed via a dark, narrow tunnel that is part of medieval Capri, which makes the dining room’s bright interior with its views of the Bay of Naples even more of a surprise. Chef Raffaele Amitrano creates two different types of cuisine here: traditional dishes from Campania at lunchtime, and more elaborate and creative options (yet still very much influenced by the region) in the evening." - Michelin Inspector

The staff was wonderful and very inviting! I felt special here, the atmosphere was perfect. With a view of the coast, a nice breeze, good music and of course-- delicious seafood, this was a great experience. Extensive wine menu, and delicious desserts including house-made marshmallows! Yum!

Very elegant and amazing food just missing “a je ne sais quoi.” Very friendly staff from the front door to the end. Hope to try it again before I can see an amazing place. Italian food.

We stumbled on this restaurant on a rainy day in Capri. Very attentive service, delicious food. An absolute must for fine dining.

Omg this restaurant is fabulous!! The food, the service and the views definitely deserve 5 stars. Fine dining done so well and the experience is so satisfying, absolutely worth the price. The staff took great care of us and the head waiter’s recommendations were delizioso! Highly recommend :)

Google
A fun place in Capri to take in the beautiful view. I would recommend going around sunset. The food is the best I had my whole trip in Capri and I was restaurant hopping! I would order the squid linguine, it was one of the most creative dishes I have had in a long time:) Service was impeccable and waiters were very friendly :)

Mediocre food ! Nothing special and super expensive for the portion. Wine selection very high price £99 is the least expensive bottle of wine and it’s not good.

A must see and be in Capri, wonderful service and food despite some small hick up. The major d'homme look like Arthur in Passengers movie. Fish of the day was excellent Baba au rhum was excellent too.

Amazing place through narrow streets of Capri, very close from la Piazzetta, delicious dishes, stunning view and lovely staff. You will get an unforgettable experience, savouring real taste of the local cuisine.

Yelp
A very classy restaurant--expensive for us unclassy people! We ordered two dishes: Suckling pig and caramelized pineapple and prawn-stuffed ravioli. The ravioli was a disappointment, especially at €30. It was beautiful to look at, but the red sauce tasted like tomato paste to me, and the stuffing was not fresh or appetizing-- our worst Ravioli in Italy after more than two weeks. Even the Takeaway ravioli was better. OK are the The table bread was nothing special, served plain without anything. Red Wine by the glass started at €15! The restaurant has a gorgeous view of the Capri Sea, But the service was unfriendly, unsmiling, and we did not feel welcome at the restaurant. Next time we'll look for a "hole in the wall "

Yelp
One of the most disappointing meals I've had. It was not busy around the time we went. In fact, there were 2 tables including myself, yet they over charged our bill (we only ordered 2 small entrees). When asked to view the prices from the menu they seemed flustered, scrambling to find one. If the food was good I wouldn't mind but an extra €30 charged on 6 pieces of ravioli is excessive. Glad we noticed this, probably happens to a lot of tourists

Yelp
Food is adequate but service very spotty not deserving of the Michelin star. Waited over an hour for dessert and almost as long for an espresso. There are many better options in Capri and the people at Michelin need to reevaluate the one star.

Yelp
This restaurant came recommended on multiple sites. Unfortunately, it is a tourist trap. They do not care about taking care of their customers, no good service nor making and serving good food. We spoke to the manager and the hostess regarding the slow service (and other issues) and they did not have any concern or care to hear our constructive criticism, as i believe they have no interest in being a good restaurant, just in charging for mediocre (at best) food and turning tables. The manager also seemed to be a Putin fan and yelled at us concerning his appreciation that Putin would take care of the issue. "Tell Joe Biden to send bombs and Putin will fix it"

Yelp
This restaurant does not deserve to be in the Michelin guide at all, let alone hold a star. Little of what we got had flavors that worked together. The lobster might as well have been a lump of unseasoned meat, the cod was held up by one of its two sauces, and the ravioli and eggplant were as good as their counterparts from a restaurant on the docks. At any rate, I am left to surmise that either the Michelin guide has fallen into some serious hardship or that several of its inspectors owed someone at the restaurant a weighty favor. Or, perhaps, contrary to its raison d'être, the Michelin system means something different and inferior in Europe than it does the States. Whatever the particular reason(s) here, it pains me to say this as someone who has long believed in the guide: the star means nothing here. There are better restaurants in Capri, in Italy, and in the world--by any imaginable metric of the remotest relevance to a place that purports to call itself a restaurant. Truly and utterly disappointing.

Yelp
Got the extended tasting menu (6 dishes) with the wine pairing. 3/6 dishes were big hits with me, and the other half I could've lived without. The seafood risotto was really good, roast suckling pig with caramelized pineapple nice and crispy, and dessert was tasty. Didn't like the texture of the cuttlefish tagliatelle, it was slimy to me (my partner loved it tho). The shellfish with black and white creamed potatoes looked really pretty, but the creamed potatoes tasted like totally unseasoned mashed potatoes. Meh. Gratinated fish roll = over it. So, when the food was good, it was great. Otherwise, meh. Service was not what I would've expected from a €€€€ restaurant. It was similar to what we got in every other standard restaurant in Italy (compared to the other €€€€ places we've been, it didn't come close to rising to the occasion in this department). The wine pairing was lazy. Frequently they used the same wine with 2 dishes, and no explanation of the pairing rationale. We finished our water and asked for another bottle and didn't get one for about 45 mins. It wasn't for lack of staff (plenty were standing around doing nothing), or lack of paying for service (15% service charge already was included in your bill). 4 Star food, 3 Star at most service, Michelin Star price = 3.5 stars from me. Rounding down to 3 as I'm not feeling generous.

Yelp
This place is just off the main road. The atmosphere is as good as the view! I ordered the tagliterre with white ragu. She got the pappardelle with mussels and zucchini in a white sauce. We were served a nice little appetizer with salmon and a tomato with sauce (kind of like bruschetta). Every dish is about 22-30 euros. The service was outstanding. They explained the difference in the pasta very well.

Yelp
Where the chic crowd go after the tourists eat early. This is a lovely place. We went as guests and had a party of 6. Plates are small but full of flavor, almost tapas style. You don't walk out rolling with pasta belly and then try to go clubbing. Service for us was excellent as we were with insiders. Price is steep. What makes it not 5 stars? I fear if we weren't with the hosts and just part of the seasonal pell mell, service may not be top notch which I spied with my little eye at the neighboring table. Wine list incredible; so penny pinch and try to hold out for a later seating.

Yelp
Thank you Mamma for one of the finest meals I've had in Italy or anywhere. The tasting menu with wine accompaniment was exquisite. As it was off season, I was the only person in the restaurant and was dining alone. The service was well paced, attentive, and never rushed. Out of 8 courses there was one I didn't care for based on personal preference (the preparation was perfect, just not for me) and one dish that was flawed (the mixed pasta with seafood soup was undercooked-beyond al dente). The gnocchi with clams and mussels was absolutely incredible, and the pork was beyond expectations. The restaurant itself is beautiful, stylish, and clean. Highly recommended and far superior to nearly any other dining establishment in the area.

Yelp
First off this restaurant is wildly overpriced for average sea food, but the view was nice and it was close to my hotel. I go to pay my bill and they have added a 20eu service charge to the bill. This is not a tip for the staff, this is a bullsh*t fee they add to the bill so they put plates and silverware on your table. If I had known, I would have never eaten at this mediocre restaurant. Do not order the rubbery octopus or the scaly fish of the day. Highly do not recommend.

Yelp
On a recent visit to Capri we stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for a small pizzeria, which turned out to be closed. Never having heard of it we were drawn in by the clean design (white, teal and tan beach tones plus a circular table heaped with fresh produce) and the large window from the street into the kitchen. The hostess was kind but when we inquired about having dinner we were told they did not open for another 45 minutes. We left and had a nice dinner at another restaurant but decided to make a reservation for the following evening. I am really glad we did. Mamma is an expensive restaurant but it was worth the price as both the food and service were very, very good. Staff was friendly and attentive and went out of their way to answer our questions. When we asked about the soup of the day, a zucchini and tomato soup, Marco, the head waiter, brought over the zucchini for us to see and then brought out tasting bowls of the soup for the table. It was delicious. We were also treated to a shrimp amuse-bouche which was one of the many touches that made the meal such a good experience. Highlights of the meal included a risotto with a sauted piece of Cod and dried figs which added a sweet note to the savory basil risotto. Our appetizers were delicious, and my entree was quite good. The entree could have used a hint of acid but I really have very few complaints. For dessert I had a pistachio semi-fredo with a citrus sauce. I don't know that I would have put the two together but they paired beautifully. We were also given little dessert bites along with the check, candied hazelnuts, citrus gelees and little almond cakes. Lovely. While we dined a family came in with a small child, probably under 7 years old. She was not very well behaved and the parents did not seem interested in controlling her at all. I mention this because the wait staff did really well with her even though she was sort of out of control. I think this restaurant would be fine for well behaved children who have an adventurous palette but it may be best to leave younger kids at home. The restaurant has a lovely porch running the length of the restaurant that I could see being fantastic in warmer weather. All in all a really fantastic restaurant to treat yourself to while on Capri.

Yelp
My girlfriend was handed a menu without prices, and I (a man) was given a menu with prices. The establishment did not know anything about us or our situation; they just assumed based on gender, alone. This is horribly sexist and inappropriate, and I encourage the restaurant to discontinue this sexist practice. That being said, the food was very good; elegant, delicate, and beautifully plated.

Yelp
Excellent! Great service, beautiful view, spectacular menu and superb wines. A true gem. Loved it! We had the light lunch, two courses plus dessert menu for a very reasonable 30€! All home made, delicious, and beautiful creations by the chef. Will visit again!

Yelp
An amazing 7 course tasting menu comprised of mainly seafood paired with wine from our sommelier. The restaurant was nestled in the hills of Capri overlooking a breathtaking view during sunset. Service was stellar!

Yelp
Read the reviews here and so this was a must hit spot for us. Yes, it is pricier. Yes, it is a place that feels higher end. Yes, probably Americanized a bit as well. We wanted this to be a gem but we walked out feeling like it was average. My vote would be to visit the cheaper Italian restaurants up the road in the Plaza. I ordered the shrimp ravioli. It was ok- shrimp was fishy. The pasta was fresh! My wife ordered the tagliatelle-- grounded beef with fresh noodles. Noodles were awesome. Skip the meat. Pluses: bread was awesome-- we asked for olive oil and vinegar to dip our bread; this made the bread even more heavenly. Service was fabulous!

Yelp
Great service and great food. I liked it but didn't love it. The atmosphere is great and is a must try if in Capri.

Yelp
What a great local place to eat Pasta. Go hungry leave full and a friend in Mamma for life

Shiva G.

Yelp
Never going back. The food was so-so, service was by a couple of confused waiters. Kept bringing the wrong drinks. This was my 1st bad experience of 2 Michelin restaurants tried. I've lost my confidence in Michelin.

David A.

Yelp
The service started off very well however when the waiter Valentino realized we weren't up for the prix fix menu things went south quickly. The food was fair but the service was terrible. We have had other meals at the restaurant which were good and probably should have received a favorable review but the latest was so lacking that is was worthy of a negative post. Hopefully they can find an improved customer service experience but for the price I would look for other options first.

Yelp
when u go away to an island you want to sit and relax with an excellent meal and courteous service. we stumbled onto this gorgeous place by mistake. we were following a winding corridor and happened upon a tantalizing smell. following our noses we discovered this little piece of paradise. the food was excellent, the service extraordinary. marco was particularly charming, answering all of our questions and even went so far as offering us an extra dish. all in all an amazing experience and well worth the price.

Helen M.

Yelp
Amazing food! Wonderful, attentive staff especially Marco, the head waiter. The cuttlefish and shrimp antipasti dishes were out of this world - really tender and flavorful. The view was also great. This restaurant made our time in Capri even more special. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Amazing food in this modern and beachy restaurant. Food was almost as good as the view! Best Caprese salad ive ever had (no contest), great gnochi and delicious clam and fig rissotto. Don't miss it!
