What a lovely spot! I went into Mammoth Espresso to get some work done while I was in the neighborhood and was pleasantly surprised by the unique atmosphere. I had a delicious oat milk latte and loved the bar stools looking out the window, bright, airy, and perfect for a bit of people watching. The staff were great too. I’ll definitely be back!

Google
Stopped in yesterday morning, then again yesterday morning because our pour overs were so good, then again this morning. Three cups each so far for us and we've loved every one. I've really enjoyed the service and the friendliness of the staff as well. But most importantly, their pour overs are on point! Definitely going to work our way through their current offerings, and maybe buy some beans for home as well!

Google
Excellent place for morning cup of coffee. Great service, clean restrooms, calm atmosphere. Overall New Orlean does not match New York by coffee culture, but this place sure felt like I was in New York and my capuchin was extremely good, best in NOLA for sure.

Google
Cozy coffee shop that's entirely focused on good coffee and good vibes. I had an iced americano, the espresso was very smooth and not bitter or acidic at all. Definitely worth a try.

Google
Walked to this coffee shop that was just down the street from my hotel. Very nice setting with both indoor and outdoor seating, if weather permits. The coffee and espresso they offer are explained well on the menu as far as flavor ranges that they possess. They have drinks like teas and lattes you would expect to find here. I just got a regular coffee and it was freshly brewed. It tasted great and was not bitter and did not taste burnt. The service was good, fast, and friendly. Recommended stop for coffee, if you are in the area.

Google
As you walk right by the entrance, they know their coffee here for sure. Coffee lovers only. Tried the drip El Progreso from Colombia, excellent. Also, just reading the signature drinks is fun! Check them out.

Google
Good coffee and baristas know what they're doing. I got the El Portillo pour over and the vanilla latte (both hot). Both were very good. I appreciated the latte art. The barista on the register was slightly condescending but very knowledgeable. They have a wide variety of pour overs which I liked. I also appreciate the fact that they don't have an emphasis on dark roast at this shop. They roast the beans themselves right across the hall from the shop.

Google
Open every day at 7 a.m., this Warehouse District specialty coffee roaster is how I wish every specialty latte tastes. Their cinnamon French toast latte wasn't too sweet, allowing the quality of the coffee and flavors to stand out. My wife enjoyed her cardamom latte and our daughter LOVED the "Everything Is Awesome" drink just for kids (steamed milk dyed blue with vanilla and Lucky Charm marshmallows on top). If you like coffee tonics, order the "New" Old Fashioned. The cafe itself is designed well with seats inside, in the outdoor hallway, and outside. Service was friendly and efficient.

Yelp
First proper espresso drink I manage to find in NOLA. Beautiful place and properly made coffee drinks at reasonable price. Worth the walk from the typical tourist area just to get a decent coffee.

Yelp
Cute little coffee spot! I opted for a cortado and it was pretty tasty. The espresso tasted a bit on the burned side, but overall still good! The chocolate croissant was incredibly divine and I would love to have that again! Overall, great experience.

Yelp
People are NOT kidding about the bad attitudes at the counter. The wait as positively absurd. It took 20+ minutes to get a single simple drink. This is not the baristas' fault but management needs to hire more people. Irritatingly there were several other staff members across the hallway setting up their expanded space and working on their laptops. Maybe come help out the two people trying to work through a 20 drink deep backlog? The coffee itself was fine. Nothing to get excited about. Both espressos of the day were citrusy/sour I don't think I'll be back.

Yelp
Visited this place last summer and to this day, I still daydream about their cardamom cookie. It's not your ordinary cookie. It's like a chewy ginger cookie with a crispy crust. It's a bpugie cookie. If I ever make it back to NOLA, I'm definitely going back for this. The coffees are good too. Wakes you up. They had a sign that said "the coffee your parents warned you about." Anyway, try it and tell me all about it.

Yelp
The coffee itself is good. But they only serve one size and it's pretty small. The service is slow and the attitudes are terrible. Absolutely need a change of staff

Yelp
My friend and I were visiting Nola for the weekend. And stumbled upon this coffee shop that was down the street from our hotel. We didn't try any food because we were headed to brunch, but we did get a few drinks. She got a latte while I opted for a cortado. Service was friendly and fast. I love the ambiance of the shop. Plants and natural light shining through. Great music playing. Plenty of seating inside and outside. And additional tables on the street. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Is this a new trend I'm not familiar with?? This total disregard for customer service or any kind of basic pleasantries? The service is not what you would expect to find in a typical NOLA place. For that type of attitude, you need to be working in some snooty Seattle shop and the coffee would need to be way better. BB

Yelp
Went here today! I got a cappuccino! But it tasted like salty meat & not at all like coffee. I had to throw it away sadly. If the owner reads these reviews...why did my cappuccino taste like this? It smelled like coffee but did not taste as such, it was savory like a meatball.
google avatar

Yelp
Although this is my first review, I've been to mammoth several times within the last few years. The coffee and vibe are consistent. The shop is very cute, there aren't a lot of seats inside as it's very quaint, but there's outdoor seating too for overflow. They have a very clean restroom, good music, coffee beans for sale, and apparel. The service is good & fast too. I have no complaints & will continue to pop by!

Yelp
So good! I had a honey lavender iced latte and it was perfect, not too sweet but you could taste the flavors. The everything pinwheel was delicious. Will be back!
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
Latte is incredibly milky, the coffee/espresso used must be very weak in addition it took them 15 minutes to make my latte despite only 1 other customer in the store
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful little coffee shop! We strolled in because we were staying right across the street, love the walkable area all around here! We got a Cinnamon Toast Crunch iced latte which my daughter loved! It was creamy and sweet and did taste just like the cereal! I got a cappuccino which was perfect, great flavor and I added a touch of sugar and yum, delicious! We got an everything bagel pastry like a croissant stuffed with cream cheese also very tasty, eating in their cute shop with plants all around, made me happy!

Yelp
I got a mocha and matcha cake. rly good both not the best mocha ive ever had but it was good. the matcha cake shouldve been offered warm because it was really good but wouldve been better warm. great service very cute interior and places to sit.

Yelp
Solid service, excellent chai and latte. Nice quiet spot to chill. They also have some pretty cool merch.

Yelp
Happenstance brought me here and I'm so glad it did. I had sometime in between meetings and was looking for a quiet spot to get some work done. I intended to go to another coffee shop in the area, but while walking I came across this one which was several blocks closer to where my next meeting was and decided to try it out. When you walk in, you first hit a hallway and the actual coffee shop is off to the side. It sort of looks like it could be an office building with multiple suites. It's extremely cute on the inside--perfect mix of old and new. When I visit a coffee shop, if the music is right I could for sure pass some time there and the playlist here was perfect. A good mix of old and new hip hop, but of the chill variety, so it wasn't too distracting. The baristas were friendly and gave good suggestions for drinks since it was my first time in. I opted for an iced tea. I wanted it sweetened with honey, but they didn't have any which I thought was a little odd, but I enjoyed my drink regardless. They have large windows so there's lots of natural light which I love. It was pretty quiet for the most part for the hour or so that I was there. They had a few groups come in, but mostly just folks grabbing and going even though there's plenty of seating if you wanted to stay a while and the wi-fi is solid. I did peep on my way out that they appear to be expanding to the suite directly across the hall, so I'm excited to see what that will look like.

Yelp
Strolling along the West Side (I think) in search of that afternoon jolt, the pink chairs beckoned and the coffee didn't disappoint at Mammoth. Yes Mammoth stands for an overwhelming menu, but stick with it and the helpful baristas will explain anything for us pedestrian amateurs. I played it safe with the Cafe Au Lait. I believe this is coffee with "lait". In other words, hot milk. See, those friendly baristas would help you not feel like a moron for not knowing that "In Europe, café au lait stems from the same continental tradition as caffè latte". My daughter would promptly order the iced coffee, but not me. 95-degree day? I'm getting something hot. And this Au Lait was perfectly crafted, perfectly temperatured, perfectly presented, you're getting the point? I enjoyed my beverage in those pink chairs out front briefly before the trek back to reality. Too bad I couldn't try a scone or galette this time; I was saving carbs for some high-eatin' later in the day. Mammoth also means over-the-top attention to detail, so you won't get that speedy drive-through assembly line drink, but it will be perfectly completed with high standards. So take a breath and enjoy. Always several varieties of filter coffee for the less-craftie days, and I'll return as soon as possible for another Mammoth experience.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop with great coffee. Not too busy when I was there and looked like they had plenty of space to get some work done!

Yelp
Went here for an early iced pour over and an espresso. For the pour over, I had a Colombian coffee (Castillo, I think the name was). I had the Ethiopian duromino for the espresso. The espresso was awesome: vibrant and fruity. They are brewing madcap beans from Michigan--a great roaster that I've visited a few times when in Detroit. The space is not massive, but it is very comfortable. The area near the counter is cool and dark. They also have additional seating in the lobby area of the building. The staff was friendly and they took some extra time to redial in the espresso, which is rare and always appreciated. I will definitely return; their specials sound great, too.

Yelp
Mammoth is a great coffee shop! The space is cozy and really nice. The staff was friendly, as well. Perhaps most importantly, the coffee was some of the best I had while exploring the New Orleans specialty coffee scene; especially in terms of preparation! Cortados are always my go-to to gauge a shop, since it's often hard for too many baristas to get the milk temperature and texture right in smaller drinks, and a poor shot isn't masked with the small amount of milk. Well, the barista behind bar at Mammoth made a PERFECT cortado! The drink was ready to drink immediately, with a nice espresso shot, and a perfect texture (and clean latte art as a bonus)! I also had to try a shot of their single origin that was on bar, which also seemed to be prepared really well. The nice staff, and well-prepared drinks made with quality coffee in a chill environment, means I've found my go-to coffee shop the next time in New Orleans! Definitely check it out!

Yelp
Vibe- Cute coffee shop in New Orleans with about 6 seats outside and a bar with stools and 2 tables (some seating inside). There's a lot of greenery around the shop!! They also have some merch for sell (tote bags, shirts, etc.) Customer service- Amazing! The barista that took my order was great! Food/drinks- I got a hot matcha latte with oatmilk and vanilla, it was perfect. Parking- I walked here, but there is some street parking.
google avatar

Yelp
Mammoth Espresso is a great spot for a wonderful cup of coffee! I got a mocha while my husband got an iced americano. There weren't a ton of places to sit but we were able to find a table right outside of the shop and in the lobby of a building, so if you're planning on being there for a while, be prepared to adapt and find another place to work.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is more like a 3.5 out of 5 stars. This coffee shop was right across the airbnb we were staying at, so it was super convenient to get the much needed coffee in the morning. They have a lot of different types of coffee, teas, lattes and other types of drinks. We kept it simple and opted for the black coffee. However on the pour over coffee, they also have 7 or 8 different types. It was in the morning after a heavy night of drinking and i didn't want to read each options, and asked the baristas which one was the most popular. They mentioned the Francy Castillo was a good one to try. I know on the menu they mentioned different tasting notes, but maybe my taste buds are not that refined, because it just tasted like normal coffee to me. Parking is only street parking, and at times it may be hard to find parking in front. They do have seating inside as well as a few chair/tables outside.
google avatar

Rayid G.

Yelp
Excellent coffee. I didn't try a lot of coffee places other than mammoth and revelator but mammoth was definitely more consistent and better. Would definitely come back next time I'm in New Orleans
google avatar

Yelp
Came here as i was walking in the warehouse district. It was clean and nice and a charming little street with nothing much around but it was quiet and i was surrounded by locals which was good. I would not say, that it was warm hospitality i walked in (contrary to the business owners note on here) however it was ok and transactional. I ordered my capp. I was asked to advise if i wanted a lid on my to go cup (ha?) but i politely asked for it and left! Coffee itself was solid.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Excellent coffee, I had a latte which was top notch, friendly service. I pull my own espresso shots at home so am spoiled and am seldom impressed when I travel, however this place does it right!
google avatar

Jen A.

Yelp
Mammoth Espresso consistently shows up as one of the top coffee spots in NOLA, and I can see why! It's such a creative spot. The decor is neat, and they have flavor combinations I haven't seen anywhere else. The New Fashioned is super cool, and I appreciate their tea and matcha selection.
google avatar

Yelp
For a few years now, I've been on a quest to visit all of the coffee shops from Architectural Digest's list of most beautiful coffee shops from each state. When I started planning my trip to New Orleans, I knew I had to visit Mammoth Espresso. The coffee shop is located within walking distance from the French Quarter. They are inside another building and share a bathroom with neighboring businesses. I appreciated that they have both indoor and outdoor seating. Be aware that several of the tables outside are not even so they will wobble. The staff is friendly and I could tell they were passionate about coffee. During their down time I noticed them doing some coffee cupping to taste different beans. I wanted to try several coffees but narrowed it down to an iced pour over of their Nixon Adarme from Colombia. The menu listed the tasting notes as "pineapple upside down cake" so I had to try it. The lingering taste definitely reminded me of the caramelizad sugar of a pineapple upside down cake. I enjoyed it and it was a nice start to the day.

Yelp
Best coffee I've had in NOLA. I've had a few different types of pour overs here. I only tolerate black coffee if it's exceptional and this place definitely is. I was a half and half or latte gal forever, until I discovered how great properly prepared pour over could be. I've had coffee from Ethiopia, Costa Rica, Columbia and another Latin American blend, I believe Double Trouble. All were very good. I think my favorite was the Camilo Encizo, so far. The baked goods are superb as well. I had a cheesy scone, which was the perfect balance of lightly sweet with savory, not dry at all. They have a delicious chocolate chip cookie and the service is excellent. Very friendly and nicely designed with a comfortable vibe. Well worth going and hanging out for a bit.
google avatar

Nicole E.

Yelp
Stopped by to grab a latte and a tea for our road trip today. It's lightly drizzling out. No parking. My husband said it's a pass.
google avatar

Yelp
I came to Mammoth Espresso on the recommendation of a friend of mine who is a coffee connoisseur; furthermore, I really enjoyed my experience here. Mammoth Espresso sits right in the heart of the Warehouse District of New Orleans in a minimalistic yet adorable space; I was a big fan of the pink furniture that sits outside. Service was fast and friendly, and my iced lavender latte really hit the spot and got me together for the long day of exploring around NOLA that I had ahead of me. The next time I find myself in NOLA I will definitely come back to Mammoth Espresso to get my caffeine fix and try more of their coffee. PS: They sell some cute merch inside. I was able to grab some stickers for my friends back in Hampton Roads.
google avatar

Ellery D.

Yelp
Dropped in here on my way to the post office. Love it. They have some unique flavors; I may have to try the golden latte next. I got the cardamom latte with almond milk at the suggestion of the barista, and the flavor is excellent. Has just the right balance of spice and sweetness. The prices are a tad high but you can tell the quality matches. I was surprised to learn they've been there 5 years. Never noticed them!
google avatar

Yelp
Cool little espresso spot - a great pairing with a burrito from down the street at Juan's

Sarah B.

Yelp
This was a 7 dollar iced vanilla latte with oat milk which is funny because it also looks to be about 7 sips total LOL. Unfortunately, I only got to 3 sips before tossing it. The latte was extremely sour, and the oat milk started separating as soon as I took off and fell in chunks to the bottom of the cup. I've seen great reviews on their other coffee options, however, my experience was not the greatest to put it politely. There are so many awesome local coffee shops in the New Orleans area that charge the same price for tasty iced lattes for a way bigger size. To clarify: this is only a review on the drink I purchased, I'm sure they have other great options. The place was cute, and seems to be locally owned. The service was relatively prompt, and they were very welcoming. I wouldn't advise against going there, but I would suggest ordering something they're more known for.
google avatar

Teresa K.

Yelp
Exceptionally bad service, exceptional coffee :) The coffee really is amazing but be ready to get your coffee served with a lot of attitude.
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
A little taste of Brooklyn in New Orleans. There wasn't anything about this place that lets you know you're in New Orleans in the slightest. But if you're looking for that cute coffee shop edit vibe. With adorable merch. Tasty drinks. Single origin pour over options. Cute millennial targeted wifi password. Aloof barista. If I could have done my trip there any differently, I may have just taken my beverage on the sidewalk and watch the town pass us by. Good for what it is.
google avatar

Tristan J.

Yelp
Very likely the best damn coffee I've ever had in my whole stupid life. Really fun and interesting menu and a cool space. The workers were all very knowledgeable and nice. Why drink coffee anywhere else?
google avatar

Camly T.

Yelp
I always really enjoy my experience here. The people here really know what they are doing from coffee to tea to matcha. You won't get any drip coffee here. I actually get excited over the drink menu here which doesn't happen at other coffee shops. They have a matcha bar, fun non coffee drinks such as the Grand Duke, and even matcha with soda. The matcha with soda was so refreshing and a great combo. I wouldn't have ordered it without the suggestion from the barista. Also, this is the only matcha bar I've seen in the city. The atmosphere is nice inside with a large window facing the street. They have two small table with some chairs to enjoy your drinks outside. The merch here is also great for gifting or yourself! I recently bought their mug and mini tea cakes. This coffee shop really feeds my passion for matcha and tea and inspires me to learn more and deep dive into all they have to offer.

Yelp
Super cute espresso bar in an uppity neighborhood near the Warehouse District, if you aren't bothered by the price it would be a fun place to visit. I stopped by earlier today and had a chai latte with orange milk and a slice of a green tea cake with lemon and poppyseeds, which came out to about $18 with tip included. Again, there's an element of sticker-shock there, but I understand given the location, ambiance and quality of the food and beverages. The interior of Mammoth is small, with the whole place being able to seat a dozen people, generously. In the center of the bar was a table where a group of women were having a business meeting, and it seemed to have ample space for them to have laptops, papers, etc out and still be comfortable enough to talk without disturbing anyone else in the space. Along the edge of the space were three sets of tables for two, and along the street-facing window there was bar seating. I loved the menu board - which seemed to be either hand-carved or laser-burned into a wood panel - and the wonderful collection of a pants that they had around the space. Something about plants makes a space seem more lively and comfortable, and especially when it's smaller. The chai latte was great. They have alternative milks available, and it was served in a ceramic mug with a nice layer of steamed foam on top. I also really enjoyed my green tea cake - I'm not surely exactly what was in it, but it was tasty and wasn't too sweet which made it ideal for a morning breakfast snack. For some reason they didn't have forks, and even though that struck me as a bit odd it ultimately wasn't much of a problem since most of the pastries seemed easy to pick up and eat with your hands. The staff were super friendly and speedy with greeting my chai and pastry ready, and even stepped out to wipe down the bar and tables before I sat down just to make sure they were clean. I really appreciated how they made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. To my right there was someone working on the laptop at the bar, and they also seemed to be well-respected and taken care of by the staff. Ultimately, I'm kind of dissuaded by the price since I'm someone on a student budget - but I'm not going to hold that against this place. You get what you pay for, and I felt like this is a great place if you really cared about the quality of what you were getting. I'm not incredibly into different varieties or roasts of coffee, but they seemed to attract that kind of clientele. Would recommend to a friend, would stop by again or possibly suggest for a meeting, interview, or some other business function since it is so conveniently located to the Garden District and the Central Business District. They also have their own custom mugs, very cute if you're into collecting those.

Yelp
The coffee was sooo good. HOWEVER, idk the name of that girl, but if you snoody, then don't work at a coffee shop. No one wants to walk in early in the morning and pay exorbitant prices for a cup of coffee (more than Sbux, but the coffee actually tastes good) and deal with whatever put you in a bad mood today. Now, if I want coffee, I can make it at home, and I roast my own beans (to give you an idea, cause I can get some snobbery regarding coffee). So, if I go out to get coffee, I'm doing it for the experience (so long as the taste is there). My first experience made it hard for me to return to give them a second try, and there are enough places in New Orleans that I won't have to if I don't want to give them a second chance. These days, you have to hook people the first try. This coffee lover will be looking elsewhere for coffee, even when this place is accessible and easy. The first try put my wife in a mood, and that puts me in a mood.
google avatar

Ryan N.

Yelp
It's a very cute spot! But DO NOT get the oat milk here if you're used to a certain taste because evidently they make their own oat milk and it tastes very sour. It's not good. I'm sure other things on the menu are delicious. I would try it again.
google avatar

Adam M.

Yelp
Delish! Highly recommend the "new old fashioned." Cool staff, good vibes, fun neighborhood.

Jenn P.

Yelp
Horrible customer and even worse coffee... they made no attempt to greet us , the employee was too busy texting. I had to greet her and ask how her morning was as going, and her only response was what can I get you the employee's bad attitudes made the atmosphere in the shop cold and unwelcoming. I expected more from a shop that roasts their own coffee and prides themselves on their coffee program. I wanted to ask for different drink but was afraid to piss them off even more. I wouldn't recommend this establishment but hey, maybe we caught them on an off day who knows.
google avatar

Sun G.

Yelp
They pretty much did everything possible for the coffee drinker. You name it, they delivered. Awesome ambiance; it is warm, cozy and comfortable. Service is friendly and warm. These folks, though may be from back east, they have adopted the southern hospitality. Greatest place to contemplate life while sipping on espresso. My drink was slightly a bit on the acidic side but overall experience made it a non issue.
google avatar

Eddie V.

Yelp
Fantastic coffee and tea with a plethora of flavors and different types and blends to choose from. Also their pastries are amazing, most were gone by the late morning. Tried the blueberry muffin and scones both of which are great

Lisa S.

Yelp
Best cup of coffee I've had in NOLA and I'm a picky coffee snob. The flat white was top notch, nice staff and the lemon blueberry scone is why there are no photos. Chicory coffee with hot beignets still wins for experience but this place is worth walking a few blocks out of your way for. Cute spot

Yelp
Delicious coffee and wonderful little shop in the warehouse district. The home made oat milk was killer. Loved it and made my latte smooth. No need for sugar. I can't wait to try the homemade almond milk tomorrow.
google avatar

Chandler C.

Yelp
What a great shop! The staff are all kind and very knowledgeable. I am a big coffee head and my family is not as interested but this place was perfect for us all. I fully recommend this shop for anyone looking for a great cup of coffee or something really unique!
google avatar

Yelp
I don't usually order floral tasting things because I ultimately get disappointed because they taste to artificial. But this is by far the best floral tasting coffee drink I've had and I would order this again. The shop is run by a man who definitely knows how to make amazing coffee. I ordered the lavender latte with oat milk (iced). You could still taste the coffee but it had a fresh lavender taste. Not overly floral, and quite natural. The latte wasn't too sweet either. The taste of the sweetener went really well with the lavender. The coffee shop is quaint, and perfect to do some work. If I lived in New Orleans I'd be a regular customer on the weekends!
