Mamo Review - Marina - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Mamo is a small Colombian/Venezuelan spot by Marina Green that’s open for lunch and dinner. The menu covers everything from loaded patacones to pabellón criollo—but our go-to is the pulled pork arepas that come in a large enough portion to be a full dinner. They also have beer and wine by the glass." - Team Infatuation

Mamo Opens in the Marina With Venezuelan and Colombian Flair - Eater SF

"A blend of Californian, Colombian, and Venezuelan cuisines is what’s promised at Mamo, now open at 3659 Buchanan Street. Taking over the former Fresh Bay Cafe space, Mamo serves some traditional snacks like tequeños (Venezuelan fried cheese sticks) and patacones (Colombian fried plantains) alongside entrees like pork shoulder with Colombian uchua berries and arepas, and steak with chimichurri and yuca fries." - Janelle Bitker

What a spectacular hidden gem. You normally have to be in the mission to get Latin food done this well. Everything on the menu was fantastic. You can tell the owner / operator absolutely cares about what comes out of the kitchen. Prices reasonable and value for what you get is 11/10. Can’t believe I’ve walked by as many times as I have and never tried it. Ty for having me and cheers!

Our first time enjoying the excellent and authentic Colombian / Venezuelan cuisine at the Mamo! Make sure you come early as it gets packed pretty quickly. Special shout out to my Venezuelan friend Jorge. Thank you for serving us. Until next time.

Google
Cute and cozy Columbian/Venezuelan restaurant, we made reservations and due to the size I would recommend making a reservation. They do also have outdoor seating. Parking was easy to find which is not always the case in San Francisco. Loved our meal and the service was great. We wanted to try as much as possible so we shared a couple appetizers and entrees With every dish as soon as they were bringing it to the table, you could just smell how amazing each dish was going to be. Ordered: 📍Crispy Brussel Sprouts with caper aioli. 10/10 and I'm not a fan of brussel sprouts these were wonderful! 📍Patacones (fried green plantains) 8/10 not bad just not as impressive as everything else we ordered 📍Classic Arepas (shredded beef) 10/10 📍 Arroz con Pollo. 10/10 Can't wait to go back and try even more off the menu!

•Happened to come across this lovely spot while looking for parking. Decided to stop and the experience has been wonderful. •The food was very different than I expected (having tried Colombian food IN Colombia and Miami... ) but the FLAVOR was refreshing. •I ordered from the happy hour menu and the portion sizes were perfect. I ordered the 3 popular items and was not disappointed. See pics. •The atmosphere was awesome. I will be coming back for sure. • The staff was on it! They were great from the initial hello to checking out.

This place is incredible! Went there to get some brunch and completely loved it! The Venezuelan-Colombian fusion is so tasty and the whole place is so cozy and warm, it really brought me back home. With the whole covid situation, they arranged a outside dinning option and they also have heaters available. I felt pretty safe and really enjoyed being out for a while, the staff is very polite and food came out very fast. I would suggest getting the truffled yuca frita and the patacones. As a vegan, I'm very impressed this place has a bunch of options for diverse dietary needs. I'm looking forward to getting the vegan black bean arepas with sweet plantain and 🥑! Also, I missed the coconut lemonade but I can't wait to try it too!!!

Google
Great place in the Marina to eat absolutely delicious stuffed arepas. We had the chicken and we were blown away at how good the arepa itself was, the just crispy texture and the chicken filling generous and scrumptious! Comes with a fresh salad with light dressing . Mamo is open for lunch a few days a week and for dinner.

Finally made it to Mamo, which is just across the street from our condo. It’s a cute little place and has great food and service. We had reservations but didn’t realize we had to request indoors/outdoors before arriving. The inside is not that big, so we were only able to sit at a bar like area if we wanted to sit inside. We opted for outdoor seating which is fine during this pandemic. Service was good; the wait staff were very attentive and checked in with us quite often. Food was delish. It was a little on the saltier side for me, but flavors were all there. I had the Pabellon Criollo which is shredded beef with rice, black beans and sweet plantains. My friend got the Bavette Steak over chimichurri w/truffle yucca fries. She didn’t finish hers, so we took it home and I had it as a snack after my workout. We shared the brussel sprouts which was also very delish. We brought our own wine and I believe corkage was $20. Parking is easy and the restaurant is great for all kinds of occasions whether a first date, girls night, or even family night. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped by on a weekday evening, and we were the only people there. We weren't super hungry but ordered a couple of apps to share (crispy brussel sprouts and tequenos, which are like mozerella sticks) to share. I usually enjoy Peruvian food but maybe we didn't order the right dishes -- everything we got was pretty bland. The brussel sprouts weren't that crispy and the cheese wasn't at all integrated into the dish. Burger and yucca fries didn't taste much better than a normal fast food burger. The tequenos are a fun eat, but gets heavy quickly. Ambiance was dim and cozy, and servers were friendly. Perhaps the arroz con pollo and arepas are better options?

Yelp
This spot is such a hidden gem! We were walking along the Marina green and someone suggested lunch, luckily my boyfriend had this spot bookmarked because there's no way we would've ended up here if not. The food was some of the most surprisingly delicious food I've had recently - and I say surprising because it looked like an unassuming cafe in an area you didn't expect to see a restaurant. Our group of 4 ordered a pitcher of sangria, some arepas, and the Arroz con Pollo. I went with the pork arepa - which was great, but also got a taste of the shrimp arepa - which was phenomenal. Before even tasting it, you could smell how good the shrimp was. I will definitely be back for that. The Arroz con Pollo was also delicious, especially when paired with their house sauce. The plantain was perfect and added such a nice flavor to the dish. We sat at a table outside and enjoyed the nice weather. The street was pretty calm and felt very relaxing. We also enjoyed the music they were playing, totally added to the dining experience.

Yelp
I'm usually a fan of Latin cuisines so we decided to give this spot a try. Tequeños: A If you like mozzarella sticks this should be your go to appetizer. It's a cheese stick wrapped with dough. Patacones: B- These were okay, a little dry. I'm not the biggest fan of plantains but you might like it if you are. Yucca: B+ Like French fries. They taste pretty good. Very crispy. Latin chicken stew: B I enjoyed the seasoning of the chicken stew and beans. Solid dish but I think some other options would feel more unique. We Sat outside since I brought the dog, and the tables were rather dirty and wobbly, plus the chairs weren't comfortable. So I recommend sitting inside.

Yelp
This really is a hidden gem in the marina. They are never busy (but they should be!!) it's delicious comfort food with rice and beans with a variety of options. Loved the arroz con pollo. The steak was a little tough but the flavors were delicious. I can't speak to the dining experience since we did take out but had great service for take out!

Yelp
Friendly and attentive service at a small but cozy spot. Ordered the beef arepa, vegan arepa and an empanada. The outer shell of each item was hot and crispy, and the stuffing was a great filling portion. I really liked the flavors of the beef arepa and the sauce they have on the side help add an extra kick to it. And I appreciate that it comes with a side salad to balance out your meal. They also had an amazing, fun playlist of Latin music playing in the background.

Yelp
Recently discovered this gem in the Marina. It's a small restaurant but has a nice cozy feel. Spent my birthday here and enjoyed trying the different appetizers, especially loved the Avocado Burrata, Sweet Plantains, beef Empanadas, Fried Cheese Mushrooms and the yucca fries. Also love the Mamo special lunch with the shredded beef and rice. Everything we ate was delicious with delectable flavors. It was a great dining experience with a friendly and attentive staff! Made my birthday very special eating in this cute restaurant with outstanding food. Definitely will come back! 5 stars!

Yelp
What a hidden gem by the Marina area.. the space is charming with a super cozy and homey feel inside the resto. Friendly and fast service. Lots of appetizers and entrees options to choose from and they are all delicious. We tried the maduros(sweet plantains), charred hen of the woods, tequenos(fried cheese), avocado burrata and the empanaditas (oh so good). Everything perfectly goes well with their sangria!
google avatar

Yelp
Best service, Best Food, Best drinks, Best Music!!!!!! I just love this place Genuine Colombian flavors and please order the tequenos!!!

Yelp
The food was really really good, service was fantastic, very friendly and welcoming! We brought our dogs and sat in the outdoor seating. It gets cold in the Marina but between our jackets and the heaters it was pleasant. Finding a street parking was pretty easy, and there are plenty of parking options in comfortable walking distance (5-10 minute walk). Would definitely visit again.

Yelp
Colombian and Venezuelan restaurant in The Marina...with 4.5 STARS? ( o _ O ) Yea, that's what I thought too but one of the best Korean restaurants in the city (ILCHA) is in The Marina so can't be too quick to judge. Gotta try it for yourself... In my perpetual search for outdoor dining, I found MaMo on Yelp. They opened several months before the pandemic hit, and are open for takeout, delivery, indoor dining, and outdoor dining. We made rezzies which weren't needed as we were the only ones there until we finished around 6 pm. M E N U Colombian and Venezuelan cuisine with a touch of Californian (i.e. avocado burrata and crispy brussels sprouts). Beer, wine, and soju cocktails available. No full liquor license. F O O D Unfortunately, it seems we went on an off day at MaMo. Nearly everything we tried was bland - I'm not talking salt but the food needed spices and acid. * Arepitas: Venezuelan Fried Corn Cakes w/ cojita cheese (3 pc-$9): https://bit.ly/3J85i7F The arepitas are snack-sized corn cakes without any fillings. They were light and crispy, not as doughy as the regular sized arepas. The arepitas were plain so they could use a condiment for dipping. * Tequeños: Venezuelan Fried Cheesesticks ($12): https://bit.ly/3S0bDGv The tequeños were disappointing. While the exterior was crispy and flaky, the cheese was like farmer's cheese...dry and crumbly so there was no melty cheese pull. The accompanying guasacaca sauce (think Venezuelan chimichurri) was herbaceous but lacking brightness and acidity. * Truffle Yuca Fries Mix ($10): https://bit.ly/3S0bDGv Love yuca frita so we ordered this thinking it was going to be a mix of regular fries and yuca frita. It wasn't. It was a plate of regular french fries with two pieces of yuca frita for "garnish". The accompanying truffle aioli was devoid of any earthy truffle flavor. * Loaded Patacones: Fried Green Plantains w/ shredded pork, salad ($17): https://bit.ly/3S76Kvs The double-fried plantains were fine - warm, crunchy, and well-seasoned but the pernil, although a tad wet was stringy, dry, and bland. The tomato, avocado, and lettuce salad was ok but needed acid. S E R V I C E Cordial. The server was kind enough to serve me soju by the shot since I don't drink sugary cocktails. We were the only table there so food arrived promptly. A M B I A N C E Cozy indoor dining with ample seating in their parklet. They're located on a quiet street so there wasn't much car or pedestrian traffic. P A R K I N G Easy street parking (non-metered). Overall, I wish I had a better experience at MaMo but unfortunately, the food was underwhelming. On the upside, Dateway is down the block for ALL the single ladies (and men)!

Yelp
I came back with my husband on Sunday for lunch! I confirm that the food is still delicious. This time we ordered two Pabellon Arepas and they were very good. I like the texture of Arepa because they just grilled it and the inside remains soft. The only downside is that it's a little bit tricky to eat it. The meat is delicious and well done. Also the other ingredients are good. The girl who served us was super friendly and I remember her from the last time we went. The restaurant is small, but they have some tables outside.

Jodel S.

Yelp
Steak chimichurri - The Chimichurri sauce has an herbal, tangy flavor that complements the smokey, savory taste of the steak. The dish is served with a salad, similar taste to the chimichurri, makes for a good palette cleanser. I was given the option of either red beans or black beans: went with the red beans, very hearty and yummy. Patacones - A crispy appetizer, made from plantain (similar to banana) but more savory. I was recommended to pair this with the Steak Chimichurri to complement the tangy, herbal flavor. It is a deep fried appetizer, but does taste good when using their in-house-made aioli. - The difference between Patacones and Maduritos: Patacones is savory/salt, while Maduritos is sweet. Passion fruit juice makes for a great refreshing beverage. I was given the option for a shot of tequila, but I'll have to hold off on that for another time. Very homey atmosphere. Friendly staff members.

Yelp
I recommend MaMo. Very authentic Venezuelan cuisine. Good size portion and surprisingly reasonable prices (considering their Marina location). There hamburger, empanada, and salad were absolutely delicious and prepared to perfection. The fried cheese is not my thing but my teenage son Loved the cheese and sauce. We'll definitely be back the next time we are in the marina district.

Yelp
What a wonderful restaurant near the water in the marina. We stopped by for an early dinner on a Tuesday evening. The weather was perfect. We opted to sit inside but they also have outdoor seating with heat lamps. Our server was super friendly and I think he also may have helped cook our delicious meal. Everything was timed perfectly so that we enjoyed our Prosecco and tapas slowly at the beginning of our meal and then our mains. We took our time and ate through all of these delicious items: 1) Brussels sprouts. Crispy and perfectly cooked. The order was probably enough for four people. 2) truffle and yucca fries. Great seasoning and texture. Dipping sauce was super yummy. 3) avocado burrata. SO FREAKING DELICIOUS! All caps may have been aggressive but I needed you to feel my love of this dish. It was a melt in your mouth combination of soft as well as the crisp from the bread. My mouth is watering as I type this. 4) Arroz con pollo. The rice has a great seasoning and the chicken was nicely shredded. 5) Arepa with shredded beef. The marinade on this shredded beef is one of the best I have had. Perfectly juicy and the rice and beans were also great. Mamo is an excellent restaurant with Colombian and Argentinian flair and flavors. If we lived closer, this restaurant would definitely be in our monthly rotation. I can't wait to go back and try some more!

Yelp
This is an update to one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Been coming here since 2020. Michael the proprietor has updated the menu. My favorite first course is the Patacones - fried green plantains with Mamo's sauces and the Tequeños - a Venezuelan with fried breaded cheese. Then it gets difficult. I could do the Arroz con Pollo, the Steak Chimichurri or the Arepas. And for your friends who are not so adventurous the MaMo's Burger still has an excellent South American flavor. For drinks, I usually go for a draft beer, or a rose or malbec. For a closer I'll take a shot of their tequila soju. Vut tonight I am trying something new: fresh passion fruit with a shout of rum soju. For dessert, I quite like one of the appetizers Maduros - fried sweet plantains. Of course, I am writing this update here at MaMo. I may not be in Colombia, but I like what it feels like being here.

Yelp
Beautiful, authentic, incredible restaurant. The food is beyond reproach. I love the homey-ness of the place, I wish SF had more spots like this :)

Yelp
Pretty terrible arepas. They weren't particularly crunchy, the inside plantains were dry, and the prices are exorbitant for the quality of the food. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Yelp
A MUST TRY IN SF! I'm not sure if this place is popular or not but I feel like this place isn't talked about enough! I tried 5 different dishes and they were all so good! The restaurant is small so there isn't much seating. Call in before to make sure you get a spot. They'll easily reserve it for you if they do. The dishes feel so fresh and you don't feel heavy afterwards. You can tell that everything is cooked well. I would come back here a million times and recommend it to all my friends!

Ananth N.

Yelp
Lovely little place in the Marina! The food was delicious, the owner friendly and it's on a beautiful, quiet corner.

Yelp
Well... I'd say in between 3.5/4 stars. Made it to this restaurant when looking through Yelp for Peruvian. Not sure why this popped up in the algorithm... as was two neighborhood away from where I was. ‍. No problem... I made reservations and headed over. Arrived around 5 min early. Here was where a bit odd... Restaurant empty and server/owner/manager...I don't know his role stood in doorway and it felt like I was being dissuaded from eating dinner there. ‍... At first we went to a two top table, but since I had precious cargo with me, I moved my party to a three top. Weirdness continues with can't sit at a 3 top, then re-evaluating the empty restaurant says we can eat there because we'll be done before his next reservation. ‍ ‍ Food: 4 stars I had the chicken and polenta...I very much enjoyed (A) the polenta was creamy, deliciousness... There where lemon rind also in dish... Great touch! Partner had the steak-which she also thought was delicious! Fries soaked in grease and salad.. Plain mixed greens salad. I'd say sides could use a little work, but the main attraction (A) Ceviche (B) shrimp and mayo...‍ Cheese, avacado & oil with toast (A) Sangria (B)... Good At the end of the day... The food is good, but the overall experience is lacking... The ambiance is fine, but extremily small space. The server did warm up as the evening progressed and we enjoyed the food....

Yelp
The food was so fresh and flavorful. I would 100% recommend MaMo to anyone who wants to discover a not-as-well known restaurant in SF. The service was great too, the ladies were especially nice and fun to talk to!

Yelp
Ordered the Arepas with pork. Very good. Highly recommend. Also, no bs additional fees. This is a good local business to support

Yelp
Interesting spot, not very crowded on a Thursday night, but a decent meal and excellent service. Had the hen of the woods starter. Yummy and umami. Then had the fish which was tender and delicious. Probably not an immediate go-back-to spot but as a neighborhood reliable eatery it works well.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try MaMo for ages, and I was finally able to head over. A friend and I made a meal out of appetizers and it was fantastic. Rating 4 stars as one of the items we wanted to try - the tequeños - was not available, and we went at 7 on a weekday with a fairly empty restaurant, so reasoning behind that was not clear. What we did have: the arepitas (did you even go to a Colombian restaurant if you're not going to get some sort of arepa?), the maduros (fried sweet plantains), the crispy brussels sprouts (these were excellent and also a gigantic portion), and the avocado burrata. All were delicious, and we didn't finish everything - when I say the sprouts were a healthy portion, I mean they were probably the largest order of brussels sprouts I've gotten at a restaurant. Overall - really great variety of appetizers, for the most part vegetarian friendly (though for the entrees there are fewer inherently veg items), and quick and delicious.
google avatar

Regina M.

Yelp
Wanted a small meal so ordered the empanaditas and they were so delicious. The flavor of the beef was yummy and the pastry was light and tasty. The sauce they serve with it is good and the lime brings a nice brightness to the empanaditas. Great upbeat music and the staff was friendly and attentive. Sat outside since it was such a beautiful evening in the city.
google avatar

Isaac A.

Yelp
Place was empty and I have no idea why. The food was absolutely amazing. I've never had avocado burrata and I can tell you, it's not something you want to miss. It came with only 4 pieces of bread so definitely ask for more - there's more burrata than bread which is a good problem to have. We each ordered an arepa. My friend ordered the Mamo special and I ordered the vegan arepa. At first I thought, this is just an arepa full of black beans and it will be a let down. BUT somehow, especially when you put the sauce on, it tasted wonderful. Lots of flavor, plantains we're in there too. It's super filling even though it's just one. Sangria was a good portion size and filled with little pieces of apple which was a nice a touch. Great date spot or fancier dinner vibes.

Yelp
*** In Short *** Dishes with decent flavor but little depth *** In Depth *** Came here with the girlfriend the other day for a late outdoor lunch, and while everything was fine, nothing made it a particularly notable experience for us. The patacones were a bit too dry and bland for our tastes, while the beef arepas and arroz con pollo had good, balanced flavors, but lacked any sort of punch or depth: we enjoyed what we ate, but we kept thinking that the dishes were missing something, and could have benefited with the addition of this or that (more spice, or spices, etc). The only thing that really stood out to me were the roasted plantains, but I've always been a sucker for those, and they're hard to mess up! Disclaimer: As it could just very well be that I'm not a huge fan of the Columbian/Venezuelan flavor profiles, I'd consider MaMo a 3 star restaurant for most folks, and not something they should dismiss entirely if they're around the area. But as I'm unlikely to come back myself, they end up with more of a 2.5.
google avatar

Tracy Z.

Yelp
The staff are friendly and welcoming, there are indoor and outdoor seating available and is located in a quiet block of the neighborhood. Ordered: Arepa Rellena Mamo's special: The meat in the arepa was quite delicious however I do wish the cheese on top would've been melted into the arepa House seasoned bavette steak: This dish was smaller than I thought, I had around 3 pieces of tri tip steak pieces with some chimichurri sauce and salad and yucca fries Mamo's burger: The burger was really simple and the patty was quite dry, pretty bland in flavor Crispy Brussel sprouts Charred hen of the woods: Mushrooms in a pesto cilantro oil, the mushrooms were cooked to a nice texture however the dish was really sour This is a really small place working with a tiny kitchen and although we were the only guests there when I visited, the dishes still took quite some time to be ready. The dishes itself are quite bland in flavor and overall not worth the price and wait.

Yelp
Perfect Latin American place off the beaten path in the Marina District. The Mamo lunch hit the spot with shredded beef, rice, salad, and plantains. The aqua panela that came with the lunch was really refreshing. The music and sangrias were a bonus! Lovely service.

Yelp
I am Colombian and wanted some Colombian food. Really disappointed to show up and learn that they've basically reverted to an American menu. Burgers...soup of the day was butternut squash...What?! Too bad bc this was the one place I could go in the city to satisfy my cravings :(

Yelp
Tasty food, lovely service! We had pretty much one of every appetizer, and loved them all. And since most of them seemed like they could be made vegan and still be quite tasty, returning with some vegan friends soon to test that out.

Yelp
Humans are lazy and dumb. 3 blocks away in the downtown Cow Hole area of SF there are tons of $hitty reataurants and bars full of drunk people. Walk a couple blocks away and theres this amazing Colombian/ Venezuelan restaurant that is much less crowded. Our waiter/ bartender was great and made us 3 of the best drinks we had in SF with passion fruit, cinnamon lime, and mango. We ate sushito peppers, hen of the woods mushrooms, plantains, and arepas. The mushrooms were our favorite, so flavorful. The  arepa and the green sauce that came with it was amazing. Drank the rest of the sauce straight once the arepa  done. Plantains were also great, great texture and sauce. If anything, I would maybe skip the sushitos unless you want to pretend you are being healthy by eating something green. Everything was flavorful  and unique from anything else you can get in the area. Would definitely walk out of the downtown Cow's Hole area for this restaurant. It is worth it.

Yelp
What do you get when you cross a woman owned business with Colombian / Venezuelan flare, a fun atmosphere, good food and good music? One happy Venezuelan FIANCE licking her lips waiting for the next visit to Mamo. This is a cool little neighborhood spot with super nice and friendly owners and great food. Check it out

Yelp
Great little place on Buchanan st close to the Marina. Food and service was great. Jorge was a awesome waiter. Small quaint outdoor seating. Everyone should try this place before you head to the Golden Gate Bridge. Will be back whenever I'm in the city.

Yelp
As my bf and I searched for a cozy restaurant for our Valentine's night out, we came across Mamo. We thought about the entrees we would order and couldn't wait to try this romantic spot. We had to book our dinner on a Sunday because they were booked up for Friday and Saturday. Thinking this must be a popular restaurant for Valentine's Day. In any case, we got to the Marina quite early and walked around the neighborhood just to work up our appetite. When we got to the restaurant, we were hungry for some seafood! We were told to scan the QR code to view the menu. Lo and behold, no seafood of any kind was on the menu! We were in shock and really disappointed that we couldn't order the seafood rice or a whole fish as planned. My bf resorted to ordering a hamburger and I had a classic arepas (mamo's special) with beef, tomatoes, pesto and gouda. And for an appetizer, we had an avocado burrata. The grilled toast for the avocado burrata wasn't crispy or even warm. Maybe they were prepared ahead of time which didn't taste good. Have you ever eaten toast that's been cold and left out? Then you know what I mean. The avocado and burrata tasted ok. But had the toast been freshly toasted and crispy, it would have made the dish shine. Unfortunately, it fell short. My bf's burger was medium rare as he requested. The fries were a mix of different potatoes which made it interesting. He pointed out that the pickles were pickled celery and broccoli. My mamo's special arepas was very greasy from the pesto sauce. I lifted the arepa with the tissue paper that it was wrapped in and got greasy fingers. There is only one corn pocket even though the menu says pockets and arepas. Not much food considering the dish was half full of salad. I guess I should have ordered a hamburger instead. Nothing else on the menu appealed to us since everything with seafood was removed. I can't believe how a restaurant could remove their popular dishes during a special occasion like Valentine's Day. I know it's a few days from the actual occasion but many celebrate it the weekend before. Next time, we'll stick to the restaurants we know and love during the special occasions because I hate being disappointed!

Yelp
Run, don't walk, to get one of their amazing vegan arepas. I'm not vegan and that arepa blew me away. Arepas are often mostly cornmeal but this one was really stuffed with wonderfully flavored black beans, fried plantains (surprisingly delicious), and avocado. The arepa itself had a slightly crunchy outside and was tender inside. It worked very well together. That's all I had so I can't comment on the other dishes. I will say I can't get it out of my mind. Enjoy!

Yelp
I ordered the arroz con pollo and loaded patacones stuffed with shredded chicken. The only thing good about the food is the presentation on how it was served. The rice was bland and the patacones was soggy from the bottom; it fell apart went I attempt to pick it up. The shredded chicken needed more flavoring; please add more spices in the rice too! Cook with basil leaves or add capers to rice instead of green peas but it needed definitely needed more!! For a Cuban/Valenzuelan restaurant I expected more punch of flavor but that's not what I got. And for $50 delivery from DoorDash, it was definitely not worth it. The only positive I can give was the plaintains served with the rice. I really wanted to like this place. : (

Yelp
This place is right near the Marina Safeway and it is tiny. I Have a dinner club with a couple friends - they both thought this was a too far outta the way location - but we have strict rules, so picking a place is getting more difficult. I like to pick places with minimum 4 starts (preferably 4.5+). The menu is brief - people were raving about the Tequeno appetizers - so we got those and the plantains. They were both good. I got the chicken thigh on the polenta and it was very good. Unfortunately, it was about $100/person with 2 bottles of their least expensive wine, and my friends were kinda annoyed at me. (Although one girl did say it was the best food we have ever had in our dinner club - so hey, I'll take that as a mini win.) Glad I went - but won't likely be back. It would be a great date place. (Oh and they need a lighted switch in the bathroom - so you can see where it is to turn on the light after you close the door)

Yelp
Sometimes you get really lucky. We did when we came here. Greens was full and only had cold outside seating. So we found this place and it was a full body yes from the second we entered. Everything--literally everything--was a 10. The food was perfect. Jorge's service perfect. The ambiance--beautiful, sexy, warm with the right music at the correct volume. The chicken was so delicious I couldn't believe it. As were the fish, begs, empanadas, yucca fries, sangria, the sugar cane drinks, and the ceviche! 20 stars!
