The 11 Best Coffee Shops In Downtown Austin

"The Downtown coffee shop Mañana Dos is from the people behind Mañana on South Congress, so you’ll find exemplary pastries like kouign-amanns, but here you can also get grab-and-go salads, smoothies, and beer and wine. On Electric Drive by the Town Lake trail, the space is all glass, concrete, and blonde wood, with a big covered dog-friendly patio. While this spot can get a little loud, because it’s tucked on the western fringes of Downtown, it’s generally a relaxed space to hang out or work (with lots of outlets). 3. Review - South Congress - Austin - The Infatuation

"Mañana is a coffeeshop in the South Congress Hotel with very good coffee drinks and grab and go breakfast tacos. There are also excellent pastries including kouign amanns and an everything bagel kolaches. Since it's sort of tucked away in the back of the hotel, it's never all that busy, making for a nice escape from the mayhem of South Congress Avenue." - Raphael Brion

Mañana – Downtown Location is another outpost of the popular Austin café, this time situated in the heart of downtown. This location is clearly designed with a different clientele in mind-primarily office workers and professionals dropping in for a quick caffeine boost during the week. The indoor space is minimal and functional, not particularly cozy or atmospheric, but practical for its purpose. What it lacks in interior charm, it partially makes up for with its large outdoor seating area, which is spacious and well laid out for those who want to sit and enjoy their drinks. The coffee here is good. We ordered a flat white and an iced matcha. The matcha was smooth and unsweetened-exactly as requested, which is a detail we always appreciate. Service was quick, and drinks were prepared with care. However, one thing worth noting is the attitude of the staff toward children. While our visit was brief and casual, we got the distinct impression that kids were not exactly welcome. Our children were simply being curious-touching the merchandise, playing with crayons and while nothing was damaged or out of control, the staff seemed visibly irritated by their presence. The vibe was a bit tense, as if families with kids were seen as an inconvenience. Overall, this Mañana is a good stop for grabbing coffee downtown, especially if you’re alone or with other adults. But if you’re with kids, you may want to consider other locations that are more welcoming and relaxed.

I’m obsessed (to put it lightly)! I’m at Mañana Dos almost every day - the baristas are witty, fun to chat with, and somehow always remember my drink order - even when I switch it up every few weeks. Lately, my go-to is a mango sticky rice matcha enjoyed out on the patio. It feels like being back in my small hometown.

Google
This coffee is incredible and staff is so kind. It is a low key vibe inside with cute local goods, a curated playlist, and perfect aesthetic. Their iced vanilla latte is my first stop for every trip to Austin! I wish I could rate them higher honestly.

Google
It's a cosy and nice cafe serving good quality drinks. I had a pistachio latte and it was excellent. It's a busy place but there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. All tables lining the wall inside have a power outlet for your electronic devices. There is a restroom inside that's for customers only and you can get the code from the baristas to use it.

Google
I love popping in to manana for an extra hot vanilla latte! It really starts my day so well. The team there is really friendly and laid back which is the perfect vibe for a coffee shop and the pastries are good too! Also if you bring your own cup you get a discount which is even better!

Google
If you’re on South Congress and need a chill coffee break, Mañana Coffee is a go-to. It’s tucked inside the South Congress Hotel—clean, cozy vibes with good music and dreamy natural light. Perfect for working, relaxing, or just hanging out with friends

Google
I work right next door to Mañana and love being able to walk over for a coffee and pastry break during the day. The shaded patio is truly one of the best spots in the neighborhood! It's perfect for getting a bit of work done or grabbing coffee with a friend, even in the middle of summer. I've loved every drink that I've tried plus the new cookie dough cold foam is soo good! The baristas are always welcoming, and quick to help if I ever have a question or need a coffee recommendation. Plus, my dog loves the Mañana treats and toys that I've brought her too!!

Google
I loved Mañana. At the South Congress location, I tried the Mango Sticky Rice Matcha and was immediately hooked. It was incredibly smooth and perfectly balanced. That experience led me to visit the Downtown Mañana, which didn’t have the Mango Sticky Rice Matcha on the menu just yet, so I opted for the Earl Grey Latte made with Earl Grey–infused oat milk and espresso. It turned out to be one of the best coffee drinks I’ve had in a long time. The outdoor space is also expansive and beautiful. It’s shaded, with plenty of seating, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy your drink.

Yelp
First time here after a conference on way to airport. At first went around to find parking but you just have to pull into the garage next door at the Gable Parks Tower for retail parking. If you order, you get 60 mins free. Staff was super friendly. And both of my drinks were very yummy. High ceilings make it feel airy. Lots of small tables for working and the bar for some barista action.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere Nice outdoor seating area My vanilla latte was very good Barista was less than personable. Didn't say hi, didn't reply to my hi, mumbled a few questions regarding my order, barely looked up. Find a job you enjoy, please. There are a LOT worse places to work than a cool coffee shop.

Yelp
First time trying manana! Me and a girlfriend were on a Saturday morning stroll around the lake and decided to give it a try! The iced latte was amazing!! I understand the hype now and why this place is always packed! Added almond milk and sugar free caramel syrup it was still very sweet and also strong!
google avatar

Mira C.

Yelp
I like this Manana more for remote working than the SoCo one since it has more tables. Love their homemade syrups. Had a peanut butter latte that was scrumptious!
google avatar

Yelp
Manana is clean and modern. Definitely attracts a certain type of crowd. Located right across the way from Lady Bird Lake this is an awesome location! I ordered the classic Chai latte ($6) with added vanilla sweetener and a small cinnamon roll ($7) which they left in the oven a little too long, as it was too crisp (almost burnt) My latte was delicious but it was cold. The barista knows how to make great drinks. I absolutely love that they have events hosted throughout the week such as a monthly flea market and pop up. I would definitely come back to try some of the other lattes to go. I wish they had a better dog policy though as dog hair was everywhere and it's unsanitary.

Yelp
This place is ahhhmazing! It's conveniently got fast electric car chargers right in front for my rental! It opens up at 7am! It's got a beautiful large indoor seating area with another large comfy socially friend outdoor patio (I'm melting)... I wish I had this place back home huhuu... it is modern, high ceilings, clean, chic and kewlll. They also sell alcohol with a bar seating area to add to the already plentiful spaces to sit! I ordered a hot Red Panda with almond milk & absolutely loveee it that it's herbal (so0o it's a decaf latte essentially!!) YAAAAS. Buttt the down for this was the $9 cup of oatmeal. I think she might have mis-charged me though for the overnight oats, after the fact. Anyways, that's only why minus -1 star. Otherwise, I'd make sure to eat my oatmeal at home & buy my panda latte always here!!

Yelp
2 years later - I had to drop down a star and a half after trying out many coffee shops in ATX. Prices are high and the seasonal drink I tried recently is meh - the strawberry cream matcha is $7.5. The matcha is off green and tasted old. The drink is watered down - which is as bad a matcha latte can get lol. Staffs are hit or miss - some are more friendly/attentive than others.

Yelp
I like the vibes of this cafe, but parking is only paid street or 1 hr garage validated. I think the coffee is fine, but twice I've gotten a smoothie and both times the fruit was not fully blended. The baristas are nice but they might not be smoothie experts. Also the golden bull + hemp kinda tasted savory which was strange to me. I generally like smoothies a lot so I want to give it another try, especially since it's only $5, but not sure.

Yelp
I'm not going to lie, I'm definitely a regular here! I come to Mañana about 3-4 times each month. Not only are the coffee and treats delicious, but everyone who works here is so kind! Additionally, the cafe is close to a bunch of trails around the lake, so there's always a ton of foot traffic from people on their morning walk, run, or bike ride. There's plenty of seating outside and inside, and Mañana also validates 1 hour of garage parking. Great location, great service, great food and drinks -- great all around!! Note: I highly recommend the broccoli and cheese danish This location is dog-friendly and family-friendly!

Yelp
Really nice coffee spot - bougee vibes, expensive coffee, tacodeli tacos, dog friendly outdoor patio, a bit of a line on a Sat, close to the trails- this place has everything you desire if you're into this. It could be a cute date spot, girlfriends hangout spot, meetup spot. My only complaint, when you charge $9 for coffee - and someone asks for extra hot, please make sure you're offering the customer what they need!

Yelp
My husband and I love coffee, and really enjoyed our visit to Mañana. This location has tons of seating, and decent parking. We walked from the boardwalk/pedestrian bridge and it's the perfect stop. Server was kind (even with our very specific requests) and enjoyed sitting outside with our pup. They even have a jar of homemade treats at the register that my pup devoured. The coffee was really good too! Liked it so much that we bought some beans to take home.

Yelp
We stopped in here on a trip to the Library as the Cafe in the library, the cookbook had closed. As I find myself saying more often now, this is not my type of place. Shana picked it as she is the coffee drinker and I have never taken to it. The place is nice, lots of indoor and outdoor seating. They have water bowls for your dogs as it is near a walk and bike trail and a area to throw frisbees and let your dog run around. Very popular and busy even in the short time we stopped there. Shana got a Latte of some sort, the foam art was well done. See attached picture. They had some fun items for sale and we did try the Kolaches which had 3 different prices, one on the sign where the Kolaches were displayed, a different price on the menu, and yet a 3rd price they charged us. As it was a relaxing day I didn't make a big deal though the charged price was higher but not by a huge amount. Sadly even with them warming them up in the microwave the Kolaches were still pretty cold and not really that good. Even the warm parts, neither of us was impressed. The Latte was good according to Shana and the place was quiet, more so then your average Starbucks. They had a massage chair option in one corner which no one used while we were there but that is a cool feature and a nice option. Overall nice place but don't think we will return. It didn't really stand out in any way and the Kolache issues really soured me on the place. It gets the 3 stars instead of 2 due to service being good and the Latte Foam Art.

Yelp
The breakfast tacos were delicious and the espresso was tasty too! The staff were also friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating.
google avatar

Nicholas C.

Yelp
Their machines were busted so no espresso drinks. Just drip coffee or matcha. All their pastries seem to be from other bakeries that they resell. Service was average. Ambiance was okay.
google avatar

Suliman S.

Yelp
It's a steady and versatile coffee shop with a lot of items in the neighborhood to accommodate folk. The espresso, tacos, smoothies, cookies, and other offerings allow for a steady quick spot for the average city goer. I think it is a staple in the Seaholm district.
google avatar

Spring L.

Yelp
I work from here to a lot because there's great wifi, a ton of space indoor and outdoor, and a full menu that accommodates everything from smoothies to kombucha to sandwiches to wine. Love that they also have wednesday(?) night live music and a hotdog popup that people say is delicious!!! Such a great community cafe!

Yelp
We came down here during the Austin flea market, which is held directly outside of the entrance every first and fourth Saturday. This coffee bar sits at the foot of the Gables Park Tower. The flea market definitely adds to the customer traffic inside, including a line for the bathroom. You can park at the Y nearby or pay for street parking directly outside assuming you can find a space. They do have four fast electric car charge ports available. Inside you'll find about a dozen tables to sit at. They do have a very good selection of wine and beer, including some beers on tap. One yelper complained about all the dog hair which is no surprise since there is a constant flow of dogs in and out of this place. As a matter of fact, there's no shortage of dog owners wherever you look. Outside you will find about a dozen covered tables to sit at. Basically, this is just a good coffee shop with some extras that serves the residents in the surrounding area and pedestrians. Plenty of informative photos below.

Yelp
One of my best friends introduced me to this coffee shop. I am soooo glad she did! We went on an early Saturday morning. For parking, make sure you park at the YMCA. (Be patient!!) once we parked, we walked over to the coffee shop. Super easy. Not too far. Coffee: DELICIOUS. Totally worth it. One size only. 12 oz. Service: super chill & friendly. The baristas really do matter! Ambiance: not too sure! It was really crowded and nowhere to sit so we decided to walk the trail. Worth trying it out!

Yelp
This place is so pretty. There's indoor and outdoor seating , a massage area (priced in the photos). Pups of Manana is such a great idea. Staff are polite and will answer any questions you might have on menu items and flavors. There's Wi-Fi available and EV chargers nearby as well. The golden milk has been my go-to lately it feels rejuvenating and tastes mildly sweet. Personally I think some things here are overpriced BUT for the area it's in, it's perfectly priced. Overall great place to have a mini meeting, get some work done, read a book or get a massage from 10-3 am. I've been here multiple times now and it's consistently friendly.
google avatar

Melynda S.

Yelp
Popular coffee shop in the Seaholm District! What I ordered: Iced Vanilla Matcha Latte with Oat Milk ($7) - 3.5/5 stars It's not the best place to get work done as the tables are pretty small and there is more outside seating available than inside, but the aesthetic vibe is a great spot for an afternoon catch-up with friends. Staff was friendly, but for the higher price I wish I had liked the drink better.
google avatar

Javier B.

Yelp
Yummy coffee and lots of delicious treats, nicely located near the lake. Friendly service, trendy, open space with a beautiful patio and nicely decorated. Perfect for a quick breakfast or casual coffee and snack. We tried the pastry and tamales and both were fresh and tasty!
google avatar

Jessica Z.

Yelp
Such a clean, modern, and aesthetically pleasing cafe... The cafe is in a more quiet area, across from Sand Beach Park. There's some seating outside in the spacious area out in front, as well as clusters of tables in the back of the cafe. I got an iced bergamot tea latte with oat milk, and for the price (~$7 with tip) it was just okay, because a lot of the cup was just ice and the tea was gone quickly. It was nice and refreshing while it lasted... I also requested to dine in, but was given a single-use plastic cup anyway. Maybe there are just no glass cups available? Would be nice as an option.

Yelp
Good coffee but steep prices for what you get and bleh service! Manana is a clean and cute little coffee shop I've gone to a few times because it's close to Trader Joe's and the pedestrian bridge. It's always cool and crispy inside. They have cute gifts for sale but they're super expensive- like $14 for a chocolate bar expensive. The service is ok but kind of bleh. I was waiting to order and overheard the employees complain in front of me that weekends suck because more people come in. I've worked in food service and relate to this, but probably not the best to keep a customer waiting so you can complain about this in front of her. The drinks are ok but nothing CRAZY. They're also pretty expensive. I got a basic oat milk latte and paid about $7. I've also had an americano, which is usually a cheap drink, and paid about $5 after tip. They're not really creative with their drinks, too. You can add local alt milks (fronks) for PLUS EIGHT DOLLARS. what?? Is it made of gold? A $16 latte?? Might as well buy a jug of fronks at that point. I can't believe those are the real prices. For these prices, I really think the service should be impeccable and the drinks should be giving something you can't find elsewhere.
google avatar

Sandy Y.

Yelp
Came and stayed for their HH (4-7PM) and Live Music (Wednesday 5-7PM). Beautiful architecture with both indoor and outdoor seating. The HH prices for their tap was $6 (+tax) for two glasses. As for wine, $2 off pours. Worth a visit if you're in the area.
google avatar

Yiovani R.

Yelp
The good: *it's quiet & not at all busy *it's clean The Meh: *the service (I've been here 4 time's optimistic they'd be friendly b/c I really want to like this place). *The drinks... honestly you could get the same drink/price (maybe cheaper) at a much friendlier place close by. This is your place if you're looking for chill :) and little to no movement/distractions.
google avatar

Shradha A.

Yelp
Beautiful coffee shop with wonderful seating options inside and outside. Feels like a retreat in the middle of the city. Friendly staff. Excellent chai latte. Wish they had some gluten-free goodies!
google avatar

Lauren H.

Yelp
I didn't get a picture, but I went to mañana this weekend to get a coffee before walking Town Lake. I got an iced latte with oat milk and butterscotch syrup. It came out to $8.34 with tax and tip because the syrup was an additional $1 and the oat was an additional $0.75. The coffee was ok but not great and if I'm going to spend that much money, I want to love it. I honestly probably wouldn't go back unless I had a gift card.
google avatar

Mohit L.

Yelp
The vibes are nice. It's a nice place to sit and study it catch up with others especially if it's warm outside. The coffee and the food is alright. I tried the peanutbutter cup Cortado, it's really bitter, so you might want to add some simple syrup or sugar. I also had the matcha latte which was alright. And lastly the red oanda with oat milk which was my favorite. Overall good is okay but its an okay place for food and beverages.
google avatar

Liz G.

Yelp
Aesthetically pleasing coffee shop for the modern day coffee drinker. I ordered a vanilla latte and pumpkin spiced muffin. Pretty basic order, nothing special and would have loved to see more variety on the menu. There was ample seating outside and only a few tables carved out behind the coffee counter. I met some friends there and even though it was only 10:30am the music was popping (so much so that I had to really project my voice during our conversation) and the place was vibrant! Gray location to grab and go!

Emily M.

Yelp
I may be biased given that I live minutes from this coffee shop, but it's great. Their matcha is one of my favorites and they have really good merch!
google avatar

Slavizza G.

Yelp
The ambience and service was great they run out of many bakery items pretty early on weekends for their jalapeño kolaches are pretty good as well as their match
google avatar

Bailey C.

Yelp
We had a really poor experience here. We were eager to try it after loving the SoCo location. After walking in to a mostly empty shop, it took both baristas over 5 minutes to even acknowledge that we were standing in front of them (we were the only folks in line). My partner ordered an iced coffee and they gave it to him in a paper cup which was annoying. Pretty bad experience overall. We left super irritated vowing to never return. Really unfriendly place with B- coffee. They also marked up the price way high on all their beer/wine. We noticed they were selling a can of jester king beer for $12 when I've seen the same can of beer at HEB for $2.50. ‍

Natalia D.

Yelp
Great coffee and good vibes. They also offer matcha lattes and other coffee alternatives.

Vicky S.

Yelp
I am thrilled that Manana opened another location close to where I live. It's the perfect place for me to stop-in during my almost daily trail walk. Their coffee is some of the best in Austin (in my top 3) and their other offerings (pastries, cooler drinks, to go food) look wonderful. It's also nice to see that the outdoor seating area has undergone a vast improvement. The service is also excellent. =)
google avatar

Heberto G.

Yelp
I believe that my cafe Americano was so great because it picked up on the good vibes from the baristas at Mañana. My wife felt the same about her latte. Even the house made pastries were fresh and tasty. I can't wait to try their new location at the Seaholm District, it'll be just minutes away from my condo. See you mañana.

Susan A.

Yelp
erroneous charge on my receipt titled "employee fund". when i inquired with the Barista she nervously said she would refund the amount & went on to explain they are up-charging customers because they are poorly paid. The "employee fund" is not considered the tip. all very odd.

Carmen M.

Yelp
The worst service and the worst coffee. Wish my friend had read the reviews before we went in. Jeez not asking for a red carpet roll out but a friendly "hello" wouldn't hurt.
google avatar

Sabrina O.

Yelp
My sister and I love good coffee and mañana is our go to place here in Austin. Today, we ordered a latte and an iced matcha to go. The service was spectacular, and the baristas were so resourceful--when my sister mentioned if it was possible to make the matcha from scratch instead of having a pre made drink, the barista eagerly said she could make it from scratch for us. Beyond 5 stars, these baristas deserve the world. We've been regulars at both locations since we've moved to Austin, but we just had to leave a good review to this location in particular.
