On the Grid : Manaow Thai

"Thai food. It’s one of the many cuisines that has been gifted to this world and finds a comfortable home in Long Beach. As such, Manaow serves as one of its most reliable and formidable representatives. Despite the many, Thai choices that Long Beach provides - our foodie compasses typically point here. The service is always quick and kind, the ambiance is modern and unexpected, and (most importantly) the food is fantastic. Care for curry? You’re set. Need some noodles? You're good. (Stop, you know that’s not what we meant) Anxious for anything else? You'll be more than happy." - Down the Street Designs

Excellent Thai food. The fish dish is superb the flavors are really top notch. Prices are reasonable but portions a bit small guess that's the tradeoff. If you're a fan of Thai check it out really good. Order several dishes and share. Had pad Thai spring rolls, yellow curry, waterfall beef salad along with the fish.

Google

In late 2023, My husband and I, along with another friend, had dinner at Manaow. We arrived and were able to sit pretty quickly. I got a Thai iced coffee (extra sweet) and it was perfect. My husband got a Thai iced tea and it was bit too sweet for his liking but he doesn't enjoy sweet drinks like I do. I had a sip and thought it was pretty tasty. Everything we ordered was pretty good. We ordered the Crab cakes first and were surprised to see that the description included crab and minced chicken breast. They were good, especially dipped in the sweet chili sauce. We also got the Crispy Thai Spring Rolls which we good. For an entree I got the Mixed Fried Rice which was a traditional version and very filling. All in all it was good food and good service, the restaurant had a large party come in right after we ordered but it didn't delay our meal. Also parking is available in the lot directly in front of the restaurant and when that's full there is plenty of street parking around.

My daughter and I found ourselves in Long Beach to pick up a window. We decided to have lunch at this wonderful gem of a restaurant. I consider myself to be a foodie and let me tell you, this place was delicious. My daughter is kind of picky and to hear her ask if it was just her that thought it was better than other places we've been to or if I thought the same. I absolutely told her that the food we were enjoying was amazing. She ordered her go to usual Chicken Pad Thai dish. I ordered the Waterfall Beef Salad, a side of white rice and for dessert we got street style pancake. The combination of all the flavors in each of the dishes was like a party in my mouth. I highly recommend.

Our friends who are local in the Long Beach area took us here for early dinner and certainly didn’t disappoint and enjoyed every moment and food and culinary experiences we had! We started with their papaya salad, then crab cakes for starters then walked our way to the tamarind wings and other restaurant specialties. Everything was great, including their dessert ( sweet sticky rice with mangoes ) as well as their cocktail drinks. I personally enjoyed the one with lychees. Sorry I forgot the name. Service was great and fast! Our waiter was very knowledgeable and loved everything that he recommended. Located in the neighborhood of Long Beach height this place is quaint and intimate but definitely worth the drive and wait. Ambiance is modern and fun! Parking could be a challenge but we got lucky getting the street parking for free. I would recommend this for people that are looking for good and authentic Thai food in the area.

Google
Great Food, But Service Needs Improvement. The food was really delicious—flavorful, fresh, and well-prepared. However, the service was painfully slow. It took far too long to get our orders, and the wait between courses dragged on. If they can speed things up, this place would be a top pick. Worth it for the food, but be prepared to wait.

Went here for dinner with my family. Place is contemporary but the acoustic is poor so it's pretty loud at about 75% full occupancy. The food is pretty good though a tad Americanized. Highlights included kao soi, crying tiger and hat yai fried chicken. Portions are not abundant, which is fine so we got a chance to share many different dishes. Service was polite, quick and attentive.

Google
Highly recommended. The food was great, and they have a special drink which is come with a tester, and then you have to choose out of five tester . Peaceful environment inside and so nice outdoor sitting area with great service which I give them 5 stars. Absolutely delicious Thai food comes with fresh dishes. They have restroom inside and parking available in the lot. We went for lunch and we really love this place. The waitress was so friendly and explained their menu with patient.

Yelp
So I was craving papaya salad...on the hunt for an authentic Thai papaya salad or at least close to. Came with little family. The restaurant was cozy and open concept, the deco was simple & modern. I expected it to be Americanize but I peep at the reviews a little bit and was excited to try it. I told myself if it isn't ahhhh..at least I tried it. Ordered: Chicken wings Fried rice Papaya salad Fried fish curry Chicken satay drinks sample-tamarind juice But the comments were not all wrong..even though the papaya salad it's not umami & authentic enough the flavors of the balanced sweet, sour, salty was there. I love the papaya salad. The wing chickens were a hit with my peeps. The sticky but crunchy wings were perfect combo with the richness of sweet & tangy sauce. Got the fried rice combo and it was a perfect plate as it's not overwhelming the other favors of the other dishes. Chicken satay was also a hit with my boys. The catfish curry was very flavorful. The only thing is that I would have thought it was made frm scratch, passed by and saw the premade curry. Which was still good! We also tried the drink samples which when you taste the little shots of drinks you can pick the one you like the best in a regular size order. Love the food I'll be bck to try other items. The service was good

Yelp
We rolled up to Manaow on a mellow Thursday afternoon, stomachs growling and hopes high. Bonus points for parking--though it's limited. We arrived here around 4:30 PM and not too long after this place was packed with no parking spots left! So be sure to arrive early First impressions? Manaow is serving ambiance realness. The modern minimalistic decor paired with warm, cozy lighting was a nice touch. I highly recommend the following: 1. Tamarind Juice: Wow, I was not expecting this! Tart yet sweet, with a spicy rim that complimented the drink so nicely! 2. Tamarind Chicken Wings: Crispy, juicy, with caramelized tamarind goodness. I totally could have eaten 2 or 3 more plates 3. Mango Sticky Rice: Fresh, sweet mangoes paired with sticky rice cooked to perfection--this dish is proof that simplicity can be sublime. I nearly shed a tear. 4. Thai Pancakes: My first Thai pancake experience, and wow. Think sweet, crispy, flaky roti with just enough sweetness to make you swoon. Why haven't I had these before? Why wasn't I warned about how addictive they are? 5. Tom Yum Shrimp Soup: A warm, comforting hug in a bowl. The shrimp were no joke--plump and hefty, just how I like em The Pad See Ew. The noodles? Perfection. The flavor? Fantastic. But the meat? So tough my jaw grew tired of chewing :( Overall, Manaow knows how to wow. Between the beautiful plating, delicious flavors, and attentive service, it's safe to say I'm smitten. I'm already planning my return trip to explore the rest of their menu.

Yelp
Service was fast, food tasted very fresh and full of flavor. My favorite this time was the shrimp and green mango dish, they just did a great job with the marinade. We didn't get a photo of the northern style curried noodles because we ate it so fast. The place itself is pretty casual but cozy and clean. I didn't get to try any drinks this time but definitely will next time.

Yelp
My usual Thai spot on this street was closed because they took the Day After Christmas off and I was dying for some khao soi and I had also gotten khao soi on this same block, a few businesses down a while back, but it didn't compare to the one that was closed. And I noticed that just 5 minutes down the road, there was another Thai place that sold khao soi, so I came here. I liked the triangle lights on the ceiling. Wanted to get full so I also ordered moo ping. The dipping sauce was off the wall! The flavor was amazing! Elevated the dish like you wouldn't believe. So much so that I used my side of sticky rice to dip it in when I had finished the skewers. The main event, the khao soi hit hard. I had missed that broth taste since my last taste of it a month ago. Excellent food, excellent service. If my place is closed again, I know where I'm coming!

Yelp
Had a lovely dinner here with a friend on a Friday night! They had us wait outside and write our name on a list, which was pretty chilly on the night in question. It felt like they were understaffed, since a lot of people were waiting outside even though there were plenty of unoccupied tables. They have some 4 person tables and then two super long 12 person tables. Not sure if they cater to big groups, but this was an odd set up and likely part of the reason they had trouble seating people. Our waitress was great! I asked her if something was gluten free and she had no idea, but was able to bring me a list of all items that were gluten free. Would have preferred they just labeled these on the menu. I ended up getting the artichoke curry, which was fabulous! I have never had anything like it- very flavorful with tender artichokes. The serving they gave me was just enough, no leftovers, so I would say the portions are moderate to small. I would go back, but would bundle up for the outdoor wait if going in the winter.

Yelp
We got there when they just opened since I craved chicken wings early in the morning lol so we got both the crispy stuffed wings and the tamarind wings. I was sooo impressed. Wings are juicy. Both kinds are unique and flavorful. I love the stuffed wings a bit more. I made these before and it's quite a production to debone, stuff fillings and fry to crispy while keeping the inside juicy. There's nothing short of perfection for these wings! Then the drunken noodles. I love the spiciness. It's true Thai spicy lol and quite addicting. Can't stop eating it though my mouth is burning. Come to put out the fire are the drinks lol The Thai iced tea is perfect sweetness. Lots of Thai restaurants I tried have sickeningly sweet tea. But this one is super tasty and a cure for the drunken noodles. But then I got stuck in the unending loop of drunken noodles and Thai tea lol it was very satisfying at the end though. Oh we decided the Thai tea from trying the drink flight of tamarind juice, limeade, lemongrass, Thai coffee and Thai tea. Honestly, I'll be happy with any one off these drinks. They're really tasty and a great companion to the food. Other dishes we tried are duck noodles soup and green curry. There are both good but I got pulled back into the drunken noodles loop. Gosh, didn't I say it's addicting? LoL Anyway, there are more dishes to try but I'll definitely be back for wings and drunken noodles and drinks! Manaow is awesome! Oh and a walk to the beach after all this food is highly recommended lol only 12 minutes walk away from the shore, with breeze in your hair, Thai tea in your hand, Thai food in your big belly lol

Yelp
Overall it's a cute spot and the food is flavorful but the portions can be quite small. It's to the extent where in a big party I couldn't really eat a piece and get the full experience of each dish. The spot is busy though and that is usually telling of an authentic trendy spot which was all true. The service was quick and each dish was definitely unique to the restaurant. I just think the portions needed to be bigger! The prices were reasonable though!!

Yelp
We ordered from their lunch special. The food was flavorful m, service top notch. I would highly recommend getting the chicken, so crispy! However, I would skip the mango sticky rice, kind of a let down. The mango was sour and the sticky rice to mango is off. Not enough sticky rice to off set the sour mango.

Yelp
5 stars for food, which is the most important thing in a rating IMO. Good portion sizes and delicious flavors in every dish we tried. Some other considerations: --Restaurant size is small, so it helps to make a reservation --When it's not crowded, it's pleasant to eat there. When it's crowded, it gets very loud and hard to talk to the people at your table. --Family friendly bonus: high chairs available. But the wait time for food can be long, so that's a family friendly minus. --Parking lot is small, so you might have to street park in the surrounding neighborhood. It's a fairly short walk to the beach/Belmont Pier, so that's a nice way to walk off some of your meal.

Yelp
This place is great! We've been going here for many years now Great presentation, never disappoints We just get the regular dishes. Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Garlic Beef Ingredients are always fresh and flavorful We tried the Tamarind Eggs appetizer for the first time, it was delicious! They are hard boiled eggs that are then battered and fried, served cut in half with Tamarind sauce, Toasted Shallots, Toasted chili and Cilantro. Check out the picture! Everyone who works here is very kind and easy to talk to. Very knowledgeable of the menu options. The booths are nice and they have a big table for larger groups if you come with a party. It can be a little loud in there when it's busy The parking lot is a little tight, but they also have street parking if you have a big vehicle. All and all it's a wonderful restaurant We will definitely be returning

Yelp
Go to thai spot in LB! I find their food to be fairly priced and always fresh for pick up, but they also have a great atmosphere for dine in. Easy to access location with parking, and service is always quick and friendly. Some of my favorite pad thai!

Yelp
Cute casual modern decor. Was craving papaya salad so I came here to try theirs as I had bookmarked this place. They have one of the best papaya salads I've had in the Southbay/Long Beach area (khun 9 in torrance also super amazing). I got it spicy and lemme tell you this place is legit Thai spicy. I love spice and it did not disappoint. Toward the end my nose was running a bit and the outside of my lips were burning lol. Prob would get it medium if I was having it as my main meal again and spicy if I had some meat dishes to go along with it. Never had it with rice before but it paired perfectly. Also had their drink sampler. You get to sample Thai tea, Thai coffee, lemongrass tea, limeade and tamarind juice... and then pick one full size drink. All of the drinks were super sweet. I really liked the tamarind juice but I wasn't feeling how sweet it was and opted for my usual of Thai coffee. Will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Yelp
My go to Thai food spot in Belmont Shore. I'm a sucker for Pad See Ew. Manaow serves some of best Pad See Ew noodle dish in Long Beach.
google avatar

Yelp
This is definitely one of the best Thai spots in Long Beach. My boyfriend and I typically order take out but have also dined in. Both experiences have been great! The food is full of flavor and the employees are always attentive and helpful. I do wonder if they recognize me since we do take out often haha! Our favorite dishes are the pork belly, tiny cup shrimp, mixed friend rice, and the tum yum soup ( medium spice). Every time we say we need to try something new we end up with the same dishes because they never disappoint. This place is a must try!

Yelp
Manaow is located in a low key strip mall, so you might miss it as you drive by, but it's definitely worth the stop. They've got a lot of indoor seating and three tables outside if you want to dine outdoors with your dog. Staff is friendly and brought out a bowl of cold water for my dog. I tried their tamarind egg, a great appetizer for splitting with friends, and the southern style curried noodles. Both were delicious and super flavorful! The tamarind eggs are fried and somewhere in between soft and hard boiled, covered in a sweet and savory sauce, fried shallots, cilantro, and dried chilis. The noodles come in a thick curry sauce and is topped with crispy wonton skin, cilantro, fried shallots, chicken, tofu, and a hard boiled egg. Pretty filling!

Yelp
Ordered the pad kee Mao, pad Thai, chicken wings, and drink sampler. The pad Thai was on the sour side than I'm used to, so I didn't like it too much. The pad kee mao had a really good umami flavor that I really enjoyed. The chicken wings were super tender, crispy, juicy, and flavorful. Probably my fave dish here! The drink sampler was super cool! I would've never tried lemongrass lemonade or tamarind ice tea before, and both were super refreshing and tasty!
google avatar

Yelp
This is hands down the best Thai food in the area! I ordered pick up and it was done pretty fast. Parking lot was pretty full but lots of spaces. The staff was so sweet and everyone greeted/ smiled at me while entering and leaving. The young lady at the counter offered me hot sauce and napkins. The atmosphere was nice but casual. Everything looked cleaned and organized. My veggie Pad Thai was amazing! The flavors were balanced and the sauce was perfect. I also ordered crab cakes that were tasty.
google avatar

Yelp
If you're looking for great tasting Thai food for great value, this is the spot! They have a small parking lot too so parking isn't an issue. Tamarind Wings - hot, crispy, and juicy on the first bite! Sauce has perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy. Come with 4 whole wings and great to share! Drink Sampler - fun way to try all their drinks for $10 and you get a full size one after sampling them all! The limeade and lemongrass iced tea were really refreshing, but the tamarind juice was a little too spicy. Went with Thai coffee cuz I needed a boost that day Drunken Noodles - very savory with a hint of black pepper taste to finish, default is chicken with the lunch special Pad Thai - a little more sour than I prefer, but it has enough savory and sweetness to make me crave more bites, default is also chicken with the lunch special The whole meal was less than $60 and that's with drinks and appetizers. Simply amazing.
google avatar

Phi N.

Yelp
It wasn't horrible, but the food could definitely use more flavor and taste. Always a bad sign when you walk into a Thai restaurant and there are no Thai people eating there... We ordered the beef pad see ew, beef basil fried rice, and duck curry. The duck curry was the worst for me. I was not a fan of pineapple mixed in curry at all. The basil fried rice needs a lot more basil; maybe spices too. The rice itself was on the harder side (some people may or may not like that). The pad see ew was the most solid dish of the 3. -The restaurant seems to be well kept and very clean -Spiciest spice level is not very spicy -The jalapenos in vinegar seem as if they were just cut then and put into vinegar; they had a little kick to them but I prefer them to be pickled for longer -Limeade with honey was good, but probably wouldn't order it again

Yelp
This is hands down the best Thai food I've had well since visiting Thailand! It's a small spot tucked into a strip mall, so it's easy to miss, but definitely worth seeking out. The vibe is casual with booths and long bench seating. They don't serve alcohol and don't deliver, but pickup is available. The service is always friendly, and while we've never had to wait, I can see it getting busy during peak times. There is a parking lot right out front though it's pretty small but we've never had an issue. They also offer a gluten-free menu if you ask. A true gem for Thai food lovers!
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant has been around for quite a while and although I have driven past it literally hundreds of times I never noticed it tucked away in the strip mall next to the laundromat. When you enter you're transported to a modern and clean space with communal tables and seating for large groups. They do take your order and bring you food but they have a little robot that appears perhaps to take the dirty dishes back to the kitchen. The menu is extensive and also includes plenty of fun drinks (no alcohol) and lunch specials. We started out with the Crispy Thai Spring rolls which are filled with glass noodles, mushrooms and carrots and fried of course. I can't say no to glass noodles! Our favorite dish was the Seafood Curry, packed with large pieces of seafood and plenty of flavor. We also shared the Pad Thai with firm tofu. I'm glad that my aunt showed me this friendly neighborhood restaurant!

Yelp
Found this gem on yelp and I loved it! Manaow serves authentic thai food with such a wide selection of items on their menu. All of their dishes are packed with flavor. You can also request items to be made vegetarian/vegan! The inside is modern and cute. The servers here are very nice and attentive! My favorite is the thai noodle soup. They only have this during their happy hour but you can get their normal thai soup and add noodles when it's not happy hour. Their Manaow drink sampler is so fun to get. You get to sample 5 different drinks. You choose your favorite and they give you a full cup sized. We ended up getting the thai tea because it was soo good! I loved loved loved their crispy spring rolls. It was a crispy delight. Their grilled shrimps were so fresh, filled with flavor, and grilled to perfection.

Yelp
My friend and I decided to spontaneously stop by and we were not disappointed! I have been curious to try curry for the longest and I opted for the yellow curry in spicy flavor with chicken. Food: Though the curry wasn't nearly as spicy as I anticipated the flavor was still great. The curry contains pieces of chicken and potatoes and includes a side of white rice. The flavor profile was rich and flavorful. My friend ordered the Pad Thai and he enjoyed it as well. Service: The staff was quite attentive and helpful, our server regularly checked in on us and refreshed our beverages. Great hospitality and awesome service! Ambiance: The interior was clean and there are indoor seating booths and tables. The servers were cleaning tables and tidying up the dining room throughout my visit which goes to show how well maintained this local establishment is. I'll definitely be back to try their Pad Thai and I'd recommend this local spot to anyone in the area looking for some Thai cuisine.

Yelp
I love this place. Have loved it for years. Could have sworn I've reviewed in the past but alas here we are. The food is phenomenal the service is wonderful. This time around I got the tamarind eggs and my favorite, the herbed fish. So delightful and fresh. Had to get the Thai iced tea as well. The only slight downside of this place is the acoustics, it feels louder than it really is - but honestly it's not that bad. but the service and amazing food make up for any of that. I like the layout of the place too, it's simple, clean and options for family style tables or private. Love this place !

Yelp
Heard great things about Manaow Thai, so we went for dinner. The tamarind wings were amazing--crispy and packed with flavor. The roasted duck curry was surprisingly delicious with a perfect hint of spice and tender duck. The pad see ew had a great char on the veggies, noodles, and meat. We've found our go-to Thai spot in Long Beach! Can't wait to bring friends and family here.

Yelp
This was my second time eating at Manaow and it's definitely one of my favorite Thai restaurants here in Long Beach. While the service was pretty slow during both of my visits, even with the restaurant being empty, the quality of the food makes the wait worthwhile. During both of my visits I ordered the Fried Tamarino Chicken Wings which are so good!! Those wings are big and very meaty and definitely enough for two meals or two persons. On my first visit earlier this year I tried their Yellow Curry with Chicken Garee from the lunch menu which I thought was just okay and nothing to write home about. I felt the dish was somewhat watered down but then again I've never been a big fan of yellow curries. Today I ordered the Green Curry Chicken Klew Wan Gal which was exceptionally good and very spicy! I loved how all the ingredients paired so well together and definitely would order it again. 5 stars for reasonably priced delicious food, great atmosphere and friendly service! I'll be back! Enjoy and Bon Appétit.

Yelp
Southeast Asian cuisine is comfort. And comfort means food for the soul. As a first timer, I opted to try dishes that were familiar to me BUT Manaow managed to make these familiar dishes... their own. Flavors were fresh, herbacious, robust, comforting, spicy, tangy, sour. YUM. Friendly servers were attentive and made sure all was good. Restaurant location is 6/10 due to small parking spaces but don't let parking deter you from coming here for fantastic food. If you're coming with a crowd, be prepared to order more than 1-2 rounds of the same dish. Servings are more on the "eat alone" scale but nonetheless crowd pleasers.

Manny G.

Yelp
Awesome place to eat while doing laundry next door. Staff is very friendly and service is very fast. Food tastes delicious. A must try!
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
The food here is always top notch. You'll get Thai dishes that are not offered at other eateries. They have Northern Thai dishes and street food fare that you cannot get elsewhere in the city. Everything on the menu is great; you cannot go wrong with any choice. Service can be hit or miss depending on when you come but it's never horrible. It can get quite loud inside of the restaurant so if you prefer a quieter setting, try to come outside of peak hours or sit outside on their small patio.

Yelp
This little Thai restaurant was great! I walked in and immediately got a whiff of strong flavors and was super excited to eat here. The restaurant is in a small plaza in a residential area with a decently sized parking lot. I went in on a Saturday afternoon, after the typical lunch hours so it wasn't too crowded and I didn't have to wait at all. The servers were very kind and greeted us, occasionally checking in if we needed anything through out our meal. We ordered the pad thai, yellow curry (mild), and a side of brown rice and steamed chicken. They also had a lunch menu which all the dishes were $12! That menu didn't have all the items, but it included most of the popular dishes. I got the yellow curry, mild, because I can't handle too much spice. This had the perfect level of spice for me, just a little kick but not too much for someone who barely eats any spicy foods. I can't wait to go back and try more of their food!

Yelp
Food was amazing. Had the papaya salad, pork bbq skewers and the yellow curry. All the ingredients seemed to be really fresh. Modern interior. The only thing is that once it gets busy, the service isn't the best.

Yelp
On yet another foodie trip to Long Beach and LA. Short walk from Mark and Matt's, this place has very yummy everything! We started with Tamarind Egg's, not pictured cuz we all jumped right in! Very tasty. We had garlic prawns, green papaya salad, pad Thai (the dish you Judge Thai restaurants with and this one passed with flying colors!), parang curry with tofu and brown rice, Thai iced teas and mango with sticky rice for dessert. All perfect! And the robot table cleaning service is so cute!
google avatar

Yelp
Service, food and Thai teas are all 10/10 Chili sauce is spicy but not too spicy and it's in a great location off of Broadway. Good parking too.

Yelp
Been eating here since 2023. Such flavorful dishes. Everything form the young coconut, to spicy salads, to noodles is wonderful. I personally love the herbed fish and all soups and salads. I order everything spicy and they usually do not disappoint. Keep up the great food! Quick and courteous service, too!
google avatar

Aaron T.

Yelp
First thing I noticed when I entered was that the decor was very modern and not your typical Thai restaurant. It was moderately busy for a Wednesday night but we got seated right away. We ordered a drink flight, drunken noodles, pad Thai, and mango sticky rice. The drink flight is a good idea if you aren't sure which drink to get and want to sample them all. You ALSO get one full-sized drink of your choice which is great. I really enjoyed my drunken noods. I chose medium spicy and it was so freakin' spicy but very tasty. The pad Thai has the perfect combination of sweetness and tanginess. Mango was sweet and rice was nice and sticky lol.

Yelp
This is the best thai I've had in Long Beach! I go here all the time to satisfy my thai cravings. I haven't been adventurous because I always stick to the the main 3's which is the pad thai, pineapple fried rice, and mango sticky rice. The pad thai is what I order all the item for myself (it comes with chicken but I sub it w/ shrimp which is an extra charge) it's definitely worth it. Their shrimp is massive! and always cooked perfectly, I enjoy this protein in the food. My boyfriend orders the pineapple fried rice & again since I am not a big fan of chicken we just removed it and the beef and shrimp were so great together. It had pineapple, cashews, shrimp, beef, egg, and topped with cilantro. I am a pad thai connoisseur and I am very picky with mine but manaow nails it all the time, their noodles are bouncy, fresh, and not too salty/umami as some other pad thais are. Also attention to detail, they add cilantro to both dishes, lime to the pad thai & cucumbers to the pineapple fried rice. Mango sticky rice is a must!!! If you're gonna try something from manaow I would highly recommend the mango sticky rice, so flavorful, mango so sweet, ugh I just love it! I also tried their thai egg roll and my boyfriend and I loved it, they are a perfect appetizer, they came out so hot and crispy! We also ordered their thai tea (not pictured) which was delicious. I actually called the restaurant considering it was a Saturday night & I was promptly answered and asked about the wait times and the person even asked how many is in my party and was able to estimate a time for me which I appreciated. To sit down (when busy) is through a sign up sheet in a podium and your name gets called. The service is great as many servers were checking up on us and asking if we needed anything else. It's very cute and clean inside, more of a modern look, they have long tables and booths to choose from as well as outdoor seating. I love everything about this restaurant.

Yelp
We stopped by here when visiting Long Beach and it didn't disappoint! We originally were waiting in the virtual queue at Chiang Rai but had no idea how long we'd be waiting and were quite hungry, so found Manaow on Yelp and decided to give it a go! It's a cute little hole in the wall in a tiny strip mall-type setup, but inside the decor is cute and modern. For 2 of us, we ordered a crispy pork and Chinese kale dish, shrimp glass noodles, and yellow curry. Our server was friendly and thoughtful when we had questions and the service during our meal was attentive. The 3 dishes ended up being perfect for us. I enjoyed the glass noodles the best out of them all! I wasn't a huge fan of the crispy pork and Chinese kale dish, as it just had a bit of a burnt flavor to it for some reason. But overall, quite happy we came hungry to no wait on a Saturday night!

Yelp
I go to Long Beach area alot to enjoy the beach and the food scene, but it was my first time at Manaow and I was not disappointed with the food. The restaurant is in a small strip mall with limited parking, but it is near a residential area so there is plenty of street parking. My party ordered the Chicken Satay, Pork Moo Ping, Beef Panang Curry, and Pad Thai. We were planning on eating light, but the portions were a bit smaller than we expected. However the flavors were amazing. The restaurant is a bit crowded so it got pretty loud at one point, but overall I would say it is a great date night restaurant with good prices. The reason I am giving Manaow a 4 star is because our food came out very late. We waited for over 40 minutes for our food to come out, and people who came in after us got their food first. I don't think this is a normal occasion, and they just forgot to put in our order, but because we were on somewhat of a time crunch, this was a minus. Other than that everything was perfect, and I do think I will be introducing this place to my friends.

Yelp
This place is so cute! Very hidden in a small parking lot next to a liquor store. You wouldn't guess there's a restaurant. The decor is modern pleasant atmosphere to dine in. I had the pad see ew vegetarian style which came with broccoli, cauliflowers, bok choy, carrots, and cabbages topped with eggs. Very tasty! My friends and I tried the flights of non alcoholic drinks which consist of Thai tea, Thai coffee, lemongrass, tamarind, and lemonade. Absolutely love the Thai tea one. Our servers were nice. I would revisit again. Great place to eat at!

Yelp
Our friend, who lives down the street, recommended this spot. What a refreshing and delightful place for authentic flavored Thai dishes. My wife and I came here for lunch, craving fried rice and curry. The server was friendly and patient with us when we took our time to order. We ordered, also, chicken pad thai in addition to the combo fried rice and yellow curry. The flavors are very authentic and true to Thailand and do it well with justice. We were seated right away, but within a half hour, it was pretty busy. The bussing cart was, in fact, a robot AI and pretty cool to spot and look at. Anyway, enjoy. Delicious!

Yelp
Recently came here with a reservation for a party of 7 and it was really good! The service was attentive and the interior of the place is super clean. Even when I called to make a reservation they were super polite and kind over the phone! They have two long tables in the middle, so this place is definitely great for large parties. It's also small so it wasn't too loud, so it was great for conversations and not screaming at each other from across the table hahaha. Favorite dishes of the night: Herbed Fish (Miang Pia Tod) 10/10 - The fish was perfectly crispy and flaky, and the sauce was what really put it on top. All the vietnamese parents LOVED this one and ranked this the best herbed fish they'd ever had! Fried Tamarind Chicken Wings (Peek Gal Nam Makam) 9.5/10 - The flavor on these wings were soooo good, and the wings were so crispy. I wish they put the sauce on the side to dip as well for convenience when sharing with others. Also they were a little bit difficult to eat and cut when left whole which was our only ick, but they do give you a knife to really hack at the chicken wing. Pad Thai (9/10) - Super duper sauced up Pad Thai with great flavor, we really loved this one, but the noodles were a little too overcooked/mushy. However, I would still recommend getting this dish because not many other thai places have flavor like this. Drunken Noodles (9/10) - Also super good! Much better than other places we've had, and the noodles were super flavorful. Khao Soi (9/10) - Honestly I haven't had Khao Soi that many times so I can't compare it to others, but I thought it was a really delicious dish! Love the curry flavor and it was seasoned well. Other dishes we had: Pineapple Fried Rice (7/10) - The fried rice wasn't seasoned enough and lacked flavor :( It was still good but it didn't blow our minds away. However, the portion for this was larger compared to the noodle dishes. Tom Yum Soup (7/10) - Tasted really great but it was a little too sour and salty! (coming from someone who usually loves things over salted) Mango Sticky Rice (8/10) - Your standard mango sticky rice!

Yelp
We like the interesting dishes here: betel leaf wraps, duck curry, duck salad, pumpkin custard. Lemongrass tea was also unique and good. The restaurant is small but quite clean and neat. It's the best Thai restaurant I've been to in the area.

Yelp
Take out November 15,2024 The Good : upon entering the cafe =Great smells! Lots of happy looking diners. All the food tastes were as good as the smells. Staff competent and friendly. Prices not cheap but U definitely get what you pay for. Tip: The Serving sizes were generous =Family Style"/ group dining or Very Tasty leftovers. The Challenges: This cafe is VERY Parking impacted = try to "gig"and use the small parking lot as "drop/get" Alas: this area is very popular and sadly attracts "evil' doers...(like other popular areas -4th st./ Belmont Shore) Will continue to enjoy this xlnt and authentic cuisine... and ride our bikes next time.

Yelp
Customer service is always great and I'm never disappointed with my meal. I wish they can add Uber, Door Dash or delivery.

Yelp
I'm always looking for a good Thai restaurant. They offer many interesting dish that I haven't never eaten. The chicken wrapped in some leaves was simply amazing! Usually I don't like chicken, but wow, it was so good and Thinsulin approved, green light. Now, the noodle soups aren't the best I have eaten. It's good, but a bit salty. The crispy pork was very good, but it was breaded and cooked like a pork cutlet. The service was excellent and the place is nice and clean. I would definitely come back to this restaurant.

Yelp
TOP TIER ONE OF THE BEST THAI RESTAURANTS IN LONG BEACH. Words cannot describe how delicious the food is here. I was left speechless. My friend and I ordered the khao soi and pad thai and both were so bomb. Highly recommend ordering the tamarind chicken wings because the skin is perfectly crispy on the outside and the inside is nicely cooked and moist. The sauce on the chicken is on a whole other level. We asked for more of the sauce so we could pour it on the pad thai because it was just that good. I also ordered a Thai tea which was also very bomb. Besides the food, the restaurant itself is so nice and the workers were very helpful and kind. Without a doubt I'll be coming back very often.

Yelp
Ordered the pad thai vegetarian style and Tom kha soup vegetarian style. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. The service was super quick too, and it's a very cute space inside. Highly recommend! Glad they've got parking out in front too.
