Where To Get Indian And Pakistani Delivery in LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Amar Desh is a halal restaurant on the outskirts of Koreatown. At first glance, the menu looks fairly similar to others around town, but the magic lies in the “Chef’s Specials” section. Here is where you’ll find an incredible East Indian-style roast chicken marinated in yogurt and bhuna, a savory tomato and bell pepper-based curry that comes with either eggs or tilapia. The entire menu is available for delivery and takeout on all major platforms." - brant cox

Google
WORST Chole Bhature experience of my life! No flavor, no effort, no quantity — just a sad excuse for a dish. If this is their idea of North Indian cuisine, it’s an insult to street vendors who actually know how to cook. Avoid this place like the plague unless you’re into culinary disappointment. 👎🤮

Cheryl Jackson

Google
What a great little find! Authentic Indian food that’s absolutely delicious at a very reasonable price. This is a no frills place, so if you’re looking for atmosphere, this is not your jam. But the food is the real star here. Most dishes are offered in mild, medium or hot. Friendly wait staff, too! I’ll definitely will be returning soon, if only for take out.

James Sawyer Ford

Google
The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was full of authentic flavors and perfectly cooked. The staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for amazing Indian food and warm hospitality. Will definitely be coming back!

Google
Had best experience ever for a store. They were closing and and we ordered food and they had pretty much every option and served food happily

Prince Shah

Google
The Indian restaurant provided an exceptional dining experience. The lamb korma I ordered was exquisite, with tender meat and a flavorful, creamy sauce. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff ensuring a pleasant meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Indian cuisine and excellent service.”

Google
"Manas Indian Restaurant in LA is a culinary gem! Exceptional flavors, aromatic spices, and friendly staff create an unforgettable dining experience. Must-try dishes: Butter Chicken & Vegetable Biryani. A delightful taste of India right in the heart of LA!"

Prabhava Bhat

Google
I went to this restaurant after 7 long years. The last time I went to this place was while studying at USC. It’s not tasty as it used to be looks like. I had liked the Biriyani very much the last time I ate here remembered the taste , may be Bay Area restaurants offer better tasting food that my tastebuds have gotten used to. The service is okay, not bad not great.lots to improve here. The prices are good. Close to USC. Ordered Biriyani and Pakoda The Biriyani is more like Pulav was decent not great Ambience is fine The place is clean

Erick Sanchez

Google
Amazing vegetarian option my favorite is the Biryani, definitely is a great place to spend with your friends and family!

Yelp
Visited back in October 2021 for dinner. Cozy place, though a bit dark. Got the Chicken Samosa and Manas Special Curry. There was also a buffet section at the back. Good food.

Yelp
The food blows me away. The value of the lunch specials is amazing and my favorite is the coconut chicken curry! I tried for first time this week and will be coming more since I live in walking distance. It's really calm and peaceful inside on most days with nice music playing
google avatar

Robert V.

Yelp
The food is good but where tf is the chicken!!? This is only half the rice l had to throw away after running out of small pieces of chicken. This place is ripping people off!!
google avatar

Vanessa R.

Yelp
3 stars are for the food for sure! But damn I wish the customer service is friendlier. I always feel like they just take your order and be done with you. Give a smile or interest jeez I'm all about tipping doesn't matter how I'm taking my order, but act like you give a damn.
google avatar

Jesus S.

Yelp
First off omg where did the chicken go ? Can't believe how stingy they are with the portions of chicken on both my items and the taste not authentic pretty nasty. Ended up throwing the food away not even my dog wanted to eat it
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant is in USC's free lyft zone for students so we were excited to finally try it. Overall, it was pretty good. The prices are pretty affordable but that perhaps is because the portions are kinda small. The butter chicken and the house special chicken curry were both very good- flavorful and tender! You should order their naan as a side - they serve it hot and fluffy. The tandoori chicken was yummy too. Worth a try during free lyft time by USC!

Yelp
Checked this restaurant out during a Friday lunch and chose to dine-in by myself haha. The restaurant was empty, but there were people coming in and out to pick up orders. A lady took my order and she was nice. I ordered the garlic cheese naan, rice, and butter chicken choosing the mild option and I really liked them all. The mild option wasn't spicy at all, which I preferred. The only thing I would critique is the small portions of chicken in the dish, which included only 6 average sized pieces in total. I finished all of this on my own though and it was still really good. The restaurant has a nice and casual ambiance. The restaurant is also located on a street corner where there's not a lot of good parking, so you'd have to park on the side streets. Overall, I'd come back again to try other food on the menu.
google avatar

Antonio Q.

Yelp
(ORIGINAL POST) Some of the menu items are good, especially the garlic cheese naan, but others leave you expecting much more! (prices are fairly ok - but, portions have gotten smaller) The chicken tikka masala chicken should be thicker, and the sauce also a bit runny compared to other Indian restaurants. The WORST part is the staff. They are rude and pushy! With 40 minutes before closing, according to their posted hours, they're forcing you to take it to go! Don't patronize this place... they're selfish. Zero customer service! (UPDATED POST) It has gotten better, especially with the food and its value. You can also find unique food items well priced in its market at the rear to the right.

Yelp
Yummy biryani , went with my GF who is south indian & we were both impressed by the cuisine

Yelp
So delicious. I have a temp job in the area for the next month and I've been coming nearly every day. I'm going to be so bummed when it ends and I can't come here for lunch. The Mana's special curry (vegan) is so good, definitely my favorite of the three veg-based curries I've tried. Samosas are so good. Even their mint chutney is better than what I've tasted elsewhere. Reasonable prices too.

Yelp
We ordered several dishes as a little Diwali treat for our son and his friends! Manas really delivered! They were nice enough to deliver as well on short notice to USC Village. We ordered naans, rice, butter chicken, chana masala and samosas. To be safe, we ordered everything on the mild side. My son has some spices at home in case he needed it to be more spicey. We were very happy to learn that everything was a huge hit! The food was very tasty and the kids gobbled it up. The curries were not over-powering and had very good flavor. We know where to go when we go and visit and it's not too far from campus either! Thank you so much to the Manas team for a wonderful meal!

Wendy C.

Yelp
Delicious food, the young lady working there was very attentive and even recommended dishes to try. They have a great lunch special that leaves you satisfied

Yelp
I've ordered takeout from here before and enjoyed the food. This was my first time actually dining in and I guess not many people actually sit down to eat, because the man working seemed confused when we said we wanted to dine in. Once we sat down we were given menus and then a couple minutes later we put in our drink and food orders. Our server informed us that dining in would be about a 35 minute wait for the food, because the kitchen is busy fulfilling pickup orders. A couple minutes later we were given water cups. About 25 minutes later we got all our food. We got many dishes to share and enjoyed them all, and basmati rice was also served with. Vegetable Samosa: This came with two samosas and was served with chutney and tamarind sauces. A perfect appetizer to share. Garlic Naan: So good! Definitely order some to use for the curries. Aloo Gobi: Cauliflower and potato curry. Great choice for vegetarians. Chicken Tikka Masala: Solid choice. We got it with medium spice and it was pretty hot. Tandoori Chicken: Tender and perfectly cooked chicken with good flavor. Shrimp Curry: Delicious and flavorful. Manas Special Chicken Curry: This one was my favorite curry, I loved the coconut milk flavor and spices. Mango Lassi: Yummy! If you love mangoes, you have to order one. While the service isn't necessarily the best for people dining in, I thought the food was delicious.

Audrey P.

Yelp
Solid, good food, very nice service, they also have a store with assorted Indian sundries. It's nice to see all the USC students coming to get a piece of home. I enjoyed this place very much and will come back again, especially for their Naan bread, fresh veggies and lamb vindaloo.!

Yelp
So I'll preface with this, we've been ordering from this place for years, but as of today we will no longer be ordering from mana's. The portion sizes are LAUGHABLY small. I'm tired of being ripped off. Management- please address this issue internally, as it's apparent that this is an ongoing issue for a lot of your customers. The food is delicious, consistently. But for $15 i should receive more than 5, 1"x1" cubes of chicken.
google avatar

Bianca S.

Yelp
My 3rd time ordering from this location and the food is so flavorful! Absolutely love eating here!

Yelp
A-MAZING! & Delicious! Service Is Top Tier; Always Checking Up On You. Ambiance Is Always Clean & Tidy.
google avatar

Berline R.

Yelp
The flavor in the food gets a 5 star and that's because it was a latino man cooking Indian food. Keep in mind I have been seeing this place for a while and decided to come by since it had several reviews. The food took a while to be made which I was prepared for. But in the other hand the portions were definitely an issue. I ordered a chicken tikka Marsala and it came with 5 cubed chicken pieces and note it comes with rice and even that was small portion. Definitely dissatisfied with the amount of food I received. I don't mind paying good money for food but at least portion out the meals properly. The garlic naan was amazing and soft it was def one piece cut in half for about $3 a little on the pricy side and definitely portions was an issue. Overall good food but portions are not fair. Paid about $20 for an entree and naan that wasn't enough for one person. Maybe for a child but definitely not an adult.

Yelp
Found out no more lunch buffet, thanks pandemic. Food is average good. Wait time for food a little long. Portions a tad small for the price, thanks gentrification. But hey, I support small business and will come back at some point.

Yelp
GREAT FOOD! Briyani Chicken, Shrimp or Lamb. Chicken Pakora, Garlic Naan, Cheese Naan. What are you waiting for for? Order Now

Shruthi C.

Yelp
Horrible service here and definitely not recommended. The guy at the restaurant banged plate as if we've come for free meal. Such a disgusting attitude.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid Indian place for those that live in the USC area. I used to order from this place every now and then during my college days and I've always been pretty happy with the food. FYI, this place does delivery too! My favorite is the Manas Special Chicken Curry. I love curry with a coconut base and the chicken is just so tender and juicy. The Chicken Tikka Masala is pretty good too. If you're looking to pig out they have a lunch buffet everyday that's decent.
google avatar

Eriko M.

Yelp
Mmm probably 3.5 stars. I ordered through ubereats. I got the gobi manchurian, spinach onion pakora, butter chicken and shahi paneer. I was sad they didn't have the onion bhaji so I decided to try the spinach onion pakora. The gobi manchurian was slightly more liquidy than what I am used to. Flavor was there but the liquidy/soupy nature threw me off. The shahi paneer lacked depth. I was somewhat disappointed in these three dishes. But the butter chicken was great. It was flavorful. It came with large chunks of chicken that was cooked well and not stringy or dried out. Very satisfying. Portion is pretty good. These three entrees and one appetizer lasted me 4.5 meals.

Daksh P.

Yelp
I love the Chicken Biryani they serve here especially the spicy level since it matches what actual Indian cuisine tastes like.
google avatar

Jay B.

Yelp
Ordered chicken Tikka masala and received this. 12 dollars for less then half a chicken breast. Definitely not worth the price and would not return here. I didn't get any chicken in my Chicken Tikka Masala and what I did get was overcooked and chewy. I am so angry I spent my money here! This was my dinner after work and there is nothing in it.
google avatar

Scott F.

Yelp
Manas is a special little place. Their food is excellent and their service is kindly. The eating area isn't that special but there's a little Indian grocery section that I adore. You'll enjoy it.
google avatar

Rob G.

Yelp
Best Indian food I've had in LA, service is friendly, portions are large and fresh. As a bonus - there's a store attached with Indian spices you can buy.
google avatar

Cassandra C.

Yelp
I ordered Manas from postmates during the COVID-19 lockdown. I ordered a butter chicken, chicken tikka kabob and veggie samosa (comes with 2 pieces). The total was around $40 which included tip. The food came later than expected, but all's well as it was delicious. The butter chicken came with several large chunks of chicken, and the curry was perfectly creamy and delicious. I decided to get it mild. The veggie samosas were filling and I enjoyed the red and green dipping sauces that came with it. They did forget one of the rices (we only got 1, each entree was supposed to have 1 each), but I understand it must be crazy times right now with the lockdown. I would order from here again. Thank you!

Yelp
Food portions have decreased, service is abysmal, the naan is dry and crackly, food tasteless honestly just giving 2 stars cuz it used to be good and I feel bad cuz it's a small business
google avatar

Allison V.

Yelp
We love this place. We often go in for lunch and we also order for dinner once in a while. Love the samosas, chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, and naan. They used to have a lunch buffet but since the pandemic they've retired it. Also great people! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Salvador D.

Yelp
Their food is extremely tasty and well made. I just feel that the portions are way too small for the price. Their service is good, depending on the day.
google avatar

Emi K.

Yelp
So delicious! I am very very happy with the quality. The butter musala has the perfect amount of spice! You get a lot for your buck here :)
google avatar

Yelp
Simply love place, great good, friendly service, and the mango lassi is my fav! Chana Masala

Mayra D.

Yelp
Love the food and very reasonably priced. I have never eaten at the location. Service has always been great and accurate.

Yelp
Omg bummer that this restaurant has gone downhill on their food. Everything use to really good and now everything was NOT tasty at all, really bad taste yuck!. What a bummer, this is a restaurant that went higher prices lower quality. They've lost my business. Please if anyone has another Indian restaurant to replace, please let me know. Thank you
google avatar

Yelp
I've come here a couple times now since coming to attend USC for a few months, and as a super close location to campus, it's convenient, parking out back (or street parking), and offers a solid Indian lunch buffet. It's a hole in the wall type of place, so don't expect anything fancy, but the selection is reliable. They may use a little too much cream or sugar in the tikka masala, and way too much syrup in the gulab juman, but other than that everything is pretty great for ~$10 on a weekday lunch (not including tax and tip). Some of the things I can remember from the buffet: Chicken tikka masala, lamb curry, saag paneer, tikka paneer, lentils, and aloo ghobi. Service is good and they bring you fresh naan to the table. Of course you always order a la carte if you'd like too.
google avatar

Adanma N.

Yelp
Mediocre at best. I'm trying to look for bomb food in Los Angeles and this was a let down. I got the paneer tikka masala and garlic naan. I was excited because the entree came with rice. But lemme TELL you, I was extremely unimpressed. The garlic naan was undercooked and limp. No flavor at all. The paneer masala. Issa no for me dawg. I counted and they only put 5 piece of paneer in my dish. And it was not flavorful at ALL. I got medium spicy and it was honestly spicy for no reason. No rich flavor at all. Waste of 15 bucks to be honest.
google avatar

Joel C.

Yelp
The lady in the daytime is rude. She might be the manager/owner but she doesn't care about customer service. I tried using their promotional discount and she said she wouldn't do it because it didn't benefit her business losing money. Said if I had a problem to speak to the owner. To be honest the food is good but over priced so the discount makes it somewhat fair. There's better indian restaurants with reasonable pricing and better customer service.
google avatar

Kelly C.

Yelp
Nice little restaurant right by USC campus! They offer free delivery if you order a minimum of $12 so it's pretty nice for university students! They do take longer than average to prepare your food so don't be too hungry when you stop by. We ordered the garlic cheese naan and the okra and tilapia entree. If you check in on Yelp, you get 15% off one entree so be sure to remember to do that! The Naan was my favorite but there wasn't a hint of garlic on it and I hoped the bread would be warmer in general. Also, for 4.95 it was slightly on the expensive side. The okra entree was nice and spicy but didn't quite have the kick I wanted for a medium spice level. Overall, it was average but the restaurant wasn't too busy so it was nice and quiet for a Monday night dinner!
google avatar

Andrea L.

Yelp
I ordered takeout on UberEats and the rice is so dry and the butter chicken is pretty bland and super hard and dry :( I had high expectations but it was so bad
google avatar

Peijean T.

Yelp
The food here is tasty, and the menu is extensive with great portions for a reasonable price, but the service is way too slow. I previously ordered takeout from Manas through GrubHub and decided recently to try dining in at the restaurant. On our recent dine-in experience, there were only 4 tables seated on a Saturday night. We waited an extremely long time for the food after we ordered it. When the food did arrive, the naan and paratha were lukewarm. The food was still tasty with good portions. They appear to use MSG in the food because when I got home I passed out for several hours since I am sensitive to MSG and it makes me sleepy. What was cool was that the restaurant is connected to the market next door. We wanted to buy some Indian groceries, but because the food took so long to arrive, we ended up just eating our food and then leaving, since the parking meters out front only let you park up to an hour and our meter expired while we were there. It also took a long time to receive our check. There is not a lot of competition for Indian food in this area as this seems to be the only Indian restaurant near USC.
google avatar

Simmy B.

Yelp
One of the rudest places I have ever been too. They have no customer service, no patience, and could really careless about your business. This place blows my mind on how little they care about providing good customer service. The woman there has this "I don't care" attitude and literally waves you off! This is the only Indian store near campus so I have to go sometimes but if you have a choice, steer clear of this place. They don't care for your business.
google avatar

Natalia J.

Yelp
Writing this in the very long time while I was waiting for the food to come (almost 40 minutes long), I gave it one star. The service wasn't that friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant was incredibly dark. The music was playing so loud that I could feel the bass reverberating in the seat. When I tried to use the check in discount, they tried to dispute it and say that it was only for takeout. It also only specifies one entree is 25% off but when we tried to use another check in for another entree, they disputed us again and said it was only for one table. We asked after 30 minutes if our food was on the way after watching them pack 20 to-go orders. They weren't very kind about telling us our order was in the works and basically told us to wait our turn because they were busy. The butter chicken was the only good thing out of the four things I ordered, Raita being the worst because I ordered it and they charged me at the end but they never brought it out. They made mistake after mistake unapologetically and after the entire hour of waiting for our food, they still didn't bring everything we ordered. The cheese naan had uneven distribution of cheese so one had a ton of cheese and the other three pieces had almost no cheese. The palak paneer was very subpar as well, honestly the trader joe's frozen meal does better. I would Not come again and you should go to Himalayan House instead.

Yelp
I've been going to this restaurant for years, the food is usually great and there's plenty of it. But this afternoon something got messed up. I don't know if it was different staff, but I phoned the order in and it took them almost 40 minutes to prepare it. And then when I got it home it was a lot less food than they usually serve. The lamb tikka masala only had five small pieces of meat in it, same with the butter chicken. It was only one piece of garlic cheese naan and one piece of plain naan. I ordered saag with Paneer, but that never even got cooked but at least we didn't have to pay for it. But it was not much food and it was $38. i'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt this time, but if I ever get another short order like this for such a considerable amount of money, hey I will post another bad review and be I will never go back again. I certainly hope they will make it "right." Also my brother commented that the restroom was filthy and had a bad smell in it. I'm not sure what's going on, but I was very disappointed with the entire experience.
google avatar

Angel X.

Yelp
The food is certainly on point and the price point is certainly unbeatable Although I don't love the way the interior is set up, I do enjoy the food once i've made myself comfortable. The classics are great and their offerings at the buffet are great, the naan they provide is wonderful and the chutneys are certainly made well. That said, I wish the service was a bit more personable because other than the quality of service and the appearance of the restaurant, this is definitely a great spot for well made indian food. Great spot for food given the price and the location
google avatar

Johnna F.

Yelp
Ok I'm going to try to put this as nice as possible because the servers and host were wonderful very nice and helpful. Now why did I give it three stars? Because that was the nicest thing about this restaurant the food was atrocious, I really love Indian food. Like LOVE it, and this was not it, everything I ordered was bland, just didn't have any Indian spice flavor. The bread was the best thing I ordered. I don't know if it was an off day but it was enough for me and my family being ok with not going back.
google avatar

Nutan S.

Yelp
Food is very good. Love their special curry the most. Not a fan of their Bhindi masala. Naan was good.
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
I only came here during the lunch buffet when I was at USC. You get to try a whole bunch of the different items for the same price as the exact same entree for dinner. They have a really good butter chicken it's so rich and creamy it can be addicting. Chicken tiki masala is good too. Curry is tasty but not the best I've ever had. There's also a lot of veggie based options which I cannot remember the names of for the life of me. Favorite is the lentil one tho. You only can get regular naan unfortunately. If you want the garlic naan it's an extra charge. Most Indian lunch buffets I've gone for the same price of $10 aren't like that. Also missing samosas which I could get at several other Indian buffets. Still a good option if you're in the Usc area because it's your only decent choice if you want Indian. Outside of the area there's lots of other Indian restaurants with better buffets.

Yelp
Food was good .Mango Lassi was amazing but no AC or ventilation.Recommend but take out.
