Yelp
this restaurant made me want to live locally with all the conversations that occurred in this establishment.
It's one of those restaurants you can go take your partner to, but also go alone to complain about your partner and someone will lend an ear, and they will probably counter with a crazier story to make you feel better. You'll feel like you're part of the family dinner you never knew you needed.
I visited this noodle house with my partner, who has the personality of a beagle (but a 6 ft beagle, kind, quiet, shy.., he's my shy houseplant, ok? I probably not complain about him anytime soon.. but we'll see, he might bring home a homeless raccoon, might visit soon to talk about my chaotic sister lol.) Anyways, my partner has the salt tolerance of a snail, and I cannot take too much oily foods.
The food itself is a perfect complement to the lively atmosphere. The noodles are satisfyingly chewy, and the pancakes strike that delightful balance--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside--without a hint of salt overload. Enjoying the food without feeling like you've just taken a swig of the ocean is refreshing.. The way it took my at words away, I swear it was like love at first sight speechless, or fall-off-the-monkey-bars-on-your-back speechless. The beef roll was the thickest beef roll I've had and I feel like I climbed into the pureland (i felt like i reached enlightenment. from a beef roll. yes.).
Visiting this restaurant felt like a family gathering seeing my eccentric cousin, listening to his wild stories quietly with good food that's not overly salty and oily bc auntie be fearful for your blood pressure and cholesterol.
This place isn't just a meal; it's an experience. The owner recognizes your face after one visit. They do take out, but i recommend eating in, he might just show you a picture of his few-month-old daughter, AND be treated to the best Chinese food (best I've had in ages), and honestly, I'd come back just for the family vibe alone (without the fear of being commented on your weight like my real family :')).
I hope you had some days off since we visited early October!
