A go-to for Sichuan dishes and hot pot, led by Beijing-born owner Sally Liu. Featured by Tulsa World for its authentic flavors and expanded digs, it’s a reliable pick for chili-forward classics and handmade dumplings.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My first time at Tulsa Mandarin Taste and I am blown away! Truly the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. Every dish was absolutely incredible—Michelin-level quality. The flavors were perfectly balanced, the presentation was beautiful, and the service was friendly and attentive. This place is a hidden gem in Tulsa and I can’t wait to come back for more! #TulsaEats #MandarinTaste #ChineseFood #Foodie #FoodLovers #HiddenGem #MichelinLevel #BestInTulsa #FoodieAdventures #TasteOfTulsa

Several of the dim sum items we tried to order were mysteriously not in stock despite us arriving only minutes after they opened on a Monday. The service was great, though, and while the atmosphere was a little cheap in terms of fabrication, it was certainly clear that they put in effort to make it look culturally relevant. Would return again for their fried rice, Singapore noodles, and custard buns.

Flavors were amazing! My tongue has never felt like that before. The numbing sensation was unique and really different when I took a drink of water. The Szechuan Spicy Chicken With Pepper Corns was a neat experience, but I think I’m going to try something else next time.

I absolutely loved my experience here! Our waitress, Jessica, was absolutely amazing & such a hard worker. If she wasn’t attending to our table, she was wiping off tables & chairs. I was very impressed by her! The portion sizes are massive! Food was delicious. They use real meat & not the thin rubbery kind that most Asian restaurants around here serve. You could tell it was freshly made. I really appreciated that they not only had a changing table, but a toddler seat in the women’s restroom so moms can use the restroom without worrying about their child. They also have a sign that says they offer feminine hygiene products available at the front. Mouthwash is also available. They thought of it all! The ambience of the restaurant was great. We will definitely be adding this to our date night rotation!

This is gonna be a long one…. My friends and I were here last Wednesday, Aug. 27 for a farewell dinner for one of our friends. They sat us in the dining room with the view of the patio outside. They told us that there’s also a party of 18 coming and we’re like, “That’s fine”. We were having such a good time that the owner came to our table and told us “We can’t be too loud because there are people coming”. I mean, we were laughing but I don’t think we were that loud that the whole restaurant can hear. So she told a party of 7 to not be too loud but we didn’t see her tell the party of 18 to not be loud. Other than that, the food is good and our server was nice. We just don’t appreciate that a small group were told to not be loud and not the bigger group.

This was a perfect meal, from the friendly smile and greeting when we walked in, to the delicious leftovers the next day. In between was good service, fabulous fragrant flavorful food served in a nicely decorated restaurant with an upscale feel. I have not been in any other Chinese restaurant in Tulsa that is more comfortable, has a nicer indoor dining area and such a large patio. The restaurant is first class. Even the to-go bag for the leftovers was above the ordinary. The delicious looking Spicy Water Boiled Beef with Vegetables, on the restaurant’s online menu, spoke to me. That was my choice. In the restaurant, I got side tracked by the Cilantro Chicken. It was a perfect meal for me, but it is not for everyone. You better like cilantro, ginger, garlic and hot chili peppers. If you do, here is a meal that you will remember. All of those ingredients are stir fried with small pieces of white meat chicken and black beans. This is a fresh piquant aromatic plate of food. You can taste every savory flavor. An amazing balance of spice. Yes, I loved it and the leftovers. My wife had one of her favorites Coconut Chicken. It is was one of several great lunch specials. The generous main dish comes with your choice of soup, (the hot and sour is excellent) two eggrolls and your choice of rice. My wife loved it! Check the pictures. I was surprised and pleased with the dining experience. Nice restaurant excellent food. Spicy Water Boiled Beef with Vegetables, on the next visit.

Google
Just got home from Mandarin Taste and I must say… it’s good. Real good. You can scan a QR code and order from your table. It’s a little hard to figure out at first, but once you learn the process it’s really fun. You can still order regularly though from a menu. Very tasty dishes and all cooked fresh to order. Definitely give them a try.. it was really good with unique flavors.

Yelp
Every city I move to I find my one restaurant I love and visit regularly. This place is my JAM. Fantastic food, everyone is super friendly, and every time I take family or friends here they love it. My favorite is the cilantro beef/chicken, though everything I've had is great! Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
Terrible. I placed a to-go order and it took them 1.5 hours to make my food. I assumed it would be awhile so i waited 30 minutes but when i arrived i waited for a full hour at the restaurant for my food. They checked on me but they didn't seem to be in any rush... and the worst part is they weren't even full. I expressed my concerns when i was paying for the food when it eventually arrived. They threw in two egg rolls and 4 rangoons... I'm sorry but my time is not worth those mediocre fried food. I've never been treated as poorly as then.

Yelp
Great food and great atmosphere. Food came out quickly and staff were friendly. We have already been back once after visiting the first time. Looking forward to visiting in the summer and sitting in the outdoor area.

Yelp
This is the tail of 2 dishes and our experience was a mixed bag. On one hand, the orange chicken was amazing! Maybe the best I've ever had while their Dan dan noodle was the worst I've experienced. Weird flavor. We ended up just sharing the orange chicken. Which was fine by us because the portions were huge!! The staff was very friendly and attentive. The interior is well decorated and upscale feeling but the music selection was jazz, great for a steak and martini but did nothing for the rest of the wonderful atmosphere. The staff did comp the dan dan. We will be back but a few changes could make this place stellar.

Yelp
Classy, excellent service, and great food sum up Mandarin Taste pretty well. I am surprised by how beautiful the restaurant looks. I love everything about it from the parking to the outside patio and to the inside. Every table has a centerpiece of fresh flowers. To me, the restaurant is immaculate. The service was truly exceptional on this visit. The server was attentive, friendly, and efficient. The menu at Mandarin Taste is extensive including traditional Chinese entrees, a little bit of dim sum, and hot pot. I would say the dim sum is lacking and doesn't have a lot of items. The hot pot is expensive. The pork dumplings in spicy sauce were delicious and so was the black pepper beef on hot plate. The beef was a little sweet but it had a good taste. The tomato egg drop soup was okay. The portion size of the entrees was large. A little pricy but not much compared to other Chinese restaurants. I am not sure why the review of Mandarin Taste is so low but I would definitely recommend. This is one of the few restaurants I would not read the reviews before trying. It is a lot better than what's being said.

Yelp
The food was great and authentic! The only thing needed was better portion sizes I feel like something the portion size were a little small for the price. I do not recommend the matcha ice cream it was really gritty and had fatty cream chunks. The service was great our server was really attentive and didn't bother us but still took care of us well. The restaurant itself is very nice and decorated well, really a step up from the old location.

Yelp
Outstanding Asian cuisine, like I've eaten while traveling overseas. This is not your typical Chinese-American buffet style food.

Yelp
Been here several times great food service nice ambience for date night! Staff is friendly and welcoming. They will answer any questions you have about the food.

Yelp
Having lived in China this is the most authentic Chinese place in Tulsa by far! My wife, who is Chinese, agrees. We have come to Mandarin taste since its conception. We haven't been here in a year and trying out their new location was like enjoying fine dining. The atmosphere was beautiful, the food presentation amazing, the service professional, and most important the taste of each dish was phenomenal! They have only gotten better and better over the years.

Yelp
First of all, it was one of the only places open on a snowy cold day in Tulsa. Our service was very personalized and they suggested a hot green tea which was actually perfect on a cold day. My wife had the orange chicken and I thought it was fabulous, especially because it is white meat chicken I had the cilantro beef and it was perfectly cooked and amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
Mandarin Taste offers a delightful experience with its standout dish, the black pepper beef on a hot plate--perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The crispy duck is a unique option, though I might not order it frequently due to other appealing protein choices. The lower prices of other protein options that I like better make me feel like "cool, I tried the duck, it was decent, I don't need to do it again". The chicken fried rice was tasty and they don't skimp on the chicken . The veggie lo mein is lovely, especially with its sizable broccoli chunks. Efficient staff ensures hot food, although friendliness is basic. The clean and inviting ambiance adds to the overall appeal. While some claim it's the best in town, I'm still deciding, but it's certainly among the top contenders.

Yelp
Lovely ambiance. It's nice to see an Asian restaurant that's moved away from the typical waving fat buddha cat and red accents decor. This place is elegant and modern looking. Cons: Unnecessarily expensive. The food is average Chinese at best. Our table wanted to try dishes we hadn't tried before. Big mistake. Maybe it was too authentic for us. Stick to the basics. Where it falls flat on its face is service. Most Chinese restaurants have the same service that Americans consider "rude" and "harsh" and "abrupt". It's the same here. Don't know why I was expecting something different maybe due to the nice decor. If you are lucky enough to get the local server at your table- I'm sure it would be a more pleasant experience. Let's just say we didn't. We've tried to convince the kids to give the place a second chance. They've refused every time.

Yelp
I've been here once before at their old location so I wanted to check out this new location. Love the new building and decor. Very nice! We ordered the pepper steak, pineapple sweet and sour chicken, taiyaki. I loved the pineapple sweet and sour chicken! The only thing I would change would be to not cut the pineapple so close to the core because most of the pineapple chunks were really hard. The pepper steak was way too tender for my liking. But the flavors of the sauce was really good. Our server seemed like it was his first night? Food came out fast.

Yelp
The food is so good The fried chicken has immaculate flavor i prefer their rice over their noodles after trying both! Their outside seating is beautiful / shaded. Have already been back 2 more times since this visit!!

Yelp
The restaurant is really pretty. It's bright and open which I love. Beautiful inside and a nice outside dining space too. The staff is friendly and helped me with entree selection which I appreciated. The dumplings were so yummy and had just the right amount of heat. Spicy black bean cilantro chicken has a ton of flavor! So glad I went with mild to spicy for this dish. Large portions meant leftovers for a second meal...winning! My friend got the orange chicken and it was delicious too. My son enjoyed her leftovers. He's a teenager and not always easy to please. I cannot wait to go back and check out other items.

Katherine D.

Yelp
This place was clean, a great ambiance and the food was yummy! Service was great also! We had orange chicken, house lo mein and chicken dumplings! All so good and family style dining, so much food! And I'm a bit of a snob about fresh food, this definitely was fresh!
google avatar

Yelp
This place has a fantastic menu! If you like Szechuan, definitely try here. We had delivery. Kung Pao was great. This gets mangled in many places but the sauce was great, and NO ZUCCHINI which ruins it in my opinion but every place seems to have now. Black bean Cilantro chicken was delicious! Very unique flavor. Spicy Red Mountain Beef-not for the faint of heart but was delicious. The beef was slightly chewy in a good way. Hot and Sour soup wasn't just okay, it was really good. Great place! I asked for extra hot and got it.
google avatar

Yelp
We've been meaning to try this place and finally dropped in. And we were pleasantly surprised. It was really good flavors. I mean, Lo Mein noodles can be kinda boring, but this was really tasty. The veggies were crisp and not over cooked. The Kung Pao was pretty good too. I ate it all as you can tell. Sorry, I was so hungry I forgot to snap a pic. Here's the big question. Would I come back????? Yes I would. I would like to try the Hot Pot next time. I think they may not offer it every time because it wasn't on our menu. But everything considered, I gave it 4 stars.

Yelp
We finally tried out Mandarin Taste after getting several recommendations from coworkers. The ordering process is a bit different - there was one waitress in the restaurant who came around to check on us and explain how to order online. Once you add menu items to your online cart, you then "check out" and send it to the kitchen to be made. Our waitress was very helpful in explaining the menu to us and suggesting things we might like. We started out with pork and shrimp dumplings. They were pretty good, but not very flavorful. We love dumplings so we had high expectations coming in. I also tried the Chicken Coconut Curry which included dark meat with some veggies and rice. This curry flavor was really unique and buttery. It wasn't exactly my cup of tea, but I could see why others enjoy it. If you like dark meat, I would definitely try this dish out! One thing we really liked was the sauce bar where you can make your own sauce. My husband and I each made a unique sauce with all the flavors we liked. We weren't overly impressed with the food, but service was good and we enjoyed our experience.
google avatar

Kym B.

Yelp
The food was excellent! We had the orange chicken. Love the thin slices of orange peel infused with the sauce. I tried to arrange the perfect bite each time... a piece of slice of peel with every bite because it added a lot of flavor. Rice was a bit dry. We ordered cream cheese won tons for an appetizer. The sauce was so good! I think those were the best part of the meal. Service was very friendly and fast. I like all the bathroom had mouthwash. Lunch menu comes with an appetizer and soup, but we decided to split which was more than enough for two people and it's actually cheaper than the lunch menu. They also have pastries. Next time we come back, I want to try the pineapple chicken because I noticed other people eating it and it looked amazing. Also, the to go bags and the to go containers are very high-quality. They also have a really nice outside eating area very well covered very nice decor and also they have an umbrella rental, which was really neat.
google avatar

Crystal C.

Yelp
I wish my husband would stop eating here. He likes their broccoli beef. I no longer like anything on this menu. They usually mess up my order in some way. Forgetting items, making things too spicy, etc. long wait times for to go food. 30+ minutes when you call on the phone. 50+ minutes when you order online. Convenience fee when you order online. they are very expensive. Rude service in person and on the phone. Eat somewhere else. The dumplings and hot pot are better at 100° Celsius. The food is better at Gigi's.

Aurora I.

Yelp
The food is always fresh, and has amazing flavor. The service is usually kind, Yang is always cheerful and she's an amazing server, very personable. Ambiance is cozy! I love it !
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered the Chicken Fried rice again. This place is certainly consistent. Is price leave a little to be desired however they are consistently busy, so that probably won't change anytime soon. Their food is fantastic, service was a little slow. But they were friendly.
google avatar

Julie H.

Yelp
The new location is so nice! It's very pretty inside and outside! Overall our food was good. My friend and I shared the shanxi noodle, eggplant with sweet and spicy sauce, and mapo tofu. We had also originally ordered the dim sum platter but were told they ran out, so we got the Hong Kong barbecue buns instead. The buns were very dough-y. I probably wouldn't get those again. But the other dishes were tasty.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Food is delicious and never makes me sick afterwards. The service is always great and we never have to wait too long.

Yelp
Mandarin Taste is so so so good! The staff is amazing and the food is so tasty and fresh. Definitely a top restaurant in Tulsa.

Yelp
We love this place! So far have been twice at the new location at 91st and Sheridan. We liked the food at the old location but the atmosphere is way more upscale at the new location-but not too dressy! We love the hot and sour soup and the kimchi beef fried rice but there are lots of great choices. This is one of our favorite spots now

Collin W.

Yelp
Been here two times, first time had really slow service. Second time I walked out cause no one came to our table after waiting 10 minutes.
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant was worth the hype!! All foods were delicious and service was great. We ordered and tried several different dishes

Yelp
Adorably decorated for the holidays. Super clean dining room and lovely atmosphere. We started with vegetable egg rolls and pork dumplings. All fresh and delicious Husband ordered hot & sour soup and we all had a bite - delicious! Kung Pao Chicken, Orange Chicken, Ma Po Tofu and Spicy Shrimp on hot plate. It was so delicious and well presented. So much food! Fantastic experience, we will absolutely be back, Great service too!

Yelp
Service 1/5 Food 3/5 Price 2/5 Came here for lunch today and it was quite busy, but we were able to get seated quickly. The restaurant was quite big with plenty of table seating. First thing I noticed was that the printed menu was all in English, which was perfectly fine, but I suspected this place caters to more of an American palette. It's better to scan the QR code at the table to get an expanded menu with photos, which was very helpful. We weren't too hungry so we got the dim sum 4+4, Yangzhou fried rice, hot sour soup. dim sum - you get 4 pieces of pork "soup dumplings" and 4 crystal shrimp dumplings. Pork had zero soup and the flavor was mid. The shrimp one was average as well, nothing special. Both weren't hot. Sad Yangzhou fried rice - now I typically would not order this but for some reason I wanted it today. It was a little bit oily, probably from the Chinese sausage. The CCP party probably would not like the addition of bean sprouts but heyyy living on the edge..I like your style. This was decent. Hot sour soup - one of the guests said it is his favorites from anywhere. Bold claim! I don't like hot and sour soup but guess what? My wife approved and said it was pretty good. For a foodie with a more experienced palette, I would advise trying their Szechuan dishes instead, which looked way more authentic than the rest of the menu. The service was bad. We had to ask for chopsticks, extra bowls and small dishes for the sauces. The servers didn't come by to check on us at all. I understand you were busy, but you need to do better or add more staff. Price wise, I've been to plenty Asian restaurants and I would say for a restaurant at this level, most of the dishes were overpriced. Perhaps the prices on the Szechuan dishes were fine, but the Americanized dishes were not. I mean, the clientele clearly does not care and The business seems to be quite good, so kudos for knowing their target audience.

Yelp
My first time trying Mandarin Taste. We went on Sunday at 11am. As first timers the server was very accommodating to our group as we had lots of questions. The seating was not crowded which I appreciated! There was a separate bar area that also looked spacious. We settled on the pork dumplings with spicy sauce and cheese wontons as appetizers. Both were very good! Our main dishes were steamed dumplings, chicken lo mein, pork belly with steamed buns. I'd read the reviews that the food comes out separately as they are done. This was actually fine with us. It didn't seem to be a problem as we were all sharing our entrees. I would for sure like to try the hot pot next time! I can see why they have a strong loyal following!
google avatar

Carissa G.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place because I heard great things but I was disappointed. Edamame was not seasoned. Broccoli beef was good. The shrimp dumplings were bland and too chewy. Egg drop soup was alright, they don't give you wonton strips. Lomein was tasty but I've had better. The main thing was the food did not come it fresh and hot, it got cold very quickly.

Yelp
Incredibly good! Guys if you come here I highly recommend you try something different than orange chicken, Chinese food is not just about orange chicken! We ordered Pork belly with jalapeño, it's incredible. And the pickle fish! My boyfriend try this fish the first time in his life and he's already in love!

Judy F.

Yelp
All the food I have tried is tasty and is presented well. It was hard to understand the waiter but we made it through with persistence. The ambiance is beautiful.

Vann W.

Yelp
Really really solid. Great Dan Dan and the beef shank raps are incredible. Get the hot pepper beef too.

Yelp
Go and get the Szechuan food. Yang we love you if you are reading this. Favorites include: Sweet potato noodles in Szechuan broth Hand torn cabbage Stir fried pork belly and jalapeño Shan xi noodles Bok choy and garlic And Yang

Yelp
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! We were first time customers the customer service was extremely disappointing because this place came highly recommended. We arrived at 8pm they don't close until 9:30pm. The server outside was locking up the tables and we politely asked could we be seated at the table that was not locked and she told us "yes!" We walked on the inside to be seated by the hostess only to be greeted by the most rude woman whom happen to say she was going to be our server instead, she was visibly upset that we ask to sit outside and proceeded to hand me menus and silverware and told me to seat myself. I was taken back by the gesture and comment and also just her blatant rude behavior to a customer! We went outside and sat for 5 minutes before anyone came out the rude server ended up sending another server (also rude) out to the table with two waters. I asked the server should we just sit inside to receive better service and also just be treated properly especially since that is the most common way to handle a customer at a restaurant. He was super passive and dismissive about my question at that point we just got up and left. The restaurant is beautiful and the ambiance is very nice. I give people the benefit of the doubt and understand people have "bad days" we all need grace but their behavior was unacceptable and unnecessary. Usually this reflects leadership and I would hope they receive the proper training on how to handle guest and if not they should find another career!

Steve C.

Yelp
Got an order to go to have the next day. Everything was packed up nicely. We had for lunch and it was the best Asian food we've ever had. Still have left overs.

Yelp
Those Szechuan green beans, but watch out they are spicy! Traditional, authentic Chinese food. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time. I got the house special lo mein. It was A-mazing! The dish had the perfect amount of flavor without tasting overly salty like some places. They bring the dishes out as they are ready. Service was good. The new location has a really nice feel to it and the decor was nice. Will definitely be back again!

Yelp
My husband and I have been going to mandarin taste for years now. We loved eating at their old location, but since the new location opened up, we've been even more blown away. The atmosphere is beautiful, beyond clean, and the tables/seating are perfect for conversation. It's a welcoming restaurant and the family I've brought has been impressed. The dishes we most often order are the pork dumplings, ma po tofu, pork belly buns, cheese wontons, and most recently the lamb on a stick. When I first started coming I was very used to the Chinese restaurants I experienced in Connecticut. The spices here are a lot different because the food is Szechuan style. When we first came years ago, we didn't know what to get but after trying the owner's recommendations, we were thrilled with the different flavors and options. I would recommend going in person, asking what you should try first before you switch to takeout. The takeout and delivery they offer always arrives hot and fresh and they're on our normal rotation! Delicious and different than any other Chinese restaurant in the area. They've increased their staff since moving a ton, they've hired many new servers and hosts. I'm writing this review and they've only had these new folks for a few months. Ask questions and be patient and kind as they begin this new journey. You absolutely won't be sorry that you tried them! I've heard that folks had a bad experience on Christmas. We went on Christmas Eve and had a WONDERFUL time. Yes it took a few more minutes, they were also the only restaurant open in the area and had table tops of very large parties (we were in a room with two other parties of over 10 people each). If you go out to eat on holidays, you've got to expect longer wait times and just be kind. The servers, chefs, and hosts working were hustling, they just had a massive demand. Again, be kind, put things into perspective and try them again. Delicious food, lovely people, 10 stars if I could give them!

Yelp
Food was very sweet and not savory. Seemed off. Hot and Sour soup was OK. Not bad. Not great. Egg rolls mushy. Yuck. Wontons sweet cream cheese. Not my favorite. Service was not good. Three in our party and they brought food for the two of us but not our third. It took over 15 minutes to get their attention and then another 15 to get food for our third. They didn't refill waters regularly and pretty much ignored us. No offer to make it right or any apologies. Disappointed. This was a place I really hoped would deliver. Not so. Won't be returning. Overall food is average at best. Service needs work.

Wesley D.

Yelp
The food is great, but check your itemized receipts. I was charged an extra $40 for something I didn't order and when I went back the next day I wasn't shown the itemized receipt or issued a refund.

Tiffany H.

Yelp
I have never had Chinese food that tasted so good! The food and service were amazing. We got there just after 5pm and several people were seated and when we left there was a wait. The cheese wontons were had the best flavor I've ever experienced. We got the sesame chicken and Mongolian beef as our meals and they were both to die for. The beef was so tender and the chicken was so flavorful. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. We will be back.

Yelp
I have eaten here a few times. Dishes that stand out for me are the Pineapple Sweet & Sour Chicken, Coconut Curry Chicken, Sesame Chicken, and the Sweet Black Bean Pork in lettuce wraps. My main issue here is they only have spring rolls and no proper egg rolls. Everything else is great! Our experience with the service has always been pleasant as well.

Yelp
Amazing food, service and ambiance. We usually sit outside when it's not 100degrees and it is so pleasant. Yang is an amazing and wonderful staff member who is kind and makes the entire experience even better. If you are on a tight time frame, make sure you ask for all your food to come out at once. The house Lo mein is amazing along with the pork dumplings in spicy sauce.

Yelp
Woman was on her phone the whole time open waiting on my order did not go in the back and ask if order was almost done
