Mandito's Tex-Mex

I don’t understand why this place isn’t packed all the time. Y’all are sleeping on a treat! Food is very reasonably priced and delicious! Chips are homemade, salsa is fresh. Y’all these refried beans are the best I have ever had. They are similar to the refried black beans at Merida Mexican Restaurant on Navigation (IYKYK). Servers are friendly and there is a great drink menu and bar. All right in the center of Cinco Ranch. Highly recommend!

Definitely should have more people dining in. Lunch special is a great deal and the food is so good! I usually get the “el Mateo” and it’s always a great plate. The queso was a little thin but I like the thick chips! It can handle all the dips and give the most satisfying crunch! The salsa is top tier and the drinks are 10/10! Definitely an underrated Tex mex restaurant!

Took a group for lunch yesterday 12/23.2025. Everyone loved the food and the service was spot on. The Manager Alex is awesome. Fun, hot, fast and great food with generous portions.

I can't say enough about the wonderful experience we had with Mandito's. They catered our staff holiday party and went above and beyond to make us feel like VIPs from the quality of food to the menu choices for those with dietary needs. Alex Curley and his team seamlessly took care of everything. I was so grateful for the attention to detail and constant communication that helped everything run so smoothly.

I got the Baja taco very good may suggest you get the verde creame so good great service too

Finally a great gin cocktail with Mexican food. The food was super light and delicious. Very flavorful and they aren’t joking when they say the best chips around. The whole concept was done exceptionally well and gives the high end vibe. The first day server kinks will absolutely be worked out in the first 2 weeks but the food is so amazing I’ll be a regular for sure!

Me and the wife came by here on a Tuesday night between from 5:45pm to 7pm and the place was dead! Besides us there were only two other tables the whole time we were there. I'm guessing they are going for a Modern Tex-Mex thing but it is not working. First everybody working here was very nice, but the place just didn't have a Tex-Mex vibe to it and the food wasn't very good. It wasn't bad or nasty it just wasn't very good. I'll start with the chips and salsa. The chips were too thick and the salsa was sweet and not spicy at all. To top it off no salsa verde. The queso was also too thick and just tasted off, maybe been sitting in a warmer all day? On the menu they have "twice fried refried beans", now I didn't know what they are doing with these beans but they have to be the worst refried beans I have ever tasted. The texture they are not smooth at all, they look like Taco Bell's taco meat! And have a bitter taste. I didn't think any of the food was seasoned right amount, some of it too much seasoning and others not enough seasoning. But even with that said the flavors were off. I honestly just think they are trying to hard to do something different, and it's not working. I hope they can figure it out because like I said they were nice people and the place was very clean. Oh and I saw another review complaining about cabbage so over the plate, this is very true. I'm used to a little salad on a combo plate but this was overkill.

Felt like eating Mexican today for dinner, decided to come here for the first time and enjoyed it! I would rate it 11/10. The waiter was also really nice and I enjoyed eating here today! The overall staff also was really nice! Great place to come with friends and family!!

I've been disappointed in the quality and flavor of the food they offered, been there a few times. After yesterday, last time going there. Ordered Alejandros a combo meal with a cheese enchilada, hard shell beef taco and a chicken fajita. The cheese enchilada absolutely zero flavor just topped with cheese and nuked. The beef taco was decent an the worst was the chicken fajita, chicken was overcooked tasted like the remnants of a grill, no flavor and extremely bland. No sauce or even cheese. Simply chopped up grilled chicken rolled into a flour tortilla. Only upside were the homemade chips and salsa.

Is this the same Manditos as the one in Round Top? The one in RT is the worst mexican food I've ever had. Hopefully this one's a different restaurant.

This place is a big NO NO. The food didn't have any taste. You couldn't tell if you were eating Mexican or a hamburger for that matter. The service was fine until the moment my son was almost done but I was still eating. The waiter came to my son and asked if he wanted to take what was left. I felt annoyed because I was still eating, and that is rude. I told him to please wait because I was still eating and he went away only to come with a box. No regards to my petition to wait while we were still at the table. He went away and then, in a very passive aggressive manner, another one came and asked "is everything done here?" I responded "Are we in a hurry here, what is happening?" He said that everything was fine and went away. Only two minutes passed and they brought the check. If you are asking yourselves: NO I DID NOT LEAVE A TIP. I went there to enjoy quality time with my son not to be rushed to swallow the tasteless food they served. The tip or should I say MY TIPS come from quality service not to be bullied into swallowing fast enough for another customer hence another tip. Don't go!

Place is nicely decorated & staff is nice. But food is mid at best. Bland, not true tex mex. I was disappointed considering plates average around $14, which adds up quickly if eating with family. They seem new so they might want to rethink the recipes. I would skip this place.

Impromptu lunch date with a co worker led us here! Ambience was really fun and inviting, but when. I walked in during a Thursday lunch hour, the restaurant was practically empty!! Usually when the restaurant is empty during the lunch rush. I get nervous! lol... not sure if they're new to the area and trying to make a name for themselves but either way, I walked in through the to-go side, and when I walked up the host stand, no one was there initially. after a few minutes someone finally came and greeted me. Sat down and ordered a Mango agua Fresca with a touch of cinnamon flavor. I was hesitant so the staff member was kind enough to make me one and if I didn't like it, they wouldn't charge me for it. It was a really great gesture for a first time patron! I ordered the enchiladas suizas and absolutely loved the moist, soft flavorful shredded chicken inside, but I wasn't really a fan of the cheese and sour cream on top. My co worker ordered their pick two lunch special for $9.95 - comes with rice and beans as well! Overall, it seems like a good place but we were in a bit of a rush and it did take some time to get our drink orders in as the server took awhile to come around...and everyone raved about the chips....persobal preference, I like warm salsa and really thin chips, even if they're precut and premade.

The food was alright, but our waiter was really cool! He had a silly little radish shirt, served with a kind smile, and even opened the door for us on the way out. 6/10 experience

I was really expecting more from this place based on the location and the cool vibe as you enter! Server was nice but had to send two items back for not being correct, one item had to be sent back twice :/ The food was ok, not excellent, but not terrible. I will say the chips were great though! Margaritas were limey to me and tiny. I don't expect to come back but definitely you should see what you think!

This is a 3.5 star rating. The restaurant is decorated very nicely and people here are extremely friendly. Lots is staff also! Freshly made chips are awesome! Guac was good but could use a little more seasoning. Prices are good too. Wife had a chicken salad and I had beef and chicken fajitas. We both thought there was really nothing special about them both. Just both average. Maybe other items on menu are better.

Food and drinks were great. Service was excellent. Love the location. Recommend you giving them a try.

I used Yelp to find the place - lunch special pick two different items - all this food with chips and salsa for $12 amazing! Great flavors and service - will come back!

1st time trying this and very impressed! The lunch special for $10 is a spectacular deal. I'm extremely full and happy. The flauta is stuffed to the brim with chicken. The tostada is crispy on top. The corn is delicious and I love that it has corn and peas. The margaritas were also beautiful and tasty. You can also make them spicy. Service was great. We were a big party and they got everything out really fast. The managers kept coming to ask if we needed anything. Very friendly. The inside looked really nice and the outside patio where we sat was very chic.

Came in today for lunch and had the lunch special, great deal! Had a great server, Ryan, he is a very pleasant young man and very attentive! I work close by so I will be back. Thanks, Ryan!

Today I drove all across Katy to Manditos, just for their chips. Took a big baf home as Mama made her famous guacamole! Absolute BEST chips in all of Katy. Cheese enchiladas were excellent too! Manager Frankie was most hospitable, helpful, and friendly. EXCELLENT margaritas too! Highly recommend!

Food and services as awesome, Timothy our server was so attentive. We came during a busy brunch hour and the staff was on point. We were sat with in 10 min of arrival

I wish I could give this place 6 stars. Our waiter, Ale, was absolutely amazing. We went with our three kids and he had so much patience with us. The food was delicious and the margaritas are amazing. There was live music outside by the green space and plenty of area for the kids to run around while we enjoyed our meal which was a big plus.

The service was good, place was clean and the chips were good. The guacamole and the queso were just ok. our food(chicken tacos, nachos, beans, enchiladas) lacked flavor and we were confused as to why the plates were so hot but the food wasn't, out food was at best room temperature. The rice had veg in it that was a bit raw. No one finished their food. They just opened i think, so maybe this is just kinks they have to work out.

I cannot say enough about how good this new place is! This is my favorite Tex-mex now. Everything is so fresh and yummy and I love the colorful modern decor. I love the salsa, fajitas, tacos, kids meals, generous portions. The female bartender with long hair makes the best classic margarita. The staff is outstanding, especially Rocky. They go above and beyond and have a policy not to say no. Go there.

Tried this place this weekend and was so happy! The classic margaritas, cheese enchiladas, beef nachos and just the chips in general, were sooo tasty! Can't wait to go back!

Nope. My $15 burrito in a bowl would have included ground beef. I upgraded to shrimp for $3. For which I got 4 small/medium sized shrimp. 4 shrimp would have been an appropriate replacement for what I should have gotten instead of beef. To charge an up charge for 4 bites of overcooked shrimp, absolutely not. 6 shrimp I wouldn't have noticed, but 4 was a slap in the face.

Our whole family loves Mandito's. They have the friendliest staff, best refried beans anywhere, and awesome spicy margaritas. Food is amazing and the restaurant is always clean. Chips and salsa are our favorite from any restaurant. Can't go wrong with anything you order.

The service was good. The food was ok. The layout of the restaurant is trendy. I don't understand why the owner did not put a real Mexican restaurant at this location, it would have done much better. But ‍.

When I walked in I was immediately struck by the bright colors and lots of customers sitting for dinner at 7:30pm on a Friday night. Understandably, our young server was flustered and forgot straws for our margaritas after we had to ask twice... She also forgot to bring a spoon for the charro beans after asking and we had to ask a second time. We started with the Beyond Beef nachos which I am glad they offered! Yet the kitchen forgot to substitute the refried beans containing lard for vegetarian beans... I was fine with this but was only confronted by a concerned staff member about it more than 5 minutes after the plate hit the table. The real downer was the thin flour tortilla... they were not made with love. Even "tex-mex" tortillas should be fluffy. The portabella fajitas tasted fine but I was shocked when a young man brought a tray with 2 huge, steaming plates for the table next to us. He looked flustered as well and without a tray stand, he placed the tray at the empty seat in-front of me! I was fine by this but just concerned at the lack of preparation for the heavy and hot plates. I hope the management is better able to prepare the staff for their dinner rushes. This place has potential but needs improvements. Also my grandma was disappointed by the quality of the tequila in the $10 margaritas.

Ok let's start with the Pro's..... Our waiter was attentive and we immediately ordered chili con queso with beef! The chips, salsa and queso were great! That's where the Pro's ended! Now the Con's... my daughter and myself both ordered the Carne Guisada. I have to say the food was pretty bad and had very little meat( carne) in the guisada VERY disappointed! The plates themselves are VERY overpriced at $23 per plate for for what you get. Very little food and actually a bad value for the Guisada! We love Carne Guisada so we know what it should be and the average pricing. I should have asked before I ordered because the menu had no price on this plate. That's my bad however I have NEVER had a $23 Carne Guisada plate!!!!! Completely crazy and overpriced! Buyer beware! Then I ordered my wife a Mixta fajita plate ($33 way overpriced) to go. I was hoping the best when I got home. The mixta fajita plate had beef, chicken & shrimp and I live 10 minutes from the restaurant so it didn't get cold before I got cold. My wife immediately asked to eat so I gave her the bag of the to go food. She immediately told me there were only two tiny shrimp and very little beef in the plate. Then she said the chicken fajitas were super dry. I purposely did not tell her about me or my daughter's experience at Mandito's so I could get another view point. My wife said it's the worst fajitas she ever had! I tried to give this place a chance but it can't even compare to ANY of the other Mexican restaurants in Katy! I won't be going back because I feel like they were way overpriced for the value of the quality and quantity of the food. Hope they figure it out soon or they will be out of business soon! The Tex Mex restaurant scene is too good in Katy to have bad food. On a positive note the staff was very attentive!

I tried this place for the first time recently. The service was excellent. The place was clean. I had the chicken quesadillas. They weren't terrible. I just expected it to be made with quesadilla cheese, not what tasted like Colby jack which seemed to be overpowering and made me not enjoy them overall. I took them home but eventually ended up not eating them all and throwing most of it out when I got home cause that cheese just did not jive well for me I will try this place again due to the service and try other dishes. I also had the chips and salsa. The chips tasted homemade and they were delicious.

Good margaritas and enchiladas, along with the delicious, famous Armando's refried beans. Servers were sweet and friendly, but all fairly young and needing a little guidance.

I came the first week they opened and was not impressed, but I chalked it up to them just needing to get the hang of things. We have ordered takeout a handful of times since and the food is consistently great! Whoever is taking phone orders is also very pleasant and professional, which always pleases me, as good customer service is rare these days. They also have a great happy hour every day from 9-2. Glad to have this place is the neighborhood! We will definitely continue to eat here. So glad we have it another chance!

Prison Tex-Mex! Unfortunately, the worst overall experience from the food quality, preparation, and service...margaritas were overpriced and low quality!

New and trendy restaurant with good food! Not the classic tex-mex flavors - a little more complex that make you want another bite. Yummy margaritas with smoked sea salt around the rim. The service was great.

Mandito's Tex Mex food is delicious and the chips are so yummy! The atmosphere is great and the patio is beautiful. Galya, our server was very attentive and amazing. The location is perfect and we will be coming back soon!
