The 19 Best Restaurants In Ridgewood

"Ecuadorian food is a big part of Ridgewood. There are a lot of good street vendors and sit-down spots, but the one we spend the most time at is this all-day cafe on Seneca Ave. Take a seat in the bright, cafeteria-like dining room and enjoy some creamy guatita, rotisserie chicken, or a platter with steak, eggs, chorizo, and chicharrón. Before you leave, take a long look at the enormous glass case filled with cake, cookies, and flaky guava turnovers." - bryan kim, neha talreja, willa moore, will hartman

The Best Ecuadorian Restaurants In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"If you want to get a noteworthy pastry, you don’t have to visit some Noho bakery with a line down the block. M&S has enough desserts on hand to supply every birthday party in the neighborhood, and they open at 7am daily. Pick up a turnover filled with a sweet guava filling, and grab a table if you want to stick around for a full sit-down meal. This Ridgewood restaurant is about as casual as a coffee shop, but they serve a surprisingly large selection of food, including rotisserie chicken, various soups, and a bandeja with sausage and perfectly runny eggs." - Bryan Kim

M&S Bakery Review - Ridgewood - New York - The Infatuation

"Does it get exhausting being M&S? Yes, almost definitely. For a place that’s as casual as your average coffee shop, this Ridgewood operation is surprisingly ambitious. Starting at 7am, you can stop by for some salchipapas, huevos pericos, or chocolate chip pancakes. Later in the day, you can pop into the cafeteria-like space for guatita, rotisserie chicken, and other Ecuadorian classics. The bandeja montañera—with its chorizo, steak, and crispy chicharron—is perfect for when you need a filling platter, but no matter what you order, be sure to supplement it with one or two of the hundred or so pastries you’ll see on display. If you have trouble picking, go for the turnover filled with warm guava. " - Bryan Kim

Love this local Ecuadorian restaurant! Friendly service and GREAT food. 🇪🇨 I always get a bunch of empanadas: Beef, cheese, chicken, they’re all scrumptious and you must indulge with their green sauce that’s got a good kick to it. Pastries? 🥐 I love their guava cheese danish or whatever it’s called. Give them a try if you’re in the area! 👍

Everything is really nice, food, workers and environment. There is a lovely $13 menu.

Google
Good place for Ecuadorian food in Ridgewood. There are no menu prices anywhere so you dont know what youre paying for. I had a Seafood soup with two cheese empanadas and coffee. Somehow that became $36? It wouldve helped to have known the price. Other than that, service not so bad as it seems.

As an enthusiast of delectable desserts, I recently had the pleasure of stopping by M&S, an Ecuadorian restaurant. While I can't speak for the entirety of their menu, I must highlight my delightful experience with their Tres Leches, which turned out to be one of the best I've had in years. Now, onto the star of the show—the Tres Leches. This classic Ecuadorian dessert, consisting of a sponge cake soaked in three types of milk, was an absolute masterpiece at M&S. The cake itself was moist and light, perfectly absorbing the creamy blend of condensed milk, evaporated milk, and heavy cream. Each forkful was a delightful burst of sweetness, balanced by the velvety texture of the cake. Although I haven't had the opportunity to explore the full range of offerings at M&S, based on the exceptional quality of their Tres Leches alone, I wholeheartedly recommend stopping by this Ecuadorian gem in the neighborhood.

The arroz chaulafan is not made the way it should be. It didn’t even have the scrambled egg mixed in. It was not real chaulafan rice. You can even see it was just white rice with added soy sauce for coloring, that’s it.

We ordered two main dishes, but they forgot one. Their menu has no prices, and they didn't even apologize to us.

Yelp
Good food. Better than Rico Pollo/ Make sure your order is complete when ordering delivery. They do forget sometimes. Being there in person it's not on purpose, it's just busy and it's understandable how they can forget.

Yelp
i went in with my family during lunch hours. We ordered the seafood soup and chicken, rice,&beans. Everything was fine until i noticed there was a black little bug in my food floating.I looked closed and realized it was a roach. Mind you my family was already done eating. I brought this to the waiter attention and blamed it on US. "You guys probably put it in there" and stated "This area has roaches"From that statement !!!!THIS PLACES IS INFECTED WITH ROACHES.!!! She also stated the food was "Fresh" but it was warm/cold temperature.Very weird as the place did not have A/C to cool the whole restaurant just one little area just for the waiters.Leaving everyone else without cool air.DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! IF I COULD GIVE THEM A ZERO I WOULD !!!!!

Yelp
Definitely a place I'd recommend if you're in ridgewood! Try getting one of the natural juices and a chicken empanada. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Have yet to try some of their main dishes but have seen some and looking forward to trying

Yelp
When I went to visit, the restaurant was hot. It needs stronger fans or an AC system. It took 15 minutes for the waiter to take down our order. They definitely need additional staff to tend to customers. Food was okay, the guatita's sauce needed a stronger flavor. I tried the hot sauce, not my favorite and not Ecuadorian style.

Yelp
This place has incredible seafood soups and large lunch platters. The lunch platter with chicken cutlet comes with rice, beans and a salad for only $6. They also have nice breakfast sandwiches & fresh juices. M&S is one of the better Ecuadorian choices in the neighborhood

Yelp
That Food is good , they service is so fast and great service One off the best Ecuatorian food I try

Tejas S.

Yelp
It's sort of a hole in the wall in how it's run, but that's really part of the appeal. The food is great, the coffee will get you zooted, and the menu is large enough you can come back several times. Two things to note: everything takes a really long time, and they will always forget at least one thing. With that said, it's such a calm spot that it still deserves the 4 stars. Enjoy!

Yelp
Huge portions of food always delicious. Great breakfast also. Try the bolon mixto with fried eggs very unique.

Tara R.

Yelp
Truly the best empanadas in NYC! Fried fish is also delicious. Always try to take a pic but it's gone before I can! Super sweet workers as well. No bs here.

Olga S.

Yelp
Very good Ecuadorian food. It's usually really busy on the weekends but it's understandable because the food is delicious. The prices are also very reasonable I definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Great space, friendly staff, and a wide variety of food. M&S is a new restaurant in town and definitely worth a try. They serve Ecuadorian dishes as well as pizza and other traditional American foods. Come here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They even have desserts, smoothies, ice cream and caffeinated beverages if you want to have a nice place to chill for a while. Order up front and they bring it to your table. It could be your next favorite spot!
