The food here’s is always excellent. Their pizza and pasta is amazing. I’ve always had good service when coming here. All the servers have always been so kind and attentive. The food comes out in a timely manner. The atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming! Great place to eat!

Mangia Bene Italian Restaurant —— An awesome dining experience! Every dish was delicious! I enjoyed Shrimp Scampi, others enjoyed Eggplant Parmesan, and Spaghetti w/ Meatballs. And oh my those Garlic Knots; I could make a meal just eating them. The service was friendly and attentive! Atmosphere, very Italian! Thank you Chef Antonio!!! If you want a great Authentic Italian meal this is THE place to experience it.

Google
Jennifer serve the calamari, hot and tasty. The Alfredo is excellent as well. Very cheesy. We will be back. only wish we had room for their desserts as I was told they were excellent.

Google
Food was delicious- I ordered chicken parmigiana with penne. Came out nice and hot. Flavorful! The garlic knots were amazing and the fried calamari was sooooooo good! Service was on point! Such a cozy and cute little restaurant. Looking forward to coming back!

Google
When our meals came out sauce tasted burnt. I understand the restaurant is small but fitting six people in the middle of the dining area is uncomfortable. Not an enjoyable lunch experience especially for a birthday meal with your family.

Google
The Chicken parmesan sandwich ordered had nice taste. The issue being the contents. Chicken was chopped up into small pieces with a sparse amount of it. Also the chicken was a bit hard and the chew process was tough! Having spent $18.00 with tip. I felt cheated. My choice is not to return there.👎

Google
Cute, quaint and oh so good! Don't be fooled by location. This is a go to place for many locals. The food is great. The atmosphere is quiet and reserve. The pizza crust is probably some of the best in town. Pizza toppings are evenly distributed and not just thrown on the pie (see picture). Perfect place to start a 'dinner and a movie' date, with a theater next door. Eat inside or out. HINT: Sitting toward the rear is better for an intimate setting. Why? The pizza is so good, the front is bustling with people coming in to pickup their hot, carry out pizzas! Look for coupons in local papers.

Google
Me and my best friend stumbled upon this restaurant when we were freshman’s in high school and decided together that this was the best place to be. It feels like home the service, the atmosphere and food is absolutely amazing. We’re now 21 and still come back. This place made me fall in love with everything that’s related to it and I love it. 100% recommend coming here. (And our server Jennifer is amazing❤️)

Yelp
It's been about a year since our last visit to Mangia Bene. We went this evening for some pizza. I must say we ordered a olive, bacon, mushroom and extra cheese medium pizza. The crust was done just right and the toppings were excellent. Also since the last time we were there the interior has been fixed up. The table tops have been refinished and the booth seats redone. It's like a new place. Our service was good, not perfect. We did get iced tea refills but we were looking for our server a couple of times. One note, they do charge 3% CC fee.

Yelp
Best pizza in town! The double sausage pizza is a favorite. And if you like pasta, you HAVE to try the baked ziti. Teresa and her family are the hardest working people I know. The staff is friendly. This is a gem in the #coralwoodmall in Cape Coral.

Yelp
Went there today at 4:30. Got seated right away, 3 of us. First thing we noticed was our booth had an extremely bright light over the table. We asked to have this addressed, it wasn't. Don't order the antipasto, so not worth it, 1 piece of salami, Rolled ham and cheese one piece cut in 3rds,dressing tasty but watered down!! The spaghetti served with chicken and veal dishes is Thick! The sauce is thick and only made with purée tomatoes, tastes good but lacked any texture or flavor. Garlic rolls were great! Fettuccine was tasty but saturated, chicken I had on top had no flavor at all. Young waitress training another was weak in personal connection.

Yelp
The food was fabulous! What a cute little Italian restaurant. I had the chicken piccata my son had the penne ala vodka and our guest had a calzone. You can't buy sauce like they make, truly homemade. It's tucked away in a shopping plaza by the movie theater. We loved it, can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Visiting from Avon, Ct I decided to try this restaurant. I had the spaghetti bolognese, it was different, the sauce was good, not a ton of meat and (no ground pork) (also missing a dollop of ricotta). I guess the Italians in Florida do their own thing. Don't get me wrong, the food is delicious. Love the garlic rolls, I enjoyed those. This food was take out so I don't know anything about the service inside or ambience. The lady who answered my call was delightful and happy to take my order. I love that when you're greeted by an upbeat person. I'd order again from this establishment.:)

Jennifer M.

Yelp
This is ridiculous! Charging a refill per can!?!? Get a fountain soda like a real restaurant!!

Yelp
The place inside it is so beautiful, very cozy, the service is fast and great. But didn't like the food. I ordered a pizza and the crust looks like it was already made and just tossed some toppings on top. It was ok in flavor but did't like at all the crust of the pizza. I also ordered some mozzarella sticks, it is supposed to be the specialty! Well, nope for me! The sauce was ok but again, the crust to thick. Sorry, but won't come again.

Yelp
Best baked ziti and garlic roll's ever, i get them literally every week I can't resist, the place is very homey and welcoming just as the owner is.

Yelp
I've been talking about my trip to Palermo all week and I guess it was too much for my Mom to take. She asked to meet up at Mangia Bene for dinner, my last dinner in Cape Coral on this trip. So yes, I had already started to lean off my keto diet and this meal I jumped completely off the wagon. Very good service this evening when we arrived prior to the usual dinner hours rush. At 4:30pm, it was quiet and we had a nice booth in the back. Our waiter took orders and brought drinks followed by salads. Main courses arrived not too late and I enjoyed my plate of baked ziti. Good but it did need the red pepper flakes to really bring out the flavor. A good mix of cheese and sauce, not too wet and the noodles were cooked well. Mom enjoyed her Chicken Francaise and managed not to wear too much of it. We decided to skip dessert tonight. [Review 12778 overall, 92 of 2020.]

Yelp
Ordered linguine with clams absolutely delicious. Also ordered a pizza. It was one of the best since moving here. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best bruschettas I have ever had. I even got one to go!! The Alfredo is so saucy it was awesome. The manicotti was good too. Not a bad meal at all. The server was super friendly. We really enjoyed how their shirts said "eat wise not franchise" absolutely love it! It's a super small place and wasn't crowded when we went but I'm sure the more the word get around how awesome their food is, it will get packed fast!

Yelp
I'm sorry but no pics this time because I didn't want anyone to feel bad for us. Two stars are for the pizza. Perfect New York style. That's where it ends. First, we were wondering why at 12:30 no one was there for lunch. Weird right? We were wondering until we got home. We figured the pizza was great.... everything else should be as well. We ordered a calzone and an antipasto salad for takeout. Maybe they thought they could scrimp and save on the ingredients, we wouldn't notice and would never go back to complain. No, we noticed and I will have to complain here. I read the other reviews and I'm not the only one. The calzone was mostly dough. More than two inches of no filling all the way around the whole calzone. We paid extra for meatball. Might have been one meatball chopped up. Hard to find it. I am Italian. I know what an antipasto should be. Long story short. Mostly lettuce, one green olive, one black olive, pieces of veggies. Peppers? Lol, ham, one small slice of salami holding the two olives. What a joke. The Italian dressing was indeed watered down. Did you guys really think no one would notice? Omg, 40 dollars and my husband tips 20 percent ... we've been had again! S**t. I can't believe it. More people should write their reviews. The word needs to get out there about this company. We now have two menus. They are different. The difference is the prices are higher for everything. From what I just finished reading they've been doing this since before the pandemic and there is no excuse for this. Scrimp and save? Save your hellos for other suckers that walk in and are disappointed like we are. How dare you.

Yelp
The food is delicious, but a little pricey, they will deliver. In a nice location always good parking.

Yelp
I was out and about and craving some pizza, and the photos I saw online of the this place reminded me of traditional Italian restaurants I knew growing up in New Jersey, so I thought I'd check it out. When I arrived in the parking lot, I couldn't tell if it was open, and almost drove off. Even when I approached the front door, I couldn't tell, and almost left again, but decided to check the door, and it was open. (!) My original plan was to get a couple slices (whichthey offer at a so-very-NY front counter, but once I was inside, I liked the place's vibe, so I decided to dine in. (The restaurant was dark and quiet when I came in, but within 10 minutes a large family with kids sat at the table next to me, and that was the end of the quiet! They were adorably boisterous and showing off their DuoLingo German to their grandparents, though, which was just fine.) The regular (thin crust) pizza is listed in the menu as "New York Style," so I told the waitress I wanted "a large New-York-Style pepperoni and mushroom pizza," but she had no idea what I was talking about, and asked what I meant, so I had to point out to her how it's listed. (The menu also lists "Sicilian Style," a *true* sign of an actual Italian NY/NJ pizza place!) The 16" pizza came out in about 15 minutes, and it was still sizzling. I let it cool down a bit (having too often experienced pizza-burned roof-of-mouth), and added some grated parmesan. The first bite had two primary aspects: the crust is decidedly "New York"--thin, slightly crunchy on the outside, but flakier and moister next to the sauce--but...the sauce is just slightly too sweet. After a few more bites, I decided that this is *exactly* like most of the pizza you get on the streets of New York or on the boardwalk in New Jersey. It's what you'd expect from a typical pizza joint or family Italian restaurant. Not what I'd call exemplary or especially tasty... that is, mainstream New York. I did rather quickly devour half the large pie, though, and I felt overwhelmed with that rather familiar "can-I-possibly-stuff-more-of-this-in-my-mouth?" feeling, which is certainly a sign of decent 'Za. With two glasses of okay house wine, plus tip, my bill was $43. (And I left with half a pie.) It's not easy around here (SWFL) to find a decent re-creation of the pizza of my youth. This is certainly it, and I might sometime bring in friends or family from back home (especially if they're feeling homesick!), but I doubt I'll make a special trip otherwise. There are tastier options around (but maybe without the familiar interior vibe).

Yelp
Garlic rolls are great, food is always excellent. Consistent friendly staff and service. My only wish is for a better wine list. Two years later and we still love this place.

Yelp
Ducked in here last night after a movie. The interior has a lot of character, if not polish. It's something of an Old-World Italian hole-in-the-wall. It was easy to be comfortable and at ease in those surroundings. Unfortunately, the food left considerable to be desired. I ordered lasagna with a salad. They brought some garlic bread to the table. The short version is I can do much better at home. Comparing it to other restaurants, they just don't compete. So, here's the details: The garlic bread was a bit chewy overall and had one particularly hard corner. I could taste garlic, so it did have some flavor I appreciated. The salad was pale iceberg lettuce with one cherry tomato halved and one cucumber slice halved. The lasagna was very unlike other lasagna I've encountered. I was expecting layers and what happened was I went fishing for pasta pieces within the dish of bland sauce. The flat pasta noodle had been cut into small (approximate 1" x 4") pieces. When I did find one, it was over-cooked and watery. When I had found all the pasta pieces I could, I was left with a dish of sauce and ricotta. The price for this dish was $16.00. I felt it was a very peculiar and unexpected experience. Final Assessment: Looking at reviews, it seems like many of the favorable reviews were from at least a couple years ago and a good number of those were for pizza. The pizza may still be a good option. However, I can't recommend coming here for pasta and I doubt I return.

Yelp
Three of us came here after a movie at the theater in the same plaza. It was 8:45 and the sign said it closed at 9:30. Once we were seated and the waitress took out orders we were informed they closed at 9?? We were seated promptly and the wait was friendly. Service was decent. The food was not that decent. I ordered penne with meatballs. The meatballs were just ok. Probably a bit to much breadcrumb in them ... the pasta was covered in tasteless sauce. It really needed flavor. Under the sauce the penne itself was overcooked. You could taste the water and it was mushy.. The salad was iceberg lettuce, a cherry tomato that was halved and a cucumber slice which was also halved. Ordered Italian dressing and it looked and tasted watered down. One friend did not enjoy her lasagna but the other did say the sausage was good. I'm would not recommend not return.

Yelp
What a neat place to have an Italian dinner. Located in an strip mall this restaurant has great service (Leslie was the best) and a old school cozy atmosphere paired with real Italian dishes that are flavorful, traditional and authentic. 4.75 stars!!!

Sal S.

Yelp
Went there for Dine-in, it was cozy and romantic. The server was polite and quick. Had Penne Alla vodka, it was soooo good. Also the rolls that came with the meal were fluffy and very tasty. definitely homemade. My wife had a chicken parm dinner. It was Delicious and came with side of pasta. loved the cannolis as well. Filling was rich and tasted like a true NY canol! We will be back soon!
google avatar

Yelp
We were looking for something to eat prior to going to the movies stopped for Italian, I decided on chicken wings which came out hot and delicious! My wife had pizza the way she usually orders it and was very pleased with her choice Brooke was it server and was very friendly and attentive we will return again...

Yelp
Thought we would try this place since it was right next to the movie theatre and very convenient. Wow, was we wrong. If you like over priced flavorless canned pasta sauce, stale/soggy garlic rolls and obviously frozen and burned rubbery Veal Parmesan this is the place for you. The food was at the level of my college days when me and my buddies would try to make pasta from cans and boxes. For the prices of the meal and what you get with it ( nothing ) you would be way better off going to Two Meat Balls in a kitchen just a few miles down the road. And of course the place smelled like dirty mop water and you could barley move because your feet would Stick to the floor and everything on the table also became stuck to it. So gross....

Yelp
Great the ravioli!! Pizza is good too, very nice wait staff. Grab a pizza and then go to the movies right by it

Yelp
We were happy to see that they were open and have always wanted to try them.  The service was great and the food was delicious.  The marinara sauce was fantastic some of the best we have ever had. We dined alfresco on a nice cool evening at a table for 2. Would will definitely be back!
google avatar

Nicole W.

Yelp
I started with the garlic bread. First bread was hot but not cooked all the way through. Very little garlic on the garlic bread. I also orders the white pizza. It was piping hot and the crust on the pizza was perfect! Light and crispy. When I order it I asked if the white pizza has garlic. I was told no but I can add it on. So that is what did. When it came out it had chunks of roasted garlic. Not what I was expecting but that is my fault. All in all I will come back and order a pizza , maybe something a little different. Something with more flavor.
google avatar

Violet C.

Yelp
You couldn't ask for nicer, more considerate service here! I ordered a Caesar salad with anchovies (anchovies were on the side) and when I couldn't eat the whole anchovies, the server actually went back and cut them up for me. Talk about feeling taken care of! Yahoo! Also, the seating here is comfortable (I sat in a booth by myself and worked) and you feel ensconced and away from everything in the booth. Nice lighting -- not too bright at all (it's darker inside, which I tend to like). There's no wifi, but I used my phone without issue. The ravioli is homemade and tastes delicious! The marinara is a bit on the sweet side. Super homey feel. Awesome!

Anthony R.

Yelp
I took my Italian mother to this place after we saw a movie. She cried. She said it was just like her father used to do in Italy. She had the Osso Buco and I had the Chicken Parmigiana. I asked for mine with provolone and peas. After we finished I asked the lady at the desk if my mother could go into the kitchen. The older gentleman who spoke mostly Italian took her in back and showed her the pot of sauce he was making from tomatoes. Beautiful.
google avatar

Lucy T.

Yelp
The pizza was good, like the pizza I get up north in Jersey and NY. The garlic rolls were as expected, moist and full of garlic. I did not like the kids chicken fingers. They were not worth the $6.99 I paid for them. They were over cooked and small. They told me 3-4 came in an order. They were 3. Only one was a normal size. I would order again, but I would be specific with how well to cook the chicken and the problem with the amount of chicken.

Yelp
100%, A+ Outstanding Perfect Excellent Terrific Amazing Awesome This place has the Italy style inside. Owner was so cool. She was very friendly and so was our server. I found this place online just typed in small restaurants/Italian. I wanted to take my mom somewhere special for Mother's Day. I saw previous pics online about this place and good reviews on yelp. So I said let's try and to my wife and we will take mom here. So we did. All 3 of us really enjoyed the scenery, food, service and just everything was so perfect right on the spot. Such a creative Italian atmosphere and style. And again the food was just so yummy. :)
google avatar

Jonathan W.

Yelp
Apparently they now charge fir a side of marinara. You just nickel and dimes a regular customer out of coming to you ever again. I had placed an order for over $22 worth of good and would have ordered dessert after my meal, typically a cannoli. I use to come here three to four times a month, but no longer after
google avatar

Yelp
Did a Door dash order for 18" pizza Was ok, but very obviously had a pre made crust. Too expensive to not have home made. Won't choose this again

Yelp
If you are in the Cape Coral area come on by and get a delicious meal! The pizza is always outstanding and their Spaghetti is on point every single time! The service is excellent and the restaurant is clean and inviting!
google avatar

Yelp
We got a eggplant parmigian to go which was amazing! The tomato sauce is some of the best I have ever had. The order was ready when we arrived and we were in and out. Very much looking forward to going back. We love the food!

Yelp
Mangia Bene Ristorante Italiano , Coralwood Mall, Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on my meal and chatter. I order the soup of the day. A egg and spinach in a broth. It reminded me of sweet & sour soup. Very good. BUT a little on the cool side . It need to be hotter. Oh yes the hot, flaky and buttery rolls. Delish I got the day special Osso Bucco. Pork medallions with pasta and sauce. The medallions melted in your mouth it was wonderful. Pasta cooked al dente. Just right Service was wonderful.

Yelp
I have been coming into this restaurant for a few years now, and let me just say: it's always phenomenal service. The food is always cooked fresh and the wait staff are so pleasant. I've tried a few different dishes in my time spent here, and the food is always exceptional. If your looking for some great pizza, come in and support this family business. I recommend Dominique, she provides exemplary service! 5 out of 5!
google avatar

Yelp
Another great pizza ! My go to place never lets me down! Great crust and toppings on a 18" good value!
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
This place surprised us. I'm not usually a strip-mall restaurant guy, but walking in they have done a great job making you feel like you are elsewhere. The food was delicious, and the wait staff super attentive and very friendly. Good drinks, great food options. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite local spot and fast delivery. The pizza has a crisp crust and plentiful toppings. The salads are crispy and fresh. The garlic knots melt in your mouth. Delicious food. Reasonable prices. Delivery staff wear masks and always deliver hot and fresh food.

Yelp
I'm livid! Noah had a date scheduled with his girlfriend for dinner and a movie. It's challenging giving Independence when you have Autism so I happily choose the quiet restaurant next to the movies for a few reasons. 1. They are always slow 2. They are a local mom and pops with deep cape roots and 3. I called prior explaining my son and his date had autism and have trouble w the bill and asked if they can add 30 precent and was told come on in. We got there I explained again the sweet waitress said no biggie we are slow sat them and since they were so slow I sat at another table w my 2 young boys . 2 bills, 2 separate tables and ready till give a 50 precent tip for accommodations. I was completely shocked when the owner Theresa came over yelling at me stating we had to sit together and she was not going to accommodate . Again empty restaurant. I tried to explain she cut me off before I could speak and said " I don't give a shit about their date join tables " so I left before we could order apologizing to the waitress and told the owner how rude she was. Mind you, I've lived here 35 years as have they. I choose them as I mistakenly assumed a local family I've known my entire life would have some compassion for disabled young adults trying to have a date. Im Half tempted to call the ADA but this should be embarrassing enough. Appalling. Discriminating and embarrassing. We would give the shirts off our backs for any locals and to be shunned for attempting to give them our business and make a waitress night.

Yelp
I really like their pizza, but my friend says their sauce is missing something. And they put the same red sauce over a lot of their dishes. If you're expecting good customer service on the phone or at your table, forget it. Their garlic rolls are tasty. Their cheese sticks are overpriced and nothing special at all. I have had the Italian Sub also, and it was plain; I had better at Jimmy John's and Publix. I would recommend trying their pizza and if you like it, try their other dishes with the red sauce.

Keith G.

Yelp
The only place to have Veal Marsala. A must!! Portions are extremely fair and service is great.

Dave S.

Yelp
I tried ordering online and the price listed for an 18" deluxe pizza was $22.99, but there was a glitch ordering, so I called and ordered for my pickup. The mansaid it was $24 something. 20 minutes later, I picked it up and the woman at the counter said it was $33.00. I said the man had told me $24 and she laughed, said nothing and charged my card to $33.00 plus tip I added (it isnt the employees fault). I have no problem paying $33 for a pizza, but both the online menu and the man who too my order were the same (I assume 24 + with tax), but I dont like being told one thing and find a 50% increase when I picked it up. I also dont appreciate a laugh as the only response to me concern about the price difference. The pizza was pretty good, not great, but I will never go back.

Stephanie A.

Yelp
We went there for dinner. Mom and sis ordered eggplant parmigiana subs and I had the eggplant parmigiana dinner with a side of spaghetti. Overall the food was good but weirdly the eggplant parmigiana was sliced up (like strips) and put on the sub rolls. It was not baked eggplant parmigiana sandwiches but chopped eggplant on a sub roll with some cheese and sauce. My dinner was ok but the eggplant wasn't breaded and fried first prior to becoming a parmigiana. It was naked eggplant, cooked, and topped with cheese and sauce. The name and decor scream Italian but the eggplant parmigiana (sandwich and dinner entree) really lacked ...just really weird

Yelp
The garlic bread is to die for!!!!!!! Ordered Caesar salad, linguini white cream sauce, mozzarella sticks and steamed broccoli. Everything was so good! This place is a hole in the wall, next to the theaters. Cute atmosphere and environment when you walk in. No complaints here. Service was good and food was even better!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent restaurant.. food is great.. friendly staff.. love their pizza.. I recommend it

Kristi N.

Yelp
Even if you're literally starving, skip it. There is a reason its always empty. Can't believe its possible, but Olive Garden makes better Italian.

Iggy G.

Yelp
Sauce lacked any flavor. Salad was so overdressed. Customer service was subpar. And it felt dirty. Way too much going on decor wise. Not any kind of elegant dining experience
google avatar

Lisa E.

Yelp
Down here visiting ( born and raised in LI , NY). Grabbed a slice of pizza for lunch. Very authentic Italian and absolutely delicious! * side note: live in Virginia now and their pizza can't come close to NY but this did !!

Yelp
We were in the mood for Calzone and decided to try Mangia Bene. Major mistake. First of all the price was ridiculous. $25.02 for Lg. Calzone with pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms. I will admit that the Large was too big for my husband and I. The crust was gummy and covered with so much garlic powder, that it actually burned your tongue. They put on a huge amount of ricotta, and were very scimpy on the other toppings even though they charged $2.50 per topping. Needless to say I won't ever try this place again. Save your money and try somewhere else

Yelp
Great pizza good service will have this pizza again thin crust lots of topping, great flavor
