So wanted to love this place. The chicken and gnocchi was actually quite good—comforting and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the experience as a whole missed the mark. My wife ordered the pasta with meatballs, and we were surprised to find it was spicy. There was no mention of crushed red pepper or any kind of heat in the menu description, and she has zero tolerance for spice. We had to switch dishes, which threw off the meal. To make matters worse, my old fashion had a fruit fly in it. I sent it back, and while the staff replaced it, that really shouldn’t happen. Also, the music choice was loud and felt totally misplaced for an Italian restaurant—more like a bar playlist than something you’d expect in a cozy or classic dining setting. It made conversation difficult and took away from the ambiance. Had high hopes, but between the menu surprise, drink issue, and the distracting atmosphere, it just didn’t live up to expectations.

Overall great first time experience! We made reservations and came a bit early, but the hostess was happy to seat us. Though service was a wee bit slow, everyone was incredibly friendly. Alison was our server and she was very nice and made us feel welcome. The atmosphere was quite nice, great music but not too loud. Food was AMAZING! Loved the chicken pesto gnocchi and the bread was great as well. Would come back again!

Extremely nice restaurant inside and very modern. The service overall was great and the food was delicious. We had the Veal Marsala, Saffron Seabass, and Chicken Parmesan. Portion sizes were perfect. For the sides we had the calamari and mussels. The calamari was good, just a bit chewy.

Amazing italian restaurant with a great vibe. Food is amazing. Great spot for a date night or meeting some friends. Huge selection of wine available and the service is great! Kyra was a wonderful server. The Sea Bass with apricot mostarda is delightful. Definitely will be back.

We had dinner here the other night and the service was fantastic. Food was really good but for the pricing we wished it was slightly better. It wasn't terrible but it didn't really separate itself too much from the pack. We both rated our dishes 7.5/10. The chicken in the Marsala was slightly overcooked but had nice crust. They made a special Alfredo gnocchi for us as well, which was really good. I'd definitely go back.

What a great meal! From the perfect service to the most amazing meals and the best espresso martini I've ever had, this was a fantastic evening.

Excellent house-made dishes and sauces, with a kitchen and wait staff who know their products and menu well. Special thanks to Sami for top-notch service.

Just a wonderful place. Full of GREAT people and the food is OUTSTANDING! I so appreciated the reliability and execution of the lamb shank and the mushroom risotto! The mussels brodo is something I'll dream About, bread course was gone before I could even grab a piece, and way better recipe than the usual mailed in calamari. Caprese beautiful and awesome Meatballs so tender you'll cry Our server Was perfect. Sorry about the bad dad jokes! Drinks perfect. Sorry, I'm from Chicago, but this is every bit as good as we get there! (Eating the mushroom risotto side now and it's wonderful!...how is this not an entreeeeee!) Pricing is right. Thanks everyone. Hope to see you all soon!

What an AMAZING restaurant. I only wished I lived nearby. If I am ever local again, I will be certain to stop!! Food was OUTSTANDING! Service was TOP NOTCH!!

We love Republic Chophouse, so we thought we would try Mangiare for a change and they did not disappoint. Our server was so kind and so helpful. The place is on the smaller side but intimate. Highly recommend!

I loved it when it first opened and I love now years later!!! Hands down the best Italian style food in town. New food on the menu every season but absolute favorite is the dessert menu. Incredible friendly staff as well as prompt service. Great for a date night, birthday, or anytime you want some good comforting pasta.

My wife and I went here a few days before Valentines Day. Found out from a friend this was a "sister" restaurant of Republic's, so we had to try it out. Nice ambiance upon entering. It's not a big location so if you are looking for quiet and quaint then this is the place for you. We started with the complimentary bread, garlic, olives and oil which were pretty good starters. Not too heavy but just enough. We then shared a giant meat ball that was in a delightful marinara sauce, drenched in cheese. Delicious. For our entrees I ordered the Quail and my wife ordered the surf and turf. My quail was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The surf and turf was a pleasant taste but it was more like a soup due to the liquid it was sitting and it caught us both off guard. The steak was very chewy but seasoned. She didn't finish her meal due to it sitting in a bowl of liquid. We finished the night with an amazing red velvet gelato which put me in a state of relaxation. Overall, it was a pretty good meal minus the "surf and turf" everything else from the drinks to the other dishes were outstanding. will definitely be going back when I am back in town.

I cannot say enough positive about this restaurant. Our server was Sami, and from the moment she came to our table, she made it fun to be there. The food was excellent. There were four of us, and we each ordered something different. Three of the four entrees were much bigger than we expected, and one of those three was just an appetizer. That appetizer was more than I could eat for my entrée. The food was attractively presented and served promptly. The experience and the food were so good that we returned the next night. That may sound strange, but it's true. We asked for Sami, and once again, she provided an excellent experience, and the food was great. I will definitely return to Mangiare if I am ever again in Green Bay.

What happened? I love this place! But when my favorite bartenders are not there I don't want to be there. Still if you are looking for a great place to eat great Italian food this is the place. Just don't expect to roll up to the bar and enjoy a great meal with awesome bartenders. Don't get me wrong, the bar experience is what drew me there, not the case anymore. So go for a table and get out!

The service, food and Ambiance was Awesome, we ordered the old fashioned whisky sour by far the best. we ordered appetizers they were delish. We celebrated our 23 wedding Anniversary. They gave us a dessert as an anniversary gift. we will be back.

Maybe my expectations were a bit high going into this experience but I just didn't love it as much as I thought I would. I went with 2 girlfriends and we started off with some meats and cheeses, kind of a build your own charcuterie board. I liked the prosciutto and the spicy salami, most of the cheeses were just ok in my opinion. The other 2 girls really enjoyed the breads (gluten free so didn't have any). For entrees, we all got a build your own pasta. The general consensus was they were good but not great. I will say the massive shrimp that came with it were delicious. They were out of the dessert we wanted so opted not to get anything. Service was good but after spending $50+ per person, we were left not wowed.

Absolutely love the vibe! Great starters, salads, entrees ... Decided to eat at the bar- Sarah was wonderful/- attentive. We love RC, this sister location is equally wonderful.

This was my husbands and I first time there. We were greeted by friendly faces especially Eric and Noah. Thanks so much for the delicious recommendations such as the veal, the Italian gumbo and the cocktails. Everything was great and fresh especially the bread with the toasted garlic!

Easily one of the best Italian restaurants in Green Bay. Great menu and wine selection. Beautiful atmosphere, love the bar area, super friendly bartender. Also love when the weather is nice they open up the area that is closest to the street to have the indoor/outdoor feel. Every time we've been it's been a great experience. Highly, highly recommend.

Everything was so delicious. We were staying at Lodge Kohler and wanted to go out for dinner so we rolled upon Mangiare and were so happy that we did. There were two other couples in the restaurant so it was very quiet but nice. Our waitress was so sweet and brought us a free dessert for our anniversary. We got what felt like one of everything and it was all so tasty!!

To be quite honest, I don't really know what I was expecting. I ordered the Calamari, and it was simply... bland. Ok start, could be worse. $14 for small portion, but whatever. Then I ordered the Braised Lamb. It is listed on the menu as such: "Marinara braised lamb sautéed with pappardelle accented with olives, artichokes, & fennel ($34)" So, what do you expect when you hear that description (and price tag)? I'm not sure, but it was not what I got. What I was served was a mixture of lamb, which looked and tasted like pulled pork you'd get from a street fair. Yum. Among the lamb, there was pasta scattered around, and together, the two simply did not work together. The server was very nice, and she was very understanding when I told her of my woes with the food. She told me she'd tell the chef's, so that's at least ok. The only good part of the entire night was the fish, which you can get anywhere else (and for cheaper). I'm not sure if I'd come back after writing all this up, actually.

Visited for the first time for our anniversary, definitely a five-star experience!! Everything was absolutely incredible. Definitely returning!

I do not have a single negative thing to say. The service is amazing and everything came out at an appropriate pace. We did not feel rushed and the bartender (we sat at the bar) Was helpful with all of our questions.

We went to Mangiare for our 1st anniversary as a married couple. Kyra made our night one to remembe! She was super kind & had great recommendation. Kyra is a true asset to the restaurant! The food, drinks & atmosphere were the best we've had in the area! We will definitely be treating ourselves again!

We've visited about ten times. Our food was superb, the flexibility outstanding, service exceptional and a wide ranging assortment of beer, wines and artisan cocktails. If anything isn't perfect, temperatures etc, tell them and they'll fix it. Wait staff has been outstanding and can be recognized from prior visits which indicates they are well run. The woman who heads up bar service (at least on our visits) has been excellent. The ambiance is fresh, clean, warm and stylish. Family welcome!

I rarely review, but this dinner was excellent enough that I must. They apparently just reopened after a brief closure for staffing, but you wouldn't guess. Our server, Kyra, was delightful and attentive. And we loved the robot "busboy". The food was delicious - we had a variety of pastas and sauces and can't decide our favorite. All fresh! Great wine list too.

Overall, we had an enjoyable experience here. The service was attentive and the food was tasty. The bread service was nice, but the bread itself was dry. We had the short rib special, which was a large, delicious portion. The cioppino was delicious also, although overpriced at $51. We were given a complimentary dessert to share and we chose the tiramisu. Good choice! It was amazing.

Its a tad better than Olive Garden. Came in on 5.6 around 5pm. Was seated right away. Only one waitress working. Service was SLOW. Ordered the Giant Meatball. It was dry, tough and tasted like the meat was rotting. For the main course, ordered Chicken & Pesto Gnocchi which was bland, and the chicken was so dry it was like the Sahara Desert. Hubby got the Frutti di Mare. Seafood was overcooked and rubber; looked like it was sitting out for hours. Not enough pasta in the dish. Took over 1.5 hours for apps and dinner for two people. It should not take that long. We would not come back again.

Really Mangiare? have never been to an Italian restaurant that doesn't offer bread service but apparently you cant afford to offer it anymore. Even Olive garden has free unlimited breadsticks and you are charging $6 for 4 super small pieces of bread. Very disappointing for what "was" one of the best Italian joints in town. Wont be coming back soon f this is the path you are taking the business.

Nice atmosphere, good service and location, however, the food was bland. We got build your own pasta and there was no flavor.

The beet and burrito salad was good as well as the clams appetizer. As far as entrees, the duck ragout was tasteless! It seemed like it could've been something so good, but there were weird wilted vegetables and the sauce was lackluster-so bland that I needed to add salt! On top of that, it was mixed with all of this mediocre pasta. The presentation was all wrong. It looked like some thing from Chef Boyardee. The gnocchi was not pillowy as I expected. It was quite dense and heavy. Overall, not impressed.

Generally, Green Bay's Italian restaurants are pricey and sub-par at best. My expectations were not high. This was no exception. One of the basic requirements of any Italian restaurant is the ability to cook pasta. On my two occasions visiting this restaurant, I had to send back lasagna because of under cooked pasta, which is a huge red flag. Pasta dishes were mediocre and bland. Very slow service from the bartenders to the wait staff. I could look past this if the food was amazing, but not so. Not sure if I will give them another try.

Tried the calamari and Alfredo pasta here. One of the best pasta preparations I have had in the longest.

Honestly I've been waiting for a better Italian option in Green Bay for so long! Both of our dishes were very good (chicken pesto gnocchi and frutti de mare) and the portions were fulfilling. Even the complimentary bread board was worth bragging about. Looking forward to going back - only thing I was hoping was that they also served red velvet ... but it was a good reason to walk down the street :)

The ambiance and smell was similar to any American Italian restaurant. We appreciated being seated next to the open window, for a combined inside/outside dining experience. Service was poor, we waited almost 15 minutes to be greeted and offered anything. We first had the complementary bread board and ordered the arancini appetizer. The board board was the best part of dinner. They had a sun dried tomato focaccia with roasted garlic and olives. It was a bit over the top. I would have been satisfied with a bread basket that could be refilled for the leftover olive oil - balsamic vinegar on my plate. However it was well presented and delicious. The arancini, on the other hand, was greasy and the taste of fried cheese and pancetta was as far as the my palate could take me. For our entrees, I ordered the braised lamb and my wife ordered the Tuscany salmon with a side of toasted gnocchi. The braised lamb had rich flavor but lacked intentionally in its preparation. My wife enjoyed the spinach and sun dried tomato pairing with the salmon, but the creamy baked white pesto on top ruined the lightness of the dish. Overall, the gnocchi was very well done; similar to how a true Italian would have prepared it at home.

Hated waiting for a table, but loved having the option to eat at the bar. Very good burrata, meatball app and homemade pasta.

Enjoyed an relaxing evening. The staff is professional. Service was unhurried but attentive. The food was phenomenal. Creative and approachable, with very generous portions. The fruit de mar was the best you're going to get anywhere. The braised lamb was raised to heights by the addition of artichoke and black olives.

Cool atmosphere, great service, and the bread and Chicken Pesto Gnocchi was spectacular.

My husband and I dined here on two occasions and had a wonderful experience both times. The servers were very attentive and the food is delicious. I recommend the chicken pesto gnocchi and braised lamb pappardelle. The build your own pasta options are nice. The complimentary bread is amazing. The arancini appetizer is a must try item. They also have an extensive wine list. We will definitely be back again.

Oh my goodness.... I had the braised lamb which was served on papperdelle noodles. It was absolutely amazing. The bread served at the beginning of the meal was by far the best bread I've ever had served during a "bread service" before. We also tried a few appetizers - giant meatball, risotto and calamari. I thought both the giant meatball and risotto were very tasty. I wasn't quite as impressed with the calamari. It seemed a bit chewy. Overall, I can't wait to try something else on the menu. The prices were pretty reasonable given the food and quality.

Great service and atmosphere but price and quality of food do not match. For the prices charged, the food should be extraordinary but it was just a little better than average. Menu missing some Italian mainstays like linguini and clam sauce and Veal Marsala. Also, I would expect an upscale Italian restaurant to serve a great Italian coffee like Lavazza but theirs is very weak.

Soup, calamari and pasta were all delicious. Server was great too. We had a wonderful anniversary celebration!

I wrote the review on 10/11/2021- that is below - next paragraph. I noticed that that the review that I wrote for Mangiare Italian Restaurant is not currently recommended by Yelp. It makes wonder why? I thought it was pretty legitimate. My take on Yelp and it's practices leaves me thinking something shady is going on. I am going to post it again to see if Yelp decides again that it is not worthy of being recommended. And if it is not recommended - why not? We went there on Friday night with 5:15pm reservations.  They were really busy at that time.  The hostess brought us (two of us) to the back of the restaurant where there was a table of about 12 people and they were really, really loud.  I noticed a couple other tables for two that were away from the loud table and asked if we could sit at one of those because it is to loud where we were.  I had to repeat myself because our hostess couldn't hear me the first time.  She said the restaurant has a policy that they cannot do that - non negotiable (yikes).  Then our server greeted the two of us and proceeded to wait on a different table of about 6 people (getting their food orders).  He obviously took their orders and turned them in finally walked by us.  I asked if we could order drinks and he said one minute I am really busy and aplogized.  They appeared to be a bit under staffed.  If we weren't next to the loud table it would have been a little more digestible.   The food was great.  The service was eventually good.  The ambiance/noise was not so good (an understatement).  If I do go back it will be at a off hour where it isn't so loud and crowded.

This was the best restaurant experience I've had in a long time. The staff was attentive and on top of everything. the food was absolutely amazing!!!!! We enjoyed appetizer, salad, entrees and dessert. Everything was excellent!!!!The Terderlion Alla Milanese with risotto was exceptional ! Along with the rigatoni w/marinara and sausage. Great atmosphere and attentive service. A place to really enjoy a great Italian meal.
