My dinner here was amazing. Everything on the menu sounded amazing but I decided on the wings and jerk chicken platter. Everything was delicious! Portion sizes are massive, you can share your food with 2 or 3 people. Service was great and The Citadel is the perfect backdrop for this culinary delight.

Went here on a Saturday night starving, love that they had vegan options. I forgotten what I ordered all I know is that it was delicious.. if you're not familiar with the area its hard to find the spot lol had to go down an alley way.. I mean it was in a pretty cool incognito area had a night club across the way. Pretty cool art to look at as well. Overall I love this spot, wish they would have given me heftier portions because it was so good 😂.

Just tried this place today, the location on 83rd street is a no for me. The food had little to no flavor, and the service didn’t help— the young lady assisting us was rude and seemed completely over her job. My rice was bland, the food came out cold, and while the wings were okay, I’ve had much better elsewhere. My friend ordered the grio, black rice with fried plantains, which also lacked flavor, but the portion was good. Honestly, the only good thing on my order was the Fiji bottled water. I won’t be returning.

Manjay at the Citadel has some fantastic flavors and even better people. The staff are welcoming and kind, which makes the experience even better. My favorite meal is the griot with pikliz, rice and beans, and bannann peze. It's a perfect combination of bold flavors and textures. The conch fritters are also a must-try, absolutely delicious! The sauces take everything to the next level. The only downside was that the steak was a bit too well-done for my taste. Overall, though, I’d definitely recommend stopping by for an authentic and flavorful meal.

This was my first time here. I've never really had any Carribean food like this, and was I in for a treat!! So much flavor!! The jerk wings were probably some of the best wings I've ever had. The boniato fries were yummy, and the jerk chicken bowl with red beans and rice was tasty. I especially enjoyed the spicy pikliz!! My husband had the burger and said it was better than any he's had recently. We will definitely be back to try more, very soon!!

This spot is truly a gem in Miami. Good service, the best Haitian food, and such a chill and relax area to enjoy my meal. Every time I travel to Miami, I make sure to stop at the Citadel for coffee and Haitian food at Manjay.

We were at the Citadel yesterday in the early evening and ordered the Honey Jerk Chicken Bites from Manjay. They were flavorful and delicious! We love Caribbean food, and this place is on top of their game. We were sitting on the rooftop and were able to order from different restaurants here at the Citadel. Our server was the delightful, Becca, who was efficient and friendly and knew what was good on the menu! We were happy campers with her selections. We will return very soon. Don't miss this one!

I fell for the hype and pulled up to the Citadel to manje at "Manjay." My 1st impression walking in was that this entire spot is a vibe. They had a dj playing on the night I visited. It wasn't too loud, and it was a nice size crowd flowing throughout the building. However, it was a little too dark for my liking. I could barely see the food on my plate because of the lightning. I didn't really like the fact that I couldn't see what was going on around me. When I walked up to the register, an older guy took our order. To be honest, my biggest and only complaint about my visit is customer service. I don't  care what country you're from; learn to be polite to your patrons. Moun Ayisyen, we need to do better. Epi dats et.... I ordered the jerk chicken, and it was well seasoned. My chicken was a little cold, but maybe it's because they got my plantain order wrong, and I had to wait for them to fry my plantain straws. I didn't bring it to their attention because their attitude was already nasty. I wanted to limit my interaction with them.  My friend got the griot, and it was ok. I've had better from the local Haitian restaurant in the city. It was a little tough and lacked epis (seasoning). I'm not going to lie; the rice and beans were delicious. We also did an order of Conch fritters, and they didn't miss a beat with that.  It's was cooked to perfection. So full of great flavors. The creamy dipping sauce they gave us for was spicy but in a good way.  I would purchase that sauce; that's how good it was.  Chef kiss. I would recommend  this spot despite their lack of good customer service skills. Next time I'm here, I'll definitely visit the other restaurants inside the Citadel.

Photos were deceiving here, unfortunately. The honey jerk chicken bowl: rice not cooked well (crunchy), chicken was very tough, not hot and crispy even though I ate right onsite. The coleslaw was extremely spicy! Sauces provided were also spicy but found them to be pretty good (and good that they were on the side). The steak frites tasted more like a sweet and sour steak - not one piece of steak, but small slices with a lot of sweet sauce on them. Plantain fries were cold/not crunchy. White rice is white rice. $50+ for both entrees, plus $7 parking for an hour in the market lot...it was cool vibes in the market but I most likely would not return. Plus please note; they automatically add 10% service fee, and then the prompter offers the option for a 20% or more tip...

The food was good but not my cup of tea. The wings were really good, but the fried foods were a bit too oily. The avocado salad was nice and refreshing. The customer service was excellent. The restaurant was clean and nice.

Quick lunch stop at the Citadel, this sounded like something different and worth trying. It was good, not great but food had a little flavor to it. Opted for the jerk shrimp instead of chicken to try something new but it wasn't as spicy as I would've wanted it to be. Rice was a little on the bland and the tostones were ok I guess. For $35 I'd expect a more generous portion as I was still hungry after this tease of a portion. Also the service wasn't the best or the worst. After getting my food I asked the manager onsite for the Wifi password and she acted as if she was annoyed by my question and again when I asked for the utensils. This is not the type of joint to feel entitled or as if they have the type of cloud to treat people like that but that's what o got. I will not be coming back or recommending but that comes with the territory I guess. They also took the mushroom rice off the menu because the owner, who showed up later on, mentioned it was too expensive to buy so that was a bummer as well. That's the second joint in this food hall that has been disappointing so it will be my last visit for damn sure.

I am so so disappointed... I was picking which restaurant to eat at inside of the Citadel, and after seeing all the positive reviews for this place, I chose this one. $23+ for this bowl of sadness.. Honestly it LOOKS amazing. which makes it even more disappointing. Chicken was dry and the breading on the outside was stale like it had been sitting out for a while. It was tough to chew and the chicken was almost room temperature... As for the sides, I got plaintain fries and red bean rice. Plaintain fries were pretty good--well seasoned. but the rice... HORRIBLE. It was so hard and dry like it has been sitting out for days and then reheated. which I'm convinced might be what they do.. They also didn't give me a fork, so I asked for one, and she told me to get one from the side of the dining hall. There were none left, so I went back and asked her for one. She gave a weird look and very reluctantly handed me plastic silverware. Very interesting.. side note: service was ok. cashier was not very friendly but not my main concern. save ya money, pick a different restaurant within citadel.

If you're looking for rich, flavorful bites this is the perfect spot for you! I've checked out Manjay a few times but my last visit was definitely the best. They just always seem to achieve putting a smile on my face and making my tummy happy, lol. I love their conch fritters, and you cannot go wrong with their jerk chicken bowl.... Oh! And don't sleep on their Manjay Jerk sauce, it's out of this world! I also really enjoy their plantain fries. I love that Manjay has taken Caribbean cuisine and added a sweet twist to it. From Creole inspired avo-toasts to a fried chicken sandwich that'll leave you drooling all day long, there is something for everyone here!

I don't understand the reviews for this place, especially on the Honey Jerk Chicken Bowl. It was terrible there was nothing jerk about it, it had absolutely no flavor. I couldn't tell how my rice and beans tasted because the supposedly curry veggies was thrown on top of the rice, and by the way the curry veggies had no curry. I also ordered the supposedly jerk chicken sandwich, I will say it was a chicken sandwich, maybe they ran out of jerk because it had no taste of jerk, I can say it was ok. But the bowl disgusting I can say I will never order from here again.

Cousin and I and I were in the area and wanted to try Haitian food while we were in little Haiti and this place didn't disappoint. We order the Caribbean conch fritters , jerk chicken and Griyo combo and everything was super fresh and tasteful. It is inside The Citadel which is like a high quality food court.

The few times I ate there they were consistently good. Friendly staff, food comes out quick and it's very good, lots of bold flavors, definitely would return! They're located inside the Citadel which is always a great vibe in my opinion. Parking is paid by parking app method, & it's not an issue to really find spaces bc there are plenty, even some spots across the street/ all around the property. The prices are okay considering this is basically homemade food prepared daily; portions seem small but they're not really too small, they're okay & will be filing in the end. Overall, this is a nice place to eat yummy Caribbean food w/ a twist & I would def recommend!

So I came on a Tuesday so I'm sure the food was fresh. But upon walking up there's 2 people cooking. Good sign. We stood there for what seemed like an eternity but it was like 2 mins until the lady reluctantly came and took our order. Usually when it comes to carribean food, the more questionable the service the better the food. So I got a good feeling when it seemed like she didn't want to take our order we got the honey jerk shrimp bowl and the griyo bites. So for paying 50$ for an appetizer and entree the food was so good I wasn't mad. Perhaps a lunch menu would do some good but either way I been wanting to try this place forever and I didn't care. The food did not disappoint. If I was in the area again I'd come by and try more things but I don't think I'd go out of my way. That honey jerk sauce is fire!

Love having a taste of Haiti in little Haiti! Flavors are incredible and staff is so kind and helpful. The grio bowl is my go to dish everytime I'm at the citadel! Don't sleep on the jerk wings thoooo

I love when I see my Haitian caribbean represented in places like this food hall, the Citadel. I did like the concept of ordering different foods from different restaurants and sharing them with friends and family. I had the jerk shrimp bowl with black mushroom rice (Diri Djon Djon) and a side of fried plantains (bunan peze). The food tasted good! I would have wanted a little more conch into the fritter and The pikliz definitely needed some spice, it was more like a cole slaw than pikliz. But overall yummy

I dined here w someone, the food was tasty, very hearty and fresh. The service was quick and the venue seemed chilled. The ambiance was fine, well ventilated, lots of seats, etc. As a vegan I was content with the dishes they had for vegans. Everything was fresh and well presented.

4 1/2 stars. Located in the Citadel, Manjay is Caribbean food with a twist. On our first visit we got the Jerk Chicken Bites and were in heaven. This is not traditional jerk chicken at all and some purist might have an issue with this dish. These are small fried chicken nuggets tossed in a delicious jerk sauce. The chicken is fried fresh and is hot when it gets to your table. Overall, with the dish is a must have. On our second visit we ordered the chicken bowl which was the same chicken with two sides. We tried several sides including plantain fries spicy slaw and veggies and they were all good. We particularly liked the plantain fries. We also tried the Coco Loco Shrimp on our second visit. This dish was okay but could have used a bit more flavor. Not something I would order again. The guys at the counter are friendly. Definitely more we would like to explore here.

LOVED THIS PLACE, located inside the citadel which is a Food Hall with a nice bar, serving cool cocktails, sustainable retailers, live music & a rooftop lounge. The place is cool and hip, nice tables and friendly vendors and customers. Started out with the CONCH FRITTERS which is one of my favorite seafood things to eat and I loved them, they were fresh, perfectly fried and had so much taste. The JERK CHICKEN was my favorite dish of the whole experience, the chicken had so much taste and I literally couldn't eat it fast enough. THE COCO LOCO SHRIMP BOWL was also good, loved the rice and fries, the grilled shrimp could of had more taste but it was still very good. The CORN I could skip, was a bit stale and hard to eat at times. The guys that run the business were very friendly and recommended the items people like the most. I will definitely be back here to try more stuff and have more jerk chicken and conch fritters!

I've been to The Citadel a few times, but finally decided to try Manjay last night. The person taking my order was SO kind and took the time to answer all my questions and make recommendations. I went with the jerk chicken bowl with white rice, plantain fries and pikliz (spicy slaw). It was INCREDIBLE! Amazing flavor, perfect textures and a hearty portion. I let my boyfriend try and the first words out of his mouth were, "I'm getting that next time we come." I'm also excited to try more from this spot!

Delicious! A must try. Ordered the Caribbean Conch Fritters and From Haiti with Love. Highly recommend both. Nice atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back and trying the rest of the menu

Some of the best haitian food I've had. They put their own spin on each dish and I love that.

Staff was so friendly and food was great! it was located inside of the Citadel which is like a food hall. There is a beautiful rooftop that you can go up and eat and there is a bar up there. I ordered the plantain chips, banan payzay, conch fritters, white rice and sos pwa. Everything was delicious the pikliz was a little more peppery than I am used to but still delicious. I would definitely return when I am in the area. They do not take cash fyi.

Inside the citadel you'll find this spot. They have a variety of different cuisines but Manjay has awesome flavorful food. I had the jerk bowl when I went and it did not disappoint.

I remember the first time I had Manjay, it was absolutely delicious! It is Haitian food with a twist, and since I am Haitian, I can definitely vouch for this place. The Citadel it's self is a great place to meet and network with others. The service, the ambience all speaks for itself as it gives a nice scenery especially on the rooftop for happy hour,etc. I would definitely recommend!!

Food was pretty good, but I will say don't expect the authentic ting. The jerk or curry isn't Jamaican style, it isn't spicy, it's not the REAL jerk, but it is good. Mostly everything had somewhat a sweet taste to it. Not bad just not what I expected when I ordered my food.

Have lived around the corner and never realized there was this hidden gem. My heart begins to flutter when I see unique item options. The Griot Avocado toast did just that. It took a second for me to process how those two items even crossed paths, but let me tell you..... it's the perfect pair. It's crunchy and salty and creamy. A complete party in my mouth. Had tons of flavor and the different components just were a match made in griot heaven. I love how different the item was. Take a second and think where you can find this item elsewhere ? I'll wait... lol The gentleman at the counter was very nice and helpful. I was confused at first as I've never been to the citadel before and didn't know really how or where to order. It's a large indoor food court where they have different types of restaurants along the perimeter and tables/chairs in the middle and along on wall there's a full bar. Very cool concept. You order at the prospective restaurant of choice and they send you a text when the food is ready. Food timing was quick and you're so consumed with the environment that you don't even realize you're waiting. Would definitely recommend and want to explore their other menu items as well. Great job!

Delicious! We visited back in June and we are planning to go back soon with our family so they can all try it We tried the mofongo appetizer which was perfectly delicious. We also had the Coco loco shrimp with rice and tostones. The avocado toast which was also great and very savory. We would probably get everything again whenever we're able to visit. This is a great little spot located at The Citadel in Miami so if you're in the area and want to grab delicious food, this is the place to go

One of my favorite places to eat when I visit citadel is Manjay. Highly and I mean highly recommend their conch fritters. The jerk chicken bites are amazing!! Honestly I wasn't ready for this place...and I mean this as a good thing!!! First off I never been to the citadel this was my first time. I just went to try "Manjay" since I heard such good reviews. My friend and I walked around the first floor where all the restaurants were located then we went to the rooftop they asked if we had reservations and we both said no so they sat us on a high table with chairs. It was such a beautiful Saturday afternoon we order drinks and then we ordered our food. I ordered the jerk chicken bowl with the side of coconut rice and fried plantains. For appetizer I got the conch fritters. Everything was delicious! The conch fritters was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS and I was worried about the jerk chicken since I saw it dry but there is soo much flavor!!! I am definitely coming back again this place is sooo good so are the waiters and the ambiance.

The food was really good. The only thing that wasn't on point was the jerk chicken. It was good, but it didn't really taste like jerk. It was just sweet chicken. The curry shrimp should of been more saucie and the fritters were fire!. Good food overall.

This place is super cute. I got my food to go and was so hungry so my pic looks very rushed lol but I will def be returning here.

The quality of this place has declined exponentially. My photos are from my first experience years ago and it was great. During my pregnancy it was literally all I wanted to eat that's how good it was but due to changes in staff and management it has consistently worsened. It's really sad to see such an authentic place be ruined.

5G Carribbean Comfort food raising the bar. Definitely hit the spot and recommended. The Conch Fritters were epic...

By far one of the best Caribbean spots that I have tried out here. My mother and I went 40 minutes before their closing time and I was a little nervous that they would half ass the order being that it was so close to closing. But let me tell you.... It was BUSSIN! I definitely will be back. I recommend the jerk shrimp!

Coco loco shrimp is the best damn shrimp I've ever had. OMG I want to swin in a bowl of that meal

This is one of my favorite vendors inside The Citadel food hall. I just love their creative menu and the staff is super nice. I got the Conch Fritters on my first visit and they were outstanding. These round morsels were made to order so they were piping hot and super crunchy. And they're decent size too. The 2nd time I stopped by, I got the Jerk Chicken Bites served with Yuca Fries. Another hit! They were nice and crispy with just the right amount of spice. Both dishes were also presented beautifully considering they're served in a disposable bowl (See my pics). Plus each was around $10 so it's very affordable. They also of big plates for $14 including a vegan bowl. Love this place. Next time I'll get the Coco Loco Shrimp. Hopefully, this crisis will end sooner cause I've been craving for their fritters :) FYI: They also have delivery option via Uber Eats.

I purchased food in advance for a meeting. I was having with someone, and they picked out what they wanted from the menu. I ordered online using an app, then called to confirm that they received the order, including the request for extra pikliz. I paid for the extra side of pikliz, and the person I was meeting with that I was buying dinner with really really really wanted them. so I had the food scheduled so that I could get it picked up and then run to the airport to pick the person up. First of all the food was not ready until 45 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. That's crazy. It wasn't even like my friend had picked out really complicated or difficult things to make, they were all things that the restaurant should've had on hand and been able to make quickly. I get that this is a Haitian restaurant, and having lived in Haiti. I understand that things are a bit slower and relaxed there, but I was pretty sure that they understood when I called to confirm my order that they knew it had to be ready by the time it was scheduled to be picked up, in any event I was late picking up the person at the airport, we did get to the hotel and sat down to have our dinner and our meeting, and as soon as I unpacked the bag, I knew that they were problems. The order was missing the extra pikliz that we had paid for, it Did not have one of the sides, and it had the wrong drink. The bananas were dry and not hot even though I had put the food in a thermal bag as soon as I picked it up and the rice was still warm. All in all it was pretty disappointing. It was also a very expensive meal.

This Caribbean restaurant is anything but traditional! Their tagline is modern Caribbean cuisine and this food is just that. It actually tasted more like a fusion of cuisines. This may be due to the fact that the Caribbean is filled with various culinary influences from colonization. For example, the Jerk Chicken and coconut rice was reminiscent of an Asian inspired dish where it felt like I should be eating it with chopsticks. This wasn't the Jamaican-style jerk chicken I'd grown up on that is coated in spices and slow-cooked over a fire or grill. It was breaded and flavored more like a Caribbean General Tso chicken. However this is quality food made fresh daily. Only prepared when ordered. The bowls come with two sides which is a good portion and value. I also found these dishes to have a bit of kick to them for those who may not be as tolerant of spice. Overall your taste buds will thank you for you inviting them on this flavorful journey.

Horrible....service and food. Visiting Miami and upset for $50 my food came out entirely wrong. Not only was the service horrible (counter and kitchen being run by 2 very young employees) the food was bad. First the menu options were down to 4. Then when our food was ready everything was mixed up. When I pointed out the orders were completely mixed up they gave blank stares and no solution. At this point after a 4 hour flight and waiting 45 minutes for our food my husband didn't want to argue with children. When we finally did eat we gave each other blank stares. Only our meats were tolerable. The rest was trashed. Very disappointing way to start a stay in Miami.

Both times I've been to The Citadel I've had Manjay's jerk chicken bowl and it is hands down delicious. I can't say I have much expertise on carribbean food but I do know the dish is a delight for my tastebuds. Between the coating on the chicken to the rice and fried plantains, it has everything that hits the soul. The only downside is it can be somewhat of a longer than anticipated wait -- but it is so worth it. I've promised myself next time I visit to try another dish -- particularly the conch fritters.

TLDR: I thought I'd die when I ate at Manjay because it was so amazingly delicious. Located in The Citadel food hall, Manjay is such a great addition to the Miami food scene. I love the modern Caribbean food aspect. I almost teared up when I saw griot on the menu, as it gave me flashbacks to my wonderful high school years attending school in Little Haiti. The griot bowl, called From Haiti With Love, is packed with flavor and reminds me of my best friend's grandmother's Haitian cooking. Yes, it's that good. It comes with griot (the best pork you'll ever have), rice, slaw, and deliciously seasoned tostones. It's also the perfect portion size. I'm salivating just thinking about it. It was honestly hard to pick from the menu. With all the options -- mofongo, Cuban sandwiches, Haitian red beans and rice, roti... Having moved away from Miami a few years ago these things are NOT easy to find just anywhere in the US! Take advantage! If you haven't been to The Citadel or if you have but haven't hit up Manjay yet, what are you waiting for??

Been wanting to try Manjay for a while now as I'm obsessed with Haitian/Caribbean food. I tried the Conch Fritters, jerk chicken bowl and from Haiti with love bowl. All three meals were tasty with good amount of flavor. My personal favorite was the jerk chicken and that's coming from someone who's never liked jerk chicken. With this said, I feel like the portions are really small. I was disappointed in the sauce that the conch fritters came with, I was looking for something more authentic or unique yet what I got was honey mustard. Pretty good as honey mustard goes but not what I was expecting from a Caribbean restaurant. Lastly, the green plantains had far too much pepper on them. I literally had to grab a napkin to take some of it off as it was unbearable to taste.

Manjay is situated inside of the citadelle. Been there twice and both times my experience was delightful. Parking. You have two options. Either park on the street or park in the back of the building. Most busy day, you will find it harder to find a spot after 6 pm. Food. Dishes is out of this word. So many Vegan options which is a big plus nowadays. It's a caribbean cuisine which imply that you will find some perfect seasoned dishes. I tried everything on the menu and I will say that The Conch fritters and Griyot (fried pork) is definitely a must try. Customer Service. It's a 10. I had the pleasure to meet some amazing people such as Kimberly and Reggie. Always down to explain the concept of a dish or make a modification. Pros. This foodhall offers one of the best happy hour, so while getting you food groove on you have to option to enjoy some great cocktails. Also you can always walk around to check other food stand while waiting for you food.

IMPECCABLE. I had the jerk chicken bites & plantain fries w/the mango habanero sauce. I wouldn't call the flavor profile jerk but it was freaking delicious so who cares. Open late, cute spot & flavorful food. I'll be back

Small Carribean joint located in the middle of The Citadel market in Miami. No frills costumer service. Just order and let them worry about the amazing food. It had a mix of everything from Hatian Griyo to Jamaican Jerk Wings to Puerto Rican Mofongo. I had to try it all and ran that bill up! The Griyo ( Slow braised fried pork) was savory and tender. I could have just eaten this alone in a bucket like popcorn but over the red beans and rice, BOY OH BOY. The Jerk Wings were perfect. It was a wet jerk sauce over deep fried wings, untraditional but it worked. The sauce had a sweetness with a kick of jerk spice that made the flavor really stand out. This meal came with creole flavored plantain fries, which was addicting in it's own right. The Mofongo, which is a favorite dish of mine as a Puerto Rican, was garlicky and made me proud. While you would think Mofongo is an easy dish (mashed green plantains, garlic, salt, and sometimes pork cracklings), it's not often done well. Maybe its the proximity to fresh plantains or the right spices but it tasted like home. Ultimately, this is a gem. Located in a trendy food market, this joint is blending the best dishes of the Caribbean islands and they are doing it well.
