Manna Noodle House has a warm, homey charm, thanks in large part to the server who I believe is also the owner. She was incredibly kind and welcoming. The service was friendly and attentive. The white soup was comforting and flavorful, and the bulgogi beef was tasty as well. That said, the dining area felt more like sitting in someone’s living room than in a proper restaurant. While that can be cozy for some, it didn’t quite have the professional setting you’d expect when dining out. The atmosphere could use a bit of polishing.

Coming here feels like coming home. I’m always greeted so warmly, and the owner is truly the best. I can even call ahead and she’ll have the most delicious beef tangsuyuk ready for me. She’s so kind and inviting—and everyone who works here is just as wonderful. I always make it a point to stop by whenever I’m in the area. Absolutely love this place!

Dinners with Dad, Lunch edition, Houston prefecture, episode 732-ish…dad was craving jambong but he can’t eat spicy anymore so we originally were all geeked up to go to Paik Noodle House (which is a chain from Koreans favorite chef) but they were closed on Tuesdays and not sure if ‘geeked up’ described my dad’s demeanor but it makes for a better story…found this place not far from Paik’s in the 5th layer of Houston…one lady running the front and a little Hispanic lady helping her in the back…food was gooooooooood…only complaint was they used the wrong kinda noodles for his jampong…we ate half of what we ordered but it was all delicious! Highly recommend!

I got number 1. The spicy seafood noodles was tasty. I got too full otherwise I would had finished all broth. The black bean noodles were ok, I forgot to ask more spicy for that. I like the kimchi as well. I will come back to try different dishes though. The service is very friendly. Hot tea for FREE is a big for me. Someone mentioning in their comments that music will help with the atmosphere, I agree with them. Just that yesterday after 14hrs works I think no music was perfect since I had had been over stimulating at work.

The food here is phenomenal! The service is phenomenal! It is in a strip mall, and very simple interior, but we do not go there for ambience, we go there for the amazing food. It’s our new favorite Korean noodle spot.

My favorite dish from them is the spicy cold chewy noodles. It is super refreshing and very chewy. It comes with a bowl of soup, as well. I love it! The spicy noodles pair really well with their fried dumplings and kimchi. Their kimchi is one of the best I ever had! I absolutely love their kimchi and always ask for extra. I also like their jjampong; it is seasoned well. Their kalguksu and black bean noodles are okay and a bit on the blander side. All their portions are huge, and the prices are very reasonable. They are super nice and check up on you often. Overall, if you want a delicious Korean meal, this place is definitely a great place to stop by, especially for the spicy chewy noodles!

Food (no msg): - donkatsu: $17.99 - the pork is marinated before breading and very juicy - white seafood noodle: $14.99 - I’ve never seen a white jjamppong on a menu. It was very good! - fish cake soup: $13.85 - good! - knife cut noodle: $14.99 - the broth is boiled in a touch of garlic and I found it a touch spicy but barely. Also very good! Service: the owner has been here for 12+ here’s. She is so friendly and hospitable. Steve is a gentle and sweet person. Both very helpful and knowledgeable. Atmosphere: homey and comfortable. It was a touch warm for me and I asked if it was warm and Steve turned up the air for us.

Everything was so good especially the spicy rice cakes with fish cakes and onions in it. It was long, chewy, but soft at the same time. The black bean noodles was good as well, not super salty which I liked. The seafood noodle soup was very umami, and plentiful. Their kimchi was so so so crunchy, fresh, and sour that I asked for more refills lol. Will come back when I crave their food.

I came here 40 minutes before they closed and they welcomed me with open items. (I know that is typically frowned upon in the F&B industry). The employees were very nice and welcoming. They seemed like they were ready to field any questions about the menu but I already had my eyes set on their black bean noodles. I ordered the #1 Black Bean Noodles & Spicy Seafood Soup split dish and fried dumplings. The fried dumplings came out in a huge tray with about 10 dumplings. My favorite part were the small glass noodles inside. The black bean noodles were cooked well and had a nice bounce to it which paired nicely with the black bean sauce. The spicy seafood soup was my favorite however. It had a small kick to it and was packed with flavor. Overall, I would like to visit this place again.

There was food dishes in the middle of a long table, random ingredients stored out in the open, kitchen gadgets all over the place, and random things just laying around. -The spicy stir-fried pork was pretty salty and not sure this entree is worth the price tag. -The restaurant definitely needs to be remodeled/updated. We travel into Houston almost every Saturday and often eat Asian and more often than not try to get Korean. Manna Noodle will now be our regular stop. Amazing food, I mean really amazing food. Today we tried the fried dumplings and the Sweet and sour beef. The beef arrived and at first look was not what we expected. Breaded crispy with some onions, peppers and mushrooms. Let me tell you the breading was amazing, crispy light and just amazing. Oh, and maybe the best Kimchi this side of the Pacific Ocean I have ever had. We will be back.

Spicy seafood soup - (5/5) Amazing broth. The owner says it take her 3 days to cook it. It was extremely flavorful. Tteokbokki - (5/5) the owner told me she uses the spicy seafood soup broth to make the tteokbokki sauce. Makes sense considering this is the best tteobbokki I've had in Houston.The spice level was plenty for the average person. Jjajangmyeon - I haven't had this dish much so I wasn't sure what to rank it. It's good, but I really enjoyed the other two dishes a lot so this didn't shine as bright. Service was fast and the owner is nice. Portion sizes are good. I enjoyed talking to her before the lunch rush. Will def make the trip back for these dishes and others.

Came here for dinner and had friendly staff who asked to refill kimchi/water/tea promptly. Ordered the champon which had lots of seafood, delicious soup base, and great flavor with chewy noodles! Also got the spicy pork which came in a large size. Would highly recommend trying out this authentic Korean place!!

We love Sonna's food!! This place is a to go to if you want some authentic Korean food. Everything is freshly made to order.

I happened to be the only one in the restaurant and got the chance to speak to the owner. She was super sweet and gave awesome recommendations. I ended up trying the Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup which was DELISH. The portion size was huge and I could barley finish half of it before having to pack up the rest. Since the dish came with a large portion of noodles, I just wish there was more seafood to balance it out. I believe they are closed on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month. Maybe call ahead to check if you're planning to eat here on a Monday to be sure!

Small shop in a quiet shopping plaza near Bunker Hill. We came by on a Friday night. Interior is very quaint and definitely gives off mom and pop vibes. There were two tables, including us, and we were expecting them to be a bit busier at prime time. We ordered the tteobokki and the mixed noodle dish (JJM and spicy seafood noodles). It took around 20-25 minutes to get our food and it seemed like it was cooked to order. The spicy rice cakes were good; I haven't had the bigger rice cakes in a while. The sauce was slightly watery compared to most other places but the flavor was good. The noodles were a bit on the bland side. The JJM was slightly bland for me, I expected a bit more flavor but it's also my first time trying the Korean version. Overall, it was still better than the spicy seafood noodle. It's a bit watery and flavorless in my opinion compared to similar versions I've had in LA Koreatown. Overall, a bit let down compared to the other reviews!

A hidden gem - the food was incredible and tasted like it was homemade. I got the spicy fried chicken - nice and spicy, tangy, and sweet. Spouse got the white seafood noodle soup and said it reminded him of his mom's fish noodle soup. Service was great. Large portions for the price. We will be coming back.

Great noodle house. It's a small/medium size restaurant, and the food's flavor and friendliness of the staff shine through. This place is a nice find in Koreatown in Spring Branch. It's in a shopping with a shared large parking lot. We were seated quickly and immediately taken care. The fried dumplings, spicy seafood dumpling soup, and spicy seafood soup tasted great. The portions were all generous and and we had enough soup for another meal to-go at home. The noodles taste fresh and have the broth flavor soaked in. Great experience and will return!

I absolutely love this place! The first time we came here, she was about to close but she stayed open to take our order. She was very sweet and informative on the food on the menu. We ended up getting Spicy Rice Cakes, Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup, and Black Bean Noodles and man it was fantastic!!

This place's black been noodles and seafood noodles definitely tasted like they used instant sauce, then watered it down. It was bland and had a chemical, bitter aftertaste. Also the noodles were too soft and not the authentic kind that go with those dishes. No wonder there were only 2 other diners in the entire restaurant and no other Koreans (besides myself) at the height of lunch hour, around 12 noon.

Don't sleep on this place. The owner is very sweet and funny and works hard to serve y'all delicious food. She also makes the best kimchi I've ever had. Get the jajangmyeon and tteokbokki.

Loved this cute mom & pop restaurant. The spicy seafood & black bean noodles were addicting... I ended up clearing my entire bowl. I enjoyed the kimchi here as well. I'll definitely come back again soon and try their rice dishes!

I might have found my new favourite place for korean noodles. So far, I've only tried the stir-fried Jjamppong. Portion was a lot bigger than I expected, and I definitely couldn't finish all at once. The flavour was nice and tasty and I can imagine the regular jjamppong and stir fried tteokbokki would be really good as well. Service was also really good. There's no sign outside, but inside there is a sign that says they take a break from 3:00-4:30 and I had come about 3:30. They were still very friendly and helpful. There's a very homey vibe.

This is a small place and they were very friendly. I had the seafood soup and it was great. Just the right amount of spice. I also got an order of dumplings that were perfect. Great place to go.

Cozy and friendly atmosphere. The menu was simple and have the feel of a home cooked meal. I tried out the half/half seafood soup and black bean noodles. Jjajangmyeon was not spectacular but it was good for the area. The tea was also a nice touch. Would def. visit again to try some other options.

I was craving for spicy pork and looking on yelp to find some good places and this was popping up! If you like spicy add jalapeños to spicy pork, it's more flavorful and spicy enough. I was considering to have either jajjangmyun or spicynoodle and they have half half option on the menu with good portion. I love it!!! Caution: the menu on yelp was super old (5-7yrs ago), I didn't pay attention and thought it's so affordable but the prices are now $3 different. Be careful

Great little find. Restaurant was clean and the staff was great. We happened to be there when nobody else was so we got the opportunity to speak to the owner directly. Had the seafood soup and it was amazing!

Mediocre to poor Chinese-Korean black sauce noodles, likely instant packet variety, like the fried dumpling. Fried beef was sparse thin pounded beef bits and mostly batter. Don't believe the exaggerated 4/5 star reviews.

Have been here a couple times and the food is pretty consistent. I mainly come here for the spicy seafood soup and tangsuyuk. This place definitely satisfies those cravings. Jjajangmyun (black bean noodles) noodles are chewy and the sauce is pretty standard. Flavor seems to be lacking something so I would only get when I'm craving it, and even then I would probably get the #1 (half and half) Spicy seafood soup: broth is rich in flavor. Definitely hits what I'm craving and has great flavor. Seafood and noodles are not bad Tangsuyuk: 18 dollars but the portion was pretty big, not huge. Definitely would share. I think they use rice flour so the texture and crispness was on point. We got the sauce on top and it stayed crispy throughout the meal The people here are really nice!

Rumored to have the best kimchi in town: need to give it a try, as well as their famous black bean noodles. A dark, gloomy Saturday lunch hour, later on raining, the place was a little bit hard to find but we found it. With a baby in a car seat, the owner welcomed us and allowed us three to take a table that can sit six (we were the only guest at the time). I had the cold barley tea and it was refreshing indeed. Complimentary kimchi and radish were served as appetizers and they were very delicious. The sweet and sour beef ($18) was so crispy and flavorful. The noodles ($13) had the right amount of chewiness. The owner also liked chatting with us and she's humorous. We shall return to try out other dishes!

Came here with a group of friends. After reading this reviews beforehand I knew what to expect from the service so I wasn't surprised with the lack of. We got kimchi (very good) and yellow daikon (?). Our water was refilled maybe once and the lady who served us never refilled the sides. She was the only server here. I got the spicy pork with rice and it was good and spicy enough to tolerate. The prices here were higher than others I've been to. The small plate of fried calamari was $13 and my dish was also around $16 with tip. It was really saucy and not my favorite spicy pork I've had. The lady was super nice though and didn't rush us when we were waiting for late arrivals to come before ordering.

This is hands down the best Korean cuisine I've had. The service was absolutely amazing, felt like a family We ordered the white seafood soup, spicy rice cakes, and black bean noodles . Every single dish was so good. Ate till I almsot burst and still wanted to keep eating. Just amazing :)

This place has changed a bit since the owners changed. I quite liked it 5-6 years ago and went often back in the day, but during my recent visit, found the food to be very average, and they were out of black bean noodles.

I give this place like a 3.5. I've come to terms with the fact that Houston Korean food scene is weak, and try to give them some grace...but it's still disappointing when I'm reminded of it. Service was a bit lacking. Banchan game is weak (just pickled radish and kimchi). Their broths are lacking in flavor, although they do give you things to add a little more flavor to your liking. Not bad to check out by any means, but I left a little disappointed.

Absolutely loved their black bean noodles 100% recommend. The spicy soup/broth is actually very spicy but still delicious. It was a small restaurant, but it definitely made a big impression. I will be back soon when I am in the area, and maybe I will get something new. One thing I didn't really like was the metal chopsticks. Yes, it's economical and environmentally efficient but I would've preferred regular wooden ones. The service was great and the prices were reasonable.

Small Korean shop but big flavor! First off I feel bad for not getting the barley tea. The lady offered me the tea but I really just wanted water because it was so hot outside. She kept telling me the health benefits but I really just wanted water so I felt bad lol. I got the tteokbokki and was not disappointed. The Kimchi and pickled radish was also really good and fresh. I love crunchy kimchi. Tteokbokki was sooo good. Spicy but bearable spice! I wanted to go back the next day for more!

I was so looking forward to coming to this restaurant. When I saw the split dish with the spicy seafood soup and the black bean noodles I was sold. Those are some of my favorite dishes. Now, I wouldn't be forced to choose because I could have the best of both worlds. The restaurant itself is in a good location and it's a decent size. I was a little taken back by all the clutter on the tables in the dining area. The service was great and the staff was very friendly but the food was lackluster. The black bean noodles didn't have any flavor and the seafood soup was just average. When there are that many Korean restaurants in the vicinity you have to do better. This place is in horrible but it's not good enough to return. I will continue driving to the Atascocita /Humble area for the Taste of Koreans food.

I typically don't write great reviews but this place is 100/10 the lady that owns it is phenomenal, she makes you feel like she's known you since you were a kid. And the food taste exactly like it. I've tried almost all and it all taste like a home cooked meal. I'm far from home and this place really helps whenever I miss my mothers food

OHMYGOD. This place was so fucking good. I really recommend the tangsooyuk (sweet and sour beef; it came out really hot and crispy! the sauce DID NOT compromise the crispness at all) and the jjajjangmyun (black bean noodle; sooo good and chewy, i love eating it with yellow radish) and the tteokbokki (rice cake; the portion is huge and it comes with fish cakes, onions, carrots eggs, and even clear noodles) You cannot go wrong! The prices are kind of high but it is really worth it- the portions are huge! The person who took our order noticed that we were going to sharing the black bean noodle and offered to split it in half for us beforehand, that was very kind. The 2 ladies working were very nice and and friendly. I really liked the vibe of the restaurant, it was like a mom and pop shop. This place is kind of a far drive for me but it was well worth the trip because of how good the food is. I loved the customer service and how they engaged in conversation with my friend and I. I'm definitely coming back next time to try the rest of the menu.

Everything I've had here is delicious. It is a small, quiet restaurant, so it can be a little awkward. I think it would help if they played music, but that's a minor issue. Besides that, I love this place. I get the number 1, which is half spicy seafood noodle and half black bean noodle (best of both worlds!) The dumplings and spicy fried chicken are also delicious. The portions are also very large; I was really full after my meal. I hope this place gets more recognition, they deserve it!

We tried black bean noodles from Manna Noodle House--it was a dish I'd never tried previously, and I was pleasantly surprised at how it was pretty good! We ordered takeout, and the dish was great for the first order--but when we reheated it the next day, it was just OK. Overall, I liked our takeout meal from Manna Noodle House, but it may not be my favorite Korean restaurant.

Amazing service and the food was so good! I really enjoyed the black bean and spicy seafood noodles. I love having an option to try two different noodles without getting the full size! I would definitely come back. Also, try their tea! It is so refreshing. You can get it hot or cold.

After watching so many different kdramas during quarantine, jamppong was at the top of my list to try when I moved back to Houston. Manna noodle house freakin' hit the spot. It tastes just as how I'd imagine it would taste - the soup is flavorful and spicy. The portion is also huge and is full of various seafood. The owner looks to run front of the house by herself and is always cheerful and delightfully confident of how good her food is. Definitely looking forward to returning once the weather starts dropping again.

As a jajangmyeon fan, I have to say that this restaurant has one of the best korean noodles quality in Houston! The noodles are fresh and chewy. The flavors are also on point. Even the side dishes go so well with the noodles! Just like the restaurant name already says itself, if you are craving for noodles, go here! You won't be disappointed. The owner is very nice and friendly as well. She would casually start a conversation with you and ask if you enjoy the foods. You can grasp a sense of authenticity when being in this restaurant.

This place has very authentic korean noodles. I loved the flavor and the service. Once you enter you are welcomed with barley water. (Korean roasted grain based water) I would recommend the black bean noodles and the spicy seafood noodles. I would 10/10 be back another time

Tiny little mom and pop shop . I think the same sweet grandma that took our order was the one who cooked the meal. Tried their seafood soup and jjajameon. It took about 20mins to get our food but at least it was cooked on the spot. I would definitely go back to try some other dishes.

their barley tea is so refreshing! loved the split noodle bowl options. it feels like a mom & pop shop in the best way possible. very nice staff. lots of room here so i didn't feel cramped in a group.

Incredible service, incredible flavors! The owner is exceptionally kind and her food is seriously incredible. I get (and highly recommend) the tteokbokki (extra spicy) and the Korean bbq beef. Truly the best Korean food and some of the best service I've received in Houston.

Yummy home cooked Korean food with the friendliest staff. The spicy seafood soup and black bean noodles are delicious. Don't expect a fancy place but expect to eat well.
