The Best Takeout Spots In Seattle - Seattle - The Infatuation

"There’s a lot of teriyaki in this town, and Manna serves our favorite. Even in transit, the rice stays fluffy, the protein is piping hot, and the salad (packed separately for optimal crunch) is as crisp as a pile of iceberg shreds and cabbage should be. You can also combine your teriyaki with wok-cooked dishes like general tso’s chicken or fried rice, and adding a homemade pork egg roll is a must." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

The Best Japanese Restaurants In Seattle - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Not to be confused with Manna Deli Teriyaki on Aurora, Manna in Lake City is easily one of the best teriyaki restaurants in town for a few reasons. First, they’re quite skilled at getting char marks on every bite of chicken or marinated short rib. Second, they package their iceberg salad in a separate container, which prevents the lettuce from getting soggy. Third, their eggrolls are gloriously crunchy bundles of ground pork and cabbage that taste particularly wonderful when dragged in the puddle of teriyaki sauce/salad dressing/sriracha that you made on your plate. Need we go on?" - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley, gabe guarente

Google
I'm surprised by the reviews here having seemingly the opposite of my experience. Service was great, the lady had our order ready and was plenty nice about it. I ordered a combo teriyaki plate with chicken and spicy pork. Getting the pork spicy was an extra $3, which I thought was a little ridiculous but w/e. Partner got a bento box. Everything seemed fine but the chicken was pretty bad. Teriyaki sauce itself was fine, but the chicken was rubbery, almost reminded me of the all-too-common 'woody' chicken that I sometimes would get in the raw chicken from Costco. I think they also cut the chicken along the grain, making each piece feel more rubbery and stringy than needed. I'm hoping the chicken I got was just a one-off, will likely come by again, but if that's how the quality is here normally I have no idea how they maintain a good rating on here.

Normally I go to another teriyaki joint up on 15th but wanted to try Manna out since it’s in the neighborhood. Walked in on a sunny weekday evening and ordered chicken katsu to go. It’s your typical teriyaki joint - small and clean, with photos on the menu. Came to $17 and some change before tip. Waited less than 10 mins and was on my way. To my surprise, Manna gives out a large portion of katsu but the rice portion is quite small. They didn’t even fill the rice to the top of the box. Katsu is crispy and flavorful! Next time I’ll just ask for extra rice.

Google
Food was really good. Got the chicken teriyaki and stir fried vegetables, spring rolls, and crab wontons. Would highly recommend this place. The women at the front was also really sweet and really nice

Google
I come here frequently… today I ordered over the phone for pickup and asked for one eggroll and thought I made it clear since I said it twice . I get there and she gave me two , I gently said I only ordered one and the woman who was checking me out got very frustrated and even tried to argue with me about how many egg rolls I said I wanted.. I didn’t really mind the attitude because I thought maybe she had a long day. She begins to slam recipients down and snatching everything she needed to grab in order to give me my food… i never got treated like this anywhere ever .. it honestly made me want to cry . I loved coming here but if she’s working I’m no longer going to be giving this company business .

Google
Manna Teriyaki, I believe, is a Korean-American run establishment that serves great honest food and the owners/personal are extremely personable. I went with the Japanese-PNW style menu and I had the C3 combo of Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken Katsu, and Gyoza. The salad was just iceberg lettuce (this is good as I do not care for carrots) with a slightly sweet dressing on the side, the teriyaki was seasoned perfectly, the katsu was nice and crunchy, the gyoza (whilst obviously not cooked at that particular moment) were tasty and crispy. The three sauces were exactly as they should be! Delicious! Manna Teriyaki is worth a trip to the nebulous Lake City. (Still on the westside of Lake Washington.) Manna Teriyaki offers Korean specialities as well, which I must make my return to sample. :)

Google
This is a classic teriyaki place. No frills, no western style service, and no public bathroom. They do their job well and are typical for Teriyaki joints. Expecting to be treated like the world revolves around you isn’t going to fly at most of these old school places. The goal is fast home cooked food to feed the hungry people who need it, not a to make you feel like a king. This is working people food. In a working class neighborhood. Don’t like it, don’t get teriyaki from a classic place. Maybe try one of the fancier places geared towards your sensibilities. They are consistent, hard working, and have been a staple for as long as I have memories. The food is hot, good, will fill you up, and keep you fueled. Period. Which is the whole point of Seattle Teriyaki. Never change, Manna.

Google
Simple teriyaki place, but I was very impressed. Very fast service, with generous portions and tasted great. Look forward to coming back!

Google
As with most classic teriyaki the portion size is great. The sauce is lack luster and service mediocre. But for fast and easy chicken teriyaki - not too bad.

Yelp
Manna is a solid spot to get your teriyaki fix. What the bf and I ordered: Chx Teriyaki + Katsu Combo and some gyoza The low down: Generous portions, hefty pieces of chicken with decent char marks (I personally like a tad more char...but Manna's meets the minimum so all good there), teriyaki sauce wasn't too sweet, katsu remained crispy and not oily even in a closed container, nice zing to their katsu sauce, fresh side salad with sesame dressing. Check. Check. Check, Dock a point: Gyoza was a little light on filling but it was tasty and also still crispy. Overall, my fiance and I were pleasantly surprised. Would order from Manna again.

Yelp
The chicken teriyaki is consistently good. A good amount of rice to chicken ratio. Not too much unnecessary sauce and comes with extra sauce just in case.
google avatar

Yelp
Respectful portions. Rice always fluffy & fresh. Chicken, Beef or Pork always tender and bursting with flavors. Side salad is simple, yet delightfully tasty. Must try the spare ribs! Delicious! My choices: 1. Boneless chicken teriyaki (with xtra chix) 2. Chicken yakisoba (w xtra chix) 3. Spare ribs with rice

Yelp
This shrimp tempura is the best shrimp tempura I have ever had in my whole life!!! Multiple times, like probably over two dozen. It is consistent! It is a light and delectable crispy crunch that is absolutely perfect and everything I could want in a tempura! Please keep making it the way you make it because it is heavenly! Thank you for always fulfilling my lunch dreams!

Yelp
My partner's spicy chicken was good, but I unfortunately got a bit sick from the tofu yakisoba. The portions were very generous, but it was a little pricy (just over $35 for the both of us). No AC inside, but there are tables. Service was very friendly.

Yelp
This has been 4th or 5th time since its been like this. I am not sure if the management/ owner has changed recently, but I mean... what is up with the portion of the rice and salad in the box here?? I've been very patiently observing for a few months and this is not acceptable. Please be consistent. Thanks. Your regular customer,

Alfredo

Yelp
Comida muy rica y abundante una muy buena opción si te gusta el pollo Teriyaki y katsu muy buenos.

Duncan S.

Yelp
Best teriyaki for the price. Huge portions chicken, side salad and slaw with perfectly cooked rice. The Katsu is even better, and they aerate the corner so it doesn't get soggy. Also the woman at the front is always extremely sweet. Definitely a hidden gem.

Brian W.

Yelp
Best Teriyaki Chicken in a long time. First time Grub Hub. I'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Kelly B.

Yelp
Hubby and I didn't feel like cooking so we decided to get Manna Teriyaki. I got chicken, he got beef teriyaki. Not our first time by a long shot but as always it was delicious. Tender, tasty meat good rice and salad. Always a treat!
google avatar

Yelp
They get one star for being closed on Sunday but not having updated hours on Yelp. Screw these guys!

Yelp
Stopped in after finding out Tubs had moved to Bothell. It's a very standard Teriyaki joint. I got the Chicken & Gyoza, the service is prompt and friendly. The food is definitely solid. It's exactly what you're looking for if you want a little 'yaki. Clean interior, seating is a little limited. But try them!

Yelp
This place is amazing teriyaki. We in the Wedgewood neighborhood had I love Bento for many years and when it closed down, we didn't know where to go to get the same style of teriyaki. This place has the same homestyle, and better yet there Gyoza is fried, which is delicious. The chicken teriyaki and the spicy chicken are great and the atmosphere is really nice and homey. Definitely try this.!

Langston G.

Yelp
Chicken teriyaki, katsu, and gyoza combo was great for calling it in and be ready driving over from green lake. I wish it was cheaper, but it seems like every combo in the area starts at 20$ nowadays.

Anthony H.

Yelp
Best teriyaki and katsu at great prices. The quality of ingredients is unmatched. Meat nice and moist and incredible flavor.
google avatar

Brandon E.

Yelp
We love Manna. Good quality of meat and priced fairly. We drive all the way from central district to get our favorite teriyaki!

Yelp
It's been a few years since I have been here but the most recent visit was a success ! Great spicy chicken and regular - Teriyaki snob here as well so I will just put that out there - Everyones prices are going up and this joint is no exception but legit teriyaki, quick service and large portions. Enjoy -
google avatar

Yelp
I can safely say that Manna Teriyaki is the BEST teriyaki spot in the Seattle Area! The chicken teriyaki has a healthy portion of chicken + rice and a nice side salad to complete the meal. The chicken in grilled to moist perfection, I know I never thought I'd use those two words together. The meat is never charred nor undercooked. The ratio of sauce on the rice and chicken is perfectly measured. And a nice bowl of miso soup always makes my meal complete. I am a regular at this place, and the owner is very nice! I hope this place never goes away.
google avatar

Jacob E.

Yelp
Best teriyaki in north Seattle by far - good char on the meat and not annoyingly sweet. The katsu isn't too dried out like a lot of places - and if you like spicy you need to try the spicy mushroom teriyaki - absolutely . Run by a very kind man with his family who have been there for years. If you're new to Seattle or you've been here and not tried it don't deprive yourself of some of the best teriyaki in the city.

Sara K.

Yelp
I ordered through door dash. The order arrived hot, chicken was tasty, rice was cook nicely. However, when I bit into one of the spring rolls I bit into chunk of plastic that was inside the spring roll. I will not order those again.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Like coffee, Seattle is well-known for their Teriyaki. And Manna is one of the best and favorites.

Erin Z.

Yelp
I love their Spicy Chicken Teriyaki and Mongolian Beef. And the mini size tub of salad dressing for the salad that comes with the Spicy Chicken Teriyaki is delicious!
google avatar

Rev. Harold C.

Yelp
I particularly like the bento box. It nice to have a variety with the California Rolls, Gyozas, tempura and salad. My grandkids like the teriyaki sauce there as well. Good menu.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by here to grab a quick lunch to-go and regretted it. We tried the "prawns" and the salmon teriyaki. The salmon was SO dry and overcooked. Think "albacore-tuna-straight-out-of-a-can" dry. The prawns were more like small/medium sized shrimp. Box was slopped together and just looked very sad.... They too were overcooked, dry and very disappointing. Sauce was lackluster. Both meals felt stingy in lack of meat + quality ingredients + adding way too much rice as a filler. I probably should have went with standard chicken teriyaki. Unfortunately, they missed the mark on my last visit as I would not return to try anything else. Based on my last order here, would NOT recommend.

Annony O.

Yelp
Rat chewed hole through to-go and lady still served it to me. Didn't notice till later, cost me $14.30. didn't return to complain or ask money back. Ordered sweet sour chicken. Thanks for serving me trash Manna tertaki!

Marty J.

Yelp
Nice family business, clean and efficient. I recommend the spicy chicken mushroom teriyaki, but other dishes including vegetables are excellent also.
google avatar

Anna D.

Yelp
I have lived in Northgate/Lake City area for 3 years and never tried this spot. It's kind of hidden, but I'm impressed and upset I didn't find it sooner! Very friendly, affordable, and some of the best tasting teriyaki I've had in this area.

Jon B.

Yelp
This was really good. The staff was extremely nice. Would highly recommend this place & definitely coming back when I'm in the area again. Fried rice had edamame & green beans. Topped with a fried egg too! Also chicken teriyaki was fire !
google avatar

James S.

Yelp
This review is for takeout. This place rocks. Lot of variety. The food does not come out that quickly but that probably means that it is fresh and they actually cook it. My favorite is the teriyaki chicken and general tso chicken combo. Each dish comes with rice and the classic western salad. I'd also recommend the chicken Katsu. Portion size is great. This could fill you up for two meals. Great if you are a student and trying to save money. Don't dine in. During lunch they make bubble tea and shakes right by the register. It is so loud you can't place an order. Also the restroom sink is out of order. It is a small dine in area plus a lot of people come in and out since they do the take out. Perfect place for take out. I'd recommend calling in first to place your order and then picking it up.
google avatar

Kenneth C.

Yelp
Support your local eatery during the pandemic is important. We order take out here often. Teriyaki chicken, Chicken Katsu, and Mongolian beef are pretty good. Our boys love the salad that comes with the entree. It is just lettuce and dressing, but who am I to complain when you can get teenagers to eat their vegetables.
google avatar

Wissam K.

Yelp
Cook put left overs back on the grill to serve again! Unethical, likely food health violation. Won't go back.

Bayleigh S.

Yelp
I ordered through DoorDash delivery. My order got canceled after being confirmed by the restaurant and so I contacted the restaurant and asked if they still had the order and that if i could have someone come pick it up. When we got there to get the order they had thrown it away saying we took to long to get there when we were a block away? I've had some pretty shitty experiences with DoorDash but this is a whole new level of shitty!! Do not DoorDash through this restaurant they have no clue how to handle these types of situations and kept telling me I needed to contact DoorDash when I asked if the food had already been picked up as well as offering to pay in person if the payment hadn't gone through. They were not helpful whatsoever!!

Steve M.

Yelp
Great miso soup, teriyaki chicken is fabulous and plenty of it. The bento boxes have been great. If you leave here hungry and dissatisfied, that's on you.
google avatar

Tony S.

Yelp
This is based off uber eats. I use to live right next door to this place and I always order the same thing. Chicken teriyaki with fried rice instead of white rice. I made the substitution on uber eats, then the guy calls and says he can't do it. I said to charge me whatever for an upcharge for the modification but he said he couldn't accommodate me. I use to go to this place at least once a week, same with my girlfriend. Hate to say it, but this place will never get my business ever again...
google avatar

a c.

Yelp
Great meal. Teriyaki chicken was cooked perfectly and had those little crispy burnt edges that made it taste so special. Used a $15 coupon from Uber but tipped half of its large value on top of payment and plan on going back soon to drop loads of future bills. This place needs to survive Covid. Keep up the tasty tasty good work.
google avatar

Christine A.

Yelp
Excellent teriyaki! Fast, delicious and free soup while you wait! Parking options are great and right out front!
google avatar

Anna U.

Yelp
Complimentary miso soup served buffet style (at least for onsite diners, don't know about to-go or pick up orders). Nice friendly owners. The food was okay. The tofu appeared to be double-fried so the skin was extra thick and crispy - kind of odd. That's all I remember at the meal ... it was not otherwise remarkable.
google avatar

Daniel A.

Yelp
This place ain't a 3. Whatever you yelpers have it at. Lets start with the food, it is great. Portions are big which is rare. The owners are incredibly nice. There's literally nothing wrong with this place, it's teriyaki what y'all expecting?
google avatar

Katy B.

Yelp
The portions are HUGE. Seriously. One order could easily feed two people no problem. People complain that it's expensive but I don't think it is compared to how much food you get - it's still pretty much what any other place costs. I like to get the chicken teriyaki/chicken katsu/gyoza combo. It comes out to just under $15 but you get at least double the normal portions for both the chicken items plus 4 gyoza AND the salad AND the entire take out container full of rice. It lasts me three meals! I also really like that they have a ton of combos - even teriyaki/Chinese combos so that I don't have to choose if I don't want.

Kerri A.

Yelp
I love this place! My husband and I order from here at least once a month when neither of us feels like cooking and are never disappointed! We have our food delivered via one of 2 services, and it invariably arrives nice and fresh and hot, and the quality and quantity of the chicken in our teriyaki orders is amazing! That is our standard order, and we love it so much, we've yet to try anything else. I will confess that I tried a couple other places over the past few years when offered a BOGO or an offer I couldn't refuse, but we've invariably been disappointed - other places never seem to trim the chicken as carefully, or don't burnish the outside as perfectly (or at all), or their sauce is too sweet, or too thin, or not enough, or their salad is "wet" with lame dressing, or the rice isn't fluffy and sticky (an amazing feat!), but blah, so these guys get everything right every time and area always quick and it's alway a great value. We highly recommend them to all (p.s. we're in Wedgwood, not LFP, not sure why it says that...)
google avatar

Chow H.

Yelp
We found this place, ordered chicken Katsu with gyoza, with bubble teas. Food was good but the tea was disappointing because there is no tea flavor and just taro and papaya powder taste. Friendly staffs and seems pretty clean place, we might give this place a try again for lunch.

Bruce W.

Yelp
Best teriyaki in the North End. My fave for sure is the yakisoba. Noodles are done correctly (not soggy, like most places) and a good balance of sauce, meat, vegetables, and noodles. Portions are substantial - I get two lunches out of one order of yakisoba. Service is speedy and reliable. I eat there every week and I've never had a bad meal. Staff is very friendly and price is right (for Seattle - I can only imagine how much their rent has gone up in the past 5 years but their prices have stayed the same.) The negative reviews are way out whack. Give them a try yourself and make up your own mind. I doubt you will be disappointed
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
Great taste and huge potion ! Great customer service and excellent for take out. I usually get regular teriyaki chicken and chicken kazu for take out when I don't want to cook. If you are super hungry then order with extra and the potion pretty much doubled!
google avatar

Lee S.

Yelp
This place deserves more credit. Everything is solid, from quality to portion size and price. I got the spicy teriyaki chicken, and they use the right cut - theighs - to keep everything tender and juicy. No dry breast meat here. Great place for a quick no-frills lunch.
google avatar

Sinath M.

Yelp
Live very close by. The reviews is what brought me here. So glad I did! Ordered three different orders, orange chicken, chicken fried rice, and the regular chicken teriyaki. Teriyaki is offered in two sizes. Large size was about 10ish but was enough for two meals! Great portions and I think the price is reasonable. I'm glad they offer other options than just teriyaki like a lot of teriyaki restaurants. I will definitely be coming here on those nights I'm too tired to cook dinner lol
google avatar

David D.

Yelp
Orange chicken, fresh from the rubber tree! I ordered the Orange chicken, and when it came out, it was swimming in at least a quarter inch of the orange sauce. Sometimes, less is more. This is one of those times. But, i figured, what the hell, it's here, how bad could it be? See, the thing about dishes like orange and other saucy servings is this: each piece of meat should be big enough that when you cook it, it can take the heat and maintain its chicken like qualities. When they are chopped as small as they were on this plate, and thrown into a clearly too hot pan, they transform into little rubbery nuggets akin to gizzards. I did not order to Orange Gizzards.
google avatar

Janie H.

Yelp
For a Teriyaki joint I give it all 5 stars. I have never liked any Teriyaki joint or one that was worth going back to. I go to this place about once a week for lunch. They have the best katsu chicken (huge portion too). All the other stuff I have tried is yummy too. I don't find the rice to meat ratio to be too much rice like the other review suggested....you get so much meat I'm glad there is lots of rice. Careful when going around noon when school is in session...all the high school kids are in there and it can take a while to get your dish. Just call in your order first.

Andre I.

Yelp
Called in hopes to place an order pick up. Instead of just popping in I decided to be considerate and call. Called at 8 pm and was told I couldn't place an order because they close at 8:45. Bummer. Won't be coming back.
