"At 303 West Fifth Street in the new Hanover Republic Square apartment building, Manny’s is a casual downtown cafe expected to open in mid-February that will serve sandwiches (including gluten-free options), bowls, salads, smoothies, and snacks. Its design takes cues from the building’s art deco sensibilities and will include both an indoor dining area and a patio with garden details; the team worked with architecture firm Rios and interior designer Peter Bowden on Manny’s interior." - Nadia Chaudhury
"For braised pork belly, garlic noodles, porchetta stuffed with mushroom sticky rice, and black sesame mochi cakes, order from the Vietnamese pop-up (note that pre-orders open on Feb. 8th at noon, and will probably sell out quickly). Their Lunar New Year menu serves four to five people, costs $150, and is available for pick up or delivery. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation
"At Manny’s on 16th Street, Farming Hope employs formerly incarcerated individuals to serve food, integrating the nonprofit’s second‑chance hiring and job‑training mission into a neighborhood dining operation." - Paolo Bicchieri
"I consider Manny’s pastrami legendary, and while the simple addition of JP Graziano’s giardiniera may not sit well with bubbe, that tangy tweak makes the sandwich a fun deviation for many Chicagoans." - Ashok Selvam
"Diners may recognize its work from Manny’s, the Mission cafe that served Farming Hope’s food before it closed during the pandemic (it has since reopened and Farming Hope will resume running its food and beverage program in June)." - Ellen Fort
