I was excited to try Manolo because I've passed it a bunch of times and it's always pretty crowded. One night we walked by, and there was actually a line out the door! So I thought, this place must be pretty good. I stopped in for lunch the other day and I have to say I was very underwhelmed.
The service was fine, but a little slow. We were seated for several minutes before somebody came over to bring us water and take our drink order. The restaurant doesn't have cocktails or liquor, but they do have beer and wine.
The menu is expansive, and has a ton of staples like burgers, pizza, breakfast, & pastas. My friend and I shared a steak salad and a pizza. The salad was very basic and bland and was served without dressing, with oil and vinegar on the side. The salad had a hard boiled egg, shredded carrots, and four strips of steak. I would not recommend ordering a salad from Manolo. This steak salad is their most expensive salad and it certainly was not worth it.
The Pizza on the other hand was absolutely delicious, and the saving grace of this review. We got the Provenzal Pizza in a size medium, which is cut into 8 squares, perfect sharing amount for two people. The pizza was super cheesy with just a touch of red sauce underneath and the perfect amount of garlic. Definitely recommend this if you like a really cheesy pizza! While we didn't try any, the desserts also looked quite good.
Lastly, the atmosphere in the restaurant was nothing special, it kind of just had an open diner feel, but there are plenty of tables and it didn't get super loud. They also have TVs around the restaurant and had sports playing. The pricing wasn't expensive, which is refreshing for Miami.
I wouldn't recommend Manolo unfortunately. It was a pretty meh experience over all and while the pizza was good, all things considered I don't think I would return for another meal here.
