The food is phenomenal, but the entire menu is overpriced and the portions are very unsatisfying. I've gone twice and enjoyed everything, but after the 2nd time our group went to another restaurant because we were still hungry. The food tastes great, but it doesn't feel like a meal and there are other places nearby with good food at significantly better prices.

The food was delicious and flavorful, the dessert delicious, my only suggestion would be to warm the roll they serve the icecream sandwich on. The drinks were fruity and delicious, Highly recommend this restaurant.

Good, neutral, bad I came in here with high hopes and leaving a bit bummed. For the good: the enoki mushroom (bloom shroom) was outstanding! Reminiscent of a blooming onion while holding its own as a mushroom. The San Miguel light beer - how can you go wrong but for $7 it’s priced fair. The neutral: the bourbon banana chai drink. I forget its name. At worst it’s a pretty flavorless cocktail. At best it’s a decent “old fashioned”. The bad: the lechon liempo (pork belly). For $30 it came out maybe luke warm and had incredibly hard pork skin. I should have said something, but didn’t incase this was how traditional Filipino pork belly is served, but after some research….no. It was not crispy, light, or crunchy. It was hard, reminiscent of biting through a hard sugar candy like a peppermint or brittle. Watch and listen to the video. I’m upset because I feel a chef should have recognized that is not a properly prepared pork belly and not served it. Overall I’m still willing to give this another shot down the line, but for the price, I’m not sure it was worth it.

Came here with a party of 6 and was left disappointed and underwhelmed. We were excited to hear a Filipino restaurant was opening close by to us, but the reality fell short from what we had hoped to get. We got the bloom shroom, lechon baka, lechon liempo, grilled snapper, balong burger, drink and ice cream. The bloom shrooms is good, probably the best thing on the menu we tried. Crispy, flavorful with a good sauce. Lechon Baka was fine, but the meat was a bit chewy, portion small, and given the price point I would’ve expected a small side along with it not just rice. It would’ve helped to add visual interest as well, vs just a slab of meat on a black plate. The pork belly skin was hard, not crunchy. The meat itself was tender, but over salted by a large margin with not much other seasoning. The fish was lacking flavor as a whole, couldn’t taste much other than a vague sour taste from what I assume is the calamansi. Burger was okay, and the fries felt like a no thought frozen add on. The burger was pretty pink in the middle but over cooked on the edges. It also lacked much of a sauce so it felt pretty dry. The flavors in the drink do not meld together well, I love a funky cocktail but it was not very good. The calamansi water ice was a bit overpowering, and one of my friends said it was so salty he couldn’t have much more than a bite or two. Overall the food was alright, and I wouldn’t normally be this harsh but if I’m paying 50+ dollars a person I’m expecting a certain level of quality that I didn’t feel I got. I love Filipino food and was excited to have one so close to where I live, but I don’t think I’ll be back unless there’s a turnaround.

Manong definitely gives a comfortable , neighborhood vibe. Very laid back. The food was delicious! I hope to see more options on the menu in the feature. Great addition to Fairmount!

I've been twice now and fall in love with this place even more every time. The dynamite lumpia has been in my dreams for weeks and is absolutely worth going for alone. The service is always impeccable, with a special shout out to everyone who kept my cups filled the entire night. I can't wait to see how they grow and evolve!

This is solely for their new addition of cafe hours. I got the iced pandan latte and ube cinnamon roll. Both were soooo good. The pandan is a syrup. I LOVE the Pandan flavor so it was perfect. The ube latte looked good maybe I’ll try that next time. They’re starting breakfast/brunch menu in April from what the person at the register was saying.

Manong is the newest addition to Fairmount with a unique menu and inspiration from Outback! We loved the service and drinks, but found the ambiance and some dishes lacking. We ended up sitting at the bar because the tables were super close together, very glad we did. Eli, our bartender, was awesome. Very informative and helpful about the cocktails and dishes. The bar was definitely the move! For cocktails, we got the ube halaya and otso otso. I absolutely loved the otso otso, fruity but not overly sweet. The ube halaya was so creamy from the coconut. Top tier cocktails. For food, we started with the bloom shroom, their take on the blooming onion but with enoki mushrooms. It was battered and fried well, with the tops crispy and the base softer. The sauce was your standard ketchup/mayo + seasonings. It was executed well and presented beautifully. We also got the chicken and beef skewers. The chicken was tender but lacking a little flavor. The beef was chewy but had great flavor. I feel there are a lot of other options on the menu, so these could be skipped. The dynamite lumpia were so delicious. It was almost like a flaky, savory pastry filled with pork, jalapenos and mozzarella. The sweet chili sauce added a nice tang. We got the 1/2lb balong burger and fries which took 45 minutes to come out. Our apps came out very quickly, so there was 30 minutes between appetizers to entree which at that point, we thought they may have forgotten to put it in. The burger was very tasty though, a lot of sweet elements to it. Hawaiian roll, banana ketchup. Cooked medium and juicy. The fries were a total miss, oversalted and tasted like a frozen french fry you’d get at a grocery store. The ginataang kangkong also took 45 minutes. It’s essentially a creamed spinach and unfortunately it was so bland. The notes of garlic and shallot did not come through. Overall, I love the concept and innovative menu. I think the execution is lacking on some dishes, and the space needs a bit more of an ambiance, but there is a lot of potential! I hope they can work out the kinks and become a neighborhood staple.

Make a reservation fast! This place is so good! It's such a vibe. Diner meets Applebees meets Denny's meets Philly! (This place feels so Philly!) All the nostalgia you could possibly want! And the food is top tier in all categories! I must admit. I love Tabachoy and when I learned that the chef/owner was opening a new restaurant in Fairmount, my friend and I waited until they opened the doors and were on a reservation right away! This is their second week and they are already killing it! The servers are on top of things, they have flavorful cocktails and the food? Delicious! Please order the bloomin shroom! Crispy and delicious and dip it in the salsa rosada! You should try the lechon liempo! This crispy pork belly in the sauce is so delicious! So much flavor! And Chef and owner Chance Anies brings his expertise and personal touch to both of his restaurants as he makes his way around tables and takes time to chat with the diners. This matters. He creates community with his restaurants and is so personable. It adds to the beautiful food. By the way, I used to have a rule that I would not drink blue cocktails. I broke that rule at Manong and indulged in the marg...bright blue and delicious. This is a great place. Come here.

Wanted to try this new restaurant based on the reviews. Service was very good but that is about all. It is very noisy the tables are very close together. The food is what I came for was average at best. I ordered the salad very bland taste. Next ordered the pasta which was not that hot. They replaced it and it was good not great. Based on the recommendation I ordered the pork entree. It was very dry and not what I expected. As a side order we ordered spinach. This was very bad. The taste awful. I will definitely not be rushing back

Overall the experience was very good. The service was great our server gave great recommendations. The restaurants lighting and vibe was also just right it is casual. The food was good but tabochoy is overall better some standouts were the ensaladang sariwa it was perfectly seasoned and dressed. Get the ube ice cream. Skip the pasta dish as it just lacked flavor. The espresso martini was small for the price and the cup was not full the flavor was good though. I really made this review to post the menu because I struggled to find a good one online.

Such a delight to have this restaurant in the neighborhood! The atmosphere, service and food are totally on point! Everyone I have encountered is very friendly and welcoming. The lighting is fabulous! OMG! The food knocks it out of the park. The lumpia, bloom shroom, salad and burgers are not to be missed! Cannot wait to go back! Want to try the pork belly and prime rib.
