The 38 Best Restaurants in La Paz, Bolivia | Eater

"Manq’a is a culinary education program with a social justice mission. The operation has trained over 7,500 underprivileged young residents as chefs and entrepreneurs. Along with the school, Manq’a operates a restaurant where the trainees create sophisticated dishes that highlight fresh, local ingredients. Don’t miss the catch of the day and tasting platters that turn Bolivian classics like fried yuca and beef rolls into tapas. There is also a branch in the Bosque." - Valeria Dorado

One of the best restaurants we had on our journey through Latin America! The food is delicious - prepared and presented with lots of care, skill and attention for detail. The service was extremely attentive and kind. From the insight the restaurant reveals a very pretty old building. The prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. For lunch the restaurant even offers a three-course menu for 85 BOB (as of October 2025), but you can also order a la cart. Overall an absolute must if you happen to be in this area!

Manq’a Restaurante in La Paz was absolutely amazing! Everything was fantastic, from service to the flavors to the presentation - and the value for money is excellent. Great wine list as well! Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy great Bolivian cuisine.

Recommended by our hosts, Manq’a was an absolute delight! Everything we tried was delicious, from humble empanadas, which were unbelievably light and flavorful, to every single dish that followed. The food quality, presentation, and service were outstanding. Honestly, we’ve dined at Michelin-starred restaurants, and the level of care and taste here rivals some of them. Great wines, excellent attention to detail, and incredibly reasonable prices, dinner for two with wine came to around £20! If this restaurant were in London, it would surely have a long waiting list and prices 10–20 times higher. A must-visit in La Paz!

Excellent experience. Quick and high quality service. The quality and elaboration of the plates is amazing. This place goes face to face with some of the 1-Michelin star restaurants we have tried in Europe. We got 3 limonadas with herbs. Entrant to share: Anticucho chuyma. Very tasty. Principal 1: Keperí. Mest melts in your mouth. Principal 2: Punchawi. Incredible mix of textures and flavours! Postre 1: Jiwra dulce. Postre2: Tapeque Amazónico. All 10/10 for us.

A famous spot for many tourists with a good reason to be. They offer all the time a set menu that includes starter (salad or soup), main dish and dessert for 85 bolivianos (Aug, 2025). Everything was very tasty so we went twice during our short stay in La Paz. For vegetarians, they have two salads and three main meals. (One salad is vegan and one main meal is vegan) We tried 3 different types of desserts and everything was so good and well presented. If you are in town, make sure to try it out, you would better make a reservation.

Amazing culinary experience with authentic Bolivian recipes, but then a bit fancier. The wine pairings were nice, but the dessert blew our minds with how good it was. Overall very much recommended!

Fine dining with fancy, original offers. Not necessarily what bolivians eat, but more like an eclectic modern variety of classic ingredients.

After reading rave reviews about the restaurant, I went there on my first day at La Paz. I was seated straightaway though i didnt have a reservation. The three course menu in English was presented to me. There were so many options to choose from veg, vegan, fish, meat. I had a salad for started, fish for mains and a vegan chocolate cake for dessert. All of them very very delicious, top quality presentation and ingredients. The staff was very friendly and between my limited Spanish and google translate they managed to feed and water me in the best possible way. I will be heading there again for a meal soon. By the way, the portion sizes were huge so go empty stomach. I wasnt able to finish my main course although it was very delicious. For less than 100 BOL, the food was top notch. Many restaurants in Europe will charge 10 times for same quality and standards (then add a service charge and ask you to leave within 2 hours, highly likely you still feeling hungry).
