"This is where you should go to to outfit a classy man cave. It's also a good place to find one-of-a-kind antiques in general. You'll find big industrial pieces alongside Hermes travel bags, Louis Vuitton trunks, and designer furniture by people like Isamu Noguchi and Jean Prouvé. And, fittingly, come here if you’re looking to outfit a bar. "

I feel like this place needs a better explanation of what it is. This is more of a showroom for a massive collection of somewhat masculine, modern art pieces and home decor. It is beautiful, and there are many odd objects and pieces of art that you probably won’t see anywhere else. If you’re on a shopping trip, you might want to skip this one because it’s not as much about buying as it is appreciating. Nothing is priced and the owners prefer that you not take pictures of their collection. I captured an illegal video before I was told. 😳 Still worth the trip.

There are many antiques with a sense of time, and there are many boutiques. I like the style here very much. Thank you boss for making me have a pleasant shopping...😄😅

The nicest guys ever! We stopped in after passing by and being intrigued and were totally surprised by the fun collectibles they have ! My children were so entertained and upon checkout they gave us a sample of their AMAZING hot chocolate ! Can’t wait to go back to try their coffee!!

The item is not too older and the design is modern. If you want open a store and restaurant is good.

I love the antiques here. I have been coming here since 2010 from the old manager Cole, to the two owners, kenny and Cory, this store is not for the faint of hearted for it holds the hospitality, patience, and creativity fit for a king.

Google
Mantiques Modern is a fantastic masculine shop for specific buyers! It is truly a hard work to develop with such a wonderful collection to open a shop like they did. I liked nearly 80% of the collections from my shopping experience earlier alone. Please do check it out!

Google
Visually, this store offers incredibly unique and eclectic delights. I certainly had a good time browsing with my daughter. Unfortunately, I found the snarky fellow working the front counter quite off putting. I'm sure he thought I was a frumpy housewife, while in reality I am a well-informed artist and antique dealer. It was 96 degrees outside and disgustingly humid, so yes, I was dressed for that rather than in my haute couture attire. You can't judge a book by its cover, but in this snooty place, they most certainly do. I found it strange that he had to call the owner every time someone was interested in a piece - not a single item was marked with the price and apparently, they don't keep a list in the store.

Yelp
The owner is very knowledgeable and very fair with his prices. Thank you Cody for letting me visit the store.

Yelp
This place is an incredible curated experience. Super knowledgeable assistance and found exactly what I was looking for. Could get lost in here all afternoon with the collection of things from art, collective design, jewelry, bar ware, objects, sculptures and so many other special things.

Yelp
I am amused at all the reviews... It is similar to the story about the Rolls Royce... I happen upon this unique store when I went to see Marilyn Maye! I LOVE the shop...it is luxurious and has such a fabulous assortment of things I DO NOT need... Enjoy the moment and IF you REALLY want something THEY will sell it to you! Great Store! Bruce Roberson, Houston Texas Designer!

Yelp
omg! i wasn't the only one who was not greeted! it is a very long railroad style shop. it was last sunday afternoon as i walked in, i yelled out "hello" but no response. no one in sight. at the end of the road, there was a guy sitting behind the counter and he did not even looked up!!! awful!! no common courtesy, especially running a retail store!!! but they have cool stuff.

Yelp
This owner is in serious need of an HR department to help him with his hiring. The staff go out of their way to be both rude and unwelcoming. Upon walking into the store, my girlfriend remarked at how handsome a man was standing at the other end of the store. This young man, indeed very handsome, turned out to be the sales associate. He was rude, arrogant and painfully insecure. After asking him the price of an item for the third time, he sighed, grunted and asked us if we could stop asking him for prices 'every five seconds'. I would rather follow a group of lemmings off the edge of a cliff than return to this store which is a shame because it's full of lovely things.

Yelp
What a wonderful collection of beautiful things. I love the environment and all the amazing and more importantly UNIQUE items for sale. The luxury vintage collection of old home goods items was especially impressive. The staff was great, Cole helped us, he seemingly could call from memory obscure facts about every item. I 100% will go back, and you should too!

Yelp
This is an interesting store with many unique and interesting items. I'd rate it higher except: 1) No one greeted or asked our group if we needed any help. It just felt a little odd to walk through an empty store and not get acknowledged by the two people behind the counter. 2) Nothing is priced. Perhaps that means I cannot afford anything in the place, but it's tough to shop and not have any idea what the prices are. I saw a dozen interesting items, but I didn't want to bother the people busy ignoring us to ask what each was priced. Mantiques Modern seems more like an open warehouse for someone's interior design business than an actual decor and antique shop. I'm not sure if I was supposed to drag an indifferent employee around with me asking, "How much is that?," "And that?," "And that?" a hundred times, but it didn't seem worthwhile. As a result, this was more like visiting an interesting tiny museum than an actual store.

Yelp
It really is an awesome store, very cool and unique stuff inside. I had seen this store featured a few times on tv and magazine and was super excited to visit on my trip to NYC. Everything is very overpriced. Which is fine! They had some good stuff that would be okay for a splurge.. When I finally got to the store, I went inside and was greeted by nobody. There were 3 associates working in this small, quiet store and I walked around for a good 15 minutes without even being spoken to. No one asking if I was looking for anything, not even a hello. Thats just bad business. I was excited to buy some things for my desk but just left instead because I really didnt feel like giving any business to these guys.

Yelp
Mantiques is always an exploration adventure. Some of my favorite items were purhased there......

Henry G.

Yelp
Very cool store; one-off items and reasonable prices considering the rarity of most of them. Staff perfectly friendly, if engaged with, and very happy to have a chat or make recommendations. A treasure amongst a sea of ubiquity, worth a visit if you're in New York.

Yelp
I take exception to the name of this place. Many of the items in this shop and their 1stdibs storefront look like they could have come out of my apartment or I could visualize them there in my minds eye. If my design aesthetic includes bold eclectic statements and natural and historic oddities, does that make me 'man'ly? I think not. I have to believe that just means we--- Mantiques Modern and I--- share good taste.

Yelp
Yikes. Was really excited to check it out after walking by. Upon entering it was clear the place had a lot of unique items. Unfortunately everything went down hill after a brief interaction with the sales staff. I asked about one of the items and he curtly replied, "I don't know what you're talking about" without looking up from his computer screen. After a little more detail he said, "can you just show me?" and skulked out from behind his desk. After inquiring if there were any more items like that he just said, "no. Nothing. " I then pushed and said, "well anything in that genre?" --- clearly annoyed he started walking away and with his back to me yelled, " we have over 1,000 categories here you'll have to be more specific". Not helpful. Rude. Gross, miserable person. Sad that someone feels they need to treat other people like that. Especially paying customers. Yikes.

Yelp
Wow... this store makes me motivated to make more money because the stuff is a) Awesome and b) Pricey! But a seriously amazing collection if you have the dough... or even a fun browse.

JustIn T.

Yelp
They quote wildly different prices for the same item to different people... and different in person than online. They don't have a price on any of their items - so that they can change the price to whatever they believe they can get away with to the person asking. Simply are not credible or honest in their dealings. Would find a more honest seller to buy antiques or any item from than these folks.

Yelp
I went into the store three separate times to purchase gifts for housewarmings and a birthday, and was never greeted, asked if I needed help or even acknowledged. At one point I was looking at an item and wanted to know more but there are no prices on anything. Pretty merchandise but I will take my business elsewhere that has customer service and respect for their patrons.

Kenneth F.

Yelp
This "snooty" group of guys reneg on verbal agreements.........so get your quote in writing. If you want to talk to the boss.............you'll find him in Paris!

Yelp
Interesting space to walk through. Many of the items seem to be handmade sculptures with an antique feel.
