The essentials are sold here, including a diverse produce and meat section, all at good prices. Great to have this market in the neighborhood. The veggies here are always super fresh and cheap. Stop paying inflated prices at the farmers market and support this neighborhood gem.

I love coming here when I am lazy to drive to the grocery store the guy that always checks me out at the cash register is so nice and humble hard working guy and the guy behind the meat counter . Good prices and cheap too ! The produce is good too and they have a variety of items here from Mexican candies to juices 🥤 I’ll come back again ! The meat isn’t too bad either !

First time here walked through the store, produce are without prices, I can understand why— an onion, only ONE will cost you $2.01, that is over priced!!

I like this little market. They have my Harina PAN and the best plantains (plátano macho). The best aguacates, crema, queso, etc.

Absolutely love the carne asada diesmio from this spot. I'm from La Puente, I've searched for carne asada in El Monte, La Puente and Pico Rivera this is by far the best meat in town.

This place has, hands down, the best green salsa in LA. Support the local markets and stores.

Came here at the last minute the day before NYE to stock up on New Year's pozole rojo supplies, and they had everything I needed woohoo! All the dried chilis, cabbage, cilantro, and numerous big and giant cans of hominy (note: I didn't spot any dried hominy, but I was in a rush). The market was much bigger inside than I expected from the exterior and with quite a panoply of offerings. I didn't get a chance to see everything, as I was rushing rushing, but I look forward to the next excuse I have to return. Seems like a great opportunity to be able to buy fresh produce from a non-chain grocer around these parts.

Hidden market! I discovered it when I had to go to O'Reilly's for a car part. This market is located directly across from it. What brings me back to this market is their chicken fajitas - the marinade is on point! I used it in non-traditional Mexican style cooking as well for a few friends, including the BF, and they've all loved the flavor and the juiciness of the chicken! The cashier (he's got long hair) and butcher behind the meat counter are always friendly and helpful. That's another reason I like shopping here. Also, the prices of their produce such as onions, cilantro, avocado and select fruits are comparable to the prices at Mitsuwa, a Japanese market about a block North. Enough parking spaces available in front of the market as most shoppers are locals that either walk or bike there.

Interesting store, a little different when looking at the general stores in LA. I come here once a week, get what I need and leave. I never tried their meat, so I cant say I know the quality of it. Staff trying to help, but sometime you can feel they rather you ask someone else. It is ok, more like 3.5 stars store.

Wish this market was better, but if you go make sure to check the expiration date on everything including canned goods. Purchased several canned goods that typically dont expire for a few years and all were expired.

Worst place ever, never coming back here again. The (man) cashier was extremely rude and unprofessional. When asked for a certain item he didn't care and ignore me and went to check people out at the register. The butcher on the other hand was very nice and professional, he told me that they did carry the item I needed, but that at the moment they haven't gotten the shipment in. At least the butcher has manners, respect for others and knows how to treat customers the right way! If I could give this place no starts I would.

How can anyone eat anything purchased here? It is the filthiest place I have seen in a long time! The freezers are filthy and rusting. There was trash that had been swept piled up instead of being picked up. Totally grossed me out! Meat looks good, but with that kind of filth around you, how can you trust it? Don't know how they don't get red tagged for such awful conditions.

Mar Vista Ranch Market is a true Westside gem of a market. The selection is great with a full selection of fresh veggies, meats, dairy, etc. You can seriously eat better than you could at Whole Paycheck Foods, for SOOOOOOO much less. I used to shop at Pavilions, Ralphs, the normal line up. Now my wife and I do 90% of our shopping at the Ranch Market and we save literally a hundred dollars every week. Seriously... our food bill has dropped 70%, and we eat fresh everyday. Now we're amused when we see a person carry out 3 bags from Pavilions after donating $60 to the Vons family. We take home 10 bags for that price from the Ranch Market and fill our whole fridge for a week! We all know the importance of supporting your local farmers market and eating local produce. Make the change to shopping daily at your local Ranch Market and support affordable, healthy and local food suppliers. Why blow all your money for vane image obsessed packaging and phony 'organic' stickers stuck on the same food by the mega grocery store monopolies? We need diversity of food choices like the Mar Vista Ranch Market provides... not Whole Crooks in every zip code. And I don't know what William C.'s problem is exactly... maybe HE was having a bad day after getting mugged by the usual suspects while paying for kinowa and tofu. Try the Mar Vista Ranch Market... you'll love it AND pay your rent!

Low prices and friendly service with a good selection of typical Mexican items. The produce however was very sorry looking and the fruits somewhat spoiled, I'll leave the meats for another time.

Great little market, great customer service... I love stopping by this market to pick up mangoes. This place has some great mangoes and they're usually on sale 2 for $1.00 same mangoes that Whole Foods sells for $2 each. I have never tried their meats as we prefer grass fed & free range. Their veggies are great too. Most of the stuff is very inexpensive here.

The bonus is that this is walking distance from my house. I buy my carne asada there anytime I have a BBQ. Its great. Im also reading some comments that they are not friendly and I'm shocked. The two days in a row I was in there this week I chatted with the dude who I think owns the place and he carried my stuff to the car. The next day I ran back in to get last minute stuff I needed and he chatted with me again about the conversation we had the day before. The guy at the meat counter was cool too. I raved about the place at the BBQ talking about how great everyone was. It's a great find. Love it!!

Have noticed that the service level is dropping at the MV Ranch. Example: the cashier rang me up, did not make eye contact and didn't say a word, not even to tell me the amount of my purchase. And, of course, no "thank you" or what-nots after I handed him the money. Maybe it was a bad day for the man, but it's becoming a bit of a pattern (here and increasingly commonplace is other businesses.). Unfortunately, it's the details and "hominess" that attract (and keep ) clientele to these small markets. Lacking such civil pleasantries, there is little motivation for me to make a stop and shop there. As the service has oscillated between "bleh" and downright amateurish (come on, vulgar comments in Spanish?), I have taken my business to El Camaguey instead, also down on Venice, a few blocks east of Sepulveda.

Maybe it's because I've now lived a block away for a year, but going in 2 or 3 times a month has made me a regular and though we don't small talk alot, I get smiles and knowing nod when I get something other than their very good fajitas chicken. Great prices and good quality on short ribs, smoked pork chops, oxtails, skirt steak etc. I'm thrilled it's in the neighborhood.

I've been coming here since they opened, mainly for vegetables, but also for their green salsa, which is made in the store, and when I run out of staples and don't want to go to Ralph's or the absolutely pathetic Vons that's located about a half mile south on Centinela. Their produce prices are low, though at times some of it is not exactly fresh. When they first opened their produce looked like they got it from Ralph's dumpster but the overall quality has improved considerably since then. They have a staffed meat counter where one can buy all anyone would ever need to prepare an authentic Mexican meal.

The butcher ground ed rib steaks into burgers ....THE BEST !!!

I moved to the Mar Vista area last year and found it difficult to find good ground beef (I bought ground beef at a few of the nearby big chain stores, and it all seemed to spoil the next day). Finding the Mar Vista Ranch Market was a blessing. Not only do they have an excellent selection of meat (including the best ground beef in the area for less than $2/#), but they have a great selection of fruits and vegetables also at great prices (way under the big chain stores). They also stock a complete line of items for Mexican dishes. The people are friendly, and it's a quick in and out. It's on Venice Blvd. in the same parking lot as O'Reilly Auto Parts (just west of Centinela). I love this place!

it would be nice if they would clean up around the back of the place, always a trash nightmare never cleaned up, the dumpsters smell like dead animals. care about the place, the entire 3 blocks of Venice Blvd no one even cares about the trash anymore. no pride, just sad
