Food is five stars! Food hall space is brand new so better than most but it can get tight hence why one star off.
Service is oddly fast so definitely on par with the Hong Kong vibes.
Now on to the food: it's rare to find staff and owners speaking Hong Kong Cantonese in NYC. Their passion for bringing their favorite HK items to LIC is much appreciated. All fried items were amazing. Wings, fish fillet, pork katsu were all tender, marinated, juicy, and delicious. You won't be getting dried pork chops here!
Their macaroni is not elbow macaroni which I appreciate since it's not as overtly soft and holds onto more sauce/broth. The sauce and broth is a lot like HK borscht and mixed with the good beef and soft boiled egg, it's a new way of enjoying those HK flavors in a new form.
Milk tea was good and wasn't too bitter even though we asked for less sugar. Cannot wait to try it hot to see if it stands the test.
The pineapple bread sandwich was good and it was huge! I had a hard time taking a first bite since it was so high. But as a traditionalist I really wanted my pineapple bread with just some butter without the frills. But def worth the try if you never had it!
Can't wait to come back to try the HK toast and hot milk tea!
