Google
Marathon Hong Kong Diner has become my favorite spot in Long Island City for real Hong Kong–style comfort food. The crispy chicken cutlet and pork cutlet over rice are huge, flavorful, and honestly some of the best in NYC. Their tomato macaroni soup tastes exactly like a classic HK café, and the HK-style milk tea is rich, smooth, and perfectly pulled. Everything is made fresh, portions are generous, and the quality is consistent every time. I also love the bolo yau (pineapple bun with salted butter) and the French toast — both are must-tries. If you’re looking for authentic Hong Kong food in LIC, especially inside the neighborhood’s food hall, this place is unbeatable. Marathon HK Diner is bringing true cha chaan teng flavors to NYC, and it’s quickly becoming a local favorite. Highly recommend stopping by!

Wow, what a treat! The hot wings were perfectly crispy with a sauce that had just the right kick—spicy but not overwhelming, and so flavorful! The pumpkin pie was a dream, with a flaky crust and a creamy, perfectly spiced filling that screamed fall. Service was friendly, and the vibe was spot-on. Can’t wait to come back for more!

Google
The chicken cutlet over rice at Marathon Hong Kong Diner is incredible — super crispy, juicy, and full of Hong Kong–style flavor. One of the best chicken cutlets in Long Island City and perfect for a quick comfort meal. Fast service, great value, and always consistent. A must-try dish if you’re in LIC!

Google
Absolutely loved everything we ordered! The pineapple bun fish burger was next-level — crispy, flaky fish with a perfectly golden crust, all tucked inside that soft, slightly sweet bun. Such a unique and delicious combo! The beef over rice was equally impressive — tender, flavorful, and so comforting. The staff there are so helpful and nice too! You can tell everything is made with care.

Google
Finally a good value and delicious HK diner in LIC! The food came out hot and fast —The pork chop rice was a no-brainer classic, but the stir-fried beef spaghetti totally stole the show. Every bite had that irresistible wok hay aroma. Highly recommend this spot if you’re craving authentic Hong Kong comfort food! (Don’t forget to get the ice lemon tea!)

Google
One of my favorite restaurants in LIC. The food always comes fast and high quality. My favorite is their mashed potatoes, guilty but delicious! Occasionally there may be a wait, but I usually order ahead and pickup. I recommend dining there if you are getting the pork chop.

Google
Marathon HK Diner has become one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. 我是真的爱了! Their food ALWAYS hits — from the Pork Chop Rice to the HK-style French Toast. I’ve also been craving for their Bolo Bun Burger and Black Pepper Beef Spaghetti on a regular basis. The staff are always kind, and I’ve met the owners a few times — they remind me of family

Google
Wow, the portion sizes here are VERY impressive!!! The pork chop rice especially can feed two people, or be saved for multiple meals. The pineapple bun with fish is also so unique, and is perfect as an easy lunch meal. There’s a lot of Chinese food popping up in LIC, but after living in the area, I’m so glad to finally have Hong Kong-style cuisine. 🇭🇰Marathon is specifically HK diner type dishes, and feels like authentic, HK comfort food after a long day! Don’t sleep on the drinks either - I personally loved the red bean ice as someone sensitive to caffeine :)

Yelp
I love Hong Kong food and this is a great option to go to locally! The hk milk tea and bolo bao taste yummy

The service and food was really good!! I ordered the HK milk tea & bolo yau because there was a special

Yelp
We loved the food here. You can't go wrong with the French toast and cod fish! Visit soon if you haven't !

Yelp
Tasted great and the taste reminded me from food from Hong Kong! Love the logo and the style I had the black pepper beef spaghetti, fish bolo bun w/ fries and lemon tea

Yelp
Got the pork cutlet with black pepper sauce and the French toast. The portions are huge! My first bite of the pork cutlet was juicy, but I found that the pork dries out quickly. I wish they didn't cut the cutlet so thin so that each piece would be softer and juicier. I enjoyed the black pepper sauce, though the whole black peppercorns can be a bit overpowering when you bite into them. I really liked the French toast. The maple syrup with condensed milk was a bit sweet, but luckily the sauce was on the side. I love peanut butter so the nuttiness with the sweetness of the French toast was delicious. The toast also had a nice crisp on the outside, but soft and warm on the inside. I would definitely come back here to try their other dishes!

Yelp
Love to always try places that serve fried pork cutlet over rice with tomato sauce Hong Kong style. The version here is ok. Not the worse or the best. The tomato and beef over macaroni soup was ok. The fish sandwich with pineapple bread was good and I would get it again if in the neighborhood. Service was friendly and fast. Great if in a rush.

Yelp
First time at LIC Food Hall - browsed around but then went straight to Marathon, which is right by the entrance. I mainly wanted HK style milk tea and condensed milk toast so I ordered it to go. It's packaged in an insulating bag, kinda neat though I hope the ppl receiving them are actually reusing them. I would have ordered more food to stay but the food hall itself had limited seats upstairs. There is additional seating downstairs but it's not accessible for those in wheelchairs, strollers, or walking devices. No elevator in sight - Not the fault of this food stall, but something to consider when eating here. Service was probably quick but I had stepped out and got distracted. My order was all ready when I came back! The iced HK milk tea was delicious, sweet and strong. My toast was crispy, warm, peanutty, and delicious with the condensed milk brown sugar sauce. A tasty shareable snack, or you can eat it all to yourself.

Yelp
Grand opening day on 8/16. They have spin the wheel with any vendor purchase. Just show your digital receipt at the spin wheel desk where 2 nice young ladies are sitting. They have magnets too. The Marathon HK diner stall is one of the first you'll see as you walk into the LIC dining hall. There is a kiosk to order from or the cashier. There is a grand opening promo, but it is at the cashier only, not on the kiosk. I tried the HK macaroni in thick tomato soup base with beef and onsen (runny) egg. It was okay. Not what I'm used to with classic soup base. It tasted pretty good, especially the egg, but I prefer the usual regular soup base better. The HK tea was just okay also. Not strong enough. Taste more like regular black tea. The food hall has seatings and a bathroom downstairs. It's nice and clean. The seatings fill up fast, especially during prime eating time. Once you get your food, it is quick to eat, but might have to wait for a seat or share tables.

Yelp
Food is five stars! Food hall space is brand new so better than most but it can get tight hence why one star off. Service is oddly fast so definitely on par with the Hong Kong vibes. Now on to the food: it's rare to find staff and owners speaking Hong Kong Cantonese in NYC. Their passion for bringing their favorite HK items to LIC is much appreciated. All fried items were amazing. Wings, fish fillet, pork katsu were all tender, marinated, juicy, and delicious. You won't be getting dried pork chops here! Their macaroni is not elbow macaroni which I appreciate since it's not as overtly soft and holds onto more sauce/broth. The sauce and broth is a lot like HK borscht and mixed with the good beef and soft boiled egg, it's a new way of enjoying those HK flavors in a new form. Milk tea was good and wasn't too bitter even though we asked for less sugar. Cannot wait to try it hot to see if it stands the test. The pineapple bread sandwich was good and it was huge! I had a hard time taking a first bite since it was so high. But as a traditionalist I really wanted my pineapple bread with just some butter without the frills. But def worth the try if you never had it! Can't wait to come back to try the HK toast and hot milk tea!

Yelp
I tried my boyfriend's pork chop, and it was yum! The portions here are huge, and one of the best spots in the Long Island city food hall in my opinion.

Yelp
The service and food were great and fast considering it was dinner time. The atmosphere was cozy. The smells of each dish inviting you in to try. I Ordered the black pepper beef spaghetti and marathon crispy pork cutlet rice with Japanese curry sauce and cheese. The black pepper was the dominant seasoning in the noodles, balanced by a light note of sweetness that kept it from being overpowering. The noodles themselves were cooked to perfection. The pork cutlet was cooked to perfection, every bite melts in your mouth. The curry sauce made the rice very flavorful and a great contrast to the cheesy pork cutlet. It was addicting to say the least. All in all, the food was a great value for its price from the flavorful curry to the sweet rich noodles, definitely a must try.

Yelp
Came to grab a Hong Kong milk tea to go. Service was fast and efficient, either via kiosk or traditional ordering. The Hong Kong milk tea is not too sweet to begin with but I asked for less sugar which I ended regretting as I wanted some sweetness but I did love how strong the tea flavor is and it was a great pick-me-up after lunch.

Yelp
New food hall in LIC with many Asian options. The one that stood out the most was Marathon HK Diner with many classic Hong Kong Cha Chann Tang Dishes. We got the crispy pork cutlet and French toast. Looks so good!

The "Marathon Crispy Pork Cutlet Rice," and it was an absolute delight. The taste was far superior to its appearance, sauce was simply the cherry on top. It's undoubtedly worth every penny

Yelp
Nice Hong Kong option in LIC food hall Try the pineapple butter bun! Would recommend trying out

William C.

Yelp
Friendly place! I ordered the black pepper beef spaghetti. The flavor brings me back to the old school HK styled cooking, decent portion size and tastes great! Especially the Black pepper sauce, nice peppery flavor that covers the whole order with plenty of beef to boot! So far I'm digging it, I'll be coming back again!

Rr T.

Yelp
This review is solely for the HK milk tea. Both the iced and hot versions are not good. Their tea is just a little weird and not the correct one. Go to places in Chinatown for a better HK milk tea. This aint it. I was fine paying the +$2-$3 premium for a tiny cup coz it's LIC and in a trendy food hall but nope. No thanks.

Clara ..

Yelp
Five stars the food is amazing. Just opened nearby went on their soft opening must try!!
