Absolutely loved everything we ordered! The pineapple bun fish burger was next-level — crispy, flaky fish with a perfectly golden crust, all tucked inside that soft, slightly sweet bun. Such a unique and delicious combo! The beef over rice was equally impressive — tender, flavorful, and so comforting. The staff there are so helpful and nice too! You can tell everything is made with care. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

A taste of home away from home! Marathon’s second location is a fast-casual concept stall situated within a food hall in LIC. The menu is reasonably smaller than their Great Neck restaurant in Queens. The flagship baked tomato pork cutlet rice dish was freshly made with clean ingredients. The cutlet was perfectly crisp — Japanese style — covered with tomato sauce. I think the sauce portion can be a little bit more generous for mixing with rice, but perhaps the team didn’t want to make the cutlet batter to become all soggy! I also ordered the red bean iced drink and was exactly what I expected: a sweet and creamy drink to top off a hearty meal! I took a star off for the atmosphere because the venue was super crowded during weekends and can be chaotic trying to find a seat. But the folks at Marathon have made these really cute insulated bags with their own mascot design so you can easily take the food and eat it elsewhere in LIC. 💜💜 I heard good things about their toast so will definitely be back!!

Great place to get your Hong Kong Cha Caan Teng fix. Milk Tea was delicious and you can really taste the tea. Not too bitter and I asked for less sugar. They had a special item which was their chicken wings. I liked how they cut it in the middle so the marinade seeped in and cooked evenly. I would describe it as a Hong Kong/taiwanese style way of frying. Def delicious. Their tomato macaroni was definitely more of a surprise. From first look it was a great presentation with a soft boiled egg and beef on top. Sliced beef quality was good and not chewy like cheap hotpot beef. But when tasting the broth it took me back to my young self eating Hong Kong borscht with my grandpa. It’s definitely comforting in a very special way. Bolo bao sandwich has amazing presentation. The fish is battered well and the sauce is in pt. However I am a traditionalist so I do like mine with just a slide of butter without all the specials. Did want to greatly recommend the black pepper noodles and the pork katsu with black pepper sauce! It’s was sooo good that it disappeared before a picture was taken. The black pepper sauce is so good that you feel that warmth after you eat it. It’s not hot spicy but it has that pepper warm that is very nice. One of the best black pepper sauces or mixture one can find. Fried katsu was tender and soft and far from dry. You can even see tiny holes because of how they hammered/tenderized it. I do have to be transparent and take 1 star off because the food hall is tight. Good thing it is the first stall walking in!

Came by during their soft opening and was really impressed. The food tastes just like what you’d get in Hong Kong—super authentic and comforting. Loved the crispy pork cutlet with tomato sauce and cheese, the black pepper beef spaghetti, and the HK-style French toast. Iced lemon tea was super refreshing too. Excited to come back once they launch the full menu!

Marathon Hong Kong Diner is a gem! I tried the Bolo Bun Fish Burger and it did not disappoint. The fish was perfectly fried, the fries were crispy, and the sweet bolo bun paired beautifully with the savory sauce and fish, it was a great balance of flavors. Definitely a must-try! Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes!

So glad Marathon opened in LIC — it’s such a gem! The food is incredibly authentic, just like what you’d find in Hong Kong, and everything is super fresh and flavorful. The service is always kind and attentive, and the space feels welcoming whether you’re dining in or grabbing something to go. A much-needed addition to the neighborhood — can’t wait to keep coming back!

Yelp
Food is five stars! Food hall space is brand new so better than most but it can get tight hence why one star off. Service is oddly fast so definitely on par with the Hong Kong vibes. Now on to the food: it's rare to find staff and owners speaking Hong Kong Cantonese in NYC. Their passion for bringing their favorite HK items to LIC is much appreciated. All fried items were amazing. Wings, fish fillet, pork katsu were all tender, marinated, juicy, and delicious. You won't be getting dried pork chops here! Their macaroni is not elbow macaroni which I appreciate since it's not as overtly soft and holds onto more sauce/broth. The sauce and broth is a lot like HK borscht and mixed with the good beef and soft boiled egg, it's a new way of enjoying those HK flavors in a new form. Milk tea was good and wasn't too bitter even though we asked for less sugar. Cannot wait to try it hot to see if it stands the test. The pineapple bread sandwich was good and it was huge! I had a hard time taking a first bite since it was so high. But as a traditionalist I really wanted my pineapple bread with just some butter without the frills. But def worth the try if you never had it! Can't wait to come back to try the HK toast and hot milk tea!

Yelp
Marathon HK Diner has become one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. 我是真的爱了! Their food ALWAYS hits -- from the Pork Chop Rice to the HK-style French Toast. I've also been craving for their Bolo Bun Burger and Black Pepper Beef Spaghetti on a regular basis. The staff are always kind, and I've met the owners a few times -- they remind me of family! I am so glad that they are in LIC now.

Yelp
I expected it to be a random shop but the food there was amazing , the bolo yau was sweet and crunchy with a nice added salty touch by the butter, the food was served fast and the waiters were really nice
