"A Chicago fixture is closing its last pizzeria in the city. Marcello’s Father and Son Restaurant will close Sunday after 72 years of serving Logan Square, according to an employee. Known for its thin, tavern-style pies, plus standout chicken wings and ribs, the restaurant used decades-old family recipes passed from one generation to another." - Naomi Waxman

I had the antipasto salad since I usually ordered pizza I thought I would try something a little different today. I must say I was not overly impressed with the salad but my nephew had the skirt steak sandwich and he said it was very good

Pizza is good.nothing amazing .I think this place needs an update. I'm sure with alittle work this would once again become what it used to be afew years back.

Nice pizza. This, crispy crust, so it's fast as well. Parking lot for free parking. Friendly service. Large space inside.

One of the most pleasant experiences I've had in a while, the staff was friendly and attentive, the food was delish with large portions, been there 3 times and will always go back.

Used to go here quite often when I lived in the area. I hadn't been here in quite some time and was disappointed at how the place looks. The years have really taken their toll, and it's quite obvious that the owners don't care about this place anymore. That's too bad, because it used to be one of my favorite places. Now that I'm back in the area, was hoping it would continue to be one of my favorite spots. Not the case at all. The food is hardly edible. You can tell their ingredients are not fresh. One of my chicken wings was still cold on the inside, which tells me they are frozen :(. Their celery bent like rubber sticks....I mean really, celery is so inexpensive! Their prices compared to the quality are way off. I'm sad to say I will not be back!

Been going to this restaurant for over 30 years and love the food. However, we ordered 3 pizzas, sausage, margarita and a meat lovers and we were disappointed. The crust was delicious but they were all greasy and extremely salty and 4 of the 7 people suffer from blood pressure. We didn't say anything and regret it but I don't think we'll be back.

I've been coming to Father & Sons for over 35 years! Up until about 2015, it was my go-to place for pizza & chocolate cake, both for delivery & dine-in. The food was always good, hot & fresh, the prices were reasonable and service was always with a smile. Delivery was prompt & my order never wrong. But now, the staff are a bunch of gloomy, moody teenagers & young adults, who barely look at you when taking your order or serving you. They also wait until they're done with their non-business conversations w/ co-workers. The food is greasy & tastes as if it where sitting out the day before or old ingredients were used....and at triple the prices of what it once was. The deliveries started coming later & later. Now, it's to the point where they ceased delivery to my neighborhood because they closed down their Lincoln Park location (geez...wonder why!) and the reason given was - and I quote "we need to prioritize our delivery to that area." So basically what their staff was really saying was "the heck with our loyal clientele, we're gonna cater to the upscale hipsters...who are the VERY same folks that didn't patronize us in Lincoln Park in the FIRST place!!!" 😠 If not for the decadent & delicious chocolate mousse cake, this place would receive 1 star. What can I say...I'm overly generous, at times.

Yelp
I have not been to Father & Son Pizza in 10 years, but had their Pizza dozens of time in the 1960's, when they had a tiny little store @ Diversey & Whipple in Chicago. They moved to a large location on Milwaukee Ave in Logan Square, that's still there and the last time I was there, the pizza was as good as it ever was and it was great. I've been to the Northbrook location once and it's still the same great pizza. Now I'm in Florida and have to settle for mediocre to pretty good, but next time i'm in Chicago, you know where I'll go.

Yelp
I just tried them for the first time recently and I fell in love. I had the shrimp scampi flatbread, and it was excellent. There are many things that I plan to try on the menu. Highly recommended.

Yelp
If I could give Marcello's a negative star I would. I recently hired them to cater my wedding. My wedding was beautiful and amazing and the food was good, but the catering services were awful. In a nutshell, my guests did not receive the open bar, and the desserts that I paid for. I paid for five hours of open bar and they ran out of beer and water after three hours. This was a 90 degree day and they failed to have enough water when I had elderly guests in attendance. Additionally, they only brought 15 cases of beer for 150 people, which is 2.5 beers per person for a five hour open bar. If you do the math this clearly not enough. We asked them to get more beer and they just ignored our requests. Then by the end of night, they ran out of all alcohol except for red wine. My guests were asking me if we didn't pay for an open bar. I was so embarrassed. Also, I had two cakes one was served right away. The second cake was served ten minutes before our wedding was over and that was only after we asked three times for them to put the cake out. Also, I had a s'mores bar with hundreds of dollars of s'mores ingredients with an open fire pit. They did not bring the sticks that I provided to make the s'mores with. The whole wedding was run by a girl named, Christina, who was young and in-experienced and clearly did not know what she was doing. Michael Seymor told me he would be at my event, and he was not. When I complained, Michael Seymor blamed my guests for their incompetence. Although my wedding was beautiful, I feel my memories are tainted by these horrible catering errors. They did give us gift certificates and alcohol after I complained, but it cannot bring back the night and my guests' experience. Given this experience, I recommend not hiring Marcello's for any event.

Yelp
Marcello's food quality has been going down significantly from what it once was. Initially, I was attributing this to an off night here or there or a new cook, but this time, my pasta had been cooked in water so heavily salted that I could barely taste the sauce over the saltiness and ended up tossing it. I'm done.
