Exquisite service. I’d included in my booking that I was expecting and that husband and I would be celebrating. The team was extremely kind, they had already a non-alcoholic cocktail menu arranged. They asked if there was anything I would not eat. They even brought me a cushion as they saw I was slightly uncomfortable. The corner table gave us a view of the whole restaurant. Related to the food. My husband got the 7 course menu and I went alacarte. From the ala carte menu starter the quail. It was ok the meat, but the sauce was great. And the onion tartlet that was together it was magnificent. I just eat onions in onion soup and this was amazing. The flavour was incredible. We considered the best flavour of the night. My main was the john dorry fish. I got surprised with the presentation. Pieces of the fish more fried, other in tempura. It was divine and very well served portion. The sauce was delicious. For the 7 course menu, my husband was more keen to the 3 sea food courses. The cod fish with fish eggs had a very unique flavour. The meat for him was ok. Even if he thought the veal was nicely prepared. The desserts the bergamot mousse was the winner in flavour. Just one point we realised that the flavours were really strong in garlic. Half of the meal had some garlic strong presence. I loved the lemon pie petit four. And the passion fruit celebration small treat was very nice. I can’t forget to mention the 3 canapés that started the dinner. One was a cheesebread. Unbelievable good. As a Brazilian the restaurant had won me there. My only negative point of the night it is that Marcus was not there, and we are big fans of him. I would really loved to have a photo with him.

We booked this way in advance as it's closing in Dec 2023. Loved every minute of this culinary experience. Exquisite food, awesome service and a real treat! I even got a chef apron to take home :) I had the roasted qual to start, followed by Galloway beef fillet. Jo had the crab and the turbot.

Went for a lunch at Marcus last weekend and it was a great experience! I chose the 3 course lunch menu and I can’t believe the total price of this meal was 65£ for a Michelin starred restaurant (no drinks and service included). Service was great, even though I was dining alone the whole experience and food was amazing so I was not bored. The canapés at the beginning were a nice detail. Bread basket was incredible (specially the dark one, forgot what was it but it tasted sweet like chocolate). I went with the salmon for the first course which was ok, not my fav course as it was not very impressive. But the pork was sooo nice and tender!!! Specially the braised cheek which was so soft and yummy. The dessert was also superb, had a similar taste to tiramisu because of the coffee. Thank you for the whole experience, such a shame this beautiful place is closing (hopping to hear the next plans soon!)

Definitely a special experience! As many others, we came to know/follow Marcus (and Craig) from Master Chef, so we finally booked to experience his offering of fine dining. It was a high class experience, we were pampered from all the staff, even got a chance to have a quick tour of the kitchen! This dinner was a celebration for us and we were presented with two extra mini-bites to mark the occasion. We went with the 7-course tasting menu and we enjoyed every bit of it. Some dishes were better than others (loved the scallop, the cod, the cauliflower, the venison and the desserts, not super keen for the chicken ballotine, really liked the trout but wasn't able to fully enjoy all elements without a spoon), and overall we were very happy we were able to enjoy this experience. It is not mentioned anywhere (as far as I was able to check), but there is an included service charge of 13.5% or so, which is fine as the service was absolutely fantastic, but some people might find the non-discretionary or negotiable option not ideal, especially given that the bill can rise to very high values with wine. There was also a small added donation (£1) for a relevant charity that we were asked if we wanted to opt in or out. I found this funny, as when the total bill is well in the tripple digits, £1 is definitely not a problem to add. Definitely happy I got to enjoy this experience, looking forward to what the future brings for Marcus and the team!

A great fine dining experience at the Marcus Restaurant in the Berkeley hotel, which I visited as a treat. Have been a fan of Marcus for sometime since watching Masterchef (since some years) so tasting his menu was a fantastic experience. I went for the 7-course tasting menu (details with photos) and an accompanying wine. The attention to detail, depth/variety of flavours, and service were incredible, which was of no surprise! All dishes worked incredibly well and my favourite was the not-so-humble Roasted Cauliflower! The salsa gave a great earthy flavour that complimented the roasted and crisp cauliflower. That said not everything was perfect. I was surprised the Chicken Ballotine was dry and the celebratory/complementary dessert had a stale chocolate tuile! Would have been better not to serve that at all! I was also very surprised to see a non-discretionary 13.5% service charge (amounting to over £55), which I didn’t expect and is worth knowing (or more transparency to make this clear). Overall, it was a pleasure to have experienced the evening at the Marcus Restaurant! Thanks also for to kitchen tour!

A 1 star Michelin restaurant. We came here for pre Christmas dinner in December and had a great night. Had five course tasting menu. They were all good. Had a glass of champagne (on the house) and amuse-bouche offered. Attentive and polite waiter/waitress.

Love the place very much! Very well execution on every dishes in the grand courses with wine and drinks pairing, a must to visit before they are closed down on Dec 26, 2023 and will start a new concept in Feb-2024!... can't wait to see the next new execution from this chef team,...
