This place looks very enticing look from the outside. They have few tables and a have a good selections of French pastries. I tried their pistachio with ricotta cake with coffee. Priced right but the taste is kinda disappointing. It was too sweet! The lady that was helping me was not very engaging and needs to work on her customer service skills. The decor gives the place a nice ambience. This is just an update: I visited this cafe again and tried their cinnamon twist. I was surprised how delicious it was! I have been in search for the best tasting cinnamon twist in Manhattan and this place sells it! Happy eating and be well everyone♥️

Very nice and small place just around the main entres to Ansonia. Very well decorated and very nice, actually. But coffee is always cold and almond croissant for $4.5 just a wet, moisture pastry falling apart in hands. Probably, the worst almond croissant in the whole City.

I'm not a fan of bread, but cannot resist Margot's baguette sandwiches. She makes a scrumptious chicken puff pie. The eclairs, Napoleon, and coconut macaroons are some of my favorites. Service is always quick and with a smile.

This French bakery is everything! One of the last remnants of the REAL Upper West Side, this cafe is cleverly tucked on a side entrance of 74th Street in the famous/infamous Ansonia building. I come here almost exclusively for the coconut croissant — although the almond is noteworthy. A perfect place for everything from coffee talk to a light lunch. Seating is tight so prepare for that — but off hours it can harken back to gay old París! Also great for a light bite, the salads are ample and the sandwiches (all served on a fresh baguette) are divine. I ordered my thanksgiving pies here one year to great acclaim.

The atmosphere is a small French-style pastry shop with a number of tasty-looking pastries and desserts. I got the cheese Danish and a coffee to go. Both of which were great. I kind of wish I had gotten a dessert, but I know I'll be back.

Very sad to learn they’re closing. A real loss for our neighborhood. Have been a customer for years, and so grateful to Margot, the bakers and staff for staying open through the pandemic. Will miss their wonderful cheese danishes, croissants and tuna baguettes. But most of all will miss the warm, friendly staff who made coming here such a joy. Wishing them all well in whatever is next for them.

I used to love this place. I'm here now and the attitude of management is atrocious. We are sitting here ordering lunch, which is a minimum 15 per person to sit. My elderly mom needed to use the bathroom. The waiter said they are not required to have bathrooms available. I asked to speak to the manager and the waiter said no. After years coming here, this is my last visit. UPDATE: I just read your reply and that is incorrect. He said that you are not required to have a restroom because it is a small restaurant. He said she could go across the street, around the corner, to the second floor of Fairway. I had already ordered our food. If you do not have a working bathroom you should have a sign and tell people coming in. If I were alone, i would not have minded, but with my elderly mother I would have not taken a table and went elsewhere.

After trying unsuccessfully to order a cake with Almondine, I found this place. There was a decent selection of cakes and possibilities, and ordering was easy. Instructions are clear, and you’re kept aware of how the order’s progressing. This place was also much easier to get to than Almondine. I’d ordered the chocolate raspberry cake after sone weighing and balancing, and I’m glad I did. It was incredibly delicious! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s a very thick cake, so slices are extra fun to dive into. Though it’s very chocolaty, the raspberry cuts through nicely. Though the cake’s mirror glaze wasn’t shiny, and the writing on the cake was a bit haphazard, it’s all forgiven after the first sinful bite.
