Nestled in Bushwick, this vibrant park named after anti-drug crusader Maria Hernandez boasts shady benches, a playground, and courts for basketball and more.
"We can't help but think of Maria Hernandez Park's namesake when visiting this lovely green space. Maria Hernandez was a community leader who gave her life to fight the area's drug dealers. There's a complex history in Bushwick that we're still in the midst of, and this place reminds us of the fight to keep our community safe and fair for all. The diversity of park-goers is what we most enjoy — from families picnicking and napping in the grass, elderly folks gossiping on shady benches, kids balling on the courts, skaters doing tricks in the center, pups frolicking in the dog run, there's something for everyone." - WSDIA | WeShouldDoItAll
