An Arlington essential for mesquite-grilled fajitas and margarita history, recognized by Dallas Observer near AT&T Stadium. The local brand traces its frozen-margarita origin story to founder Mariano Martinez, and this lively outpost still delivers the classic Tex‑Mex experience.

Google
The fajitas were absolutely amazing! Definitely the best I have had in a long time. Definitely on the high price but worth it. The salsa is absolutely amazing! Also the fresh chips and the extremely flavorful spicy salsa is definitely worth checking out!

It was a first time visit for me and I really enjoyed it. The food was really good. I got the sour cream enchiladas and they were soooo good. The chips and dip they give is an added addition that I enjoyed as well. The server was attentive and very nice. The only issue I had was the napkin and silverware was dirty. And there was a bone in the chicken which I can definitely overlook, but not dirty forks and napkins.

Google
I got a strawberry mango margarita. Husband got the Amber z with tajin. Excellent. Though, I think his was better! But go! Food was wonderful. Service was great. Everyone was friendly and it was a pretty nice place. Food was hot and flavorful! Busy. A definite go to!

Google
This place is a 5 star all across. Came here for the first time, ha been wanting to come but the location is not the most convenient. Regardless, no regrets. I came on a Friday night, and felt welcomed. They were busy and vibing 👌 Had to sit at their patio because the weather here in Texas is finally cooling off. Their chips and salsa were delicious 😋… they do offer an option for a spicier salsa that’s $3.00 was not happy about that but couldn’t leave without trying it. It was okay., I did love the chunky es of it and the smoky flavor but it definitely needed some me garlic and salt in my opinion. I ended up taking it home and adding those two ingredients and perfection 😋 I had one of the mixed plates with an Enchilada, a crispy taco 🌮, rice and beans 🫘 🍚 and their frozen swirl. I really enjoyed my time there, my server was amazing and answered all my questions. They do have 4-6 Happy Hour and special price drinks on Wednesday and Thursday for their swirl Parking was crowded but accessible and it is family friendly despite of the shady area it’s located at since there is a strip club across from it. I definitely recommend this restaurant and will be back myself.

Google
Great food—both the chicken and beef fajitas were delicious, and the homemade corn tortillas were so good! Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. Our waiter got caught up with another table and never came back.

Google
First time visit heading to a Dallas Cowboys game. Parking was easy, located this place based on Google reviews. The place seems somewhat busy at 2:00 p.m. on a Saturday, but service was quick and friendly. Drink order and chips and salsa or served promptly. Had the brisket tacos with dipping juice and the loaded queso and everything was delicious. Mariano's is famous for inviting the frozen margarita machine and the margarita was on point. Atmosphere and decor was kind of old style restaurant which I actually enjoyed a lot. Will definitely be back here when in Arlington Texas again.

Google
From the outside, the restaurant looks homey and upscale, and the inside continues with that assumption. A gorgeous, authentic looking interior. Staff are friendly and attentive, and were more than happy to provide me with a takeaway container and plastic cutlery for me to take food back to my hotel. The food itself is authentic and good, not, “knock your socks off”, but certainly acceptable for this restaurant. I will certainly come back and tell friends and family about this place.

Google
As advertised this is a great place to stop to get your Mexican flavor of foods. With a wonderful atmosphere when you walk in and plenty of seating. The menu is pretty straightforward and very easy to read. Don’t worry about the portion size it’s plenty! The food flavors and excellent!!! Make sure to stop and add this place to your destination if you like Mexican food. Well worth it!!!

Yelp
Mariano's remains as the premier TexMex restaurant in DFW. From the food and beverage quality to the entire server staff to the general manager, this business continues in excellence. I have personally watched the manager (Richardo) assure the rest room was clean and orderly, the lead bartender (Don Juan) assure others table were cleaned, and our server (Fillipe) is always the best. Above and beyond should be their mantra! My wife and I have been happily served since early 2010 and will continue until the good Lord takes me away!

Yelp
The food was AMAZING!! The staff Fabulous!! Fantastic service with a smile. Highly recommend this family restaurant since the 70's. Try a Margarita from the margarita machine. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Home of the original frozen Margarita machine! From the margarita menu to the colorful lights to the house-made queso, Mariano's is about as classic Tex-Mex as it gets. Big comfy booths, table-side guacamole, custom designed log-fired grills which make for the best fire-roasted salsa, fajitas, and seafood... it's just the best! Mariano's is perfect for any casual meal, but it's also a super festive and fun environment for occasions. Plus it's big if you need to fit a large party. On my last visit my group shared a bunch of stuff and it was all yum. Chips and salsa and queso, bean and cheese nachos, brisket tacos, Spanish style enchiladas, and the Texas "surf & turf" (sizzling steak fajitas + bacon-wrapped shrimp). Everything was served quickly and piping hot. The service here is great, it really feels like everyone knows exactly what they're doing.

Yelp
Can you believe I went two days in a row? That should tell you everything you need to know! The first night, I ordered the Burrito a la Plancha and practically inhaled it. I wouldn't necessarily call it authentic Mexican--but honestly, who cares when it tastes that good? The second night I went for the Tex-Mex Flautas, and those were just as delicious. But the real star of the show? The margaritas. Both nights, they were hands-down some of the best I've had. Perfectly balanced, strong enough, and so refreshing. Needless to say, this place has officially earned a spot on my regular rotation. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
With so many new Mexican restaurants that spring up- gourmet, Tex mex, taco stands, birria tacos, street taco stands, giant burritos, etc. Don't sleep on the old "tried and true" Mariano's!! They never disappoint! No one else can say that their margarita machine is in the Smithsonian Museum! Often duplicated, never replicated. Always delicious!!

Yelp
What awesome little place home alone the world expression margarita machine, and excellent food

Yelp
We used to be regulars at Marianos for a couple decades. Loved every aspect from service, dinner, happy hour, available veggies & bar. Who couldn't especially appreciate the inventor of the frozen margarita machine! Our family Slowly quit going with the decline. We celebrated so many significant milestones there over several decades. It's honestly sad for us. There seemed to be plenty of staff visible yet service was extremely slow. I initially was thinking maybe just kitchen short that day but we had to prompt our waiter a couple of times after being patient. They need a weekend or even lunch menu. Brunch menu could be amazing. I got the brisket quesadillas. They were very greasy but the brisket had good flavor. Chips, salsa & queso were great. We were celebrating a birthday. Waiter said they can't do anything for birthdays. Was sad as it has been such a significant and great memory for us over the years. I can understand, post covid, no typical sombrero but what does a song cost? There are other very cheap alternatives to celebrate significant times and make your business stand out. They continue to increasingly miss the mark which is very sad to see. Praying ownership could make Mariano's great again. U til then, we are done continuing to try with them.

Yelp
Is very Hispanic touch like Spanish touch , I loved it My friends and me enjoyed a fun time

Yelp
We were this way to get an oil change nearby and it had good reviews. Pretty large place inside. Lots of seating. It was breakfast so i got Coffee and breakfast tacos and they were so good! Our server was very attentive and took good care of us. Only issue i see is it's not closer to home. Worth traveling back to for sure.

Yelp
This review is for 7/30/25. My friend sent me a video from TT and whew! This place is extremely authentic which I appreciate with a Mexican food spot. We both ordered the spicy chine verde and the flavors in that entree were immaculate. I see why America is fat! The portions are grand, the chicken was seasoned, the rice alone was so good, and my friend and I both were satisfied. I ordered a side of queso to take to go and orders the mango margarita (iced) that was also delicious. They added a nice slice of fresh mango on top. I'll certainly be back ! Entire experience 10 out of 10

Yelp
I come to Dallas a few times a year to visit family and this is my go-to place for Tex Mex. They are large, so they can more easily accommodate you. I never have to wait. The margaritas are good and strong. The fajitas with steak and shrimp are my favorite go-to. Be sure to ask for some garlic butter.

Yelp
Food is always good here. Causal atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. The hot apple pie is to die for.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my food here when we visited after church with my husband and son...my son and husband did not feel the same. I had the Adelita which was absolutely delicious including the beans and rice. That may seem silly to talk about the beans and rice, but that's a staple for a Mexican dish that not all restaurants get right. My son and husband both had dishes with the Asada, so maybe that was the problem since they mentioned it was underseasoned. My only suggestion is that every Mexican restaurant should have an option for street tacos or some form of that at a reasonable price...not $18. Other than that, it was a great atmosphere and good service.

Yelp
Unfortunately I arrived FAMISHED which means I didn't take any pictures (so disappointed in myself). Now for the good part! This place was DELISH! It exceeded my expectations. My family and I were in town for the Paul/Tyson fight and decided on Mexican for lunch. Recommendation: get the queso! My picky son usually doesn't eat queso. Even he enjoyed it! I had the Carlos and Charlie's. The jumbo shrimp were fresh and the bacon was fried to perfection. The ranchero bean soup was chefs kiss!! Don't worry about the jalapeño. It wasn't spice. My husband had fish tacos. My son had a chicken and shrimp quesadilla.10 out of 10! Our waitress was attentive. The service was great. Even the water was good (if you know you know)! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Loved our experience! We just wanted to have drinks and appetizers and this place hit the spot. We ordered the Mariano margarita and it is exactly what we wanted. It is on the pricey side but it's worth it. It's not a weak drink at all and it tastes amazing. Also ordered the table side guac which was great. We ordered the nachos with steak which were a great add to the guac. To us the highlight although some may find small but to us put the cherry on top, the Serrano molcajete salsa. It perfectly spicy and just adds exactly what we needed to the meal. Will definitely be back

Yelp
My brother, dad and I were in town for a weekend (mainly to watch the Dallas Cowboys on sunday as my dad is a diehard fan). We hopped on Google reviews and Yelp and saw that this place was HIGHLY rated with 500+ aggregate reviews on BOTH platforms so we had to check it out. We hadn't made reservations beforehand so we were slightly concerned that it would be a long wait (arrived around 8pm-ish). Luckily, this particular location is pretty big and the wait wasn't too long at all. Maybe like 10-15 min? We were seated in a booth and looking over the menu, the mexican food looked super authentic. We ordered carne asada, flautas, a grilled steak fajita salad and brisket tacos. Literally 2 minutes after ordering, fresh warm nachos arrived at the table w/ 2 salsas (a red and brown one). I love that we were able to snack on these before the food arrived. The carne asada was probably my fave. The proteins at this resto are cooked really well. We were never asked how we wanted our steak cooked but it just arrived medium rare on the plate (which is perfect). Super juicy, tender and seasoned aggressively. The refried beans were so smooth and the portion sizes were nice and big. We also ordered some of their famous frozen margaritas. Quite strong but very tasty! At the end of our meal we asked our server Ashley to pack our leftover nachos and salsas on the table in a to-go bag for us and she instead came back with a to-go bag full of FRESH, WARM NACHOS with some new salsas for us to take home. This was incredible customer service. The to-go bag also had a clip on it to keep the nachos crispy and prevent them from going stale (I was still snacking on them in the hotel room 2 days later)! All of us were eyeing the hot apple pie w/ ice cream that arrived at a neighbouring table but alas, we were way too full to stomach any dessert lol. Authentic food, amazing service and nice, strong drinks. A place that lives up to every bit of the hype! Will definitely be back in the future if I'm back in town!

Yelp
This place is always good! Margaritas were on point. We opted for guac and quesadillas!! Couldn't have been better! Service was spectacular! Check these guys out for lunch or dinner if you are in the area!

Yelp
We were over in the area and found ourselves starving on New Years Day. Found this place on Yelp and they were open...YAY! We have never been here before and Mexican food sounded good, so we gave it a whirl. We were seated immediately in the back bar area. It didn't appear to be very busy, but I think the restaurant is much bigger than it looks from the outside. I ordered the Adelita which comes with a good mix of items including an enchilada, flauta, rice & beans, guac and queso. All the best things on one plate! My hubby ordered the combo fajitas. Everything was SO good! The queso was very flavorful and the guac was seasoned perfectly. The enchilada had good filling and the flauta was crispy. The fajitas came with lots of fresh tortillas and they alone were very good. There was a good mix of meat and grilled peppers/onions. Oh, and the chips and salsa were also delish! The salsa was spicy, but I couldn't quit eating it! I will say, the service was very slow. We waiting a bit longer than we would have liked for refills, to go boxes, the check, ect. However, it seemed like our server was the only one working that area, and who knows how many other tables in the main dining area. He was also sweeping the floor....while 2 bartenders stood behind the bar. So I am not holding the slow service against him, because he was working his butt off. But the other 2 workers should be ashamed of themselves just watching him do all the work. I wish I remembered his name, he needs a raise!

Yelp
I had a great experience here. Service was great & the food was really good. highly recommend. It is a bit pricey though... We stopped in at Mariano's around noon on a Friday. It wasn't super busy, and we got seated and served right away. The food was pretty delicious. The margarita was a bit strong, but the adelita platter was very good. The chicken was nice and juicy even inside the enchilada and the beans were good. My only complaint is the price. It was a bit expensive, especially if you get a margarita... Ambiance was very nice. Charming interior that felt homey. Booths were nice and comfortable, big tables. Overall, I'd go back here again. Food was great and service was very good

Yelp
I enjoyed this place. We were looking for an option that wasn't too far but also able to accommodate the cravings of everyone, so we agreed on this place. There was about a 15-20 minute wait but it wasn't so bad. It was pretty crowded but the service once seated was quick and well. We decided to get the fajita platter for 4 and it was soooo much food. We were all hungry and my table if 4 had 2 very stuffed tacos each and had plenty food left over. It was very flavorful. The chips and the red salsa were sooooo good, we weren't really a fan of the darker salsa. Service was great, nice ambience as well. I'd visit again if ever in the area.
google avatar

LaTaya M.

Yelp
This place just did not do it for me. The chips and salsa were good and the nachos, pictured were good; that is all. I ordered a burrito and my husband ordered chicken quesadillas both were very bland. While the burrito had quite a bit of meat there was zero flavor. Even the quac was bland. The rice was also very tasteless with huge pieces of green peppers which did nothing to assist in the flavor. We went during happy hour and their only drink special took the margarita from $12 to $10. The service was fast but abrupt and the ambiance was ok though the napkin wrapping the silverware was stained with grease. I will not be returning.
google avatar

Rick B.

Yelp
We eat a lot of Tex-Mex, and the restaurants are generalky about the same. Service is often great, as it is here. But this place stands out for 2 reasons; the food is excelkent - from the yellow Queso Mariano, to the Chicken Enchiladas, and the kitchen is FAST. We ate during the Saturday eve rush, and our food came out pronto!! The signature frozen margaritas were good - as befitted the originators, and we loved it all. Well done!!

Sam R.

Yelp
Food is always incredibly wonderful. Staff are friendly and eager to serve. The warm salsa is soooo good.
google avatar

Josh D.

Yelp
The food was delicious! Salsas were wonderful. Green Chilies enchiladas were full of flavor. Server was attentive and brought me a great michelada. Music was not too loud, but was fun. I am definitely going back.
google avatar

Ava R.

Yelp
A friend and I had dinner here after an event. I was a bit nervous because the restaurant was fairly empty. We were immediately seated and drink orders were taken. I ordered a mango strawberry margarita and combination fajita nachos. Our server checked in with us frequently and the drink and nachos were both tasty.
google avatar

Casey S.

Yelp
Very good hand shaken margs. Queso is ok, brisket tacos were amazing. Environment and service great. Beautiful restaurant. Not traditional Mexican but great Tex Mex

Alejandro E.

Yelp
Good service, nice ambiance. Ordered the steak fajitas and the queso. Always heard people rave about it, but I don't recall if it was over the food or the drinks. Queso was just queso, simply ok. Steak fajitas you get what you pay for, big cuts of steak my only complaint is the flour tortillas that you're having your fajitas with 3.5/5
google avatar

Skye M.

Yelp
mariano's has always been a treat! our food was absolutely delicious. my partner and i split the carne asada meal and we ordered tortillas on the side to make it a fajita taco. we had a variety of margaritas which all tasted amazing and got us feeling good! the salsa is the perfect amount of spicy, it's my favorite! our server could have checked on us a little more towards the end of our meal, but service was good and polite. definitely a nice date night or family outing.
google avatar

Jina N.

Yelp
This is one of my sisters' favorite tex mex spots! They were very busy. It was my first time trying Mexican food in Texas. I usually do food trucks for street tacos and burrito, but since it was my birthday, I want to try a Tex-Mex food style. The hostess was very nice and asked if we had been here before to make sure we knew what they were serving on the menu or the specials before we get sat down. Inside was nicely decorated with the Mexican culture arts decor. The music was very nice!! Our server was a sweet guy!! He was helpful in explaining the food and substituting some items for us. My sister ordered a lot of variety entrees, and we all share with 5 people. Their chips and salsas were nice. I like the spicer salsa dip. It tingles your tongue, and then the after taste is like wow. I try the surf and turf dish. The bacon wrap shrimp was super good, and the steak was tender but a bit salty. The Birria brisket tacos were delicious. I also like the chicken torpedo appetizer. It was very crunchy and perfect seasoning. Overall, the food is amazing. If you are in Arlington, should come and give them a try.
google avatar

Amber E.

Yelp
The food was GREAT! The staff was personable and welcoming. This spot exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to go back.
google avatar

JB B.

Yelp
Food was decent americanized Mexican....got the fajita....flavors were good....chicken was dry and overcooked....was huge but, 80% was onions,,,,the rest was chicken and pepper....rice was fine.,,,really good warm salsa...very good queso...I'd probably go back
google avatar

Winfred S.

Yelp
We wanted to go after we saw this restaurant featured on the Day Tripper. Apparently, the owner was the original inventor of the Frozen Margarita. They have expanded but this is the original location. We started with The Frozen Margarita. It was delicious. For starters, we had the Queso Mariano. The ground beef, guacamole, and soar cream were a great addition. We had The Fajitas and the portions were generous. We took the left overs home. The atmosphere is very quaint and historic. The old stained glass is beautiful. The service by Elvis was spot on. The food was delicious. It is tucked away in old part of Arlington that seems to be dying down. But, this place is a little touristy but definitely worth it. We will go back again.
google avatar

Angela B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, very relaxing. Drinks...ok, but food was sooooo good and large portions
google avatar

Karson S.

Yelp
The place where the frozen margarita was invented, so they claim! Their rocks marg was just okay, but their frozen margarita was very good!! Our server was so very nice, and kept our drinks full. Their salsas are so good (one traditional and one warm). Their queso was pretty big (we got the one that was just melted yellow cheese). We also had the enchiladas which were very tasty! We went after a cowboys game and somehow they weren't super busy until we were about done with our meal. A great stop after a game!
google avatar

Melissa W.

Yelp
My husband and I ate here on a Wednesday evening and it was packed! We knew walking up to the restaurant that it was going to be good - the smells coming out from the inside were sooo good! We were seated promptly and our server was very efficient and got our drinks and chips, salsa, & queso out quickly. They were very good! We ordered combo fajitas for 1 and shared. These also came out fast and were sizzling and delicious! We had leftovers for the next day - equally as good then too! The only bad thing was that it was so loud inside, it was difficult to have a conversation. But we will definitely be back!
google avatar

Tara H.

Yelp
Beautiful building and ambiance. Sad that patio not open tonight. Had the steak fajitas which were pretty tender and flavorful. Reminded me of pappasitos but not quite as good as pappasitos. Wasn't quite as tender moist and flavorful. Dessert menu disappointing with only apple pie as an option
google avatar

Matthew M.

Yelp
We love this place! Food is great, salsa is great. We drove here an hour and a half to eat here for my wife's b-day. We will always go here if we are close.
google avatar

Karley E.

Yelp
Delicious food!!! Good customer service! 10/10! Out of towner. Stopped in for a business luncheon.

Yelp
Great local place. The atmosphere was fun and inviting. The food was very tasty and the presentation was a feast for the eyes too. Hannah was a great waitress and explained everything and was very attentive. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Yerri Z.

Yelp
I came from Florida for work reasons with my wife and I found this place and wanted to try the restaurant. Our waiter, Carlos, was friendly and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions about the menu and offered me a strong but balanced margarita(Marianos). We shared a delicious chicken verde. Carlos was an excellent waiter, and the margaritas were 10/10. We'll definitely return.

Yelp
My husband and I were looking for a good place to eat the day after the Tyson fight and found this gem. OMG this was the best food we've had in a long time! Service was amazing! I forget our waitresses's name but she made great recommendations and danced to the music. I usually can't finish my meal and I ate all three of my brisket tacos. My husband was so impressed with his cheese enchiladas that he wants to fly back to Arlington (from NYC) just to eat here!

Whispy D.

Yelp
Food was great especially the hot sauce! I had the brisket tacos with grilled vegetables, which was very good. Server was attentive. My only problem was it was very loud.

Rick A.

Yelp
We reserved some tables for our group of 15, Ricardo and his team accommodated us even when we showed up early. Alexa was super helpful and attentive, Ricardo & Alexandria constantly made sure our group was taken care of, the food was amazing! I hosted this dinner for my company with people coming from London (England), North Carolina, Georgia, Canada, and Idaho. They all loved the food, service, and ambience! We will definitely be returning here! Thank you so much for making a great impression for my guests!

Rob A.

Yelp
This is some of the worse service I have had in a long time chips and salsa took 15 minutes waitress is almost none existent. Food arrived 20 minutes after ordering and I had to ask for silverware and a napkin.
google avatar

Mark F.

Yelp
Go ahead and order whatever you like, it's all excellent. But also get a crunchy taco on the side!! Always busy but you won't know it because the staff is well trained and organized.

tanya h.

Yelp
BEST BRISKET EVER. WILL BE BACK!! We ordered Brisket Tacos and they were absolutely delicious.
google avatar

Samuel H.

Yelp
Went here after not being able to make my mind up and a stomach growling at me with every scroll. Luckily, I was fortunate to find this restaurant. I ordered Fajitas as it's my go to when i'm at a Mexican restaurant and my goodness it had to have been one of the best experiences trying out a new restaurant.
google avatar

Jose O.

Yelp
In full disclosure, I'm partial to small businesses when I dine out. I also was raised on Sonora and Baja Mexico cuisine. The restaurant was pretty nice, the cuisine Tex-Mex and our service was excellent. I was in a group of 5 relatives for a nice late lunch on a Sunday afternoon, and it was satisfactory. I ordered Chicken Enchiladas with tomatillo/sour cream sauce. I expected a compound sauce, but I received a dollop of sour cream with a splash of the green sauce. The enchiladas were good and the "sauce" was as good as the preparation. I finished the meal , but was left wondering about the greatness of Tex-Mex. My end was f the tab was a reasonable $25. Really, the main upshot was the restaurant was nice, the service was excellent, a decent value, and the cuisine is Tex-Mex. Mexican cuisine taste is subjective. I wouldn't choose this restaurant again, but i wouldn't resist returning with my family again. Outstanding cuisine doesn't seem to be the goal at this restaurant. But it's an excellent atmosphere with very good service.

Yelp
Old school feeling Mexican restaurant. Our server, Hannah, was really great and our food came quickly Additionally, we never wanted for drink refills or more chips and salsa as she was always on it. The food was good. Nothing that blew us away, but we enjoyed it. Queso Mariano sounded better that it really was and we liked it better with the thin table chips offered as opposed to the thick cut ones that come with the queso. Nothing special, but this place is worth your time.
