Being from Chicago, I went into here with very low expectations. I was really craving some pizza.. I’m not gonna lie I may have been a Hangey when I walked in. But from my first interaction with my waitress to getting the bill and walking out the door, I couldn’t have gone any better and the food couldn’t have been any better. I see the pizza was actually pretty good. I got a cheese and sausage. The only thing that I would ask for next time is a little more sausage. But I’m sure it’s perfect for some people when they ask you if you want bread in the beginning, say yes it is fantastic.. And she brings you a little plate of olive oil and seasonings for the bread very very good. And then I got the Capeesh It was decent. It was good flavored more than enough. And then the pizza came out and again. I have to admit it was pretty good.. So thank you everyone that works there. My only suggestion is maybe you put Miller light bottles on the menu. . 😂😆

I have eaten from this place several times, and they seem to be very consistent. My brother loves this place, so I started to pay attention to what they are doing right. It is consistently good. The 4.00 bone-in wing upcharge is a little weird, but the food is really good otherwise. Even the side salad is fresh. I usually pick it up for my brother, but this last time a delivery driver came, he was a little rattled for some reason, but the food was still hot and fresh. I recommend this restaurant and I can't wait to eat inside and enjoy the food. Two thumbs up from me.

Google
In Cape Coral for a visit and I was taken to Maria’s and I was so pleased. I ordered Chicken Parm w/Angel Hair and it was amazing. The portions at Maria’s and simply enormous and I had a full lunch the next day! Our wait-person was excellent and she kept our glasses full👌 Great, great experience at Maria’s and I will be back for my next visit to Cape Coral!

Google
I’m not an i’m not a big fan of Italian restaurants, but after reading the reviews, I was really excited to come here, but I was quickly disappointed. It took us a while to be acknowledged, and to sit down, but other than that the service was pretty good. Our server was really nice and attentive. The ambience was all right, but what brought the stars down for me is that the food was so bad. Everything was like warm. The mozzarella sticks were all right, but what gets me is the plating of this, I just think it’s so weird(pictured). The soups were bland, and they both didn’t get finished. The best thing we ordered was the caprese salad, The tomatoes were hilariously large, but it was good. I got the Giovanni’s veal and not to be that person but it’s one of the most expensive things on the menu and it was not very good. I had to add all of these things to it to make it good. Mine was salvageable but for the margarita pizza absolutely not, i mean look at it. It was so soggy and flimsy. I took a picture of the bottom of the plate and you can see the oil or water whatever it was at the bottom. Overall, 2 stars.

Google
I have ate there now 4 times never had a bad meal. The calamari I had tonight was the best I have ever had it was very tasty soft and batter was delicious!! And our dinners were not a disappointment as well very good. Will be returning 🤙

Google
First time at Maria’s even though we walk past it all the time. Food was great. Scotty did well even though it was busy. Most dishes about $25. We had piccata and the combo platter. Very nice. Comes with bread roll but extra for salad, etc. They do not seem to offer a less expensive wine or carafe. Ordered the house wine which ended up being, without us knowing, one of the more expensive bones on the wine list. Live and learn. Very good food , from a 100% Italian.

Google
Service was great, (thank you Tyler) food was very tasty, serving sizes are crazy big, they serve garlic rolls and oil, salads were fresh, iced tea is nice & strong. We've had their calories before and they were just as good. Would definitely recommended. Servers are wearing masks and seating is spaced appropriately.

Google
Ordered take out, automatic phone system took my order. Gave a 35 minute wait time but food was ready in about 25 minutes. Hostess was friendly when I arrived. Overall pretty good food, we got garlic knots, stuffed shells, and the Italian sausage.

Yelp
Pizza was great service was great. Need to update the menus on yelp and website. We did carry out.

Yelp
Fantastic food - the alfredo was just rich enough not to let me down, and the Sicilian pizza was one for the books. Too many places serve a bland alfredo which lacks life and luster. Not Maria's. Theirs is almost exactly what you want, from creaminess to garlic notes. The Sicilian pizza we ordered with pepperoni only. It was executed to perfection, most notably the crust. It was crispy and light and NOT greasy. Fantastico. Maria's could be a five-star establishment if it wanted to. The atmosphere is bland and unkept, and the service leaves something to be desired. A dash of focus in these departments would take it to the next level. All in all, I WILL BE BACK! The flavor does not waiver. -WES

Yelp
Let me start by saying we have been patrons at Maria's for 5 years but tonight was terrible. The baked penne was nearly all cheese and sauce with minimal pasta. The chicken Marsala was too thick and under cooked. The gnocchi was good but swimming in sauce. The dipping sauce for the garlic bread was over seasoned as well. Very sad and disappointed that our favorite place is becoming a least favorite.

Yelp
The pizza was phenomenal and very fast service. Tasted like fresh real cheese. I can't wait to order again.

Yelp
Based on this weeks experience with ordering from Maria's. We got a white pizza the tiger day and it was still good. Last night I ordered the chicken parm Stromboli. This used to be the size of a large pizza folded over. When it came in a tiny box last night, I was confused. Got home opened it up and it was so tiny. It had to be a 1/3 of the size it used to be. Sadly Maria's is no longer one of our favorite spots to eat. I'm posting a pic with my hand in it for comparison.

Yelp
I was disappointed in the food that was delivered by Door Dash tonight. The Fettuccine Alfredo had a spicy snd garlicky taste, and a brownish, gritty look and taste. The Chicken Francaise looked nice, but really didn't have much of a taste. We make better shrimp scampi at home. The food has gone downhill since Maria, Cesar, and Ruth were running the show. I was embarrassed, because I hyped up the food and the history to my brother, who's visiting from Massachusetts. I'll order from Buen Appétito next time.

Yelp
Once again Marie's have not failed us. Faced with a meal on the go we ordered two large pizzas and sides. I was amazed they had the ready in 15 minutes. This place is a good all around choice. Dine in or take out.
google avatar

Netty B.

Yelp
First time ordering- pizza was good but the dirty scampi shrimp app was disappointing. 4 shrimp and a lemon slice for $13.40??? Picture is blurry but even if it wasn't wouldn't make it any better. Looks nothing like the advertised picture

Yelp
Ok, for starters I was hungry and was literally the first person to be seated at 4PM. A gentleman was ahead of me to pick up a rather large to go order. The server was very, very kind and led me to my table very quickly. I chose Maria's not because I had read a review or anything like that, but because a favorite bartender left the restaurant where I got to know her and returned to Maria's as a server. Enough about the why. My server (Tris) was just about the nicest (and most patient person) ever. She guided me in my choices and though she has worked there only a couple of months, she knew the menu very well. She was cheerful, responsive, and was on her game the whole time...while taking her time with me and making me feel like I was "somebody". I chose the pizza with a cauliflower crust and was so impressed with the quality of everything. The pizza sauce tasted like I always want pizza sauce to taste, but never does. There was another non-pizza dish on the menu that piqued my interest...so it is inevitable that I will be coming back very soon. They take reservations, but that wasn't an issue for me as early as I arrived. If you want a table at 7 probably on any night of the week you should book ahead. Yum, just yum.

Dave J.

Yelp
All things considered everything was good until the bill came and we got charged 5 dollar to spilt a 25 dollar dish and a 15 dollar antipasta salad. I don't understand the logic when the people next to us spilt a pizza at no charge without a 15 dollar salad. Please explain

Yelp
Everyone has been raving to me about Maria's and I was stoked to try them out this week. It's so small and was very busy. Lots of takeout orders and we had a short wait which was fine. When we sat down the gave us some Rolls with olive oil and herbs to dip them in. They were really good but they look a little sad with the cheese just sprinkled on top like that. The pasta was soooo good, I got fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and broccoli. I'm pretty picky about chicken when ordering out and it was cooked well. Not chewy! My mom had an eggplant pasta dish she really enjoyed as well. Looking around we just had to have pizza too! We got Margarita which came with very large tomato's on top- I do prefer a small tomato but it was delicious the way it was too! I will deff be back as I need to try everything and I need a cannoli next time too.
google avatar

Bruce K.

Yelp
Dinner with Mom and we lucked out, arriving early without a reservation. During tourist season - and Saturday night in February is definitely tourist season - you will want to call ahead. We had a busy table in the back near the kitchen with constant traffic going past us. But that's how it is in a busy restaurant! Mom chose the Chicken Francese and enjoyed it. A big portion and half of it went home. I went to the Maria's Baked Combo, which was a gigantic pile of dinner. A piece of chicken parm, a meatball, some of their eggplant rollatini and a sausage, all served over penne and topped with sauce and melted cheese. Delicious! Their garlic rolls are pretty darned awesome if you like hot bread with melted cheese and garlic butter. Yum! Service was good though it took a couple of reminders here and there to move things along to the next step. Bring some patience and if you're in the Cape during the offseason - as Peter M. would say - give 'em a whirl! [Review 19199 overall - 1604 in Florida - 169 of 2023.]

Yelp
Best garlic Parmesan rolls and white pizza!! Love this place! I've been coming here for 20 years.

Yelp
Pizza was delicious! Highly recommend it. We didn't carry out twice while on vacation.

Yelp
Great food! Slow service. Made an appointment and still waited a hour. The grub hub service is what slows everything down

Yelp
Cute intimate Italian restaurant with large portions. Food and service was very good.

Yelp
4/7/2025 Used to be our "go to" Cape Coral Italian place. Ordered a Margarita pizza and Maria's baked combo. They successfully exceeded the "sucks" factor from the last time we ordered. The meatballs used to be the best in town. The one received tonight smelled like cat food. The sausage had a weird unidentifiable taste and texture. The Margarita pizza had very tough dough covered with an ultra thin layer of cheese, a very small amount of chopped tomato's and a sprinkle ( as in almost zero) chopped basil. ZERO flavor except for the powdered garlic on the crust. Did I fail to mention the lack of ANY sauce... ZERO! Basically cheese bread for $16. The total for these two "dishes" .... $48 ! Last time, not going to do it again.

Sharon T.

Yelp
This used to be one of my favorite Go to for Italian take out. This time started by calling in and getting the AI virtual robot ...what a frustrating disastrous way to order food. Took at least twice as long and the order was not right when we went to pick up the order. Also, we ordered at 5:30 pm and the robot said your order will be ready at 9 pm. We corrected the robot and was given a 35 minute pick up time. Then, when we checked the order at the restaurant, we got flack for checking the order by the girl at the register, but good thing we did. What they brought out was wrong. Ordered 2 orders of meat balls (2 to an order) and were given only 2 meatballs. We ordered the small cannoli (menus says 2 to an order) we got one small cannoli. The time that we were given for pick up was wrong and had to wait another 25 minutes before the pizza was put in the oven and came out. The eggplant Rollatini was underdone. When we mentioned to the staff how problematic ordering with the AI robot was, the staff member told me if I want to order take out, I had to deal with the robot. Then I said it was a bad, frustrating experience and wanted to talk to a real person and won't deal with the robot again... and if that is my only option, then you lost a good customer. The staff response response was, "the owner has 7 restaurants and he just doesn't care." We grabbed our order and left.

Yelp
I ordered for delivery the large pizza and 10 wing special. The pizza was good, but the wings were over cooked, dried out and not edible at all. While writing this I called the restaurant and have been on hold for over 7 minutes.... Now 8 minutes going on 9 and now why bother, just won't order from here again or recommend to anyone.

Yelp
Second time here, I had a side Caesar salad & hub & I had pizza, best pizza in Cape Coral we've found since we moved here from Chgo over a year ago. Service was great!

Yelp
This is the best Italian food you will have. That how the person going out if this place tell me on my way in... He was not kidding!!! The sauce is so rich and flavor amazing. The food came fast and was very happy about that

Yelp
Ordered thru DoorDash. Got the Garlic rolls and a large pizza with our favorite toppings. Would order again. Italian sausage is very tasty. Toppings were generous. They need to add a way to let people order a side of ranch on DD.I got it extra with the rolls but I like it with my pizza too. Pizza was big for a large. Everyone enjoyed the pizza and rolls. Good stuff.

Jacqueline S.

Yelp
First time order - last time for sure. Waited over 1 1/2 hours for delivery for a pizza that was almost $50 for the pizza to get cancelled by their delivery service. Not sue why the restaurant would continue to use such an unreliable service, but I will never try Maria's - nor will I place an order with any place that uses SLICE for delivery and tracking.

Yelp
Almost drove by because the place is obscured by the parking. My aunt said this place has been around for 25 years. Tuesday night and they had a brisk takeout going and several tables of regulars. I had Maria's baked combo and what more could you want? Sausage, meatball, penne, chicken Parm and eggplant rollatini. I loved it. Save room for dessert. I took half of my food and half of my dessert home for later. Excellent dessert menu. We had tiramisu and cannoli. Our waitress Lindsay was a doll. Super sweet and attentive. Again not fine dining but soooo good. Can't wait for my next trip to Cape Coral for more delicious food. PS they serve garlic rolls. I can't eat garlic but I could sure smell them. Prices are fair for what you get. Don't hesitate to try it.

Yelp
I did not feel welcome in that place. Nobody greeted us. Some wait staff actively avoided us. It took forever to get served. It took almost an hour for our to go order to come out. And this was the service while the place was practically empty. The calamari was a little on the salty side. The pizza was decent though.

Michele G.

Yelp
We ordered delivery from Maria's for the first time recently. The food arrived on time, hot, and absolutely delicious. The quantity of food was amazing! We will definitely be ordering from them again and again.
google avatar

Ashley R.

Yelp
Huge delicious portion of my fav classics, the chicken parm was crispy and breaded very well and the meatballs there are great.
google avatar

Gavin H.

Yelp
Ordered a small pizza tonight for dinner. I have tried several pizza places in the area and this was by far the best. Bella working the front counter was very friendly and you can tell that she truly cares about her customers and is passionate about her job that is not common anymore, especially in food service. It is clear that she is a true asset to this restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Dined in tonight. White Pizza and Chicken Piccata w/ Gnocchi pasta. Our server, Morgan, was fantastic. Maria's is a small somewhat intimate restaurant.
google avatar

Patty M.

Yelp
Got take out. Pizza was delicious as well as the Antipasto salad. Would definitely order take out again. Enough for dinner a 2nd night too. Bonus!!

Yelp
So before I write this, I know I probably should have just gotten a pizza or pasta to stay. But I saw some recommendations about good chicken parm subs here and I had Covid over the weekend so my husband picked it up. I also think that if you have something on your menu then it should be good. Don't do it if you can't do it right. My chicken parm sub wasn't great. The chicken was burnt, cheese wasn't completely melted, and the sauce is just fine. Nothing special. And the parm cheese on top of the sub and the garlic rolls was not freshly grated. The rolls also had a really fake looking and tasting butter on top too. They were just ok. The fries were a real disappointment. Yes, fries get soggier when they are in a box for an entire car ride. But these fries were pale and clearly were never crispy. And they did not have any salt. My husband got wings with garlic parm sauce which was clearly from a bottle and looked and tasted off. The wings were crispy and tasty without the sauce though. If I ever go back, I'll update this and get pizza instead. But I doubt we will because it's too far and there are decent pizza places closer to us. But we tried!

Dave T.

Yelp
It's sad, but I'm done with this once great family owned establishment. I gave the new owners a chance. The final straw was my recent take out order. My order was done on line with a suggested pick up time frame given after checkout. I arrived at the later end of the time given in my confirmation only to wait another 10+ minutes before my order was retrieved from the kitchen. While waiting I observed the ongoing chaos at the understaffed front end. I had heard about this problem from a few of my neighbors. I watched one customer after a long wait, refusing her order because it came from the kitchen cold. The hostess offered to have a new order prepared, the customer refused. Furthermore, customers with reservations also had long waits before the hostess was able to find time to seat them. My neighbors stopped going months ago because they said the service had become unbearable. I now see why. Poor management is clearly the problem. I think that the hostess should not have to spend her time running to the kitchen and checking on take-out orders when she should instead be the "face" of the the house and greet and seat guests as they arrive. I can't imagine what it was like for those seated and eating in the dining area. The new owners need to call someone like Jon Taffer now, before it is too late!

Catherine S.

Yelp
Great pizza fast delivery one of our favorites The Parmesan chicken calzone was excellent as was the vegetable pizza and pepperoni pizza. Plenty to feed a crowd.

Claudia R.

Yelp
HORRIBLE!!! What a disgrace of a business. Wanted to take my wife out for dinner on Valentine's day and was robbed by one of their own SERVERS (DANIEL) the theif. I did not leave a tip at first, and while as I left, I received a bank statement from Maria's stating that i had been scammed, charged double with tips, than what i had payed for originally. And He most definitely made a copy of my original receipt and tipped himself $10.00 and another $12. Watch out guys...

Lauren M.

Yelp
My husband and I loved Maria's! Their garlic bread and pizza was absolutely delicious. The pastas we ordered were also very good. I loved the authentic casual Italian ambiance. Can't wait to go back for another Italian night.
google avatar

Jacqueline Y.

Yelp
Will not go back, table for 8, reservations, everyone's dinner came out at different times, our pizza , 1 1/2 hour later still wasn't served, another pizza at the table was served. We witnessed several, many, take out pizzas were out. Other tables that came in after us and were leaving. We asked the waitress where our pizza was and the answered ,"I dont know", WHAT? Our table was finished and she brought our pizza out and said "no charge". We live 25 minutes away so take out pizza was not what I had in mind.
google avatar

Yelp
We haven't been to Maria's in many years. We decided to go out at the spur of the moment and drove past lots of restaurants that were closed. It's Fathers Day and Maria's was packed. I wonder if they are short of help. The young man that seated us also was taking orders and serving food. Crazy what this pandemic has done to local businesses. Sammy was our waitress and she was sensitive to my low carb needs. So I ordered the Chicken Cacciatore that was grilled and a side of sautéed spinach instead of pasta. It came with a delicious cup of pasta fagioli, that was extra tasty. Dave ordered Maria's baked Combo, chicken parm, eggplant rollatini, Italian sausage, Italian meatball and baked Penne! Who could ask for more lol! Plus he started with a side salad and Italian Creamy dressing. Everything was fresh snd homemade and the portions were huge! The only negative was that it was very warm in the restaurant. Thank you Maria's for a lovely Father's Day dinner! We love supporting our local family businesses!
google avatar

Chrissa M.

Yelp
This was a delicious mom and pop restaurant, making a comfortable environment with good food. Our meals were absolutely delicious. The inside is super traditional for an Italian restaurant, which was perfect for our Sunday night. Great setting for groups of all sizes! The only issue we had was the lack of service. I don't blame them because it was obvious that they were understaffed with servers and hostess. We will definitely be back for the addictive garlic rolls!

Yelp
I struggled to post this review because we've had so many great meals here. Unfortunately something here has changed and I felt obligated to point this out since I've posted several great reviews in the past. The last THREE times we've eaten here have left us wondering what is going on. The food doesn't taste as good and the service is below average. I even think the waitress we had (last month) was stoned or drunk, definitely not right. Last week we arrived on a Friday night and noticed immediately that the temperature in the dining room was downright hot. There was not a ton of people in there (not as many as usual) so we couldn't blame it on the crowd. The restaurant was either having issues with the AC or they had turned it up to save money. Either way, it made for quite an unpleasant dining experience. I am not usually warm but it was even too warm for me! It seemed odd that nobody made any attempt to explain or apologize. Do you remember the story the Emperor's new clothes? They pretend nothing is wrong so it isn't, right? Strike one. When we ordered our food, we made a point (like we always do) to tell the waitress about my husband's cheese allergy. If you've read my other reviews, you know how much of a challenge that tends to be. It has not been much of a problem in the past here but twice in a row, we've had issues. This time the waitress brought out the rolls with cheese sprinkled all over them and we just looked at her. She stared back at us completely clueless...forcing us to remind her about the cheese allergy. The light bulb went on, she apologized profusely, and quickly brought new rolls. Strike two. When our food came out, take a guess....yep, cheese all over the top of the penne pasta dish! The waitress placed the dish in front of my husband and we both just looked in dismay. We waited for her to realize but, again, clueless. I said "Tell me what's wrong with that dish." Only then did she realize that, once again, she had served cheese to the guy with the cheese allergy. Strike three. Now I do feel the need to interject something here. I waited tables when I was younger and always resented when the kitchen goofed which negatively impacted my tip. I had more than one occasion where I wrote special instructions on the order but the kitchen did not read them. I get it and I understand the struggles servers face. That being said, I do expect my server to check the food BEFORE it is served to me! Bringing out the wrong food time and time again means either you are clueless or, worse, you don't give a rip. So....after we rejected the cheese penne, the waitress scurried back to the kitchen and we speculate they did their best to scrape off the top to avoid tossing out the whole dish. Let me ask you a question. Where does cheese go when it melts? EVERYWHERE. My husband was up all night sick. While he was eating his meal, he was picking little pieces of cheese out of the dish and bracing himself for a long, sleepless night with cheese cramps. I am very sad to say that Maria's is off our list. Three strikes you're out! They are always quite busy so I'm sure they won't miss us. However, we miss what it used to be. Hopefully they get it figured out soon.

Yelp
Food is excellent and great service. I visit here as often as I can. Large portions and great for leftovers.

Abby N.

Yelp
First off, I just want to say this place is a must if you're in the Cape! We walked in and got a table immediately. It was quite busy--but SERVICE was PHENOMENAL! The food was delicious, each plate we got was served warm and tasted great. It was very hard finding an Italian restaurant in Florida but please visit Maria's!! Ps Luke was a very hard worker!!!

Troy H.

Yelp
100%. Everything we tried was great! This will be a regular stop for us. The only disappointment was the cannoli. It wasn't bad. Just not outstanding like the rest of the menu.

Phill B.

Yelp
Food was fantastic upon delivery, something hard to come by. The pizza and Veal Parmesan were fantastic.

Christine D.

Yelp
Small cozy atmosphere. Delicious food in a plentiful supply. Sangria is yummy. Very economically priced.

Michele K.

Yelp
Used to love this place, but not any more. Ordered take-out. Food was not hot nor good and they left out the rolls. Portions were much smaller than they used to be and the sauce was bland. Avoid until further notice.

Patti B.

Yelp
We had been going to Maria's for over 10 years, food was always excellent, very consistent and good service. This last trip to Maria's was very disappointing, ordered the the signature veal dish and got veal with an Alfredo sauce and pasta all mixed in, very disappointing the lasagna was dry and not prepared as it was in the past. Spending over $100 for a dinner, I expect better service and food quality. There are many other restaurants in the area that have better quality all around

Kathy M.

Yelp
I have always loved Maria's but had a very bad customer service experience with the person who answered my call tonight, Dec. 29th at around 7pm regarding a missing item on my Uber Eats order. We spent over $100 and the restaurant didn't send a cheesesteak stromboli with the driver, which was fine, as everyone makes mistakes. I called to see if we could still get it and was curtly told that there was nothing she could do and I need to take it up with Uber Eats and then she hung up on me. Nice!

Yelp
Our experience with Maria's Pizzeria & Restaurant was during the Covid-19 Pandemic. For this reason, we decided to utilize carry out. We ordered the hand tossed cheese pizza with sausage on half. They were very quick and the pizza was ready when we arrived. The flavor of the pizza was good and it had plenty of cheese/sauce. Maria's is a great locally owned option!

Kristina S.

Yelp
food had excellent flavor, the staff were very friendly and efficient and the place had a warming atmosphere. highly recommend, we will def be back!
