Counting Down the Best Restaurants in Marietta | Eater Atlanta

"Despite its simple white brick facade, recently opened Marietta Proper is a time capsule of Prohibition-era opulence. Great Gatsby-esque emerald-and-gold interiors (complete with matching floral wallpaper) seamlessly shift from a cozy daytime roastery and cafe into an elegant evening wine and cocktail bar that leans more cool neighborhood hangout than stuffy lounge. Co-founded by chef-sommelier Jordan Traylor and chef William Adamec (alongside Foxglove event space owners Kacey and Hillery Cecil), the restaurant’s menu delivers globally inspired small plates — think arancini stuffed with chorizo and pepper jack, pork belly tacos, and veggie-packed mushroom dumplings — designed to pair with a list of 200 boutique wines and craft spirits. Reservations are recommended, but the lively bar is always first-come, first-served." - Sarah Bisacca

We had the pleasure of working with Hailey to plan a surprise bridal brunch and wow, I can't say enough about how wonderful it was! Hailey was amazing to work with! She was so helpful and went out of her way to make our event special. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. We were in the Speakeasy and it had such a fun vibe. Our server Justin was so sweet and on top of everything. Everyone had the best time and I am so thankful to Hailey, Justin, and the rest of the staff at Marietta Proper for making this event so special.

Marietta PROPER has officially become my number one restaurant in the U.S. Everything about this place is simply exceptional—from how effortlessly you can make a reservation to the very last moment you spend there. The interior design is stylish and inviting, the service is top-tier, and even the appearance and demeanor of the staff deserve a standing ovation. If I could give this place six stars on Google, I absolutely would. Five just doesn’t feel like enough to express how impressed and happy I was with the experience. Our server, Justin, was nothing short of amazing. There were three of us dining that evening, and I arrived a bit late. When I walked in, Justin greeted me by name. He had remembered all of our names and used them throughout the dinner—it was such a small gesture, but it truly left a lasting impression. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced this kind of attentiveness and genuine care in any other restaurant in the U.S. Now, let’s talk about the food. The presentation was a show in itself—thoughtful, creative, and clearly made with love and passion. You can feel the heart of the chef and the vision of the owner behind every detail. And the taste? Absolutely phenomenal. Each of us ordered different dishes and drinks, and we shared everything. Every single bite was perfect. One highlight we all talked about was the barley dish—yes, barley! I’ve never seen barley served at a restaurant in the U.S., let alone in such an elegant and delicious way. It truly blew our minds. Another thing that really impressed me was the variety of non-alcoholic drink options. There were three types of non-alcoholic wine and several non-alcoholic cocktails. That’s honestly top-tier—because not all restaurants and bars offer such thoughtful choices. This is incredibly important for people who don’t drink alcohol but still want to enjoy the atmosphere of a beautiful bar with elevated drink presentations. There was only one small thing that caught my attention—and I hope the owners might take note: a few of the plates had visible chips on them. The dinnerware is absolutely gorgeous, but perhaps not ideal for high-volume bar service, as it may wear down quickly. That said, I’m not taking off even a fraction of a star for this, because it’s a completely fixable detail and didn’t affect our overall experience in any way. Everything else was genuinely perfect. By the end of the dinner, we were so full we could barely breathe—but we still couldn’t resist trying dessert, and of course, it was as flawless as the rest of the meal. Marietta PROPER is not just a place to eat—it’s a place to experience. A place that shows what true hospitality, creativity, and culinary mastery look like. I will be recommending it to everyone I know, and if you’re reading this, please do yourself a favor and go. I have no doubt it will become your favorite, too.

Celebrated my daughter’s engagement at the speak easy downstairs. Excellent venue! The service was above and beyond, food was outstanding and the atmosphere was perfect for our get together. Could not have asked for a better experience.

Google
We go to Marietta Square a lot and have walked by this place and never tried it. So, today was the day. It's a really cool atmosphere, a really cool vibe. Really neat the way they designed it, very laid back and cozy, feeling. The menu is decent, and there are lots of different options from burnt ends to beet salad. We tried the extra crispy wings as an appetizer. Note the extra Crispy and note the photos, they weren't extra crispy. Also, it's very salty. They didn't mention in the description that it came in a brine. And when you add sauce and it over salted it, so we couldn't add any sauce, but the winf meat was good and tender, too bad. A service state just seemed overwhelmed. Yeah, they tried. They did a good job trying, but there were a couple of times where, like, hey, could use more water, that kind of thing. All in all, not bad, but I would not go back for the food. Altgough I will say the cheese grits and beet salad were delicious.

Google
Pleasantly surprised with this spot after just picking it out from a google search. First time here and will definitely be back. Atmosphere was great….live music was really good….staff super nice (Sam and Victoria upstairs and Conner and Adriel downstairs)…..food was outstanding. We did several sharables for dinner and they were all fab…will go back and try others. If you are in the area definitely stop in for a drink and some delicious food.

Google
First time here. Great location. Need more places like this in the Marietta area. Came for a birthday dinner. Nicely decorated. Nice atmosphere. Service was good. Menu had good selection but they were out of some items. And the items they were out of I really wanted to try. Ordered the braised beef bites and Gouda mash potatoes and the wings. Food was really good!! Not huge portion sizes but enough to be fulfilling. Old fashion was good!! Hard to find someone that can actually make it! I will give this place another try. I enjoyed myself. I do recommend.

Google
We loved our experience at Marietta Proper Speakeasy! I went recently for a girl's brunch out. The service was excellent and friendly. The food was delicious. I would highly recommend the shrimp and grits. And as the photos show, it is a beautifully airy space with attention to every detail. I look forward to our next outing there and would highly recommend Marietta Proper!

Google
Eating at a bar > drinking at a restaurant; this place is INCREDIBLE and definitely deserves more notoriety! From staff, to atmosphere, to drinks and food; this place doesn’t miss! The food and drinks taste just as incredible as they look! Came here for the espresso martini’s, ordered the espresso martini flight, Blueberry lamb chops and the “Up in Flames” espresso martinis; definitely going to be frequenting this place! My gal and I have found our new favourite spot!

Yelp
This is a great place for brunch. The food was great (grits a tad salty) and the vibes were there. Great staff!!! They made me want to come back. Oh and The chef knows their eggs!! Parking is of course Marietta Square parking. Perfect for small groups. Wheelchair accessible.

Yelp
Visited Marietta Proper for the first time on a Thursday evening, and it was a great experience! We sat at the bar, and our bartender was super friendly and attentive. We ordered the Smoked Old-Fashioned and the Smoke Show--both were tasty, but the Old-Fashioned was definitely the winner. For food, we had the wings and the Braised Beef Short Rib. The short rib was absolutely delicious--tender and full of flavor. The wings were a little undercooked at first, but the staff was great about fixing it, and when they came back, they were cooked just right. Overall, it's a great spot with good drinks, solid food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely recommend Marietta Proper for a night out!

Yelp
We stopped in here on Christmas Eve while looking for a community to relocate to. The downtown square area has just the vibe we had been looking for and after sling a peek inside at the decor, we knew we would come back. We returned on the 26th around 6 for a cocktail before heading back to our quarters. The vibe, decor, ambience does not disappoint. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple of Smokey old Fashionds. With a Maker's 46, what's cocktail! My wife noticed a doorway and asked about it. We were referred to Will, the manager, who took us down to what has been a members only lounge. Super cool and the kind of place we hoped to discover. We mentioned we were looking to relocate and we enjoyed the square in Marietta. He gave us a couple of other places to check out and introduced us to a local guy who gave us more info. What a wonderful experience! This is the kind of community we seek and have enjoyed. So why 3 stars????? The bartender poured Buffalo Trace. When I asked about Makers 46, she told me the menu had a typo. They were only a week old, but were incorrect. Ok, a little sketchy, but not too bad. I went to the restroom and my wife paid. When we got to the car she told me the menu also had the wrong price. Instead of $13 they charged $18 per cocktail. $10 isn't going to break me, but I really felt like this was a bit of bait and switch. The bartender did nothing preemptively to tell us the menu was wrong on the bourbon. But then to not tell us the drinks were actually almost 40% more than what was on the menu? That's something you need to be made aware of, especially when you've already called out an inaccuracy. Love the place, we will come back, but we will ask a LOT more questions to ensure things are on the up and up. The menu should be transparent and taken at face value... These are simple fixes that can be corrected immediately and easily. I know it will be better when we return!

Yelp
Been here twice for lunch and enjoyed both times greatly! First time, I ordered a chicken sandwich and it was so good. Also ordered the espresso martini and wow. They have an oat milk cold foam on top and it is so special. Second time around, I ordered the shrimp bowl. You can tell that the ingredients are quality here and you don't leave feeling gross. This is a good staple to have in Marietta square and I plan to keep coming back!

Yelp
Nice staff, great food and place to meet up. The drinks pricing is a little comical, so we stuck with one.

Yelp
I recently visited Marietta Proper for the first time, and I was absolutely blown away! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the perfect tone for the evening. The ambience is simply unmatched--cozy, stylish, and full of charm. The food was nothing short of amazing. Each dish was bursting with flavor, and you could really taste the quality of the ingredients. The menu had a great variety, and everything we tried was incredible. We had the beets & burrata, salmon croquette, chickpeas & bacon, grilled seasonal vegetable board (absolute favorite), braised short ribs, shrimp toast. We also had a few desserts! The drinks were equally impressive, with a fantastic selection of creative cocktails and a well-curated wine list. The service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff who made sure our experience was perfect from start to finish. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
The location is so cute across from Marietta Pizza at the square. Parking is ample, but I would recommend coming a bit earlier in case it's busy at the square. The everything we had were a bit above average, but nothing extraordinary. The desserts were the best part of the whole meal. Thank you to the Wait staff who were all friendly and accommodating. I would recommend and will be back try other items on the menu.

Yelp
It was my first time at this restaurant ad I'm between a 3.5 and a 4. I went here with friends for our annual birthday dinner. Parking in Marietta Square is always a challenge but we found a spot in a lot near the food hall. It's a short walk away. Once we got inside and I gave my name for the reservation, the hostess pointed us in the direction of our table which was a little odd. I am normally escorted but no big deal- we're a pretty laid back group so we just walked to our table. The server came by and took out drink orders. He was nice and professional. He talked us through the menu, pointing out their popular dishes. We ended up ordering a few different dishes to share since the concept is tapas. Some menu items were marked as gluten free so I didn't mentioned that I required gluten free. When the beets and burrata salad came out, I noticed the bread on the dish that looked very glutinous. While I didn't eat the salad I did taste an apple from the dish and it was delicious. The salad was marked gluten free on the menu but our server did confirm the bread in fact was not GF. I was a little disappointed when the tuna tartare arrived at the table because it was being served with wontons- glutinous wontons. So our server offered me Gluten free bread. I feel like menu items should be listed as MGF if they are not leaving the kitchen as a GF dish. The shrimp toast was tasty as was the queso and chorizo served with house made chips. They have a good wine selection along with cocktails. The espresso martini is also very good here, a lot better than some I've had recently. I would go back for the espresso martini for sure and maybe a bite to eat.

Yelp
This is a review of the 1 martini I ordered when I came inside. I had consumed other cocktails on the sidewalk table before and was pleased. The price of my gin/vodka martini was $25.50! The bartender charged separately for each liquor. (as if I had been given one of each Vodka and Gin, on the rocks?) This cocktail should had been tops $14.00. The place is gorgeous but I'm not recommending it to my friends. Not sure if I got rung up incorrectly, but it feels like it. I didn't want to make a fuzz because it was my 1st time seating inside, but in retrospect, I definitely should had spoken to manager to have the price adjusted. BTW $12 for Tito's is ABSURD

Yelp
Marietta Proper exceeded my expectations. A friend suggested it and I was on the fence, having heard they served "small plates with large prices", but I now know better and disagree! Our server, Patience was fabulous. She helped me select a wine which was perfectly to my taste. My friends and I shared queso and chips, shrimp toast, and the cauliflower. It was all delish and enough food for the 3 of us. I did not leave hungry. The shrimp toast was especially tasty. The decor at Marietta Proper is well done. Excellent attention to detail. It was a very enjoyable space. Rich colors and lovely gold accents. All in all we had a great girls nice, impeccable service and delicious food and wine. Highly recommend for a girls night or date night.

Yelp
This is a super cute wine bar and some really good cocktails with some great food options! We loved the whole ambiance when we came in from the decor to the playlist they had going. First, the service was great. Our waitress, Patience was very knowledgeable and was able to tell us in great detail about all of the items on the menu which helped us in picking some delicious choices. She recommended the Buffalo Cauliflower, which had great flavor and crispness. We've been thinking about them ever since. The Jamaican chicken empanadas weren't our favorite but they weren't horrible just wouldn't order again. And the short rib comes as an appetizer or a main entree which we ordered the appetizer portion and it was sooo good!! We wanted cocktails for this outgoing, despite going to a wine bar which we were pleased with. For dessert, since it was my birthday we got a on the house strawberry basil cheesecake, which wasn't bad and a Pistachio Ricotta Cake which I really enjoyed its spongy, semi-sweetness. Overall, we can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I very much recommend this place for a nice night on the square. We popped in on a Tuesday night, and it was busy but not full. Hubs was very hungry, so he started with the burnt ends and we shared the bruschetta. The burnt ends were considered a small plate, which is their smallest portion, but this was a big serving. You could definitely share this as an app. I had a bite, and they were super good. The bruschetta was great! It's a bun quartered, but it seemed bigger than that. The bread was crispy but not hard like bruschetta can be. I appreciated that it was a bit softer. For entrees we had the short rib and shrimp ravioli. Both were awesome. The portions were good, but if you are famished, you'll need an app or two. The drinks were nice. We both had the play on an old fashion with uncle nearest bourbon and maple. They were sweet but good. They felt strong enough. If I ordered it again (which I will), I'd ask them to cut the sweetness a little. The desserts were ok but not a must. They didn't have a lot of the ones we wanted to try. The puff pastry with fruit was good and large, but wasn't anything special. Dessert was the low point of the meal, but it was fine. Service was kind and attentive.

Yelp
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch visit to Marietta Proper! We happened to be in the area and were so appreciative of this recommendation. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, and the customer service is top notch. We were seated immediately, and every item was delicious. My husband had the shrimp and grits, and I had the croissant, bacon, and grits. The salted caramel cappuccino was amazing! My husband, who is not a coffee drinker, requested his own drink after having a sip of mine.

Yelp
My sister and I were looking for a breakfast spot in Marietta and we stumbled upon this one. The restaurant is located in the heart of Marietta Square. Parking can be a struggle. We got lucky and found someone leaving. We only had to walk 1 block. Upon walking in there is no indication of what you should do. We were just looking around and had to ask a staff member to be seated. There needs to be a host stand or a sign indicating you can seat yourself. We were seated at a bar height table. I will say the table and chairs are cute, however, the foot bar on the chair is a hazard. It is slippery and I foresee someone hurting themselves. Our wait staff was Patience. She took our drink orders first. When the drinks came out she took our food orders. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk. My sister ordered a macchiato with oat milk. I really enjoyed my drink. The coffee is solid! They do offer flavored syrups for your coffee drinks if you desire that. Please also note that they serve traditional macchiato's. Don't expect a large serving size for this drink. I ordered The Proper breakfast which is basically eggs, protein, and house fries. My sister opted for the croissant sandwich with a side of fruit. The food came out in decent time. If you see my pictures you will note that it does not look appetizing! It also was not tasty. Saying it's average is being generous. The only item that had decent flavor was the home fries. If you know me, I typically clean my plate. I left plenty on this one. It was just not good. The saving grace of this place is the decor and coffee. It's a cute space, but it's just not enough for a restaurant. The food has to shine! I will say that maybe the lunch and dinner is better. However, I can't say that I will be finding out.

Yelp
Great Restaurant! Ambiance is perfect! Was able to have brunch and my friends and I enjoyed ourselves! Make sure you check it out when in Marietta square!

Yelp
Great small and shareable plates, extensive wine offerings by the glass and bottles, constantly evolving cocktail list, wonderful ambience, and great service experience!! Highly recommend.

Yelp
To be fair, I will try it again. This morning I thought I'd celebrate my birthday with a Bloody Mary in the Square. DOOGIE (bartender) tells me his are great. Three minutes later he reports he is out of Bloody Mary mix. Salmon but was OK, but apparently aioli and red onion are also out.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food and coffee. I had the Salmon BLT and a side salad!! The dessert is so delicious! Exactly what I was craving!!! The restaurant café is so cozy, comfy, upscale and modern. What a lovely, wonderful hidden gem!! The employees are so customer-forward, patient, gentle, knowledgeable, kind and absolutely incredible!! Such awesomeness! Will be back!!

Yelp
Such cute atmosphere in the Marietta Square. The decor is super trendy and the menu is delectable!! We chose to do 4 different shareable and the Sauvignon Blanc from Italy. So yum!

Yelp
My husband and I recently dined at Marietta Proper for the first time, and we had a nice experience. Sitting outside on such a beautiful day made it even better. Our server was sweet and attentive. My husband ordered the southwest burrito, which was really good; however, it could have benefited from a bit more salsa, as they only provide a small cup for a pretty large burrito. I opted for the salmon BLT, which was delicious, but I found the bread to be quite dense and tough, which didn't complement the dish as well as it could have. We also tried the carafe of mimosa, which was decent but nothing to write home about. Overall, it was a pleasant meal, and we'll be returning!

Yelp
Had big expectations. High hopes. Was let down big time. The drinks were ok. Had planned to get a few, stopped at 1. Had the roasted veggies. They weren't really roasted. I think they were steamed and then maybe tossed in the oven at the last minute. Just wasn't quite what was advertised. Had the bruschetta. Tasted like the bread had been put too long in the microwave. The veggies on top were mush. The pork belly tasted really porky. Like gamey. Like reheated pork maybe. Very fatty even though we asked and they said it wasn't. Short rib was meh. We left most of the food uneaten and left to try again somewhere else. Ended up at Silla Del toro and love loved it. Wouldn't go back to Marietta proper. Not good. The decor is 5 stars and the service was good. Although the bar tenders were really loud and obnoxious while we were there and could hear them from the dining room area. Too many other good spots in Marietta to mess with this place.

Yelp
Marietta needed an aesthetic bar with pretty drinks and Marietta Proper delivered so hard! We went on a weeknight and I'm so glad we did because this place gets packed quick We were seated immediately, and we ordered some appetizers to share and cocktails. Everything was delicious! Drinks are priced between $13-$15 but they are strong The aesthetic, decor, service, free parking at the square makes this place a must visit in my eyes. Would happily recommend!

Yelp
I got the braised beef sandwich for lunch one day and it was fantastic! The ambience was also very nice, big fan of the whole vibe. The service was great too! Our server Spencer was in training and was absolutely awesome! Definitely would recommend to anyone who wants good food for a great price. My boyfriends review: Freakin good man. Eat it eat it eat it eat it eat it eat it

Yelp
Marietta Proper is a very new establishment right off the Marietta Square. I'll give space and grace that they've barely been open a full month. My review is not on the service. The service was supreme considering the upcoming food review. Patience, the serve was amazing. Ask for her and you'll be taken care of. The good. The place is very cute. It's giving modern great Gatsby elegance. Simple but posh furniture and well lit for the vibe. No hookah... no grass wall. No giant TV screens showing the latest game. The wings were great. They were meaty. We tried two flavors. And they were a good start... we had high hopes simply based on the wings. The ehhhh. Here is where the ball starts rolling down hill slowly. The old fashion is a house specialty... I didn't notice anything special except the bacon wrapped cherry. For the "fancy" approach to the drink... a proper luxurious cherry and maybe a candied bacon should have been used. The attempt just didn't land. It tasted ok, but I've had better. The short ribs were salty, almost inedible. The waitress was quick to resolve and offered a different entree. The chicken al la Charles... it was also a little salty. We tolerated it, but it wasn't the best. We finally got around to the shrimp ravaoli... this was the saving grace. It was tasty, a nice balance of seafood, and NOT salty. All in all, MP is cute. I think they will find their feet and learn to balance the salt in recipes with time. I genuinely think it was a one-off. I would suggest the place to others, and I wish them the best

Yelp
Saw this place as we were leaving another restaurant in the square and wanted to see what it had to offer and let me tell you... it did NOT disappoint! From the atmosphere to the music, this place was a whole vibe! A black owned business in Marietta with great food and excellent service. The owner stopped by and talked with us, and our server was on point. For a cocktail, I had the Amalfi Me, which was a tequila based drink with limoncello and citrus. It was delicious and very refreshing. It was so delicious that I ordered two drinks! I wanted to b try other drinks on the menu because the bartenders made everything look so good For food, we had the bruschetta, candied pork belly ends, Jen chicken tostadas, miso- marinated grilled octopus, and the cucumber with tomato salad. Each dish was better than the next. We ordered the tostadas because they gave us someone else's order by mistake, and it looked so good! The bruschetta featured buratta, pickled onions, and pecans. The flavors were amazing and pleasing to the pallette. The jerk chicken tostadas were the perfect combination of sweet and spicy! It offers a surprising kick, and the chicken is so juicy! Will we go back Most Definitely! I think this will become our hang out spot. I recommend trying this place.

Velvet B.

Yelp
I called ahead for lunch to see if I needed a reservation for 1:30. I was told no reservation needed and seating would not be a problem. However when we arrived there was a private party being held taking up half the seating in the restaurant. We ended up sitting at the bar and fortunately Jordan the bartender was very attentive. I had the rice bowl with ahi tuna and my friend had the ahi tuna on a salad. Both dishes were very good. We also had espresso and lemon drop martinis. The drinks are potent! We ended up having a nice experience at the bar.

Yelp
We came here right after they opened, so have to give them a bit of grace as they ramp up. The restaurant looks amazing!! The decor is off the charts. It looks beautiful. The service was ok, but they were new so it's understandable. The food looked so tasty, but it lacked flavor. The veggie appetizer had no salt and some of the vegetables were raw, not roasted. We will give them a try again after they have time to settle in.

Yelp
Beautiful place with a great service. Came out on a quick date night with my husband and we were pleasantly surprised with the decor, food and good vibes. We usually drive into the city but decided to stay local due to the rain. We're excited to have a local place we can go to right up the street from our house. We recommend this wine bar and will definitely be back.

Yelp
Great ambience - wonderful decor! It does mimic the Great Gatsby on the inside. If you want to sit inside please go on a weekday or make reservations! The ambience is why I go- it's a vibe and I enjoy the outdoor seating so I can people watch. I go for the crafters drinks as well- always a refreshing twist to an old time favorite. The food is 6/10, not heavily seasoned which is my preference , I need seasoning! The Eduardo wings are good, big sizes too but a little too much lemon on the wings specifically. They are always sold out of the grit cakes so I haven't had those yet! The salmon croquette is fried PERFECTLY but no seasoning sadly

Yelp
The food was awesome and the service was impeccable. Quaint location with classy decor. I'll be back!

Yelp
Really cool ambiance but the definition of style-over-substance. The food is just average at best. We ordered a bunch of small plates (they were out of many of the things we asked for on a Friday). Nothing popped as something we would want to try again. I came back alone a second time and ordered a chicken entree. Again - just boring. Nothing exciting about the food. If you're looking for a speakeasy-type bar to have a drink at prior to eating at one of the other (better) restaurants in the square, this is a great option. Just don't waste your money on the food.
google avatar

Katie L.

Yelp
This was a really cute place! Great for girl's night or date night! We came after dinner for drinks only and we were impressed. The ambience inside is so fun--felt like I was in a really cool speakeasy. Our drinks were delicious! They were also very reasonably priced which is a bonus. Would definitely recommend visiting! I'll be back to try the food!

Yelp
Had their brunch. Service was less than acceptable and my brazed beef sandwich was cold. Only 4 beers on their menu. Personally I thought it sucked. Sorry

Yelp
Exactly the drink and nibble evening we wanted. Started on the comfy sofa area up front with great craft cocktails. The vibe is perfect. Upscale without pretensions. Perfect decor...wallpaper accent to die for. Chill modern music vibe you want to capture with Shazam to vamp up your life-joy playlists. An 'In fashion' bourbon for me and a festive Crys Tal blue cocktail for my bride to start. After a welcoming chat with the owner, Jordan, we decided to shift to a table that opened up as we imbibed. We decided to order another round and the spicy shrimp avocado toast to end a perfect end to our date night.

Yelp
So my husband and I went here last night. I've been eyeing this place for awhile and we decided to check it out. He ordered the sweet chili wings and I ordered braised short rib. Honestly neither were incredibly impressive. Short rib was 7/10 wings 5/10. We thought for sure the dessert would be great but it was unfortunately covered in chocolate and strong taste of bourbon. We sent it back but it looked really nice. The waitress was super nice and helped us order a different dessert. We finally settled on a strawberry pie. Which was cold and doused with caramel sauce and whipped cream. Ambiance is 10/10 lovely atmosphere Food is 5/10 it's just missing the mark a bit. Its not horrible but it's just unfortunately not quite what you'd think from the looks of the restaurant

Yelp
Great food very good service staff was great. We had the mushroom dumplings, shrimp toast and Salmon crockets. Every was very tasty. One problem was the chairs were terrible, i sat on the springs on the chairs and the person next to us asked his chair to be replaced. If not the chairs I would give five stars.

Yelp
Love everything about Marietta Proper. It has the perfect ambiance to fit most occasions including meetings, girls night out, or a romantic dinner with your boo. On top of all that, the menu is unmatched. So many delicious tapas to choose from and pair with a delightful cocktail. One of my favorite places.

Yelp
Love this place!! Ambiance is chic but casual. Food is phenomenal!!! My favorite item was the seasonal veggie plate! Yes, they made a veggie plate that was exciting and flavorful. Everything is so well made, one can definitely tell that real cooking is going on in the back. And the wine list is extensive, something for everyone and all price points. I attended a private party last night in the members only area and it was beautiful. Cozy, yet spacious at the same time. I can't wait to go back for brunch.

Yelp
Love the vibe and the innovative small plates were creative, and as delicious to eat as they were art form.

Yelp
I will give grace because they just opened and were very busy!!! We're happy to have them in the neighborhood and will be back to try again for 5 stars. Pros: -The food came quick and was very yummy!! - the place is GORGEOUS - the staff is friendly - the prices are reasonable Cons: - we were finished with our appetizer and entree before our wine even came out - No cheese/charcuterie which feels like a big miss for a wine bar - the "specials" weren't explained to me and came out with different ingredients than was told We plan to come back when they're a little more established for a redo!! I want to LOVE and RAVE about the place!

Yelp
I enjoyed every aspect of my lunch here. The ambiance was a subtle nod to a vintage speak easy. The menu was not overwhelming. The choice items are deliciously prepared and plated delicately. Much thought was put into the flavor combinations and colors displayed upon the plate. Music was not too loud, the bar is well stocked and our server was prompt.

Yelp
Stopped in with the hubby for lunch and they were serving brunch. We ordered the shrimp and grits but they were out of it. Hubby then ordered the short rib sandwich. He liked it a lot but said he felt something was missing. He liked the au jus type sauce that was on the side. He gave me a piece of his sandwich and I loved it lol. It was filled with meat! I could taste onions, horseradish etc. the sandwich was huge. I had the French toast and a side of chicken sausage. The sausage was excellent. The French toast was good too, the raspberry sauce was a nice flavor and not too sweet. The Chantilly crème didn't have much taste. The L'appropriee cocktail was good, not too sweet and tasted refreshing. After we ate I had a hot salted caramel cappuccino with oat milk, loved it. It was so creamy and a nice temperature. The bathroom are cute and the restaurant looked clean. The restaurant had two severs that seemed like they worked well together. I will go back to try the dinner.

Yelp
This place food is sooo average .. I cannot remember everything I ate at this place but it was at least two appetizers and an entree with a party including 3 others that also believed the food to be average at best

Yelp
Was not impressed at all. The short rib they claim was their bread and butter was not good at all. I was expec way my more flavor and tenderness but it was not that. Then I wanted something else but they were out of it. Only thing was good was the drink and ambiance. I need a redo!

Yelp
This new up and coming spot in Marietta has a fabulous atmosphere and an amazing selection of wine and whiskey, not to mention very tasty tapas. We love the bruschetta, short ribs and cauliflower bites but I can't imagine not liking anything on the menu. The staff is friendly and efficient, making the whole experience delightful. Thank you.

Yelp
Decided to stop in for breakfast this morning. Fantastic ambience / service / food. Ordered the steak and eggs and cleaned my plate. The place looks amazing. Very high quality glasses & mugs. Bathroom nice and clean. Will return again soon.

Yelp
Have given this place two chances and both were awful. Food and service not good. The decor is very nice but that is about it. If you are looking for cute photos it's fine, but for cocktails or dinner - dine elsewhere.

Yelp
Walked in on a warm afternoon to a cool, relaxing atmosphere. Classy decor with welcoming staff. Our party of three had the Proper Burger, Short Rib sandwich and Salmon BLT. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we'll be sure to return soon!
