Marinara Pizza

I got an eggplant parm pie large added mushrooms. It was DELICIOUS! It has mozzarella cheese, eggplant, mushrooms and basils. It was fragrant and simply delicious. The ratio of the topping and the crust was perfect. It was one of the best pizzas I’ve had. Will definitely come back. The restaurant is clean and the floor is not sticky or greasy at all. So glad to find this pizzeria in my neighborhood! The staff were friendly and nice, too!

Amazingly tasting pizzas, and you get to choose between so many different recipes. Large slices, very honest for 5$ approximately. I would go back there anytime! Oh and pasta alla vodka pizza was really surprisingly good, you should definitely give it a try!

Quick service, busy with good pizza. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I ended up ordering 4 slices of pizza. I had BBQ chicken, Caesar salad, buffalo chicken and sausage pepperoni. The slices are big and well prepared. It’s a couple blocks from Central Park and if you want some pizza visit here.

I used to come here all the time for their famous Mozzarella Sticks, but it’s been a while. Now that I came back, I learned it’s not the same! Cheap, awful quality of mozzarella sticks compared to how they were done previously. I’m very disappointed in this change and wish they would bring back the original way they’d make them. Otherwise, I don’t see a reason to come back. Please bring back the original recipe! A whole community is complaining about this, and wishing for what it once was…. The quality of them now is the same as your basic deli down the block, except you’re paying much more…. Please revert back…

So good pizza! Didn’t expect anything but finally finished ordering more slices cause it was just simple and tasty. Pasta one was looking weird but finally it was our favorite one.

I specifically came here for the Chicken Parm platter because I had seen pictures of it. It’s a generous portion, and it came with a side of penne with marinara. It was delicious!!! There was so much cheese and so much flavor! I’ll definitely be back!

Loved their pizza and calzones! We loved how the pizza bread were chewy and had some garlicky flavor, slices were big and affordable too. Their menu options is wide and freshly made! Will definitely go back when I'm in the city.

Food is excellent, we particularly enjoyed the cauliflower pizza and the eggplant parm. We highly recommend this place for deliveries. Delivery was on time, still hot and well packaged. We will definitely use again.

Last few times I've been, the pizza has been looking MID (see pics) and they want to charge $5 a slice for this sad excuse of pizza. I don't even want to call this a "slice", it's insulting. Do better. And I ask if there's another pie and the same guy who's been there forever says no not until they finish this. So I've had to leave without getting any the last couple visits because I refuse to be played

Solid pizza option on the upper east side!! Their MVP grandma slice is my go to! It has marinara, vodka & pesto and just is incredibly flavorful. I also really enjoy their white slice. The staff is nice and the indoor seating area is great. I find the prices to be reasonable. This is a very consistent reliable pizza spot.

I'm kinda shocked this place isn't rated higher the pizza is GREAT. Grandma slices are easily the way to go with the Vodka slice being my favorite and MVP a close second. White slice is also something you should skip out on! Also it always is so quick you go in and walk out within 5 minutes every time from my experience.

My friend who was visiting from out of town wanted to meet up in the upper west side. She found this pizza spot, so we decided to go there as she missed ny style pizza. There's no bathroom here, but there is indoor seating. The employees were nice and friendly. They were very patient with everyone. I chose the cheese slice as it's their original pizza and had to see if that was good first. Also, I tried their mvp slice as that was highly recommended by the staff and my friend. I enjoyed it, but I liked the original better.

Delivery order. I'm back in NYC and living in a different neighborhood this time so I'm finding my new pizza go to. Marinara Pizza was my third try and I'm hooked. The sauce is out of this world tasty. Crunchy, crispy crust. Perfect amount of cheese. This is my new go to. Also loved the Buffalo wings and House Salad.

If you plan to order online know they use a 3rd party and take no responsibility for the 3rd party: I ordered a pizza for 610p delivery and wanted to make a change so called the restaurant at 5p and they said the pizza was ready. When I explained that my delivery was 610p to 620p from the app, they claimed they take no responsibility (even though it's on their app) and you need to call the app. Why would I want a pizza delivered at 610p that was ready at 5p?

Someone on the radio said this is the best pizza around! I thought it was good but not great. Though I was given a slice that was sitting there probably a while and re-heated. Fresh this could be a lot better. Would give it anothet try.

If i could give 3.5 stars I would. We chose this place because it sold pizza by the slice, had salads and was on the upper east side. We ordered 3 cheese slices, the sautéed broccoli, the arugula salad and the sautéed spinach. There were three of us. One of the veggie sides would have been plenty so this was absolute stuff your face ridiculous. This pizza is very average. It is very easy to find far better pizza by the slice in NY. The veggie sides were all pretty tasty. I would go for the vegetables but not for this pizza. Sauce was pretty plain, cheese was bland and not gooey enough. Crust was good.

Pretty tasty pizza! Nice sauce and interesting crunchy bits on the bottom of the pizza, which help set it apart from other pizza shops. There a few tables and chairs of which you can enjoy your meal, or you can easily take it on the go. I recommended this place to someone before, and they liked it as well (and they're a fairly picky eater).

Excellent, it's up there with the best of them.. fantastic Pizza.. pepperoni squares are the best. All good though

Ordered Sicilian style rectangular pizza mediocre at best cheese sausage and mushrooms. The sausage was a link of tasteless meat I suppose, cut longitudinal in strips , very odd. There are better choices.

I love them! They do great delivery, good times and well maintained, also fast! and delicious. Especially the MVP pie!!!

This pizza is incredible!!! They have a ton of selections of both square (Sicilian) and NY style pizza. My personal favorite is the spicy pepperoni stuffed crust Sicilian slice. Another favorite is the MVP (Margherita/vodka/pesto) Sicilian slice. Any of the NY style slices are solid. Service is pretty quick and they're super friendly. They'll give you a box for all of your to-go slices. There is also a decently sized area to sit and enjoy your pizza. I personally like to eat mine in bed

Actually pretty pleased thanks to yelp! Just flew in earlier today for a week long training course for my Salesforce Admin certification. Didn't want to venture out so ordered uber to the hotel. Chicken picatta was tasty and got the alfredo spaghetti as my side. Also ordered mozz sticks. Would have loved a diff pasta like penne or fettuccine but the sauce was good. Will skip the sticks next time... they didn't look like other pics and were a little disappointing. Overall, good meal for 930pm on a Sunday

I ordered Marinara Pizza through DoorDash specifically for the Super Bowl. Figured they would be busy, so I pre-ordered 4-5 hours early, and set the delivery time 90 minutes before kickoff, building in some time in case they were late. I kept checking the order status, nothing. 20+ minutes after the expected delivery time, I finally got notice that Marinara had cancelled my order completely. No other notice, 20+ minutes late and 4-5+ hours after I ordered it. Ruined a portion of my Super Bowl party. Then Marinara refused to answer the phone and turned off delivery completely, and have made no effort to apologize or anything. It may have been a DoorDash issue in part but refusing any level of contact and just ghosting me was wrong. Just inexcusable level service.

I just went to this pizzeria and bought a whole pie, they took forever and were very rude every time I asked if the pie was about to be ready. They charged almost $40.00 and never gave me my pie, and when I requested my money back they say they would not give anything back. I also asked to get anything they have ready but the pizza guy said he didn't have anything ready to give me, although it was quite a few pies and slides ready to go.

Basic pizza. The crust was too tasteless and lacked any crunch. The sauce and cheese were ok but this place def isn't a 4 star pizza place in NYC. Shockingly this area of the UES is lacking quality pizza.

I used to be a huge fan of the cauliflower crust pizza, as one of the only low-carb/keto-friendly ones I've found. Sure, it was pricey ($20 for basic, $24 for margherita) and the cooking was inconsistent (crust often burnt) but I appreciated it nonetheless. Those days are no more - the cauliflower crust costs the same but is a completely different consistency and surely contains tapioca, rice flour, etc. There's absolutely no way it qualifies as low-carb anymore, and besides removing the old ingredients from their website, you'd never know it (their Instagram account still shows off the old version in recent posts). No longer works for me - ate half out of obligation but threw most of it out. Was fun while it lasted!

Amazing. Pleasant staff + incredible pizza. My favorite pizza in NYC. Must try the penne vodka slice! Any of the Sicilian slices are great too. Can't go wrong!

Marinara Pizza was a quick and convenient stop for a slice before an event at the very nearby 92nd Street Y. However, a plain cheese slice was a steep $4. Other pizzas looked intriguing, like a salad pizza, but I was nervous to ask what they cost. The cashier was more on the aloof side but the guy handing over the slices was friendlier. The plain slices weren't bad though they could've been warmed up for a little longer. Nice crunchy crust. Seating available both inside and outside.

Great selection of slices and fair prices. The slices are large, very fresh, and delicious! I ordered three slices: a margarita, a pepperoni, and not sure what the last one was called but it's in the attached photo haha The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the services was mediocre. Not bad, but just a guy shouting, "next," for each guest's order and an aloof cashier. I'll still be coming back for the great pizza!

I'm going to give them one more chance... I ordered a large pie with extra basil. They told me the basil would cost four dollars extra I said cancel my order a moment later they called me back they thought we got disconnected she said did you want to order it without basil? I said you know what put it through with the basil long story short I received the pie, it had no basil on it. I paid the extra money for the basil I'm not totally blaming it on the store there could've been a miscommunication, so I'm going to give them one more opportunity. However, first impression... The pizza lacked flavor there was hardly any sauce on it, however the crust was excellent yet the pizza in my opinion was mediocre but like I said, I will give them one more opportunity because there are so many pizza places on the upper east side

Marinara Pizza has a few locations in NYC but it doesn't feel like a chain. It is your typical pizzeria with a little upscale touch. I saw the chicken caesar salad slice and it stuck out to me. Unique pizza but it worked and the salad didn't get the crust soggy. You could also tell it was made fresh. I also tried the tricolor sauce square slice with pesto, vodka sauce, and marinara. It was thin and crispy. I scarfed it down so fast I was close to getting another one. Only knock was it was a little hot in there to sit and eat. Solid pizza. Got it at 4 stars.

Extremely average pizza. Well...actually below average pizza. No flavor whatsoever. Tastes like little Caesar's if it was reheated. The ingredients are just bad and poor quality. Crust is dry, sauce is flavor less, and the cheese doesn't grease or goo up like you'd expect a good NY slice to. Managed to somehow finish the NY slice, but threw the caprese slice straight into the garbage after 1 bite. I don't even think raccoons would eat it when they find it in the dumpster. I'd only return here if it was the only thing to eat at 3am, but they close at 9pm, so guess I won't be back.

On our way to Scarr's, walked by this place and impulsively ordered a pepperoni slice here instead... perhaps the best pizza I've ever had.

I've been to marinara many times and overall it's just extremely hot or miss. When you order delivery or do pickup there is a 50% chance they will mess up your order, I've learned to check I have everything I ordered before I leave. The prices are also pretty high for what you are getting overall. The one thing they do have and is the reason they are successful in my opinion is their creative and unique items, like salad pizza or vodka chicken parm with pink sauce. Sometimes you just crave one of these unique items and marinara meets the need and that's what I would recommend it for.

I don't know. This place just didn't do it for me. I arrived really hungry and the veggie selection wasn't great, imo. They offered a Caprese (which I ended up choosing), a typical veggie blend which looked like it had mushrooms (which I don't like) and one that looked like mostly sauce. The slices were a little hard to see so I hastily placed my order. That's on me; I should've taken more time to search for a good option. The food wasn't bad, just nothing as yummy as I've had at another inexpensive NY pizza-by-the-slice joint. The mozzarella on the Caprese is super thick which isn't for me. I wouldn't return. They do have a few outdoor tables.

Grilled chicken salad is rly big and the chicken is rly tasty, The personal pizzas are surprisingly large and just as good as the slices, the grilled chicken parm is amazing, huge portion, tons of cheese and tons of sauce. The pesto bow ties are also well done, wouldn't recommend the Sicilian slice, it's perfectly fine but other places have a better Sicilian.

thin slice pizza was great! thin crispy and delicious! my sister had one of the thick square slices and thought it was yummy. it was quick and casual, exactly what we were looking for. the staff was kind and patient while we looked over the menu options.

Got delivery from Marinara's a couple days ago for lunch. I ordered the homemade mozzarella sticks and a small cheese pizza- extra crispy. I ordered for a delivery at 12:45pm but my food didn't even leave the restaurant until 1:20pm. Whether that's an issue with Grubhub or Marinara I couldn't tell you but I do know that my food didn't hit the hands of a delivery driver until over 30 minutes past when it should've been in my hands. The mozz sticks were actually pretty great! (after I heated them up because they came to me ice cold) They came with a marinara and vodka sauces. The sauces were tasty as well. The pizza however... I'm not sure the cooks at Marinara have heard of yeast in a pizza dough. Whether this was an anomaly of a dough that didn't rise or this is what they want their product to look like is unclear. I mean I was surprised and a little confused that they decided to buy oversized shells from Taco Bell's Mexican pizza for their crusts but who am I to question the Italian authorities at Marinara Pizza. Maybe the culinary minds at this pizza place thought that since New York-style pizza is known for having a thin crust, it might be a competition to see who could produce the thinnest crust. They would certainly be hoisting that trophy with no deliberation needed from the judges. Marinara is a very special place to me in NYC, mostly because there's never been a pizzeria in this city that would make me prefer the frozen works of the Chefs DiGiorgno or Tombstone over a fresh pizza but they've somehow cleared that bar. Marinara Pizza: Go for the mozzarella sticks; don't stay for the pizza.

All I can say is WOW. I've heard of this company before but I never stepped into any of their locations or had anything on their menu. After this first visit however I'm 100% sold. It's undoubtedly some of the best pizza I've had in the UES. My sister and I walked in around 3 in the afternoon on a Saturday. We had just finished checking out the nearby Guggenheim Museum and were looking for a pizza spot that also had options like spaghetti and calzones for purchase alongside their variety of slices. Our yelp search showed us that Marinara was the closest one so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant itself is kind of a modern "no frills" space with a clean look on the inside inside. It had both indoor and outdoor seating as well as complimentary water for customers. We opted to sit outside since it was a nice day out. We had a decent view of the traffic going up and down Lexington avenue. When it came time to order I went with their pepperoni ($3) and buffalo chicken ($5) slices. The pepperoni option came topped with a hearty amount of it's namesake. The buffalo chicken was also a great slice and the addition of the complimentary sweet hot honey dressing made it amazing. Good quality slices for their costs. Great service and even greater slices. I'd definitely give these guys a try if you're in the UES!

I always try to support local businesses. However it's not always a good experience. We ordered two pies from marinara pizza on Lexington Avenue. See the pictures below on how our order was delivered. Completely unacceptable! I tried contacting the store. I have not heard back from anyone. Very disappointing.

This is a really cute, hole-in-the-wall Italian restaurant. I'm so glad I found this because the food was absolutely delicious!!!! The place is a little small with not much seating space. When we came in, one of the staff members behind the counter greeted us and helped us out since it was our first time. The food looked and smelled great!! We got one slice of barbecue chicken pizza, one order of garlic knots, and one order of penne vodka pasta. All three were amazing!! All the food tasted fresh and warm and we loved it!! Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who's in the area looking for a well priced meal :)

The delivery was speedy and it's truly the first really thin crust pizza I've found in NYC. I've had the salad pizza...which was great and ditto the sausage, green pepper, and onion pizza.

Attended an event at nearby 92Y and read the raving reviews but so disappointed with the plain slice! Even some $1 places tasted much better. Their crust is thin which is typically what I like but their pizza lacks any taste of a decent pizza where the sauce is bland and the dough coming off the cheese and marinara sauce is doughy. Makes me wonder whether this neighborhood knows what good NYC pizza tastes like. Genuine good NYC pizza is like Joe's pizza on 14th and 3rd Ave.

I love pizza and was open to trying a cauliflower-based pizza and a pasta dish using zucchini noodles. After looking at the menu, also decided to try chicken wings , mozzarella sticks, penne a la vodka, and chicken francese and a few other types of pizza and Sicilian slices. I didn't care too much for the pasta and chicken dishes. My favorite eats here are the pizzas - doesn't matter if dough is regular or cauliflower.. my heart goes to any slice that has meat.. although here I was happy with both meat and non-meat versions. I wish they had dessert! Seating is limited and it's super casual.. not really good for groups like mine unless you luck out which we did

Went here the other night after work to get some dinner. I stopped by here sometime in 2020 and remember being underwhelmed by the MVP (marinara, vodka, pesto and) slice. I gave it another chance and it was great. I also ordered their vodka slice, which was very good as well. Seeing that their vodka sauce was delicious, I also ordered chicken parm in vodka sauce. It was so cheesy as it should be. I got a side of their burnt broccoli, because I love roasted broccoli. This one is delicious with big chunks crispy, toasted garlic. I also got their chicken Caesar salad slice, because if I'm getting a salad it has to be on pizza. Everything was tasty and the service was quick and efficient. Overall, I would definitely go there if you're on the Upper East Side.
