It was amazing! We ordered tripe and cuttlefish braise, the figs and the mussels. It doesn’t seem like many people ordered these dishes but they were delicious. The steak, flat bread and pasta look popular, Wanna try next time The chef checked if we like the food 😂🥰 We were moved by his consideration and would like to come back. Thank you 🙏

Great small plates to share (the pasta was amazing) and an extensive wine menu. The staff are happy to provide assistance in making selections. I would happily go back to try more of their dishes.

I’ve dined at this restaurant many times, and I can confidently say it’s one of my all-time favorites. Every visit has been a fantastic experience, with consistently excellent food and service. The flavors are always spot on! Whether it’s a casual meal or a special occasion, this place never disappoints. The ambiance is inviting, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the overall experience keeps me coming back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience!

Sensational. Like all the other Trader Group venues we've visited when in Melbourne the Food, the wine selection, the service is all exceptional. Marion is a "cosy" venue but punches well above its weight if size matters. The front and back of house staff are 100% on their game and if there is a (tiny) error they are prompt and courteous in their rectification. Food - Sensational Wine - Exceptional cellar and Cocktail list with helpful and knowledgeable Somme to assist Staff - every single one is a pleasure to deal with. Very happy to have visited twice in two weeks and looking forward to the next time we are in Melbourne.

I came to Marion for a friend’s birthday lunch and was told I’d be given vegan versions of the set menu. Most of my food was just salad, and when I had to leave early, I was promised a takeaway pasta main and dessert. Instead, I was given a small portion of mushrooms and salad — no dessert. My friends didn’t get dessert either, and when we raised concerns, we were met with excuses. We still paid full price. This was my third time at Marion, but after this experience, I won’t be back or recommending it to anyone.

Worth the trip. I booked this charming wine bar restaurant 4 weeks ago and read a few reviews prior to going. All spoke highly of Marion and we were impressed. From the wine selection which is extensive. The chefs tasting menu was spectacular. Coming in groups of 3 plates it wasn’t overwhelming. The mussels were a huge light for me as they were served cold with lovely cucumbers and a wonderful sauce. Get down under or if you are in the area book and give this golden nugget a try.

Always a pleasure to dine here, consistent on the food and bookings need to be considered. Although you might be lucky to get a table when walking in. The bread and yoghurt are a must, either steaks are cooked well always and the occasional lobster to share is a definite to one to try. Must say it’s been one of my favourite places to go to even with a group of younger kids as they could share with what you have and the French fries with aioli is a must for all ages.

Such a gorgeous venue, matched by the food and service. Due to the tasty looking menu (we wanted to eat everything!), our waiter recommended dishes, and each was a winner. Wonderfully plated, but more importantly delicious! Our GF friend was easily accommodated. Good mix of alc and no/low alc available.

A chic, small, yet vibrant modern restaurant located in the heart of Fitzroy! Once again, we brought our team member to dine here with us as a thank you gesture, and we were honestly proud of our choice. The food is undeniably good and their service is top notch! The friendly staff have impressive skills with carrying the dishes. We ordered quite a lot of food and they did not disappoint! Marion is a great little bar to visit during the day that you can nibble through as you enjoy your wine sipping session. Their wine collection is absolutely CRAZY - come visit and find out yourself!

Good vibe for brunch, lunch or evening wine and tapas. Very creative yet refined menu. Stopped in for a small plate and glass of wine. Great for a group of 6 or less. Order: Chilled mussel salad in a citrus vinaigrette and the BREAD WTH!!! Best bread I've ever eaten. Should've asked what kind it was but if i could eat that bread every day I would! Really good service as well.

All hail the King of Hospo! Andrew McConnel, or A-Mac as I like to call him (as if to imply we are best buddies, which we totally aren't) has done it again with Marion. Serving up an ever changing menu of seasonal tasty plates and a wine list that makes me excited to be alive, Marion is the kind of place I wish was my local. Fitzroy is fast becoming THE wine bar suburb of Melbourne with Bar Clarine, Bar Liberty, Hell of the North and the ever lovable and reliable Enoteca all serving up terrific wine by the glass and bottle along with solid food offerings. If you wanted to you could jump around multiple venues in a night having a glass and a bite at each, a kind of progressive dinner. But back to Marion... it's lovely. The food and wine is top notch but what I really want to tell you about is the service. It's friendly, knowledgable and efficient. Each guest is made to feel special but not fawned over and the pace of the experience is perfectly suited to what you're in the mood for. Up for some wine nerd chat? You've got it! Want to be left alone so you can stare in to your eyes of your beloved? No worries! Want to be told what to order and drink so you can be delighted and surprised? Easy. Waiters who can read what you need, and give it to you, are as rare as hens teeth, but A-Mac attracts some of the best staff in this city and it's always a pleasure to dine in any of his establishments because of this. 5 stars.

What a lovely wine bar! We came here for date night and could not have been more pleased. The service was helpful and attentive and suggested a beautiful wine for us. We ordered quite a few things off the menu and all of the food was delicious, too. Definitely look forward to returning.

Always a lovely experience at Marion, my partner and I chose this place for a relaxing dinner and wine. The staff have great knowledge about their wine and food selection, it's nice to have a trip to another continent for a couple of hours. Highly recommend for any occasion.

Excellent quality wine with a large list plus interesting light food. Minimalist space that can get a bit noisy. Nice addition to the area.

One word, phenomenal. This is from the same restaurant group as Supernormal and Cumulus Inc. Which are by far the best restaurants in Melbourne, CBD area. The food is fantastic, taste and presentation is at the same level as Supernormal. Staff is knowledgeable on the wines and after we tasted three wines we didn't fancy, they suggested one more wine that wasn't on the menu here (they pulled it from the fine dining restaurant next door that is apart of the same group) and the wine was exactly what we wanted. Food was superb. Highly recommended.

Wonderful location, incredible and extensive wine list. Great service- I recommend sitting outside late on a summers day. Expensive - but all of high quality and beautiful glassware.

Once again Andrew is crushing it. Along with his other fine establishments and neighbouring Cutler & Co, Marion is an exceptional and welcome addition to the family. As with the others, this too caters well for the solo diner with exceptional plate value and brilliantly attentative staff. Food was, of course, on point as expected with numerous offerings which tantalized and intrigued. Bonus points for the unhesistant opening of a noteworthy magnum for by-the-glass enjoyment. Definitely added to the ever-growing list of rotating regulars.
