The 38 Best Orange County Restaurants | Eater LA

"The strip mall butcher shop and deli serves pastrami sandwiches layered with beef cured in-house on rye bread. The rotating specials board includes fish and chips, and Cuban and porchetta sandwiches. The smash burger made with beef ground in-house and the pastrami with coleslaw remain the favorites for regulars." - Jenn Tanaka

Orange County’s Best Sandwiches Hide Inside a Strip Mall Butcher Shop - Eater LA

"At first glance, Mario’s Butcher Shop & Delicatessen appears to be a typical neighborhood spot for chops and filets. Inside is the standard grocery deli case, filled with various cuts of grass-fed beef plus poultry, sausages made on the premises, and the occasional hunk of game meat. There are coolers touting a variety of takeout options like pastas, soups, salads, and tamales prepared by the chef’s mother, and another area for sliced-to-order deli meats. Then, there is the sandwich counter. That is where, with casual precision, chef Mario Llamas and his staff prepare some of the most well-crafted sandwiches in Orange County." - Jenn Tanaka

Was excited to try their burger as I heard it's one of the best in the OC. Unfortunately, the place was closed even though the shop's hours say it's open on its Google profile. They put a sign up saying they are closed until September. It would have been considerate of them to update their hours online. For now, the shop gets 1 star, though I'm hopeful that the next time I'm in the OC, I can finally try their food and adjust this review.

The steak sandwich is the best I've ever had. I drive 1 hour from LA just to come get it! It's the only steak sandwich I can order it medium, and it is still super tender. I've had it over 10 times before. On this occasion, while I was eating the first half, the meat was too soft, but I thought maybe just bad cut. I just ate the bread part and spit out the meat. When I looked at the second half, that's when I saw that the steak was almost rare. I went back and tried to explain the situation, but the guy in the front said I ate half already. Told me that if I wanted another one, I would have to pay for it! To the owner of this place. I genuinely think you have the best steak sandwich, but this type of customer service is horrible. It's not about the money as I'm happy to pay for it but how you make me feel. I know you guys are too popular or busy to care, but it's the little things you can do to make things right and keep a customer happy. I don't want free food, I just want what I paid for done right.

As a frequent customer at Mario's Butcher Shop, I can confidently say that I keep coming back just for the outstanding customer service provided by Sandro and Zoe. Every time I walk in, they greet me with warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm, making me feel like a valued customer. Sandro's extensive knowledge of the various cuts of meat and his ability to suggest the perfect selection for any occasion is truly impressive. Whether I'm planning a casual family dinner or a special celebration, his recommendations never fail to impress. Zoe's attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction are equally remarkable. She always takes the time to ensure that my order is exactly as I want it, and she goes above and beyond to accommodate any special requests I might have. Her friendly and professional demeanor makes the shopping experience not only efficient but also enjoyable. Together, Sandro and Zoe create an atmosphere of trust and reliability that is hard to find elsewhere. Their dedication to providing top-notch service is evident in every interaction, and it's clear that they genuinely care about their customers. I highly recommend visiting Mario's Butcher Shop to experience their exceptional service firsthand – you won't be disappointed!

Google
Marios is usually so good, but the service today was straight up horrible. They messed up my sandwich order by putting Mayo on instead of Mustard. When I told them that the order was wrong, the guy at the cash register simply said theres nothing they can do about it?! Sure the line is long, but customer service is customer service. Good thing im not allegric to Mayo- $12 down the drain becuase they did not want to do their job 👎

UPDATE - Food so good I drive 20 miles to have lunch with a friend. The double Big Mac Burger specials is what we order. One order of fries but we're a little older. The burgers, juicy, fresh and flavorful. The sauce a perfect complement with little sour bites of pickle. A gourmet Big Mac elevated in all ways even the bun! The fries thick steak cut crispy on the outside soft in the center. No burned ones a seldom "shorties" like In-n-Out. Fries done in in-house made beef tallow. So much flavor. A canned Coke washes it down fine. Staff have been so nice, the Mgr (Owner) has as well. The meat for sale is exceptional. It is at fair market price so we are waiting for a special occasion. Restrooms inside for customers. Al fresco seating next to street side beside the store. Often packed, a full restaurant is always a good tell. You like burgers? Come for the special on THUR. Or enjoy the deli treats the offer other times. Thanks for the great experience. TIP - Parking can be full, just slowly loop around a space will open. Truly loved it! It is a Butchers Shop too. However we went for the THUR double burger special. It was perfect. The side of steak fries as promised done in beef tallow was enough for two to share. TIP - canned and bottled drinks. They even have Mexican Coke (see pics). The pastrami a guy next to us was having looked awesome. Most sandwiches under 14$, reasonable and comparative to local prices. South side of establishment has a nice patio. Hands down THE best burger I've had in over a decade. Affordable and worth the visit.

Google
I was really looking forward to trying this steak sandwich shop after my friend’s enthusiastic recommendation, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I specifically ordered my steak medium rare, but it arrived well done—overcooked and lacking the juiciness I was hoping for. This really put a damper on my meal, as the quality of the steak is what makes or breaks a steak sandwich for me. Maybe it was just an off day, but I hope the shop pays closer attention to how customers want their steak cooked in the future. Overall, I appreciate the recommendation, but I can’t say I’d rush back unless I knew they’d get the steak right next time

Google
Easily the highest quality meats I've had in OC. The meat here is phenomenal. Came in for lunch, then returned the next day for breakfast. Lunch time was very busy, and for good reason. They carry some great cuts of meat as well as lots of other dinner fixings. Smash burger was best burger I've had in California.

Google
Went to Mario’s butcher and deli on Sunday 6-29-25 I ordered the pastrami sandwich, and french fries. The prices were reasonable comparison to other sandwich shops I found the pastrami sandwich to be fair, but nothing special. The french fries were just average, nothing special, I didn’t like the fact that they do not have fountain drinks and outdoor seating only Overall, I probably would not go there again, Nothing special

Yelp
I can't say enough great things about Zoe at Mario's Butcher Shop. Every time I visit, she goes above and beyond to make sure I leave with exactly what I need. Her attention to detail, friendly attitude, and genuine care for customers make her an absolute gem. Whether it's special cuts, recommendations, or just a welcoming smile, Zoe is the reason I keep coming back. If you're looking for outstanding service and someone who truly knows their craft, Zoe is your go-to person. Mario's is lucky to have her--thank you, Zoe, for always taking such great care of me.

Yelp
Uncle Beef at Mario's Butcher Shop - A Must-Try Burger Experience! I had the absolute best version of a Big Mac-style burger at Mario's Butcher Shop--the Uncle Beef, which is only available on Thursdays. What a perfect way to kick off my trip to Cali! This burger was next-level: two perfectly seasoned patties with crispy, flavorful edges, a sesame seed bun that had the ideal balance of crunch and softness, and fresh, crisp lettuce. The pickles and "secret sauce" brought everything together flawlessly. The fries, cooked in beef tallow, were golden brown, perfectly crispy, and absolutely delicious--so good my 15-month-old, who has a lot of allergies, devoured them. I also grabbed a pickle from the jar at the counter, which was juicy and flavorful, though I prefer mine a little crisper. The macaroni salad from the fridge was another home run--great texture, fresh chopped veggies, and just the right amount of mayo. To top it all off, I had an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie from the jars by the register. They looked hard but had the perfect texture--not too chewy, not too crunchy. And, of course, washing it all down with an ice-cold Mexican Coke was the perfect touch. Beyond the food, the service and atmosphere were excellent. Mario himself was in the shop, handling orders, answering questions, and he even had a tattoo of the different pork cuts on his arm--clearly, he knows his craft. The staff at the register were also super friendly. I would absolutely come back before heading back to NY and hope Mario's is here to stay. This place is a goldmine, and I can't wait to visit again on my next trip to Cali! P.S. I fought the urge twice in January to grab a Big Mac from McDonald's. Glad I held out and satisfied my craving with the Uncle Beef instead--totally worth it.

Yelp
At Mario's Butcher Shop, the deli cases are filled with high-quality cuts of meat and gorgeous steaks. There's a fast moving line that leads to a sandwich counter. The great care and attention to the exceptional meats and fresh ingredients result in incredible sandwiches and burgers. Steak Sandwich: The baguette is a solid vehicle for the wonderful meat. The steak is medium rare (or however you like it) and coated with a zingy chimichurri sauce. The really fresh lettuce and tomatoes add crisp bites between meaty chews. Rib Sandwich: This is an elevated rib sandwich. The pork rib meat is tender and tasty. The pickles and onions add acidity to the mix. And the sticky BBQ sauce sweetens the savory richness. Dining Area: There's a tiny patio area squeezed off to the side of the shop with about half a dozen little tables. You most likely have to take your sandwiches to go. Parking: The little lot is packed to the gills. Be patient and a spot will eventually open up.

Yelp
Just basing this review on the cheeseburger and fries. Perfect, honestly, one of the best cheeseburgers I have enjoyed. It is not pretentious; you just walk in order, and they bring it to your table on the patio. In and done in 20 minutes. Don't change a thing, ever.

Yelp
Monday night dinner: we got here at 515pm and luckily it wasn't too busy! We ordered the must-try's and I must agree!! -"Big dill" sandwich with turkey deli meat: if you like pickles this is for you! Low carbs/keto and salty! I wasn't able to finish half of the "sandwich" bc it simply was too salty for me. The avocado was a nice balance to all the salt! -steak sandwich: you must get this and have it cooked medium rare! Wow!! The steak was so good!! The chimichurri sauce was a nice addition to this skirt steak! -double smashed burger lettuce wrap: solid! I'd eat 10 of these next time! ;) -fries: large cut fries fried in beef tallow!! Crispy and smelled delicious! If you're keto or carnivore this place is for you!! The steak, burgers, and deli meats are just high quality! A plus that they cook using beef tallow! Customer service: nice and friendly staff who are polite on the phone and in person! You do have to wait for your food but it's fresh when it comes out! The shop is nice, bright, and clean. Parking: plenty (at least in the evening)!

Yelp
Parking is a bit of a hassle here so if you can, park on the street and walk over. Inside is sort of like a mini market with fresh to order sandwiches. It looked like all of the seating was outside on a patio which has had zero open seats both times I've been here. Our food was mostly all amazing. In our first visit we ordered the breakfast burrito, steak sandwich, sourdough bread loaf and some hamburgers to grill for dinner. We loved absolutely everything except that I felt the burrito was lacking something, maybe it was the texture, I'm not sure. Flavor was good tho. My kids thought the burger patties are the best we've brought home and we shop at great local butchery's often. Overall, worth checking it out for the meals or meat selection.

Yelp
Delicious sandwiches! We came here on a weekday lunch and it was busy, that's how you know a sandwich joint hits. We of course ordered the smash burger and the steak sandwich. The quality of the burger was insane. One of the better smash burgers around. The steak sandwich was also super tender and I love the chimichurri in it. Also, you can't go wrong with the fries as well since they are fried in beef tallow! There wasn't a lot of seating area on the patio but just make sure to ask around for unused chairs. You may have to squeeze into a small table, especially groups over 3 people. In my experience, the customers were basically locals and they were very friendly.

Yelp
Call ahead for the lunch rush. Pickup window is the same line but moves fast. Friendly reminder their "Big Mac" special is on Thursdays. I came on a Friday and got their smash burger, fries and a Mexican soda bottle. I think their fries are fried in beef tallow bc they tasted exceptional.

Yelp
The best sandwich I've had recently! Saw Mario's pop up on my IG feed and this place lives up to the hype! The pastrami on rye was meaty and I enjoyed the dressing and cole slaw that came with it. Also had the Italian sub, which was loaded with the meats. At ~$15 each, these sandwiches aren't cheap but they will fill you up. Also got a side of fries which were shaped like diner fries to me, and were hot and crispy but soft on the inside. They have a lot of food options, a cold section with sauces, salad, and sides, and a drink fridge. There's a small patio outside where you can dine in and they'll bring out your food to you. Definitely give this place a try.
google avatar

Patience M.

Yelp
Came here specifically for the pickle sandwich and it didn't disappoint. $18 is definitely steep but it was packed full of turkey, my only complaint is that there was too much mustard it was leaking out and the avocado got lost. They have a good selection of drinks. My favorite thing though was the pasta salad with the Italian meats. It was so well seasoned and tasted even better the next day. The parking lot was a nightmare though. Would be better to not come around 12 if you can help it. Service was fast and I loved how they kept the line moving. I will be back in the future to try their other things!

Yelp
I've been here before & they have good quality meat! There's no inside sitting so all seating is outside. My boyfriend tried the smash burger. He got it with bacon which was good! The meat was crispy the way it should be. I think the actual patty could've used more flavor or seasoning. Overall, it was a pretty good smash burger. The fries were good too. I got the spicy Italian - it had a lot of meat which was great! I didn't love the dressing on it though. With Italian sandwiches, I like more of an oil & vinegar dressing. This was a creamy type dressing & the flavor of it was okay. I loved the pepperoncinis in it. They make everything better!
google avatar

Yelp
Woah. Top shelf all around. Butcher showcase filled with incredible quality meats, with a wide variety of cuts and grades available. Pick any cut from the showcase and they'll cook it perfectly to your liking for $9. To-go case has plenty of sides and tasty treats. Grab yourself a deli sandwich or burger, with a side of thick cut beef tallow fries. I went with a Rueben...plenty of tender and salty pastrami that doesn't overpower the senses, with thick sliced pickles, kraut, and Russian dressing with a subtle punch of horse radish. Perfect combination of flavors. Super clean inside. Be prepared to wait a few minutes to order and to get your food. Quality takes time. Seating is only outside and it's generally full at lunchtime.

Yelp
I'm a #'s guy (1-10). Hype via instagram for the Big Dill Pickle sando with Turkey (now on deli menu): 10+. 3 people sent to my feed knowing I'm both a both pickle lover (food not that lol). This viral sando uses a huge dill instead of bread AND has Gods meat - BACON... I'm all in! I set the bar low as most instagram reco's don't meet the hype, but this one hits! Overall: 9 taste, flavor, fun, unique! Messiness 10, 2 large bites then slip fail... so knife, fork and many many napkins. Crowd on a Friday at noon - 9, limited seating 6, but tip: most ordered ahead on website as ~30 minute prep wait. Parking 4 - tough but I got lucky - very busy strip mall near many big biz buildings (aka Google). Tip: Regulars somehow parked behind building or took to go. Value: 5 at $18 but mentally added $5 for pickle part. Fat CC cookie from jar on countertop 6 - crisp, coconut but mine was very light on cc's. Service: 10 - staff working hard, efficient given crowds and friendly! Will I try again: oh ya - 10 but I plan to knock down a smash burger and fries with a giant dill on the side!

Yelp
If you're looking for some good meats or some good cook meats look no further Found this Jim on yelp, and yelp did not let me down on the review of this place. I unfortunately didn't buy any raw meat but from the looks of their selection and the taste of their sandwiches I know that this is high-quality meat. Next time I'm looking for a good filet mignon or a New York steak I know where to go. I had their steak sandwich, and let me tell you the sandwich was amazing. Perfect amount of chimichurri perfectly cooked steak. Everything you want from a sandwich. The bread was soft. It still had a nice crunch on the outside. The best part is that you didn't have to fight against the meat. Once you took a bite , you were fighting to pull away from the sandwich or the other meat that you just took a bite of. It was so tender that it chopped off as soon as you bit down. If you're looking for an amazing steak sandwich or some fine quality meats, this is the place to go. I know I've been back a couple times since my first initial visit I will continue to visit this place.
google avatar

Cindy T.

Yelp
This was my second time having the steak sandwich from here, and it was just as incredible as the first. The sandwich is packed with flavor, featuring tender steak, high-quality ingredients, and their amazing homemade chimichurri that ties everything together perfectly. Service is great, with a wait time of about 10-20 minutes since each sandwich is cooked to order based on your preferences. I'm excited to come back and try their other sandwiches, though I do wish this spot was closer to me--it's worth the trip every time. Highly recommend for anyone craving a delicious, well-made sandwich.

Yelp
I'll start by saying the food is deeeeelish! But boy can this place get BUSY! We showed up and the line was almost out the door. I ended up ordering online instead of waiting in line. They sent a text saying what time our order would be ready, but I didn't get a text saying that it was ready at that time. We checked in 10 mins after the time was sent to us and it looked like the food got made once we checked in (45 mins later). So, that was a little odd. There are also very few tables so we ended up finding a bench and eating there. But, with all of that, I would still 100% come back here. It was a double kind of day. We got two double smash burgers and it's everything you want in a smash burger. We also got a double pastrami sandwich which was delish. Obviously good quality pastrami. Excited to come back and try other things on the menu. And the fries are big enough that two people can share one order. YUM!

Yelp
Uncle Beef only on Thursday. Smash burger rig on Big Mac so much better.. you need a ton of napkins.
google avatar

Ethan N.

Yelp
They put a lot of effort into sourcing quality ingredients, and you can taste the difference. Everything I've had here so far has been excellent. Notable items include the breakfast burritos, French fries, and pastrami on rye--all of which are the best I've ever had. I live out of state but visit frequently, and stopping by here is a must.

Yelp
Working nearby Mario's is both a blessing and a curse as everyday, I need to drive past and make a decision of whether I'm turning in. Mario's gets me at least once a week and it rarely ever disappoints! It's a butcher shop with all different cuts of meat, which is prevalent in all the sandwiches. My favorite items are the Steak Sandwich and Italian Sub mostly because I get those the most, but everything else is delicious too. Their Double Burger and Smash Burger are both super delicious, I recently tried the Pastrami on Rye which was sooo good too. They also have a fridge which has some cold dishes such as macaroni salad, potato salad and if you ever been chimichurri pre-made for a last minute steak dinner, they have that too. The hardest part about going to Mario's is definitely the parking situation. The lot is almost always full if you're going during lunch hours so I usually need to go earlier, or in the afternoon to find a parking spot. There are still so many items that I haven't tried yet. If you're looking for a delicious sandwich for lunch, for a picnic, concert, etc. this is the spot. Will definitely be back again!
google avatar

Joy B.

Yelp
You'll never look at a Big Mac the same once you've had Mario's Thursday special, double smash burger. Grilled to order, crisp and served on a warm bun with minimal frills. I opt for grilled onions instead of raw, so you get that sweet caramelized flavor too. Other than that, The Uncle is crafted to perfection. Service here is always great and with a smile. The wait isn't too look either (depending on the time of day.. lunch hour/ early mornings, practice some patience) Love the quality and freshness of their menu items! This place is a must.
google avatar

Aileen M.

Yelp
Came by after hiking around Crystal Cove for a quick lunch. We ordered from their "what makes us famous" section of the menu - the Italian Sub and the Pastrami on Rye. These are legit deli style sandwiches - fresh deli meat, great bread and made to order. We also ordered fries too, which were on the saltier side, but that doesn't mean we didn't demolish it. You order at the front, find a seat (if you plan to eat there), and wait for your order. Very casual, fun and cool atmosphere. I think I liked the Italian Sub slightly more than the Pastrami, but both were great. I'm coming for the Smash Burger next. FYI parking can be a pain since it's so limited, but def worth the pain.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Been here twice. First time the steak sandwiches were great and we came back. Second time the sandwiches were served with cold meat and the bread was a soggy mess. I think they were busy and the sandwiches must have been sitting for a while before they brought them out to our table. Parking is challenging on weekends as well.
google avatar

Keverne C.

Yelp
Why do you say you serve breakfast all day when both times we've been here we were told they were too busy with lunch orders to make breakfast. Either you serve breakfast all day or you don't! Not to mention how rude your cashier is! They act like they're doing us a favor when we're what's keeping their business alive. We won't be back.

Yelp
Mario's Neighborhood Butcher Shop & Delicatessen boasts a reputation for top-tier sandwiches. While their outdoor patio seating offers a charming lunchtime refuge, the experience left me with a sense of "been there, tasted that." Opting for their crown jewel, the pastrami on rye ($15), I was presented with a classic construction: 5oz of smoked pastrami nestled between slices of rye, dressed with mustard, pickles, coleslaw, and Swiss. The pastrami itself delivered admirable smoky depth. However, the portion size felt woefully inadequate for the price tag. It was a symphony in two bites, leaving me wanting more in a decidedly non-musical way. On the flavor front, Mario's pastrami is certainly competent, but it failed to ignite a chorus of praise on my palate. It resides in the realm of "good," but doesn't reach the operatic heights of the "best" pastrami I've encountered. In conclusion, Mario's offers a decent (though undeniably pricey) take on a classic deli sandwich. If you're seeking a nostalgic lunchtime experience, it might satiate your cravings. But for those on a quest for a truly transcendent pastrami experience, your search may continue.

Yelp
Love love coming here! Everything is amazing with great flavors and quality. Come before the lunch crowd if possible. Frequently ordered smashed burgers and avo egg toast. The pre packaged pasta and other items I'm fridge are also very good.

Yelp
"Big Mac Uncle Beef" is the name of the Burger I went into Mario's for the first time. parking is enough to test the Patience of Jesus. Regardless to seeing a spot a Block or two away take it. It only gets better from there. A must for for Sandwich Lovers. Needless to say I'll be back as early as this week.
google avatar

Victoria S.

Yelp
This deli and market is so cool! There is nice outdoor seating and prepared foods inside. Ordered the steak sandwich, breakfast burrito, and smash burgers. Steak sandwich was phenomenal. So flavorful with the chimichurri! Cooked to liking so might take some time -- we got medium rare. Breakfast burrito was sadly disappointing and small. SO SMALL. I would not get that again. Smash burger was great, especially with bacon. The single was not filling enough but the double was super filling! Wish there was an in between :) All in all, the service was great and the people were friendly. During lunch it can get pretty busy so ensure to find a table! Would def go back for the sandwich and burger.

Yelp
Super high end steaks. They can cook them for you on their grill or you can take them home to cook them yourself. They also make sandwiches with fresh cut deli meats. And they have a fridge full of homemade side dishes. I bought a 1lb Black Opal Ribeye Roll steak to share with my wife. It was pretty good, but next time I'll try one of their 4 other grades of ribeye.
google avatar

Yelp
Great local owner Mario's there behind the counter most every day, welcoming his loyal customers. They offer some of the best sandwiches that you could find along with a great collection of outstanding meats from their high-end butcher shop. The steak sandwich there is incredible, but their daily specials will always be delicious. They got super famous for their Smashburger, which could be the best in Orange County.. Super casual overall outside seating moves fast so that's not usually a problem. Parking sometimes can be. .
google avatar

Naomi S.

Yelp
Drove 40 miles from the Inland Empire to give this a shot and it was okkkk... we had the steak sandwich and chilaquiles sandwich. The bread was perfect and the steak not chewy at all, melting in your mouth but i thought it didn't have much flavor. The chilaquiles sandwich was meh.. nothing special. We also tried their Hawaiian mac and chipotle and house sauce and both were subpar. If im in the area I'll give it a go and try something else but I wont go out of my way again. Nice customer service and a few tables outside to eat and enjoy the nice weather.
google avatar

Ken C.

Yelp
Mario's Butcher Shop is a hidden gem as it features high quality meats in delicious sandwiches. Their steak sandwich is probably one of my favorite sandwiches anywhere. They take a high quality steak and cook it perfectly, topping it with chimichurri sauce and a perfect sesame bun. If you follow their IG, you'll see their daily specials, which features premium meats such as iberico pork, wagyu beef, or a humble burger. Also special are their fries, which are saturated in flavor as you could taste that they've been fried in beef tallow. This place is worthy of five stars because they don't skimp on flavor and quality and you get great value for what they give you.
google avatar

Jay A.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place for awhile. Glad we did! Great service and the good was worth it. I was torn between the steak sandwich or the bologna iteration. Definitely good reason to come back eh? The candied salmon was also quite delish. I would have enjoyed it crunchy or some texture but flavors were spot on. I ended up pouring the salmon in the air fryer for a split second. I also ended up getting the fries but I prefer them skinnier but that's just a preference. Still decent overall. Anyhoo if you're in the area give this place a go. Quite good!

Yelp
Discovered this place recently and came by today to get their Thursday special - Uncle Beef's. Ordered 2 of them for pick up and had to wait about 20 minutes.. there's already a line when I arrived at 11:18am. Found 1 parking spot right out front. The burger was cheesy and delicious. Tastes better than the MacDonalds Big Mac, which is what they were trying to mimick. I'll be back next time to order this when I am craving a Big Mac again; the price is expensive though at $13 each!

Yelp
Had the pastrami on rye and it was pretty delicious. Not overly salty like other nearby places so that was a plus. Fries were good too hot and fresh. Service was quick, they bring the food to you outside. Ambiance was as expected for a sandwich shop. Would def come back and recommend to others

Yelp
My husband was hungry and we were passing by so he ran in and got a smash burger not really ever having eaten here and close to closing but he ate it all in like 5 minutes. Gave it 5/5! He said there were other items offered and we should go back for meatball Sandwich and the fries. Nice clean setting with parking. Plan to return.

Yelp
I came here today for lunch with a couple of friends. This place popped up in my instagram feed and it was their Texas Cheesesteak that sold me. However when I went up to the cashier to order she informed me that the cheesesteak was a specialty sandwich made only on Fridays. The other sandwich I wanted was their Veal Parm which also is specialty sandwich but I didn't ask when it was available. They did have a cubano sandwich special and I ordered that and a side of fries since I'm a fan of cuban sandwiches. My friends ordered the Butcher Burger and Steak Sandwich. We all sampled each other's sandwiches. The Butcher Burger was moist and filling, the steak sandwich was tender and the cubano was tasty and the one I liked the most. The fries were flavorful and made with beef tallow. Overall it was a satisfying experience. I will come back for the Texas cheesesteak. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Mario's Neighborhood Butcher Shop is incredibly popular, so I highly recommend ordering online at least 30 minutes early. The parking lot is busy, reflecting how amazing this place is. The fries are always fresh and crispy. I tried the Reuben, which was packed with flavor, and the steak sandwich, which was good but a bit too chewy for my taste--I preferred the Reuben. The staff is friendly, and there's a small seating area on the side.

Yelp
Photo does not do it justice. Easily the best smash burger I've had since I can remember. It wasn't too fatty and everything tasted very well balanced! I hope to come back here next time I'm in Irvine. I also got fries which were rather thick, but very delicious as well! No line or wait, outdoor seating was comfortable. Chill date spot come for the food, stay to finish the food fresh!

Yelp
This place is still packing on Sunday at 2pm! It's a great place to grab sandwiches before the beach or even sit down. Their steak sandwich is absolutely DELISH. Portions are a bit small, but with fries should be good. It is a little hard to find seating outside, but it's a cute little place that also sells meats too! Would definitely come back for the sammies!

Yelp
I was on a work trip and was looking for a place to eat lunch. I found out about this place from a social media influencer. When I entered the restaurant I was greeted by staff. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered the double smashed burger with bacon. When I took a bite of this burger it was so delicious and juicy. The burger is a great size and very filling. The ambiance is customer friendly. This is a great place for burgers, sandwiches and other deli items. They also sell great cuts of meat.

Yelp
The breakfast burritos are always a banger, I dream about the chipotle dip with bacon and eggs. Limited seating outdoors, but it's fine it's casual dining

Yelp
First time visit. Enjoyed their steak sandwich w/bacon. Delicious, every bite. Steak cooked to perfection and rare as asked. Roll complemented and tied the flavors together! Fry's Ok. Service great! Will be back.

Yelp
Everything here is great so far. Trying that steak sandwich and pastrami sandwich today for the first time. I've had the burger and a couple other deli sandwiches. Friendly staff but the place is busy so be prepared to wait if you order at the counter. I recommend ordering on their website so that you can come in and grab your food quickly.

Yelp
We love the breakfast burritos!! The first time we ordered we didn't know that when you order the burritos you actually get two, so that was a nice surprise. Plan on your order taking at least 15 min, but we have been several times for lunch and breakfast and it's always worth the wait.

Yelp
Great place for a casual quick delicious lunch. Saw this place on TikTok or IG yesterday and happened to be in the area today. We had their smoked double pastrami sandwich and it was out of this world! Meat was perfect (lean the way it should) be with mustard, Cole slaw, and pickle. Service was friendly but fast! We will definitely put this on our list of go to lunch stops whenever in the area!

Yelp
Been trying to look for a solid sandwich place and I think I've found the spot! The shop is quite small in a plaza with many other shops. Surprisingly, parking was quite difficult on a Friday at 2pm. We ordered three sandwiches and ate on their little patio outside the shop. We got the Steak Sandwich, Pastrami on Rye, and the Reuben. My personal favorite was the Reuben! It had so much flavor and the dressing was delicious. It reminded me of the Katz sandwich in NY. The Pastrami on Rye had good pastrami but the sandwich was just a little bit dry. The Steak Sandwich was solid, but just missing a little something. The shop was crowded and every seat was taken, but we luckily got a seat while a party was leaving. There was also a line after we ordered! The sandwiches took a little while but I assumed because it was busy. Overall, this place is a must try and I'd definitely come back to try the other sandwiches!

Yelp
Worthy deli in OC. The real-deal. Counter style service with outdoor table seating. The service team is prompt, speedy, and polite. I caved to my intermittent Rueben craving w a side of fries (I read a media source that they use beef tallow for their frying, so I had to taste). Convenient to SNA and def a stop on future SoCal/OC projects.

Yelp
To start, parking during rush hour for lunch on a weekday was not the greatest. I had to go around the parking lot a few times before finding a parking spot just to pick up my phone order. The spot itself is really welcoming and you see all the quality meats as soon as you step in. You order from the cashier counter and pick up your food. They have tables set up outside for you to eat which looked like a really cute date spot. We had ordered the: Steak sandwich (medium) -9/10 the meat quality was great. The proportions of meat to bread was perfect. I just wish the sandwich was bigger. Italian sub - 7/10 it was very salty to my liking but that's due to the amount of salami they put in the sandwich. The bread was crisp on the outside and there was a good amount of sauce, however, I wouldn't get this again.
