"Everyone in Vallarta knows 8 Tostadas because it’s the top place in town to get ceviche. There are multiple locations in the bay, but the one in La Marina is a great meeting point—it’s a laid-back spot that’s perfect for lunch where you’ll find families, friends, couples, and people eating solo. The smokey marlin tostada and a cold michelada should be your first order, but definitely consider adding on the shrimp quesadillas and extremely fresh tuna sashimi. If you’re heading out for a boat ride from the marina, the ceviche is an excellent to-go snack." - debora mestre

Google
Cash only seafood restaurant. I ordered mejillones, a bit overcooked but had some flavor. The pulpo and beef were fine. Flan was a favorite. Service was efficient.

Google
My go to seafood place...best marlin tostada's anywhere...shrimp cocktail always makes me happy...today the red snapper was cooked to perfection..sit at the bar for the best service.

Google
I stopped in for a light dinner and a cocktail and decided to try the red snapper sashimi special. The generous portion of fresh snapper paired perfectly with the local Asian fusion marinade—it was absolutely delicious. The margarita was excellent as well! We have returned for lunch and sampled a variety of dishes, including the tostada de ceviche, tostada de marlin, guacamole, shrimp tacos, dorada sashimi, shrimp tiradito, and chicken nuggets. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared, making for a delicious meal.

Google
Great restaurant, the marlin empanadas were so good, We got a 2nd order to go! The aguachile is not for the feint of heart, it is spicy 🥵. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious and the staff was very attentive. It's definitely a go-to spot when we are in the area.

Google
This place is 10 out of 10. I ordered two tostadas. One was fresh caught tuna and the other marlin. My partner ordered agua chiles con verde sauce. Warning: if you don’t like spicy don’t order that dish. The staff was friendly and attentive. Enjoyed this place so much and will 100% come here again! Gracias!!

Google
We were recommended to check this place out and it did not disappoint!! It was busy but we only waited 10 minutes. It does not have an ocean or marina view but the food makes up for it. Not for the weak when it comes to spice though! The aguachile verde was our favorite. Eat it with saltines and the spicy mayo.

Google
Ceviche, Camarones & Pasta, Mexican plate were all very good. Atmosphere very good. Never crowded, we don't know why. Beter than Eddies which is always crowded

Google
The food is good, and portions are descent. This restaurant not closed of and no AC, open to the elements. A cold ceviche & cold drink was very welcomed.

Yelp
We love this place! Such fresh wonderful food! And great service! We had tuna tostada, which is sort of like poke on a tortilla. Then shrimp and octopus ceviche-such tender octopus! I saw empanadas coming out of the kitchen so we ordered those. Good, but way too much food for 2! We will be back to order less! It is cash only

Tanaya N.

Yelp
Meh. Went with high expectations reading the 5 star reviews. It was ah-ok. Margarita was a miss for me. Too syrupy and sweet. Hardly any kick from alcohol. Felt like a slushy even though it was on the rocks. Our server was good, but the place is busy so order takes upto 25mins to come out. Until then you can snack on the tostadas. Fish and coconut shrimp was good. But the crab tacos and empanadas felt so dry. Ambiance is cool like a shack and they have plenty of seating. Expect a long wait even around 4pm in touristy season. I liked the place, like any other average seafood restaurant. I would say try it for sure, but it might not be a 5star experience. Also remember it's a cash only place.

Yelp
If you love tostadas then this spot in Puerto Vallarta might be for you. It offers a variety of tostadas from shrimp, fish, clams, scallops, and octopus or you can have the combination tostada, which has them all. I ordered two combination tostadas. They were good but fell a bit short of my expectations. They lacked both flavor and seasoning, however, the portions were generous and they were reasonably priced. I also ordered a dish called, Filete Zarandeado, (fish), which, had some flavor but I did find it overly salted. Unfortunately, the food here was just ok and not great. In fairness, since this was my first time here coupled with the several prior positive reviews from my fellow yelpers, I plan on giving it another try on my next visit to Puerto Vallarta.

Michael U.

Yelp
With several locations in Puerto Vallarta Mariscos 8 Tostadas is considered by many to be a "must visit," the space in La Marina proving especially popular thanks to a large seating area plus friendly service and fair prices. In direct view of the Ocean, a full bar pouring Micheladas and Palomas for guests en route to their boats, nearly every choice can be counted on for freshness whether Aguachile bright with Citrus, chopped Fish Tostadas or Tacos piled high in smoked Marlin Meat.

Audrey L.

Yelp
My favorite place to visit in Puerto Vallarta! It was so nice to come back and eat at Ocho Tostadas. The basil pineapple drink is my favorite drink. It was a super hot day and this drink is so refreshing. For the meal, I ordered an ahi tuna tostada, marlin pate tostada, and a gobernador taco. Everything was beyond delicious! The service is always great and never any wait since the restaurant has tons of seating. I love how decorative it is with paintings on the walls and the old school license plates. Can't wait for another trip to come back and eat here!

Yelp
A great local seafood restaurant! Food: Had the grilled mahi-mahi with rice and a salad. The mahi-mahi was perfect and served hot. Rice and salad were good. Tried the crab enchiladas, and they were a bit dry and just ok. Drinks: all sorts of drinks and beer available Service: Good service Value: overall good value for PV Misc: (1) cash only, (2) Closes at 6:00 p.m. (3) From the Westin to Mariscos Ochao Tostadas is 1.15 miles. It's a bit of a walk but worth it.

Yelp
Found this on our last day. This place is hopping and filled with locals, luckily sat by one who was very helpful in helping us order. Great ceviche, fun people watching, sat at a bar watching them prep and serve. They work hard and put out a lot of great looking food. Worth the wait in line!

Tim J.

Yelp
Great food. I got the empanadas ( Marlin and crab). I'm not a huge seafood person, but both of them were great. Super busy restaurant, but everyone was very nice.

Caitlin Y.

Yelp
4 stars for food, 2.5 for service Food was very tasty, tostada chips tasted fresh and had an excellent crunch without being too oily. Strawberry margarita was delicious and ceviche verde with fresh lime and chips was excellent as was the piñada drink and shrimp tacos. Ambiance was fairly busy for 2pm on a Tuesday. Overall seemed to have nice vibes with a mix of families and a few smaller and larger groups seated. Despite having at least a dozen or more front of house staff with at least as many back of house (between the bar and kitchen) it took a long time to order though we were seated very promptly. Tried to wave a couple of people down, but it was hard to tell who was a waiter and who was just bussing tables. Finally ordered drinks and food at the same time. Ceviche came first followed by drinks maybe 10 mins after. We had asked about the order of 3 shrimp tacos were getting ready to cancel the order and leave when they finally came. Overall we almost left, once for the long wait for a server, and again for the long wait on the taco order. Server interaction was not bad during the sparse interaction we had with him.

Yelp
This is at the end of the Marina and I promise is worth the walk. It is cash only place. Food: complimentary toast Al and some sauces were provided. The onions marinaded in some black sauce was very crunchy and delicious on the tostado while we waiting on our main dishes. My husband order grilled fish plate of mahi mahi. my husband food arrived early and I was happy that food is served when prepared so his food was temperature hot and my food was temperature hot even though I had to wait a bit longer, 10 minutes, no biggie. I ordered the crab enchiladas. The crab was very fresh and hand picked, I had a few thin shell pieces from the leg of crab that I picked out not a big deal. The enchiladas were packed full of crab and the sauce oh my delicious! It had a slight kick and by the end I was a bit sweaty by the spice. The only issue I had was the crab was dry and flavorless and really needed something other than sauce on top. If they would have mixed some sauce with the crab it would have been better and moisten the crab and enhance the crab flavor. Service: decent service. We have limited Spanish and our first waiter gave up on us and he found an English speaker. This place gets packed. They are so busy, it took us awhile to get our bill. Washing station: using the washing station to clean my hands to have complimentary tostado and sauces. The menus were filthy and I did not want to eat anything without washing my hands.

Yelp
Great service, good food, good price. I had coconut shrimp, they were gianormous and so tasty! Hubby had fried fish, really good, we were so full we thought we were going to have to be wheeled out! Stop in..crawl out with your belly dragging on the ground!

Yelp
The best seafood we've had in Puerto Vallarta. Just located really close from the airport. A perfect spot to stop by when you arrive. The restaurant itself is quite big with many tables and bar seats. It's outdoors but with good shade and fans on. The menu is quite large with everything sounding delicious and fresh. Started off by ordering our coconut drinks. Coconuts were cold and fresh tasting. For appetizers we started with the shrimp empanadas and guacamole. The guacamole with chips was savory and a good side to add to your entree. The shrimp empanadas were cheesy and crispy. The entree order was a fried snapper. The entree comes with a side salad and rice. It also comes with a green salsa/dip that made the dish taste good. The green salsa was not spicy. The tables have a house made mix that you can add to the food. Our server also told us about a a salsa that was on the table called Karapoa from Sinaloa, MX. He mentioned that they just received the salsas here and taste great on the seafood. He wasn't wrong, that specific salsa on top of the snapper and rice made the dish shine. We were too full after eating all this food or else we would've also ordered the fried plantains dessert. The staff was great and were checking on our table frequently. They gave us good recommendations on some food items.

Denise C.

Yelp
Chef Eddie served us an outstanding grilled red snapper dinner ! And waiter Orlando was so nice ! Would go back here ten more times !!

Mya T.

Yelp
This place has good reviews and for a reason. Had late lunch after ziplining and the place was packed but we were seated right away. There was live music playing and the band went around asking for requests as well. Our waiter was really attentive and delivered our drinks and food pretty fast. I ordered a mangada and conga and they were refreshing for this hot day. We did a half order of the shrimp and octopus ceviche, camarones cucaracha, shrimp empanadas, marlin empanadas, and crab empanadas. nice balance of meat and cheese and fried to perfection. I cannot wait to come back and try more of their menu.

Martin L.

Yelp
Outstanding food and service. Very busy location in Marina Vallarta. Best to time your visit after lunch and before dinner. If you like seafood, you can't miss with Ocho Tostada.

Hannah McCool ..

Yelp
My favorite place to eat in Puerto Vallarta! Food never disappoints, and the service cannot be beat. They always go out of their way to make sure our entire table (large group) has everything we need without being overbearing. I wish we had one in the US.

Jen A.

Yelp
Amazing local ceviche. Super spicy salsas!! Fun, family-friendly atmosphere. Quick service!

Don E.

Yelp
If you like shrimp this place has some of the best in puerto Vallarta, you won't go wrong here. It's not the easiest place to find but worth the edfort

Sandy B.

Yelp
Greeted by hostess as soon as we walked up and sat immediately. They do warn you that they only take cash, to include US $. They also squirt your hands with sanitizer before sitting you. All staff are wearing masks. Most of the staff speaks at least enough English to get by. They are all so friendly. Great seafood options. Full bar. They are constantly making fresh guacamole and ceviche. They wiping and sweeping nonstop.

Yelp
BEST CEVICHE IN PV! If there's anywhere to explore for food while you're vacationing here, it's this place. We got the raw shrimp with octopus. Crab empanada without cheese - it's good! Jammed packed with crab meat. Worth a try! Governor shrimp taco - this was good but didn't knock my feet off. Aguachile with fish - I liked this the least. A bit too bitter for me and the fish didn't do much.

Chief K.

Yelp
I wanted to try this place for about a year and finally did. Menu is huge and there is something for everybody.... I'm a raw food fan (roulette, I know)... better half is a coconut shrimp fan (or anything not fish related but cooked). Portions and prices are good. Friendly staff. Parking in this area sucks because it's a popular marina attraction with lots of other shops and restaurants. I would definitely come here again. Delicious and didn't make me run to the potty code 3.

Megan R.

Yelp
Me and hubby stopped here, we were craving Mariscos right away after landing in Pv. Place was recommended by our Uber... it did not disappoint! We ordered 2 micheladas to start, they were great.... We ordered callo - it was amazing! Then we ordered the house ceviche tostadas - they were okay... but then we ordered the aqua Chile with shrimp and oh baby probably the best Agua Chile I've met. Service was great too, & place was cute! 10/10 recommend!

Julie F.

Yelp
Great for seafood. All the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked excellent. I will be back next trip! In

Lillie M.

Yelp
We visited for the first time with friends and were looking around for an authentic place to eat. We immediately noticed a ton of locals eating here. Everything we ordered was delicious! We ordered: 1. Crab Empanada - Pretty good, tons of crab inside 2. Shrimp tostada - Packed meat and shrimp 3. Shrimp taco - Tasty and flavorful 4. Crab Enchilada - Rich, creamy, and tons of crab! 5. Shrimp Ceviche (Cooked Shrimp) - So fresh and flavorful 6. Grilled Octopus - Perfectly grilled, great portion! 7. Fried fish - Great appetizer, perfectly fried If you're visiting, definitely come here and give it a try!

Danny G.

Yelp
Place was really nice and convenient as we were staying next door. It's next to a turtle sanctuary so that was nice. Ceviche was pretty good. Service was great too.

Chris N.

Yelp
Dine local! In a town with lots of tourist spots, it was nice to find a little oasis that served great food and provided great service. The grilled octopus was excellent as was the shrimp diabla. We topped off our meal with the fried plantains and strawberries- which was "lick the plate" delicious. While the restaurant was very local, the staff spoke English, so we felt comfortable ordering with our limited Spanish. This is a true gem in Puerto!

Jay G.

Yelp
Talking to the local workers we were told this is a place not to miss and they were right! This is place where a lot of locals go and it's clear why. First, their salsa is unlike anything you would consider salsa if you have not been here. Huge pile of marinated onions and jalapeños chopped and sitting their soy based sauce. This is not your chopped tomato salsa. It was great and had a kick that lingered a few minutes. We started with the shrimp and octopus ceviche which could of been a meal all by itself. The fish was so fresh and it's clear this place is a ceviche house like no other. They do have a few cooked items but this is really for ceviche. Next we had the scallop special. It was around 250 pesos or 13.00. Price varies with the market on this dish so if you care about price you need to ask. The scallops were double the size of a golf ball, just massive. They are brought in daily and you could taste a little of the ocean with each bite. Slightly salty but very sweet and tender. These are the largest scallops I have ever seen and it was well worth the price which frankly is a bargain for 8 giant scallops. This too was like an entire meal. For the main course if that was not enough I had the crab enchiladas with a cream chipotle sauce that was fantastic. 3 enchiladas wrapped in soft corn tortillas stuff with a lot of crab. I would order these any time of day they were so good. The sauce was light, not thick and was almost all absorbed into the tortilla and crab by the last bite. The last dish we shared were the shrimp empanadas. These were the biggest empanadas ever. Stuffed with shrimp and cheese these were fantastic as well. We had these grilled and not fried to be a bit healthier. I would put this on your do not miss list if you are at the Marina in PV, Jalisco. 5 stars all the way The song selected for this review is Tears For Fears "Fish Out Of Water".

Derek B.

Yelp
Best meal I had the whole time I was in PV! Let me tell you, if you are looking for seafood, here is the spot. Especially after having an epic case of the upset butt, I needed something to settle my bowels! One major reason why I am giving them 5 stars is their restroom. I stayed at a crappy hotel (had to be crappy before I got there) and had not taken a peaceful poo until I use their restroom. Internet access, a breeze from the window and a fan facing the toilets. Needless to say, I almost fell asleep. Great times!

Candace S.

Yelp
We ALWAYS eat here a number of times when we are in PV! One of the best local seafood restaurants available. Cash only. It closes early so don't dillydally! Reasonable prices outstanding menu, full of locals Excelente!

Joan Y.

Yelp
Oh my gosh. I came here twice because the shrimp tacos and empanadas were just HEAVENLY. The shrimp tacos are STUFFED with shrimp! So so so good and filling. Empanadas are so good as well. Highly recommend you try these! I also tried the crab enchiladas, but wasnt a huge fan. I did not enjoy the sauce that they pour on top of the enchiladas, as it was a bit overwhelming for me. I also tried the seafood tostada, which was pretty good. Im not a huge fan of ceviche though, but I saw a lot of locals get the ceviche here, which seems to be what this restaurant is known for! The restaurant was packed both times with locals! Thats how you know that the food is good! This is a MUST TRY restaurant, definitely come give their shrimp tacos a try!

Lily Z.

Yelp
We came here twice during our stay in PV. It's pretty close to our hotel and our scuba diving instructor recommended it. During our two visits, we ordered shrimp tostada (crunchy and fresh shrimp), ceviche tostada (he preferred this over the shrimp but I in reverse), half and full order of oysters (they give you a plate of oyster meat with red onions and cucumber on top) that is deliciously briny, crab empanadas (full of crab meat and perfectly crispy), octopus tostada (very tender octopus meat, although idk if I cared enough about the accompanied sauce? Not exactly sure what it was), crab enchiladas (not a fan of sauce all over my food but the boy ordered it), shrimp Aguachile (similar to the oyster order but with green chile so it's a little spicy), shrimp quesadilla (great!), and shrimp gober style (shrimp with garlic butter). All in all, it's a great meal if you're in the area. Cash only. Service can be a little spotty.

Eun H.

Yelp
Unfortunately, they weren't so good that I wanted to return. Walked 12 minutes from Marriott to try Mariscos Ocho. Service was good and food came out promptly. Ordered seafood tostada and octopus & shrimp ceviche. It was good but nothing wow worthy. Price is moderate. Went around 5pm but the place was pretty crowded. Was seated right away and food came out quickly. So everything else was pretty satisfactory just that the food was not memorable.

Josh Giosue D.

Yelp
This place hit the spot. We came here about three times during our short stay. Everything was great, but the thing that stood out the most was the grilled octopus, it was absolutely delicious. I also recommend the scallops ceviche and their shrimp & octopus ceviche. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

NEIL G.

Yelp
Had an excellent lunch here in December - it's down a small road and away from a major local street and it felt more like a locals place to eat. We'll be back during our next visit in May.

Nikkeya M.

Yelp
Another Vallarta Vacay Favorite!!! I loved the set up and atmosphere of this place. Everything is relaxing but at the same time so quick and efficent! I ordered a beer and some marisco soup. The soup comes out bland and white but on the table is all your condiments chiles abd sauces. So you can customize to your liking! Cannot wait to return!

Cynthia V.

Yelp
This is the spot in the Marina if you are searching for seafood. The taxi driver recommended this restaurant on our drive from airport to hotel in Marina. We wanted to eat with the locals!! We came here twice during our stay in Puerto Vallarta. The atmosphere is casual, friendly staff and have reasonable prices.

Yi Z.

Yelp
I was in the mood for a seafood lunch and after a quick search, I found Mariscos Ocho Tostadas. The restaurant is fairly large and has a great selection of seafood options. At first, I was dining by myself and I got a feast for one - half order of green ceviche, one shrimp empananda, and one quesadilla with corn tortilla. My favorite was the quesadilla. I'm not sure I like the doughiness of the empanada or how tart the ceviche ended up tasting. That could be a personal preference though. I also ordered a tasty pina colada. All in, it cost about 250 pesos.

Janice N.

Yelp
A nice Mexican restaurant a few blocks off the highway. Delicious food and lots of variety. The meals have always been hot when served and very tasty.

Diane A.

Yelp
This was my favorite restaurant in Puerto Vallarta. It's within walking distance to any hotel in the marina. We tried a variety of things, but my favorite by far was the gobernador shrimp tacos. So delicious. They also have some spicy and flavorful salsas. I don't think you'll be unhappy with anything you order. The service was also very quick and friendly. There were a lot of servers nearby to bring food and drinks. We never had to wait for anything. Just know that they ONLY TAKE CASH. They did accept US dollars too.

Rn D.

Yelp
Great food, great atmosphere, friendly stuff, awesome price! Everything we imagined for our Mexico trip first time @PV! I'd only give four stars because they only take cash$.

Winnie T.

Yelp
I would have given this place 10 stars. We found this place right by the condo. We have been eating here almost every other day. Their seafood are fresh, amazing environment and staffs. Prices are very reasonable. All locals eat here. Super clean and friendly. The only problem is, they close at 6:00pm.

Andrew D.

Yelp
Shrimp ceviche was awesome as was kids fish and chips and the BIG cocktails. We waited about 90minutes to sit but it was worth it. Staff were great and the free digestiv and plantains were a nice cap to a great experience.

Roy r.

Yelp
Great location and fresh seafood where the locals aré enjoying this open air location

Marcos J.

Yelp
Favorite seafood place here amazing cocktails yum also the ceviche was good too the service was fast and good so good

Javier a.

Yelp
Great food and service. Chicharrones de pescado is a must.

Stefanie E.

Yelp

Crystal R.

Yelp
Ocho Tostadas were one of the best seafood restaurants we tasted in Puerto Vallarta. We stood in Puerto Vallarta for 9 days and arrived to this place 4 times. I ordered different plates on each of those occasions and all of them were great. My favorite plate though was quesadillas de camarones and camarones al ajo. So delicious and well cooked. The service here is even better. You get seated fast, they take your order fast and try their best to get your food out even faster. That's always a bonus!! Oh and you must taste their sauce it was amazing with the shrimp!!! Love Ocho Tostadas

Marty L.

Yelp
Best seafood in the city. Crowded, lots of waiting but worth it. The seafood is fresh and the service better than average. Reasonably priced.

Jessica B.

Yelp
Remember to bring cash here. They don't accept credit cards. This place was packed when we arrived. The ambiance is casual and the food is delicious. Make sure you have a marlin tostada! I had a cucumber water and it was one of the best I have ever had. The restaurant is clean, bathrooms are clean. The only negative I can say is there are vendors outside of the restaurant selling toys. The noise is annoying. The toy is a monkey banging a drum and you hear this very loudly in the restaurant.
