If you want someone of the best Mexican Mariscos and fusion food this is the spot! Portions are huge and flavor is out of this world! You will have to come back many times because the menu has too many delicious looking plates to offer! Kid friendly and wonderful atmosphere.

Great good. Specially if you’re looking for a good pick-er upper after a good night out.! This place has great food too get you feeling alive again! Romy was great at explaining specials! And Daniela makes the best drinks she recommends 408 Sunday delicious 🤤

This place did NOT disappoint. Stumbled here by accident going to another place. Food is absolutely authentic and delicious 🤤 Came here right before closing so not sure of a wait time during the day. The atmosphere is good and definitely a vibe! The posole was delicious with real homony as well as the flour tortillas🤤 All the food including the drinks were just bomb! In town visiting from out of state but I will DEFINITELY 👍🏽 be back if I ever come back to San Jose again! Now my expectations are high for other places because of this place. The restrooms were clean and limited to 2. Groups of 6 or more has a gratuity included in the bill. All staff was very attentive with a good attitude 👍🏽🥰

The fish taco and shrimp taco were excellent—fresh and flavorful. The ceviche was just okay, nothing special. Unfortunately, the sushi was disappointing and not something I’d recommend. Parking can be difficult to find, but the service was friendly

This place is vary delicious. Seafood is the best I have had hands down. Just be aware that the parking is vary hard to find here and the line to this place are out the door, it's worth the wait trust me! My family and i waited about an hour till we got seated. We were attended by Marichuy, and she was by far the best server we could have. She explained what each dish had and what she recommended. This place is the Vibe music going and even had a photographer taking pics and printed them for you. I recommend you enjoy a birthday here it's popen !

Nice place and the decore is so México, the service was good. Let’s talk about food…. I got a bit of everything. The asada taco meet got a good flavor, the tortilla was really good, but it came with no cilantro or onions and the salsa was ok. The same for the Al pastor taco the flavor of the pork was good along with the tortilla but again no cilantro and no onions, I wonder if I had to ask for cilantro and onions or this is the standard. Do not order the sushi very comercial flavor and only tasted the rice of the 6 dollar special roll. The juice in the cup was very good and it was free along with the tostada, +++ I felt that I needed to add onions or lime juice. Finally the chicharrones were very good, fresh and crunchy but the avocado was not fresh and it was brown on the surface. I look to order more of the juice in the cup but I do not believe is an option.

This was my first time at this restaurant after seeing an instagram reel about $6 Sushi Wednesdays. My sister and I are from out of town so being that we were in the area I wanted to try it. All the food looks really delicious and I really appreciate that all the menu items have pictures! We got a free appetizer which I thought was going to be chips and salsa, but it turned out to be a tostada and consume. My sister and I were under the impression that we could order as many sushi orders from any the plates of the sushi menu but this is not the case. You can only order one plate per person for the $6 deal, AND it could only be the “sushi California” or “sushi costero” AND you have to order a drink, which there are no fountain drinks, and small glass bottle coke was $4.50. The food was good and filling but the manager actually checked on our table more than our waitress after I wasn’t able to call over the waitress when not busy or not being able find the waitress.

The dishes were delicious, definitely a place I would return to. The seafood molcajete was super tasty. The waitress was a bit distracted, but the rest of the staff was very friendly and attentive.

Discovering the Real Variety of Mexican Cuisine Before, I used to think Mexican food was just tacos, burritos, and nachos. But after moving to the South Bay, I realized there's so much more to explore. This restaurant really opened my eyes. The atmosphere is great, with a relaxed but lively weekend vibe. I went around lunchtime and there was already a short line forming. People were enjoying drinks by noon, which made the place feel festive and social. I don't drink, so I ordered a virgin mojito instead and it was surprisingly refreshing. Perfect balance of mint and lime, and a great match for the bold flavors of the food.

Love this place, their food is excellent and keeps you coming back for more! But I do have one major issue with their drinks. Their mixed drinks are super small for the price so stick to their micheladas and beer if you want good value.

This is a no frills absolutely stellar spot to get Mariscos! Come with a group and try it all, we enjoyed so many things especially the oysters! When it's warm sit outside and enjoy the live music.

This is a staple spot in SJ if you like mexican food. Their michelada is the best I've ever had, not too thick from the sauce and it maintains the refreshing beer flavor. They had a mariachi band while I was there which really livened up the mood during the rain. All the servers are always very nice and friendly.

Food is amazing! I love the quesadillas, so flavorful! Also loved molcajete mixto, so so flavorful and bunch of meat in it. The tamarind margarita was delicious! There were also vendors selling keychains and small goodies. I just wish the place could be more quiet, the performance was great, just too loud to have any conversation with friends there.

First timer & definitely a returning customer moving forward - service was great ! Super fast and attentive - Everything we ordered was great. We have zero complaints - It's such a family friendly environment also which was pretty nice - Parking was a little tough but it's also Mother's Day and a Sunday morning so its a given - Nonetheless I highly recommend

My SO found this place and it was top tier The parking lot is a bit rough though. So find street parking in the neighborhood if the lot is full. There's extensive seating in the restaurant. We sat inside and got a medium pineapple agua fresca and a large passionfruit agua fresca. It was a wednesday so there was a special to get a roll for $6 after the purchase of a drink. The passion fruit one was delicious ~ The sushi was surprising and had shrimp, avocado, cream cheese and rice. They were fried so it had a pleasant crisp. I got an al pastor burrito. The onions were caramelized and delicious, however the taste was not what I had expected and it seems burritos are not the thing to get here. We had also gotten the other burrito and it tasted slightly better. The shrimp soup was delicious and made very well with fresh shrimp and several spices. They gave toastas with small cups of soup with a shrimp in it as a conplimentary snack too~ Delicious Overall, the food is amazing here, just dont get the burritos.

Came here for the first time with friends and wanted to explore the extensive menu after reading so many good reviews. The vibe was very lively with on and off live music. We got seated within 10 mins and server came to us decently quickly in the beginning. We placed an order for drinks and for kids first and then waited a long time to order for adults as the server was nowhere to be seen for a while. She was probably very busy as the place was pretty packed. We ordered some Gauc and chips in the beginning followed by mains as salmon and fish tacos. My friends ordered a shrimp dish and one of them opted for a custom vegetarian taco plate. This being heavily seafood focused it was tough for them to scoop up a tasty veg dish. My friend found it ok - he didn't love it so much. The rest of the dishes were good. The vibe was lovely and we felt like we were in Mexico :)

I love coming to this place whenever I'm craving Mariscos, I got their new ceviche la guerita, it may seem like your typical ceviche cooked in lime juice, but this one has chile chiltepi which gave it a different taste and that shaved jicama was top tier. Tacos capeados were filled with plumped battered shrimped and loaded with melty cheese just how I like it. The fish was huge couldn't even finish the whole thing, a hefty plate to fill you up if you're extra hungry. Of course the micheladas were refreshing and always on point especially with those shrimp. This place does tend to get super busy, but it's well worth it, service is amazing and if you want to celebrate your birthday here they'll put on a show for you! If you love micheladas like I do, come during the week they have specials, the only bad thing is the specials don't apply during a holiday.

Great spot for a birthday lunch! I called ahead for a part of 6 but they said no reservation was needed. They do ask your whole party be there to be seated, but they were kind to seat us while 2 stragglers showed up. There's a small parking lot, otherwise you'll have to find street or neighborhood parking nearby. They had some great menu options it was hard to pick! Loved that they brought complimentary consume (shrimp not meat based) to sip on. Food and drinks were great and they staff gave a special birthday song as well

The service was great. Food had lots of flavor. They have the best tostadas I've ever tasted. We ate outside under the large canopy. The outdoor seating is spread out nicely so you aren't close to any other tables or chair. Parking is a challenge. Tiny parking lot and crowded curb parking.

Food was good service can say enough and our waitress "Michelle" very tentative definitely will come again meet owner and humble as can be very profesional. 10 out of 10 all around. I came with my family on a freezing Sunday for lunch and, let me tell you, we appreciated the outdoor heaters! Upon being seated, we were each served with a delicious cup of caldo de camaron. This was a great touch! I ordered the shrimp ceviche, which was fresh and delicious. Great service by Romi, too! We'll be back to try one of their great deals during the week!

Amazing food. That's all this review really needs. Crazy, huh?! You can find this amazing taco spot in the San Jose area. You may question the actual area when you get there, but get over yourself and grab some of these perfectly made street tacos. They made the way street tacos are intended. The meat is well marinated and seasoned, perfectly grilled, and the portions are incredibly generous. I tried the Carnitas, the pollo, and the Carne Asada, and I'm here to say that it's damn delicious! I think my favorite thing outside of the fact that I wanted to eat more even after I was full, as that, I love the side dish that they provide so that you can load up your tacos with fresh onions, cilantro, lime, and a variety of salsas that they have . It's all house made, and my mouth is watering just thinking about how delicious each taco was. I ate too much, and it was absolutely worth it.

We've been coming to this restaurant for couple of years... Ambiance varies on time of day/weekday you visit. Food is always good and fresh. Service is always prompt and outstanding, on our last visit our server Romy was very attentive and cheery! Giving it 4 stars because there's a foul stench from parking lot that occasionally you get a whiff while eating.

I heard lots of good things about the seafood here so my friend and I decided to stop by because we were craving seafood. You get a complimentary tostada, a soup, and crackers. Food: 10/10 I have never seen a restaurant with SO many ceviche options before! We were torn between which one to order but we opted for the ceviche Camaron. We also got the empanadas de Camaron and tacos Marlin. Our favorite was the empanadas de Camaron! We almost burnt our hands and mouth because the cheese was melting and it was hot but it was worth it because it tasted AMAZING! The Marlin tacos were a bit salty for our liking. The ceviche was very flavorful and fresh tasting and it paired well with the tostada. There were lots of unique ceviche options here! Service: 10/10 The workers are very friendly and encouraged us to get the weekday special on a Miche Monday, but we will come back next time for it! Ambiance: 10/10 The restaurant is nice and decorated with outdoor seating and indoor seating. There's street parking near the restaurant. I want to come back to try the Mexican sushi or the molcajete next time!:D I HIGHLY recommend this spot for a fulfilling meal and they have weekday specials too!

Amazing food! Mirna was a great server. She attended us really well and made sure we never had anything missing. Overall, great place to come and eat with family and friends.

Been here a few times, always busy and lively atmosphere. We love all their caldos and menudo, tried molcajetes for the first time and its my absolute favorite now. Drinks are on point and they don't skimp out on liquor. They even sang for us and gave us 2 shots, (we were celebrating 2 birthdays) our waitress Sarita was very friendly and attentive even during full-house. 10/10 absolutely recommend. +1 for Huge portions with homemade tortillas -1 for horrible parking situation. I'd hate to live around in the neighborhood with this joint's popularity.

Tacos Presidenciales $17 - good. My favorite item. I usually get fried rather than grilled shrimp or fish tacos but this was really good. Shrimp was tender and all the ingredients in the taco went very well together Sushi Pastor $22 - decent. It's very different from Japanese sushi rolls, but not bad. Asked for no cream cheese and they were able to accommodate. Lots of meat and cheese on top Quesabirria $18 - good. Not super greasy like how some places make it. 2 big size tacos. The cheese and meat went well with the broth 1 dozen Pata de Mula $20 - good. Only ordered a half dozen but they gave a full dozen. Fresh and tasty Crunchy tortilla and seafood soup appetizer complimentary - good. Fresh 32 oz Negra Modelo $13 - on tap, what you'd expect Mango Margarita $13 - everyone loved this Went on a Sunday at dinner time and they were really busy. Waited about 25 minutes. Always a good sign when 90% of the customers were Mexican. Lol. The place is huge with both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was great from the receptionist to the waiter. Parking is not too difficult if you are willing to walk a block or 2. Huge menu. Prices are actually pretty reasonable considering the large portions and that it's mostly seafood. I recommend it

I always come back to Mariscos Costa Alegre for their amazing super micheladas and shrimp dishes. The shrimp is seriously to die for -- fresh, flavorful, and most importantly, clean, which is a huge plus since not all Mexican seafood spots get that right. Their camarones crema is another favorite of mine -- rich, creamy, and perfect every time. If you love shrimp, this place should be on your list!

Food: 5/5 very interesting, I've never had Mexican sushi before. I wouldn't replace regular sushi with it but it is good! Also really good daily specials. Service: 5/5 accommodating for my friend who only eats chicken! Please be ware this isn't a typical Mexican food place and has a lot of seafood options. Our fault for not confirming before going, but they were able to swap out the loaded nachos chorizo with chicken. Vibes: 100/5 I won't spoil it but I would definitely come back to bring someone here for a birthday. It is lit.

Huge menu of Mexican seafood and drinks! It's hard to choose from all the options! On the pricier side, but fun place for a birthday or date night. Live band and vendors come to your table. They give you chips and a cup of soup complimentary when seated which was a nice surprise. Open late.

So I have many years coming here but lately very very disappointed I order a caldo de res with less meat that usually and no corn, no tortillas no rice and I absolutely don't eat at all, and request my corn they said they don't have more corn, at least you need to let this know to the costumers that were Mexican and know how is a caldo de res. Waitress kinda slow and making faces. They never bring the tortillas on time and I don't get any discount for this, I specially come here for the caldo and surprise!! Don't coming here anymore, overprices and bad service, bad food NO THANKS anymore !!

Costa Alegre on Monterrey Rd is a small restaurant with tasty food. I have tried their Mexican sushi, ceviches, micheladas, and my favorite a classic lime margarita. Their service is also on point. Our server was very attentive and helpful. Highly recommend when you're craving seafood, yummy margaritas or micheladas!

Food is great I loved the layout the music and just the presentation. However, the price is expensive. For these 3 dishes was almost $100. In my opinion it's worth the price. Loved the location not hidden away and parking was easy and get this... No traffic.

It was a family feel experience and yet great vibe for just a group of friends.

Money well spent and I used Uber Eats so there's a markup. Shrimp is fresh, vegetables are fresh, and the flavor is impactful. I'll order again 1,000% I also called to ask for more cups and the service was great. Can't wait to try this place in person!

Found this place on Instagram and decided to check it out! They have a very extensive menu with so much to choose from. I got a fish dish since I am cutting down on red meat even though the tacos looked Hella tasty. My friend got the ceviche which we shared and we both got an agua fresca, passion fruit and Jamaica. Neither were too sweet and both were refreshing in the heat. We thought we might order more if we were still hungry but this was the perfect amount of food for the 2 of us. There are 2 seating areas, one closer to the street and one that's a bit more enclosed. They had fans going since it was a warm day and it was much appreciated! When I'm in the area, I'll definitely come back!

Another successful visit to this amazing spot! I had a friend come into town and I knew she'd love this place just as much as I do. And I was right! We both left feeling satisfied and full without feeling heavy or sick from overeating. Their seafood is so fresh and flavorful. The only problem I have here is trying to narrow down what I want to order. Can't wait for the next visit!

I driving by plenty of times but it always looks so crowded.so we decided to try going for a early dinner. I thought at 3:30 on a Friday would be better,but it was still crowded. We ended up having to eat inside. Not a big deal, it's better than waiting. The waitress came quickly and gave us a small cup of shrimp stock and some tostada size chips. We ordered the camarron de ajo(shrimp and garlic). Also a cheviche. My shrimp plate came with rice and macaroni salad. Since it was Fri, I had to pick out the ham. The cheviche plate was large for the price and full of octopus and cooked shrimp. It has a light citrus taste. It came with fried flour tortilla chips. The music was playing in the background added to the great festive atmosphere, it was loud,but it still allowed people to talk and still be heard. The waitress came by though out the dinner asking it every thing was ok. Just need to find a good time to come. The parking lot is small and it's hard to find street parking with all the restaurants so close by each other

Have been wanting to try this place out for some time now and finally had the chance to. There was a bit of a wait time, but we were seated fairly fast. Parking is very limited, we parked on the street, which was maybe a 5 minute walk to the restaurant. We were given a bit of caldo and tostadas while we waited for our food. The caldo was delicious, a bit spicy but I really enjoyed it. It is also different than your typical chips and salsa. I tried their aguachile verde. They were very good! I'm not a huge fan of mango in my aguachiles so I liked that they were not mixed in. We also tried their tacos clásicos. We tried asada, chicken, and brazero. All were very good, and so was the salsa that they provided on the side. I tried their agua de Jamaica which was a bit watered down. I definitely recommend this place. There was a grupo playing while we ate. They alternated between playing indoors and outdoors.

Food was amazing! There's nothing I didn't enjoy. The server gave us some complimentary shrimp soup and tostadas as a starter, it was delicious. I ordered pescado frito. It was so good that I cleaned the fish. Usually when I order pescado frito I put lime in it because it can taste fishy. Not here, you can tell the fish was fresh and packed with flavor. There was no need to put any lime or sauce on it. I love the ambience in there. It has great music and large screens playing different sports. The server was super friendly and checked in on us frequent to see if everything was okay. He definitely made us feel taken care of. This is going to be my new spot for mariscos.

Lots of seafood choices here. I had a fish entree that made me think of a plate lunch: grilled fish, mac salad, rice and a green salad. Priced at $19. Tortillas were served on the side. Nice combo of flavors and textures. Service was good and this could be a fun date night place as there were vendors coming around offering flowers, photos and serenades at the tables. There is a parking lot but it was tight so I parked a on the street.

Great seafood most definitely will return. The service was outstanding. Can't wait to return to San Jose.

Wow. The authentic feeling of this place is unreal. Mariachi band serenading, loud and fun birthday songs with big headed costumes, blood clams and oysters, and reasonably priced for seafood! I see why this place is busy. Service is attentive and friendly. If you're looking for Mexican seafood that is fresh and authentic, check this place out. It's bigger on the inside than I expected! The Chicharron is light and fresh!

Buen ambiente, música en vivo, y mariscos deliciosos. Good energy, friendly service even when it's totally packed, enjoyed the live music. Drinks are always pricey when going out but these ones were absolutely delicious! I loved the cantarito, it was so well balanced. The tostaditas raspadas are so crispy and delicious, just right for a seafood place. I had camarones al mojo de ajo and my plate was varied and filling. Of course, it was delicious. Really enjoyed my evening here :)
