Best Tacos in Phoenix, Arizona | Eater Phoenix

"This lively, brightly colored cantina is one of the best places in town for fresh, well-prepared mariscos. The huge menu, divided into multiple categories to keep everything straight, features 16 tacos. Besides the usual seafood tacos suspects — grilled fish, breaded and fried fish, and shrimp — there are lobster tacos, excellent mar y tierra tacos (combining grilled steak, shrimp and mozzarella) and messy but good grilled octopus tacos overflowing with tender, caramelized octopus, melting mozzarella, tomato, onion, red cabbage, crema, cilantro, queso fresco, and spicy zarandeado sauce. Don’t fill up on the complimentary chips (so fresh and crunchy they’re irresistible) or the complimentary ceviche tostada." - McConnell Quinn

Phoenix’s Best Mexican Restaurants | Eater Phoenix

"It’s always a day at the beach at this 16th Street stalwart, Phoenix’s favorite Mexican seafood restaurant painted in eye-popping colors. The multi-page menu featuring 25 appetizers alone offers every Mexican seafood classic imaginable — raw oysters, shrimp cocktails, seafood tostadas and soups, grilled or fried fish — as well as a slew of surprises, including mango habanero aguachile, hot lava steak, paella brimming with grilled shrimp, grilled octopus and mussels, and El Peligroso, a pricy seafood challenge amped up with fiery Carolina Reaper and ghost peppers that earns diners a t-shirt if they can eat it. Colorful cocktails (some rimmed with Tajin) reflect the same “go big or go home” attitude." - McConnell Quinn

The Best Seafood Restaurants in Phoenix, Arizona | Eater Phoenix

"For over 20 years, colorful Mariscos Playa Hermosa has been serving up seafood dishes with flavors from Mexican beach towns. While most Mexican restaurants in town have some kind of seafood component, this restaurant, affectionately known as MPH to locals, specializes in it. The large menu overflows with options; it would take multiple visits to get through the aguachiles and ceviches alone. There are shrimp and fish dishes, specials like lobster or crab enchiladas, and even a whole grilled octopus. Don’t skip out on the bright and playful cocktail list, which includes handmade ingredients like michelada mix and chamoy; switch things up by adding the chiltepin rim mix to your glass." - Asonta Benetti

The 38 Best Restaurants in Phoenix | Eater Phoenix

"The Maldonado family has been making the party happen for over 20 years at this cheerful, brightly colored cantina, which draws crowds for its excellent Mexican seafood and oversized, lavishly garnished beverages. The huge menu features just about everything oceanic you can think of: raw oysters, fried calamari, ceviches, aguachiles, seafood soups, shrimp dishes of every description, lobster enchiladas, fried red snapper, tacos (the octopus are fantastic) on and on for pages and pages. The hard part is narrowing it down to one thing. By the way, there are turf options for the seafood-averse. Best for: Seafood towers, mango-stuffed micheladas, and the feeling of being on a beach in Sonora without leaving town." - McConnell Quinn

I’m new in town and I was previously on the hunt for a good seafood restaurant - this is it! Their service is amazing. The food is hands down the best and it’s spicy! We had the hangover cure plate and omg will it set you right. I’m not a fan of slushy or frozen drinks but this place has the best and strongest frozen cocktail from anywhere. The staff is also so kind and attentive. Don’t look or go anywhere for seafood - this is literally it!

Google
Such a superb and soothing experience to have lunch at MPH. I had Duos Equis, Carne Asada, Ceviche & Coctel de Camaron. They felt so fresh, healthy and also value for money. Again thanks 'Rich Salazar' my colleague for bringing me here. I am going to visit again and try something new. Muy Gracias .

Google
A good spot for some typical Mexican food. The chips and salsas were my favorite part… the red salsa had a little kick and the green was a nice cool flavor. We ordered the vegetarian fajitas which came with rice and lettuce. We had to ask for tortilla and it didn’t come with salsa, sour cream, or cheese which I’m used to getting when ordering fajitas. It was fine, nothing special.

Google
Our party of four was attended right away on a busy Sunday afternoon. We wanted to order one thing to share amongst the four of us, so we ordered “la mamalona.” The presentation was beautiful and the quality of the food was amazing. It was easy to eat, compared to places where the shrimp and octopus is usually chewy - not here. The aguachile had the perfect amount of spicy to get your nose running. We ended up paying $108 with drinks included. I will definitely be returning to enjoy more seafood.

Google
We had high hopes for this place so that's probably my fault for ordering lobster in the middle of the desert! Service was excellent, presentation was top notch (see photos). Fajitas were as expected, nothing out of the ordinary. The lobster was overcooked and stuck to the shell. There was absolutely no seasoning on the vegetables so I mixed the shrimp and grilled onions in to add some flavor. Carne Asada was as expected but I was expecting more. Nice atmosphere and full parking lot at 2pm on a Tuesday afternoon so the locals do love it!

Google
Bottom Line Up Front: Great restaurant to enjoy fresh Seafood and other assorted Mexican dishes! In my opinion this is the best restaurant to enjoy fresh affordable seafood in the State of Arizona! Oyster's in the half shell prepared were awesome 👍🏽 👍🏽 👍🏽 👍🏽 👍🏽 Customer Service: Excellent! Very respectful, courteous and kind. My wife and I found the service very refreshing and genuine. Great team effort, from the young man who took the order, to the young lady who checked on us periodically. And I can't neglect to mention the cook, who prepared and delivered great dishes. Family Friendly: Excellent! Great food for children. Atmosphere: Excellent! The entire staff was very polite and professional. Climate was warm and friendly. Menu: Excellent! Restaurant provides a QR code on your table and if staff will provide a paper menu if needed. Just ask or look at the tv screen with different dishes being rotated and point😁 Cost: Excellent! Food chains like Red Lobster or Angry Crabs food doesn't compare and neither does the price. Food: Excellent! Freshly prepared and well presented dishes, arranged with beautiful edible colors. Every dish was professionally prepared with class and pride. The white rice was delicious! Wait time: Excellent! No issues when you open the restaurant. I'm sure the evenings and weekends there's a wait. Call first to find out. Parking: Excellent! No issues since we arrived when it opened, but I'm sure the evenings and weekends are packed, so get there early! Handicap Accessible: Excellent! Restrooms, dining room and outside area will accommodate. Beverages: Excellent! Wide variety of excellent drinks for all. Mariachi's: Excellent! Available on Wednesdays, when not on vacation! Seating: Excellent! Comfortable and spacious seating available. Military Friendly: Excellent! I didn't inquire about a military discount, but I'm sure you'll find it's worth what they charge. Recommendations: Highly recommend Mariscos Playa Hermosa. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is refreshing! We'll be returning on a monthly basis 💯 Gracias Mariscos Playa Hermosa for the best food and service during our visit. See you soon!

Google
Overall, the food at these Phoenix spots looked appealing but didn’t live up to the hype. Mariscos Playa Hermosa had big portions but bland seafood, with only the Caldo 7 Mares standing out. Mala Temptation had a huge menu and nice plating but lacked flavor, and Sushi Sen was overpriced with underwhelming quality.

Kylie Ha

Google
The food was disappointing. I ordered the mixed tacos — they were pretty average, and the beef tacos were dry. The octopus lacked flavor, and for $47, I don’t think it was worth the price. They did give two free tacos, which was nice, but the only thing I really enjoyed was the margarita.

Yelp
We came here for Father's Day at 11:20am and the place was already packed!! We sat in the patio and it was cool w the misters. The food and the service were amazing!! The Mega Molcajete & camarones loco was full of flavor and plenty to share w a party of 3-4. I do recommend the red sauce vs the green if you want more of a heat & spice. We can't wait to come back and try some of their other dishes that we saw others ordering. I have my eyes on the: Camarones Fantasia, La Cura Cruda & Tostada Embarazada!

Yelp
Tried this place for lunch and it was so good! My friend and I came here looking for a place that was a bit more protein-centric and healthier, and Playa Hermosa delivered wonderfully. I had chicken fajitas already on the mind, so that is what I ordered, which came with rice & beans on the side. My friend ordered the Caldo 7 Mares, their house specialty. Overall, the restaurant was clean and had a great atmosphere. Service was fast and friendly, bringing out a complimentary ceviche tostada before our orders came out, which only added to the experience. Our food came out PIPING hot, fresh, with wonderful presentation. My food was delicious, period. My friend's caldo: delicious, period. The food was so good, that I'll just say this: there was a child SCREAMING in the restaurant, at another table, for whatever reason. It was quite bothersome when we first arrived. But once we got our food, the taste of the dishes completely drowned out the noise. It was that good. I expect to return soon, but instead of going with a chicken dish at a seafood restaurant, I will be trying dishes that they're known for.

Yelp
I was so happy to finally get to try Mariscos Playa Hermosa. Highly recommend the Molcajete Frio filled with crab legs, shrimp, octopus, oysters, abalone, calamari & ceviche in a delicious broth. I'd come back for that alone! We also really liked the chorizo queso and tacos al pastor. Service was very friendly and made good recommendations. Drinks were good but a little pricey compared to other menu items. I had the Spicy Mami with tequila, watermelon, tajin & chamoy, garnished with a watermelon paleta.

Yelp
Dropped in on a Saturday. There is parking in-front the restuarant and behind the laundromat, which is to the left of the restaurant. We ordered guacamole as an appetizer and it needed more salt and lime would be nice for. The main course we got Filete pescado Plancha and Carne Asada burrito. For me personally this fish meal did not stand out and I am a seafood lover. The fish was grilled and its sea bass. What did stand out most was the pineapple margarita that comes in an actual pineapple that was very tasty and great presentation. They also provide a seafood treat, ceviche tostada with a lime and myself adding a little salt. It's pretty good. I am not usually a huge salt lover as is my friend but we both agreed on needing to add salt to the guac and having a lime.

Yelp
This is my go-to spot for Mexican seafood. The food is always 10/10, service is always stellar, and the vibe is right what it should be. My favorite dishes here are their stellar ceviche and caldo de siete mares. Their tortillas are aces, and the chips and salsa are top tier.

Yelp
Well, I am not a sea food fan but we are here for a birthday party. The first thing is how nice this place looks inside and outside, very well done. I ordered a chicken burrito which was very tasty. My wife ordered the fajitas with steak, chicken and shrimp and she loved it. The steak and chicken were very delicious. The rest of the party shared a molcajete with chicken, steak and shrimp. It looks awesome and everyone loved it. Our server Frida, is just a fantastic server. We told her we were first timers and she brought us out some free food. She's very nice and attentive. This is a must try for you sea food lovers and ask for Frida as your server.

Yelp
We found this place completely by accident and truly enjoyed the experience. As you enter into the restaurant, the interior is colorful and beautiful. We were greeted by the great staff and sat down immediately. We were lucky enough to get there before the lunch crowd started coming in and boy did they come in. Our waitress stopped by and gave us a ceviche tostada as a complimentary appetizer. It was delicious. We ordered two margaritas and if you were a fan like we are, these were deliciously good!! I ordered a paella like dish with incredible flavors. Be advised the dish easily feeds 2 people - or 3 - 4 as an appetizer. My husband ordered his shrimp with Diablo sauce, which was pretty spicy, but you couldn't stop eating it. In Spanish, we say Sabroso!!!! Every single dish coming out of the kitchen was presented beautifully. There are some amazing combinations, all focused on seafood. We kept asking our waitress "what is that??" I suspect most of the clientele were regulars. With such an extensive menu they were pretty quick to order and dishes they chose looked mouthwatering. It was well worth the price we paid and yes, we did have a second margarita! One thing you should ask is how spicy the dish is to make sure you're not getting something that may be too hot for you. If they are unable to make it less spicy, they are more than happy to make other suggestions. For us this is definitely the place to stop at when we are in that area.

Yelp
Seriously blown away by this place! The quick service, the atmosphere, and the food all top notch! Everything was super fresh and even though it was packed on a Friday night, we were seated right away and waited on instantly. My husband said, "We're going to have to make this a usual spot". Highly recommend!!

Yelp
This place was so yummmy!! Just before I was getting ready to head home, my friends took me here for some delicious seafood. I've been wanting to try this forever since my friends are always posting this place. Inside was very nice and pretty roomy, it was busy inside so I knew it was a good sign. I ordered half dozen of the oyster with shrimp and avocado, a crab enchiladas, and my friends ordered aquachile. Everything I ate was so good. I really think having a mariscos in Seattle would do really well. Lots of flavors and I just loved how everything was seafood forward. Oh, you also get complimentary ceviche tostado. Already planning my visit when I come back in July.
google avatar

Yelp
Although I liked the old decor, the new look of the restaurant does seem more upscale. And while the food is still great, especially the molcajete that we always order, the prices have increased to match the decor. That being said, the molcajete can't be beat

Yelp
Went here for family member's birthday. Super crowded but only had to wait five minutes for a table. They have a lot of tabletops in a small area. Staff was very attentive and helpful. I dont eat a lot of Mexican seafood, but I thought it was all fresh and delicious. Portions were really big. Entress came with large sides of beans and rice. Not sure we needed appetizers on top of free chips and salsa with how big the entrees were. Service was really quick.

Yelp
Owner Lee picks fights with women, embarrassing. Taking my business elsewhere unfortunately.
google avatar

Noemi B.

Yelp
Rude owner Lee!!!!!!! I am incredibly upset with this place. This was one of my favorite spots. Would have business meetings and would come with family and friends. I will never come again! Came here for lunch and had my toddler with me. I was driving my big truck because I was getting ready for a community event this weekend. When we got there, I chose to park on the far East end because there were 3 spots open and did not want to risk hitting any other cars. There were other parking spots open but this was the best option for what I was driving. There were 2 small buckets near the parking block and we moved a bit to avoid hitting them. Then Lee comes out pissed and yelling at my friend who moved the buckets. Then I hear her say, "Why are you yelling at me?" I see him arguing with an angry look on his face and I get out of the truck to ask him why he was yelling and acting so rude. He stated "Why are you parking here?!!! There is a lot of parking!!" I said..."Do you see this truck? it was the biggest space for this it and wanted to be furthest away from the other vehicles. He continued to yell and say why did you move the buckets?" Literally moved about 1 ft. Then he says, "I tried to be nice!" I'm like, "REALLY? You could have asked us nicely to move to another area. However you chose to be rude and yell" I asked him for his name and proceeded inside to complain. He followed me upset and I asked to speak to the manager. He then says..."I am the owner!!" I was like "WOW!!! I told him "Well just know you have lost my business, my family's, my work peers, and friends and will be placing a review!". He was like "Go ahead and leave a review" and of course we left. I really wish I would have recorded this incident. A man yelling at 2 women and a toddler in the presence. An upset man because we moved his small buckets to park. Makes me so angry because we came super excited to eat here! Never again supporting someone with crappy and inhumane behavior!

Yelp
This place just keeps getting better. I love how passionate they are about being the best seafood spot in the valley and it shows. I had the aguachile trio and it was amazing. Fresh, colorful and full of flavor. This is my first time visiting since the remodel and it really looked amazing. Service was on point as well and we can't wait to return.
google avatar

Yelp
Came by on Wednesday night. The parking is small and can be tight, you can park in the street. The inside is small but very bright and welcoming. We got seated right away. On Wednesday night they have live mariachis. It lightened up the mood and always a fun time. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She walked us through the menu and answered any of our questions. We ordered a couple of items for our table. We had the molcajete, calamari, fish and a couple of other dishes. They bring you a ceviche tostada on the house to have while you wait for your food. The food was good. Overall it was a good experience.
google avatar

Jonathan C.

Yelp
Mariscos Playa Hermosa Overrated. The Molcajete Frio looked good but tasted like frozen seafood--bland shrimp, salty crab, and the worst oysters ever. Big portions, average quality. The Caldo 7 Mares was decent and worth a try Mala Temptation Huge menu, nice presentation, but the taste was disappointing. Soggy potatoes, tough duck, bland eggplant, and the cumin fish was just okay. Feels like pre-made food Sushi Sen Overpriced. $25 for two uni sushi. Looked fine, but the tempura and katsu weren't crispy, and the sashimi was just okay Phoenix food? Nice plating, but it mostly lacks real flavor--totally opposite of funky Banff
google avatar

Yelp
Great Food!!! We had a nice waitress... One small issue my father is older and struggled with the downloading the menu on his phone..
google avatar

Hailey B.

Yelp
Loved this spot!! This place was delicious & I can't wait to go back to try more, we devoured 2 plates of the Cucararcha shrimp, absolutely delicious I definitely recommend, shrimp ceviche, could've used some spice like a jalapeño but delicious! Crab enchiladas were unique, went with both red & green sauce & green was the favorite!! The restaurant gave was complimentary fish ceviche tostadas & service was great, bussers were efficient with keeping up with empty plates from the table, everyone worked as a team & the place was packed! Cute ambiance, bright colors, fun bar set up, pretty large & unique menu

Michael L.

Yelp
ONG! If you gave not been here you are missing out on the best fresh Mexican seafood north of the border. Outstanding service , food, drinks and atmosphere.
google avatar

Nala K.

Yelp
Super amazing food and quality of seafood as well! The waitress we had gave the best recommendations including one of her favorite dishes which happened to be the spicy shrimp appetizer! I wish I remembered the name but the flavor was amazing and tasted fantastic! Everything we got was way bigger of a serving than we had planned for so we definitely walked away with leftovers but that was a bonus honestly! A great place to share platters and enjoy some great flavors! The patio seating in the winter was lovely since they had heaters and that made the feel of the restaurant feel great too and added to the ambiance! They get packed so definitely join the waitlist or plan ahead and give yourself time to enjoy it here!

Yelp
Food: 5/5 I ordered the shrimp and chicken fajitas with corn tortillas on the side. To say that the flavor was Smokey and delicious is an understatement. For someone who doesn't like to eat vegetables voluntarily, I couldn't put my fork down. The portions are huge and worth every penny! Service: 5/5 The waiter was patient, kind, and offered great suggestions. Despite the hectic flood of people due to the holiday, he made sure to stop by the table frequently and check on me. Ambiance: 4/5 I knocked a stare off because the space is small, with there being limited waiting space. The parking is also difficult. However, what the venue lacks in square footage, it makes up for in decor. The walls are multi colored as well as the tables. Each chair is hand painted with a unique design. It feels like you are sitting in a house in Mexico. Overall, the hype is JUSTIFIED! Stop by today!
google avatar

Monique C.

Yelp
Absolutely blown away with the food and service of this place. Everything tasted so fresh, authentic and flavorful. I felt like I was in Mexico after awhile, wishing I was stepping out onto the beach!! I had the 4 mixed tacos and they were all so delicious. The cheese they used for the shrimp tacos were to die for. We received a complimentary tostada and it had us singing!! The pink horchata and my spicy mami drink were the cherry on the top. We had to get dessert so we made room and had no regrets. We left satisfied and are extremely excited to tell our friends and family about this spot :)
google avatar

Steve L.

Yelp
Mariscos definitely serves up some good food -- authentic and full of flavor! You can really tell they put care into their dishes. If you're looking for a spot with fresh, tasty, and genuine flavors, this is a great choice. Highly recommend giving them a try!
google avatar

Liz F.

Yelp
Great place! Served was very nice. You get a complimentary ceviche tostada. I had the tuna tacos and it was delish. I wanted to try their vegan tostada but they did not have. Hopefully next time. My partner had tacos al pastor and loved it as well. Next time we visit we will definitely stop by

Richard F.

Yelp
Amazing service and food to match!! great atmosphere as well. Everything tasted fresh and on point. When I am back in town, I'll definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Ok I ordered Uber Eats estimate 12oz cup for $18 bucks for $1 more I should've done a prior ceviche restaurant. It's one star because of the size. They are just wrong.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was delicious!! I will definitely be coming back. I haven't had shrimp cucaracha style before and I loved it! All very filling! There was three of us and we still left with a box of food. Employees were nice there was a wait when we first got there. Not too long either. You either have to wait in your car or outside. Wasn't bad at all. The ambiance was cute! Small and busy place! Love love love and highly recommend when Phoenix especially if you love mariscos as much as I do!

Yelp
Best service and very good people. Love the food And love their live music every friday afternoon. No se lo pierdan, visitenos en la central de phoenix az. Gracias

Yelp
Ambiance: Lively and very social. The way the establishment is structured makes a casual conversation sound louder. Cleanliness: It was okay but there could be an improvement. They were very busy when I dined with them and they were trying to keep up as much as they could. Taste: Flavorful and so many seafood options. Service: Our waiter was very attentive and proud us a complimentary appetizer since our food was taking longer than expected. I definitely appreciate her being proactive in this aspect. Overall: A one of its kind in PHX and truly an authentic Mexican seafood restaurant. Staff is proactive in their approach to service. If they can enhance their cleanliness this would be a 5 star establishment for me.

Shawndrica S.

Yelp
Food is delicious. Service was good. They have an outdoor seating areas that is clean but prepare for uninvited guests to want that good food. Parking is trash. Worth every penny.

Jiminy C.

Yelp
Out freaking standing!!! The giant molcajete is off the charts. Shared with my wife and still had a to-go box. I need 50 more characters to say what I already said.

Yelp
Playa was recommended to me by a friend and I've now been two times. I would go so far to say they have the best Mexican seafood in Phoenix! Tucked away in a Phoenix neighborhood off of Garfield Street, this restaurant has been around since 2002. They even won an award for best Mexican in 2020. I am super impressed with the ambience, service, and food here! When you walk in, you're greeted by a little host station. The decor is bright and their website description of themselves as a "colorful cantina" is spot on! The dining room is a small space, but the vibrant colors and decorated walls really create a cozy, comfortable, family sense. The food and drinks, just wow! So many options to choose from. They are known for their chamoy and house made mineraguas. I love that they offer so many mocktails that also give you the "wow" factor ball their drinks can be dressed up with the house chamoy rim as well. Take one glance at their menu and your jaw may drop because their extensive food options are impressive. Portions are amazing. Both times I came here, I ordered and shared their most famous dish, the Molcajete Caliente. It comes with beef, chicken, and shrimp in a large scorching hot molcajete served with either a green culichi sauce or our red diabla sauce. I opted for the green sauce which is less spicy. So much food is in this dish along with the sides of salad, rice and beans so it's definitely worth it and great to share! The service here was top notch and everyone was very friendly, attentive, and approachable. I will definitely be frequenting the spot. Everything about it is great and I'm a big fan!
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely amazing authentic Mex. Loved nearly everything especially the chicken and shrimp fajitas. Avocado salsa was kind of tasteless. Red salsa too spicy. Fish tacos were spectacular although some of the breading fell Off.

Yelp
I wish I could have known about this place sooner! I absolutely loved the food here! It was very favorable and delicious! The service provided by the waitress was friendly, and she was very attentive to me and my guest. The place itself is beautiful! You have an option of sitting inside or outside and there's a lot going on; however, the setting fits the name of the place. Will be returning here for sure!

Lielyn D.

Yelp
Beautiful place. The wait staff are happy and it shows in the ambience and the food. There is a full bar with GIANT margaritas. A great place to take your family as well as a date. We were seated and served the usual chips and salsa. We received ceviche on a corn tortilla. It was so good and fresh. I had the Garlic Shrimp and my husband had the breaded tilapia. We loved the food. Never had tilapia so tender. The menu is extensive with varieties of seafood including crab legs. The check was so affordable. Beautiful place, there is patio seating, good ambience, great staff, very affordable and not sports on all televisions. Better than the chain restaurants with their generic menus. Get here early because of the limited parking, come often because the food is exemplary. (sorry no pictures. Food too good, lol!)

M H.

Yelp
Amazzzzzzzzzing. I had the mango margarita - delish! I also had the Tostada Embarazada - delish! My girl had the Botana de Mariscos - delish! The ambiance and the service were great. Definitely coming back if we ever visit the PHX AZ area again.

Yelp
Ok, the food here is legit. It's authentic food made by someone behind the swinging doors that actually is home ground passionate about every plate. For us gingos, be warned! The red sauce is hot. Drinks are solid also. We had several margaritas. We will be back for sure. Great staff, clean and one for the favs

Yelp
So I went here with a rather large party and the staff went above and beyond accommodate the stair when I see the service was excellent even for a large party it really was. I host. This was very attentive and make sure that everyone's order was accurate and they even give us a complementary appetizer for the table. The food was absolutely delicious when I say it tasted so fresh and it was so well prepared. I'm honestly so glad I found this place. It is a small restaurant and parking can be scarce, but it feels like a a family operated restaurant. The decor & service felt very warm and welcoming, and I can't wait to return.

I have been here multiple times. The food is fantastic and consistent. Their drinks are over the top. Their seafood is very fresh. Their presentations are terrific. You feel like you're in coastal Mexico.

Yelp
My wife and I visited MPH for the first time a week ago, and what an amazing experience. Their menu offers an array of delectable choices, and the service and cuisine are equally fabulous. MPH is now our go-to for mariscos!

Yelp
We were in town for 24 hours and this place was recommended by a worker at the airport. And he did not disappoint. First off the atmosphere was amazing. They had several big screen tvs to watch sports. The music was fantastic. The food and service was amazing. The entire staff was kind and helpful no matter of it was their table or not. I had the crane asada plate and my father had the Camerones rancheros. He wanted to go back the filling day but we had a flight to catch. 5 stars all around!

Yelp
Wow wow wow! We made a reservation for 5pm and it was fairly full inside. There was also patio seating with a few tables. After a long day watching the Dodgers at spring training, we needed refreshing drinks. The menu for food and drinks is pretty epic! The complimentary seafood tostadas were a nice starter. The chips and salsa was just average. The camarrones aguachile was superb and sooo tasty. The whole grilled octopus was also very delicious and nicely cooked. I would definitely come back to try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Hadn't been here in a while. Looks like a lot changed but the food is still very good, they still have the pretty chairs and tables and cool decor that transport me to a completely different place. They also have attentive and friendly staff. Highly recommend. It's always pretty busy and parking can be a challenge but this time we went early afternoon and got a parking spot with ease. Food can take a while to come out but they take care of you with chips, salsa, and ceviche tostada. So that's never an issue for us. Some places tell you when things are extra, this is not one of them, so if they offer something I would keep that in mind. Nevertheless, my party had a good time here and enjoyed every dish.

Yelp
As always, Playa Hermosa does not disappoint!!! I come here about once a month for a reason. The seafood is always fresh. Always tasty. Always filling. The customer service here is top notch. If you're looking for a place reminiscent of a Mexican seaside town, this is the spot! Stop by and give it a try, I've never had anything here I did not love.

Yelp
The ambiance of this place is fun, lively and just plain makes you feel like your at a party! Colorful and filled with music that makes you feel like dancing in your seat. Not a dancer? Watch sports on the big screen. As busy as this place is service was quick and friendly. Drinks always filled without having to ask! The reason we came to this location was because it is a Mariscos and I've been here before and it was excellent. We had a party of 9 so lots of food ordered. We had Ceviche Tostada, Fish Ceviche which was served complimentary with your meal, lobster enchilada, Asada tacos, Micheladas, seafood stew, fresh oysters and more tacos! Seafood so fresh, and everything else delicious! Some spicy, all colorful and full of flavor. Had such a great time, we left content, happy and with a great experience again! Next time I'll try patio seating. Thank you Playa Hermosa it was another great meal added to my trip!

Yelp
Had dinner here with friends and it was really fantastic. We shared a molcajete caliente, huachinango, pescadilla, children's cheese and bean burrito, and a guacamole. The red snapper was gigantic. We got sauce on the side and was given a huge bowl of their red sauce. It was delicious even without the sauce. The molcajete dip had a fresh lime flavors but was also creamy and with a zing. The various meats and seafood that lined the rim was also extremely tender and flavorful. The service was excellent. Everyone was super nice and attentive. We stayed a bit late past closing, while they were still cleaning up and they didn't rush us at all. The ambiance is very fun and can be a little boisterous. Would be fun for celebrations or get togethers.

Yelp
The Good-- food was as expected. service made the experience less outstanding. Seemed like being sat on the patio left us as the forgotten-- no water check ins, no drink replenishment. Overall food was decent or as expected. Side note-- parking sucks.
