Mariscos y Sushi Los Tomateros

I think we came in a good time. It was pretty lonely. The food and service is great. Definitely would be coming back soon.

What an interesting little restaurant! I was in the area to pick up a friend, and wanted to try it out after David Chang posted about it. They have such an interesting blend of Japanese and Mexican dishes (the common theme revolving around fresh fish). I can’t really compare this with Japanese sushi restaurants, it’s its own category. With that said, the food was pretty solid. I’m not a big ceviche type food person, so if you like fresh fish with citrusy flavors, they got that here.

Very good food al around I've had more than half of there menu and I have no complaints 👌. Will be coming back for sure "Empanadas de camaron" will have you at first bite. LOVE the food. Kids menu needs a upgrade maybe no more Lil burger my daughter is 5yrs old and she can eat 2-3 of these. Just make the burgers normal size i don't want to buy 3 kids meals to feed a Lil kid. Only thing I would change.👍👍

I give and take some with the whole 2020 stuff. Went there to try something different plus had a craving for some sushi. Was cought a little off guard when the entrance was squared off by tables, however, there was someone paying attention to the lobby. The menu was on the left. Chosen the Mango roll and crunchy tuna roll. The Mango roll was the most interesting. Had the sweetness of the mango plus a kick of spice to it, very good. The tuna roll for me was so-so could have been better. Would I go back? Maybe but on a rare occasion. My opinion the prices was a little too pricey but it was interesting doing something different. Included is the menu I saw and the Mango roll.

Little hole in the wall... outside is a little uninviting but was very happy that we went in. Service was great and the food was really good... we all were pleased with our food. Stop by you won't regret it...

Loved this unique mashup of sushi with a Mexican twist. Fresh spicy ceviche Verde was delicious as were several sushi rolls. Gorgeous plating. Friendly service.

The rainbow roll was terrible !!!! Just one piece of imitation crab inside rice. No seaweed wrap no usual crab salad inside it’s literally one cut piece of unseasoned imitation crab inside rice

Regresen Al mero mero!!!!Porque este chef valió gorro le dicen el maestro cochinadas. Me recuerdo que antes todo esta muy fresco, el sabor súper rico, todo todo estaba muy rico!Lo único que me gustó de hoy fuel el servicio de la señora. Hoy ordenamos camarones a la cucaracha y la neta estaban feos. La salsa no sabía rica o con sabor. Los camarones eran de camarón seco y me tocaron 3 que estaban súper apestosos. La otra orden era de botana mixta y estaba caliente. Normalmente eran fríos. No se si tenían sus mariscos afuera o que paso ahí pero ni ganas de comerlos nos dio. La última orden que agarramos fue un California roll y volvemos a lo igual antes todo era fresco. Esta vez la jaiva era en trocitos grandes. Sabe a sushi express. Porfavor don tomatero regrese! Su sazón se le extraña!!

This place is amazing! The salmon yuzu sashimi, spicy tuna on crispy rice, yellowtail roll, and spicy tuna roll are my absolute favorite. The prices are always very affordable. The quality is really good, so do not judge the location or surroundings because this place is NOBU quality. I keep coming back!

I've been here before for lunch and it was pretty good so i decided to place an order to go . My son loves sushi and mariscos and thought he would love this . Mannn when i got home i was so disappointed! The sushi was nothing but cream and rice ! I got 3 different kinds and they were all disappointing. I also got a tostada de jaiva y Camaron . The shrimp was so tough smh. All in all i was disappointed especially because it was not cheap! Not sure if they changed chef's or they were not having a good day but either way . I was left dissatisfied

Authentic Sinaloan-style Mexican seafood restaurant, that happens to serve sushi. The interior is casual, with plenty of seating. The menu includes tostadas, tacos, ceviches, etc, with an impressive variety of seafood. It also offers sushi. They have familiar maki like California and Rainbow rolls, but I recommend exploring their "Sushi Empanizado"; wild fusion rolls that you will not find anywhere else. We loved the Guamuchilito Roll. This decadent cut roll contains jaiva, camaron, pulpo, pepino, spicy mayo, and sriracha. Every bite had an amazing balance of different textures and plenty of spice, but not so much that it overpowered the natural flavors of the seafood. Definitely order this. The Ceviches Hawaiiano was too heavy on the tamarind for our liking, but the mango and shrimp within were tender and juicy. The Tuna Crunchy Roll was good, but not memorable. Again, stick to the fusion rolls here. We loved their fresh Limonada and hot, crispy tortilla chips, which complemented the food perfectly. The staff were all friendly and polite, despite our limited Spanish. Portions are large, and the quality of ingredients is fantastic for the price. Definitely worth a try if you like mariscos and/or fusion sushi.

Food was all mouthgasms! Everything was WOW but the michelada & empanadas de camarón con queso, the best! Service was amazing! Shout out to our waiter, Jasmine, only 18 & holds down the fort like a boss. Seriously tho, we had gone to Culichitown in the city of Bell, and wtf happened to their food, we had to walk out and so we googled "Sinaloense sushi" near us, and that's how we ended up here, we had seen some of these reviews that say some negative outcome, but I have to disagree, & I'm an amazing cook myself; everything we had was EXTREMELY BOMB & what u see in my pics is only some of the delicious food we had, other plates didn't make it to pics because we had noticed how good food was, we were too excited to wait & had try the rest of the food that was coming out right away and let me tell u again, it was one of the best, or maybe even the best when it comes to, what I believe it's called, "Sinaloa sushi" Yummmm.... we don't regret it at all!!! The restaurant was super chill, good vibes, they had the game on; plus the owner came to our table to check on us if all was ok, watched soccer game w hubby a bit, he def is extremely humble!. Must try!!!!!!

Mariscos are great, no complaints there. I should've known better in ordering a kids meal burger from a mariscos place. But my niece wanted a burger and I figured I may as well order from here while the rest of us get mariscos. Mind you this is a delivery order and pictures aren't available for the kids meal, but I should've taken the description as LITERAL as possible. Description reads as "bite size burger". In my head what kids burger isn't, well Jesus said FAFO because THIS is what was sent to me . The fries are generous and well seasoned. But good God the burger is like the lunchables burger except you get two in that box LOL. See photo for reference. Like I said, mariscos were fuego (means delicious). Had it not been for the burger it'd be a five . On the bright side, it brought us all a good laugh and makes for a funny story when I show people the picture of the kids burger.

This is my favorite sushi spot to go to because the server is so kind and the food is so good I love their sushi! And I really like the decor. Overall this place is a 9/10 if you want sushi, seafood or Mexican food come here

So I was doing a job here and they had such a snarky ass attitude to me. I went about three time 2 times were to get something to drink. I got 2 jarritos the first time, the second time I had got 2 coca-cola bottles, and the last time I had got a rainbow sushi roll (for my girlfriend) the sanitary issue is something else I was at the side doing seal and they sneeze I instantly hear metal clanking and the owner was arguing practically next to me with his wife. They need to hire people out of family. Family and business should not be mixed with personal issues.

I always other to go and the service is great. Tostada tomateros is my favorite. Best in town!

I saw this place on a show I was watching and came to try. I'm from Sinaloa so I was really hoping this would be bomb, but it wasn't . The chair and tables were also not clean and very sticky so was the menu. The best part was the service, the lady that helped us was super kind and sweet , all the stars for her lol But the food was a miss for me , their scallops weren't fresh and their mexi sushi wasn't as good as other places I've had it. They do have all the authentic sauce options though, maybe their cooked dishes are better

If you know about mariscos you'll agree that this place has delicious food i'm from Culiacán and i approve. Who ever doesn't agree can eat at the mariscos down the street from there.

Execellente comida lo único es que necesitan más personal como meseras la mesera anda por todos lados y tarda en traerte la comida pero el sabor está riquísimo lo recomiendo vale la pena ! El dueño muy humilde y siempre bien atento gracias .

I ordered the cocktail i1-10 I give it a 2 it tastes like water the California sushi was ight I feel like it the red sauce doesn't go on the sushi well now ik if I want sushi not to go here

I definitely recommend this spot , fresh seafood and the taste is authentic. Its really hard finding a seafood spots but if you want good Sinaloense style Mariscos this is where you want to go!!

Food was ok better than a few around restaurants around that area, not bad not good just ok.

Not the type to complain about my food but how are you going to use an avocado that is turning black? aside the portion of a tostada de camaron con pulpo was kinda messed up.

I have heard good things about this place and finally had a chance to check it out for myself. I always order a taco in places like that just to see how they make it. I have to say their shrimp taco was bomb. I loved how their tortilla tastes, it has a very unique flavor. Their michelada was also great. I am a fan of michelada and I gotta say it was on point. We odered a guamuchilito roll. It was good quality roll, but was not anything special inybopinion. We also got a ceviche plate. I can't say it blew my mind. It was just nice and fresh. I would give this place a 5 just for the michelada, but the parking situation there is not the best. I had to drive around just to find a spot 2 blocks down the street. They do have a tiny lot in the back but it was full, even though the restaurant wasn't even half full.

I really love their micheladas so good and that green sauce made to perfection They have just about any typical Mexican dish but I also get the mar y Tierra sushi roll can never go wrong with that

Tacos El Gobernador are the best I had a lovely dinner with my partner and we enjoyed our meals

Trying something new after a night of fun. My son wanted shrimp ceviche, I wanted aguachiles, and to try something new. I tried the red aguachiles they are just perfect not too spicy not to mild. The Hawaiian shrimp ceviche pretty good the juice flavor is delicious. The shrimp ceviche good as well my son loved it. They sent tostadas, tapatio, Mayo, napkins, utensils. Flavors are good but I am a salty and lemon lover lol so I added more at home. I would buy again thank you.

California Roll is not a California Roll. It's a piece of fake crab with a cucumber and Rice. No Mayo No Avocado, no Nori. And they have the nerve to charge $10.99. Stay Away.

so from the outside this place looks a bit sketchy... like some family mexican restaurant that hasn't done an outdoor update from the 80's or is long closed. but inside the food is REALLY good! mexican influenced sushi/japanese food that is super tasty, fresh and not expensive. I saw a profile about the owner/chef and apparently he worked at nobu the quality shows in the food. the mexican flavors are a wonderful part of his heritage! I'm definitely coming back!

Came trying to find some good seafood but was disappointed. All the food we order was bland. Fish tacos, shrimp tacos, fish ceviche, ceviche verde, yellow tail and tuna with jalapeño rolls were not good. The tosticeviche wasn't bad. Service was super slow. Don't think I'll be going back.

Was interested in trying this spot after hearing about culichi type sushi and it's great reviews. Boy was I wrong listening to the great reviews. I will say this, this was my first time trying "Mexican" or culichi type sushi, maybe this type is all cream cheese and rice and deep fried, if that's the case then you're in for a treat. But if you're used to traditional Japanese sushi rolls with a decent amount of actual seafood in it, this place isn't it. We tried the dragon roll and the famous guamuchilito roll, and while the guamuchilito roll had a nice chunk of imitation crab, they both tasted like deep fried rice with a hint of cream cheese. Overall would not recommend.

First, I'm not a local. I heard about this spot and was excited so I came on by. I was disappointed. The food was okay. I left full but not fulfilled. We had a couple of rolls that were nothing to write home about. Basically a fried sushi roll which is why I wanted to come here. In practice, it didn't live up to the hype I had manufactured. The staff was incredibly nice and had thoughtful suggestions.

Food was bomb!! And the service was great. They were very friendly and quick. I would definitely recommend if you're in the mood for seafood.

This place has some of the freshest seafood that I've had. You can tell fresh seafood is their secret Ingredient. I always get their aguachiles rojos and they are addicting where you can't stop eating them! This place has, in my opinion, the best aguachiles rojos that I have ever had in southern ca. The service is great! They are very kind and friendly.

Our favorite Suchi place, they have a nice variety of Suchi.The Guamuchilito Rolls are delicious . A small but family friendly place. The server Trini is the best, she's really nice and outgoing. I would definitely recommend .

Must Try!!! The owner was really nice and know his job very well ! They have parking in rear and a lot of street parking .. The price is reasonable I really recommend Albacore crispy onion is the best!! I cant get enough of it and cant wait to go back for this!! Mini burger is soooooooo good !! Small Chinese bun with flavorful and juicy meat patty + crispy onion !! You dont need any sauce for this . Must try!! Yellow jalapeno is fresh ! Nice balance of citrus and spice Scallops tiradito is so refreshing with a little hint of spice Fry Oyster with Jalapeno sauce is Bomb! I never like cooked oyster but this one is really good Most places may use can oyster but they use fresh kushi oyster which is very flavorful I didnt expect to experience these kind of food in Mexican restaurants but they rock it ! And I love it!!

Ordered the Botana Mixta through Grubhub, added whole avocado and salsa negra, with my bottle of coke. It was really good.

Wanted to try this place... and had been wanting to go here several time. Last night we went, my wife finally agreed. We were hungry. I really really wanted an ice cold beer or two or three.... We got there about 530pm. Walked it, the place was empty. A ghost town. There was one young guy eating by himself. There were no workers in sight. We could hear them all talking in the back. We figured they would be right out and i could taste an ice cold Michelada already. Wrong, no one ever came out. We waited a minute, then two, then three, then four, then five, then 6, then 7, then... i think we walked out at 8. No one ever realized they had customers. Not the one guy eating by himself. There was a little girl laying down on one of the booths eating hot cheetos, must of been an employee's kid. At about the 8th minute, we walked out. No beer. No sushi. No mariscos, nada... zip, zilch, zero, niet, negative.

They got great seafood here. Muy sabroso. It's a cool spot that you can relax at while you get your grub on.

Great Mexican sushi! Super fresh and tasty! I ordered it via Door Dash and the presentation was pretty and clean! I will be ordering again soon! Bonus points for putting cilantro in their soy sauce!

Food was good. But looks like my card was fraudulently used less than 1 hour after visiting the restaurant. I had not handed my card out in over a week.

The food was really good and our waitress was attentive and had good recommendations. We all ordered something different. The portions are good and you can share. We ordered for our party a Dragon Roll, Yellowtail Roll, Albacore Crispy Onion, the Camarones a La Cucaracha, Tacos Al Gobernador, taco de Pescado, Tuna Rice Cakes, Ceviche de Camarones, and augachile verdes. Everything was fresh, tasty, and the seafood was cleaned very well. We're looking forward to our next dinner here.

Honestly one of the best places for sushi!! A bit far from where we live which makes me so sad but worth the drive!!! Because of covid we couldn't go inside but the place is small and homey. Getting take out did not disappoint tho! The sushi looked sooo well made and pretty even in their to go box. But the taste- oh man! Something completely out of this world! I'm super picky when it comes to sushi but this place is by far my favorite so far! Also when we called to order the person in the phone was super nice. I can't wait for my next cheat day to go back! Might actually cheat and go before lol

I had a sudden craving for some verde aguachiles since it's been hot lately. I ordered from here through DoorDash and the aguachiles didn't disappoint. I'm not much of a seafood person, but I've this dish is very good. It's spicy, but so so good. A little pricey for me or maybe seafood is just a bit pricier??? I don't know. My sister ordered the California Cut Roll and she thought it was decent. She said that there is definitely an infusion taste since this restaurant sells more than just sushi. It wasn't traditional sushi, in plain words. It was also very spicy and that wasn't indicated in the description for the food item on DoorDash. Nonetheless, the rolls are dressed up beautifully. Food was worth the wait for me. I added my own touch and used Tostiloco Chile verde chips instead of the tostadas given for my aguachiles. Gives a lot more flavor

Came here with some friends on a hot sunny day. Delicious cold micheladas to start off be meal. We ordered callo de hacha appetizer and agua chile verde. Both were delicious. Callo de hacha = scallops. The scallops were fresh and tasty. Went for a couple of rolls and spicy ponzu sauce to go with it. I loved the yellowtail roll. I detected some Yuzu maybe yuzu kosho. Everything was spicy.. which is something I love. The dragon roll was a bit to overwhelming for me. The thing being it's not my style but my friend loved it. All in all great service, friendly clean restaurant. I will be back.

So I was randomly craving sushi...and mariscos. My BFF had drove me to my massage appointment so I wanted to treat her to lunch. We yelped this spot and BAM. 1) The owner works at NOBU in Malibu and runs this place. He's been working for them for 12 years so he knows his ish. 2) The service was FANTASTIC. Because it was the weekend the owner was there and he came to our table and talked to us. He was a very nice gentleman who made every accommodation to our food that we wanted. My BFF does't eat meat or cheese and he personally made her this delicious taco with veggies. 3) He has this green salsa that's CRACK. It's really THAT GOOD. 4) The seafood was FRESH perfect for a warm day, and the sushi was on point. 5) Marlin tacos were not skimpy. It had a good amount of fish! 6) The decor was nice. It's Asian themed so it threw me off at first, but it made sense when you think about the sushi. The point is GO EAT THERE!!! Family owned, great service and great food.

Really Nice Place Very clean and nicely decorated. We wanted sushi and were surprised to find their menu has a variety of things. Sushi was pretty good. A little pricey but the service was nice so nothing to complain about.

So I saw a story on the news about this place and decided I'd give it a shot, I'm a sucker for fusion joints... Support mi gente u know... Place was empty to my surprise, I actually thought they were closed till someone pulled up with produce out of the trunk of his car, lol... Really?? I just don't understand how this place gets 5 stars by anyone... To say I was disappointed is an understatement... Ordered 2 rolls, roll #1 was a deep fried roll topped with fried onion strings, it was pretty bland, all you can taste is the breading.... The onion strings were the only good thing about it... Roll #2 was s basic shrimp tempura roll... Wow did it smell bad, shrimp was definitely old... My wife ordered camarones a la diabla, she want impressed... Beans and rice were bland, how can you mess up beans and rice!!?? The exterior of this place makes it look like it's abandoned, the interior was kinda odd... Parking lot is way too small...
