The Best Restaurants In The Gold Coast - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Technically, this place is on the border of the Gold Coast and Streeterville, but it’s worth crossing that busy part of Michigan Avenue for. Marisol is located in the MCA, and it serves food you want to eat, even if you’re not here looking at art installations featuring a singular cotton ball under black light. You’ll find dishes like sunflower seed hummus, housemade pastas, and fried quail with date honey that tastes like fancy chicken and waffles. Plus, the versatile space has a bar area that’s casual enough for a bite with a few friends, and a separate section perfect for dinner with someone who wants to talk about how cotton balls represent consumerism. Or something." - adrian kane, nick allen

The Best Restaurants Near Navy Pier - Chicago - The Infatuation

"After spending time at Chicago’s version of the Mall of America, it might be nice to balance everything out with some culture. Do so at Marisol in the MCA. It’s the spot on this list that’s the furthest from Navy Pier (an 18-minute walk, or six-minute drive), but it’s an excellent restaurant, and it’s still close enough that you should know about it. You’ll find things like sunflower seed hummus, steamed mussels, and housemade pastas. Plus, Marisol is right next to Water Tower Place, just in case you (or the people you’re with) haven’t had enough of Chicago malls for one day." - adrian kane

18 Top Places to Drink Natural Wine in Chicago | Eater Chicago

"More than half of the wines on offer at chef Jason Hammel’s new American eatery Marisol within the Museum of Contemporary Art in Streeterville lean natural. General manager Simon Kim organizes the list, and he suggests trying Mas Oller Blau Nit, Garnacha-Syrah 2018 ($13/$50) from Spain: “At first it is meticulous and poised, with a panoply of ripe dark fruits, espresso, subdued clove, but finishes with a playful and rustic quality — fresh cedar, a slight oceanic salinity, and chalky tannin.”" - Kat Odell

We brought our child to Marisol’s when he was about 4 months old. His eyes light up whenever he gets to school and sees Marisol, Christian and the rest of the staff. Marisol’s Daycare very much feels like dropping our son off at an Aunt or Grandmother’s house. A very loving and caring atmosphere. I love that it is a small group and that our son gets lots of love, attention and learning time. Marisol’s is also a bilingual learning atmosphere, so my son is learning Spanish as well. Marisol texts us pictures and videos each week of our son playing with new toys, taking walks outside and playing with other children. I like the intimate atmosphere, as opposed to some of the big corporate daycares in the neighborhood that seem like you’re just a number. I feel like my son gets plenty of attention and the staff really knows him well. Marisol has been doing this for many, many years and she is a real pro. I would recommend Marisol’s daycare to any friends or family. A hidden gem! We feel grateful to have found this wonderful place.

Marisol and her care team have been so important to my family over the last year. She took my daughter into her care with the most loving and open arms. As a first time mom, it was the most comforting thing to experience. She has taught my daughter so much, and I am confident my daughter is fluent in Spanish! She feeds my daughter nutritious foods, makes sure she gets adequate sleep, and always has the most fun activities planned to occupy the children. My daughter is so excited every time I drop her off in the morning, and has the biggest smile on her face when I pick her up. Marisol shares lots of photos and videos with me every week and it warms my heart. We are so lucky to have found this hidden gem. Don't walk - run to Marisol! You'll never look back. Thank you for everything you have provided my daughter & family!

Our son started there when he was 3 months old and he's had an amazing experience. He's now a toddler and loves going everyday. We are so grateful to have found Marisol. It's not as hard to be away from him when we know he's in such a loving and happy environment all day. Not to mention, she has been a great support to two new parents.

My son has been going to Marisol’s Daycare since he was 15 weeks old, and he just turned 1. We really couldn’t be happier. What truly sets Marisol’s apart is the LOVE, individualized attention and care that she puts into every single day with each child. She has made my son into a happier toddler. She has taught me so much about baby nutrition/ introducing solids, sleep habits, different milestones and so much more. I am forever grateful to Marisol, Christian and Irma. I really can’t picture my baby going anywhere else. When I play a video out loud that Marisol has sent me, and my son hears her voice, he giggles and smiles; you can’t beat that. Marisol is the absolute best.

Our daughter has been at Marisol's since she was 6 months old, now almost 2. We love the small and intimate nature of Marisol's, variation in ages (from infants to 3 yrs), and the daily exposure to Spanish. Our daughter loves the other kids and Marisol and Christian have become like a second family to us. We are expecting and plan to send our 2nd baby to Marisol's as well!

I can't say enough great things about Marisol and her son Christian. I have total and complete confidence in the care they provide. They are helpful, loving, affectionate, and teach me so much given I'm a new parent myself. They are family to my baby and their home is my baby's second home.

Yelp
We have now had two kids at Marisol's since they were about 5 months old and our experience has been great. Our babies were taken such good care of and learned how to be kids. Highly recommended experience for the kids and the parents.

Yelp
My daughter attended this daycare for one year. We were sad to leave the daycare but had to leave once we moved to another part of the city. The Wonderful things: - Caregivers are warm and affectionate to small children. My daughter loved receiving lots of hugs and flying kisses. She was happy when I dropped-off/picked up. - Toddlers are active & burn off energy. They take 1-2 trips/day to the park (weather permitting) using a 6-toddler stroller/carriage for safe transport. There is a great covered play area in the backyard for cooler weather and a mini toddler gym with mats and tunnels to climb through in the basement. - Price is good for the area. - My daughter learned several Spanish words, the alphabet, cute dance moves, and colors. - Minimal days closed when compared to larger daycare centers. - Other parents are warm & friendly. Not quite as wonderful: - Parking is usually available but parallel parking skills is a must. - The drop-off/pick-up area is small and can get busy.

Yelp
Our 7 month old son has been attending Marisol's for just over 2 months now and we are thrilled with the experience thus far. There's nothing quite like knowing that your child is getting the love, care, stimulation, and fresh air they need to grow and thrive. Marisol's vast skill and experience as a daycare provider and her very clear affection and care for our son gives us confidence that he is in the right hands. We love the family feel and that our son is with a range of other ages. He is happy when we drop him off and pick him up!
