15 dollars for a store brought pizza is ridiculous... this is New York... pizza is a delicacy... at the very least I thought pizza quality would stay up to par. Anyways I recommend taking advantage of the drink specials, but the pizza is a waste of time! Happy I went during happy hour because I would of been PISSED has I spent 19 DOLLARS ON A STORE BROUGHT PIZZA CAN'T REITIRATE THAT ENOUGH! the service was cool though.

Recently had a very unprofessional and unpleasant experience with Market Bar. My friend and I were planning a surprise birthday party for another friend and chose Market Bar because of the vibe and the fact that it’s Black-owned. It was difficult to get in touch with the staff to organize the event, but we eventually secured a date for 1/11 and put down a deposit for 6 PM–12 AM. We also confirmed that we could bring a DJ, which added to our excitement for the milestone celebration. On the day of the event, we arrived at the venue only to find it decorated for a baby shower, which left us confused. After contacting the point person, they informed us they were on their way. By the time they arrived, the event had already started, and we were told the venue was double-booked. They said they’d try to get the baby shower to cancel, but there was little effort made to resolve the situation. With no resolution in sight, we decided to leave, requested a refund of our deposit, and scrambled to find a new venue. This was extremely stressful and inconvenient as we had to move our guests, DJ, decor, and cake, but thankfully, we found another space. The following day, we contacted the staff, who were apologetic, professional, and returned the deposit quickly. While I appreciate the prompt refund and acknowledgment of their mistake, this experience was far from positive. Unfortunately, I can’t see myself booking here again.

This placed looked nice and the night we picked was a Friday. The music was pumping! A great selection was in rotation by the DJ. I really wanted to hit happy hour but we got in very late. The atmosphere is very nice and had a very eclectic crowd. The bar was filled. We ordered a few drinks! Which was just OK! Also grabbed some food that was also just OK! The music and friendly staff made up for it all! It had a lounge type of vibe to me. I will return though to try the happy hour and Pizza!

I had a terrible experience trying to throw a birthday party here. They claim that you can use the bar for events for free, but you do have to pay a $200 deposit to secure the space. The communication was nonexistent, they took days to answer emails, and their website had no information or FAQs. Despite paying this holding deposit, they booked a second event on the same day as mine. I was told about the other event the day of and told that it wouldn't interfere with mine. That was a lie. When the time came for me to set up for my event, the other party looked like it was just getting started. The bartender completely ignored me when I asked for help/to speak with a manager about this. And the owner did not provide a viable solution either. I had to move my party to a totally different bar. They almost ruined my best friend's birthday. I do not recommend using this bar for an event.

The drinks and the service were great and I’d love to go back but the music was unbearably loud. It’s a pretty small space and I could barely hear the people I was with nor the bartender. She actually got my drink wrong because she couldn’t hear me. Please turn it down!!!!

The wings are AMAZING! Like so freaking good. The frozen margaritas and rum punch were so good. The atmosphere is really cool, lots of board games & card games. Ample seating and lots of large tvs. The service now is a different story. The drinks on the rocks were awful, they didn’t have certain alcohol to make drinks, and they didn’t let us see the bill in full before charging our card. The server had such a bad attitude it was unbelievable. Lastly, kids are allowed but it is a bar where there is alcohol and music that had cursing. It was an odd experience.

Came for a quick bite to eat and drink and we had to stand at the bar for 3 minutes before being greeted.....and we were the only people there. There is a very young lady there doing triple duty..... cooking, making drinks and taking orders. She didn't bring all our food out at the same time, and she never followed up with us to inquire if we wanted more food or drinks. The food was honestly not tasty at all. My wife had the shrimp tacos and she said she could not taste any shrimp as it was drowning in sauce. They obviously have no desserts because we were not offered a dessert menu. The young lady that served us spent more time playing with her phone and talking to a friend of hers that came in to chat with her then attending to a paying customer. We definitely won't be back.

I came for the later lunch rush with my girlfriend, and my server was very polite, helpful, and accommodating to my dietary needs. I will say that the atmosphere was more tech bro with lots of beer and liquor flowing. But regardless of, everyone look like they were happy, served and not to in intoxicated for this environment to be uncomfortable for us. I would definitely recommend coming back here on a late night after shopping or sightseeing at brookfield Mall.

Yelp
A HAITIAN PIZZA BAR OF SORTS One of my co-workers suggested that we meet her after work because: (1) It's walking distance from work...The equivalent of taking the long way home. (2) We both needed a drink after an eventful, extra long work shift. We got the rum punch which was good but too strong for a Tuesday. (3) I had a craving for Haitian-style herring so we shared a herring pizza. Please note I approached this slice with the most apprehension that I ever had in life and was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it. Their pizza crust has an interesting crunch and flakiness to it that definitely giving homemade with a unique flair. The sauce was holding on to the generous amount of mozzarella while the herring and peppers were the shining star toppings. I enjoyed it so much that I would definitely order it again. If you are looking for a chill bar atmosphere with reimagined Haitian food classics to nosh on then come on in. Thursdays might not be so chill because it's Dance Thursdays and a DJ will be spinning Konpa chunes. It's work a try.

Yelp
The service here was 5 star, unfortunately, that was the best thing about this place. The jerk chicken pizza looked so pretty and the first slice tasted delicious. It all went downhill after that. Somehow the second half of the pie was burnt. So disappointing. The happy hour margaritas were basic at best. They came out the frozen machine but they were liquid. The mix tasted bad but they used a good enough tequila so no headaches. The decor is average nothing to compliment or complain about. It's not Instagram/Tik Tok worthy if that is important to you. They have a lot of sitting so that's great. The bathroom is clean. I am going to give them another chance but I was disappointed.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place, but it kinda fell flat for me. The aesthetic is a mix of like rustic, Mediterranean, board game cafe, local bar all wrapped in one, which I found confusing. Brewery in the name also doesn't make much sense to me since I didn't find beer to be a central part of their offering, but I'm personally not too particular on that front. The layout has a high table In the middle with board games, a bar on the right, then low seats on the wall to the left with pillows. The service was okay, but a bit awkward when we first walked in (this was a Sunday afternoon for reference). We weren't sure if you just sit down or wait to be seated. Our waitress was nice enough though. We ordered the wings and spicy chicken sandwich. I didn't like the spicy chicken sandwich, mainly because I didn't realize it was buffalo, which I'm not a fan of. That was my fault for not reading the menu correctly, but tbh overall I do think I could have had better at a fast food chain. My friend did like her chicken wings though, which the waitress had said was a popular choice. Based on reviews & the waitress's suggestion, it seems like the pizza might be what they're known for so that might have been a better option. Glad I tried it, but not sure if I'll be back--maybe if I wanted a drink, they seem like a nice casual spot for that.

Yelp
Came on a Sunday in the afternoon and there was available seating. The ambiance was simple - not vibey - there were board games, seats with pillows along the window, tvs, music playing. The food was okay - we got wings and the spicy chicken sandwich. Maybe the pizza or pasta might have been more memorable as that is what is popular on their menu. Service was reasonable - the person behind the bar was also the one servicing the tables.

Yelp
I loved the drinks and our bartender did her thing! It's Black owned and running well so why not visit this place. Music and games.

Andre A.

Yelp
This place is 100% NOT a brewery as they call themselves. They didn't have the Brooklyn IPA listed on the menu. They didn't have the cauliflower wings listed on the menu. They didn't have the grilled cheese sandwich my wife ordered. They didn't have the impossible burger my wife ordered as her second choice. However, they did give my wife spinach and cheese empanadas and an order of fries free of charge to make up for all the disappointments. The poppers were good. The empanadas were good. The herring pizza was good. We tried to support a local "black owned brewery" but unfortunately, Market Bar fell short. 2 stars because the service was good and so was the food we finally ended up with. **Here's a tip to all restaurants and bars - if you don't have something that's on the menu, either take it off the menu or tell people you are out of it before they spend time deciding on something order, only to be told it isn't available, and then go through this all over again once or even twice more. This happens to us way too often. This time I even called ahead and was told they have impossible burgers. Also - don't call yourself a brewery if you don't make beer. That's just outright intentionally deceptive business practice.

Yelp
Visited this spot with a friend and it went better than I expected. We came during happy hour and they have some pretty good deals. Cocktails are $10, wings are $1 and then you can get a 10" and a beer for $15. I will say that I wish they carried more beer options than the 3 they have on draft and the two bottled ones. The lychee martini is a MUST! The wings were super crispy and packed with flavor and the aioli it comes with was the perfect touch. Griot on pizza sounded alarming to me but was actually better than I anticipated. The portions here are a decent size so expect leftovers. Anya was our server and waitress and she was the sweetest and def took care of us. I foresee this place being packed during the summer months.

Geraldine E.

Yelp
I loved everything here, but I wanted more from the griot pizza. They put an ample amount of meat but it shouldve have less cheese. It overpowered the griot flavor. Their BBQ wings are good they actually have some heat to it so be aware. I enjoyed their frozen cocktails which were the frozen rum punch and the frozen margarita which I asked to be mixed. So refreshing and strong. They have board games here and sometimes they have a DJ. During happy hour wings are $1 and specials on beers and pizza. The service was pretty fast and the staff was friendly.

Yelp
It was a late night after a meeting in the middle of the week (Wednesday) and I needed to eat something warm fast. I knew about market bar through Instagram and friends so I decided to roll through. Luckily for me even after 10 pm, their kitchen was still open as opposed to only serving drinks. The people were generally nice when I asked about the menu and the options. It was a relatively quiet night with people hanging around the bar. People were watching various games on the flat screen TVs behind the bar. Because i had chicken earlier that day, i decided to get their pizza for a change. Wanting to try something different, I asked for their jerk chicken pizza. It was a bit of a wait but at least they were making my pizza fresh. In my opinion, the chicken was more on the sweeter side of jerk but it was a good flavor combo with the onion, peppers and tomato. I had asked for the smallest pizza possible (10 Inch) since I wasn't that hungry. I still had leftovers and I was able to get a pizza box to carry it home. I also had a Moscow mule and while it wasn't my favorite version of that drink, it was pretty decent. Overall, I'm willing to comeback again to see how it is during their happy hour and when it is more packed and lively. There is indoor and outdoor seating which is great for the summertime.

Yelp
Horrible service. No one greets you or acknowledge u . Then when you place a order . The guy never puts it in . Then he said he forgot. Then you wait 40mins. Thee Worst place to go . The food is pretty good . Been there several times . Still badd

Yelp
Probably the best Griot pizza and maybe the only Griot pizza I've ever had and It was the best. They were not selfish with the meat and provided a loaded pizza. The staff was welcoming and assisted with making my drink selection; A Passion fruit Margarita, layered with alcohol. Delicious!! The location is in central BK. The very chill spot that is great for a mid-day hang, easy dinner, or work chill spot... Basically anything.

Yelp
This is an amazing neighborhood spot. Their happy hour is SUCH a great deal and their pizza is one I crave often- their crust is clearly homemade and their authentic jerk chicken is choice! The bartender is so sweet and nice, and I love the board game vibes!

Christina C.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places in the neighborhood. They have amazing food and a great rum punch. The prices are affordable and the portions are worth it. I have tried many different dishes at different times; some of my favorites are the tacos, quesadilla, seafood pasta bowl, and pizzas (I've only had the cheese pizza). The food is well prepared and flavorful. The restaurant itself isn't so big but not cramped. They have outdoor seating and games to play as you dine or grab a few drinks with friends. It's very much a neighborhood bar type of atmosphere. The all the staff is pleasant and service is great!

Yelp
So I'm writing this review solely to address the "free venue space promotion" that market bar is advertising on social media platforms . 1st to be completely honest if you are looking for a place to host something and you don't want to pay , you are honestly better off walking in with your group of people and here's why ... 1. The reservation secures absolutely nothing . Does not give you any different treatment or space or anything . So honestly what's the point . 2. In my personal experience there is a lack of professionalism and communication between what seems to be the booking agent and the actual bar staff and management as I booked for a date and on the date upon arrival I was told by the server that she wasn't informed about my reservation . 3. The manager who ultimately had to be called to verify I had a reservation and to help me sort things out appeared for just about 15 minutes before disappearing for the rest of the night . 4. The drinks and food are overpriced and not good . 5. The female bartender has an attitude and while working my reservation went outside while on the clock to smoke weed and drink alcohol leaving the bar unattended for at least 30 minutes . Oh also the same aforementioned female bartender has a habit of picking up the phone when you call the bar to verify your reservation and leaving it on the counter with no intention of answering you until eventually you hang up . I also experienced this firsthand on the day of my reservation. All in all please find somewhere else to spend your hard earned money and if you absolutely must go here , don't make a reservation just walk in with however many people you want I promise it doesn't change the experience you will have at all . Overall would not recommend .

Yelp
Being new to the neighborhood, my roommate and I decided to try this place out. They serve coffee, food, and cocktails? Count us in! It was a Thursday night so not that busy which was perfect for us getting to know each other. It's a casual spot that isn't too noisy with a selection of yummy cocktails. They have fun games for folks to play while they hang out, and a number of books. They serve coffee and food so it isn't just a bar. I can see myself being a regular. Service was very sweet and attentive as well. Happy Hour is 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM and I'll definitely be swinging by for that. While we just got drinks (Lychee Martini was delicious) and appetizers (Fries, Mozzarella Sticks), I look forward to returning for food!

Yelp
go for happy hour, get the rum punch, and thank me later .. they are yummy, strong, and cheap!

Yelp
My partner and I are avid supporters of small businesses and really wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt after our first time here, so i waited to post this review. This is our second time here and our concerns were confirmed. Communication. First time, we were told sandwiches came with fries. They do not. This led to a weird confusion because I ordered fries separately as my meal (I wasn't very hungry) and my partner thought his sandwich would come with them. They brought only one order of fries, even after we confirmed with the bartender that the sandwich would come with fries. Upon bringing it up, he just shrugged. Fries are separate, even though the price of their handheld sandwiches is higher than most other places in this neighborhood. Second time here, the wait was HORRIBLE. We ordered Fresh Mozzarella (which we were told comes served like caprese with greens and tomatoes), the signature "Market Pizza", and a Green Salad with Buffalo chicken and ranch. It all arrived after we waited 45 minutes, but the restaurant was not busy. The mozzarella did not come with tomato or greens. It came with anchovies. This is not listed on the menu and the server mentioned nothing about it when asked. I hate seafood and my partner doesn't like anchovies. Instead of offering to remake it with no anchovies, the server just took the plate away. The salad was delivered with Italian dressing instead of ranch and no chicken. The pizza my partner ordered came without sausage, to which the server replied "yeah, the kitchen ran out of it". This was not communicated beforehand and we were still charged full price. This place is not good. Don't waste your time or money. If you are a supporter of small businesses there are plenty others open late on Flatbush like Midwood Flats or Fiona's bar.

Yelp
Been coming by for lunch the last couple days. The rum punch and burgers are fantastic 10 outta 10. Definitely come by. The service is great.
