Yelp
I've been in Vegas for about one year now, and this restaurant - this location, to be exact - is the ONLY one I consider my go-to restaurant in this city. At least for now.
(Some people have friends... I have restaurants that bring me comfort.)
I Yelped a place with good soup a week after I initially relocated to North Las Vegas. I was planning a surprise party (I don't plan parties), I was cold (sista is used to So Cal winters), and I wanted an adult beverage (this establishment only has wine, but that worked).
I was greeted warmly and was asked where I wanted my party of one to sit. I chose a half booth in the corner of the restaurant so I didn't have to be near anyone else (I was sulking) and so I could peep the scene - I am especially aware of my surroundings in new places and when I'm solo.
Anna stopped by my table, welcomed me, and told me she would be with me shortly as she made her way to the kitchen with arms full of dishes.
We were off to a great start... I can understand being busy - just acknowledge me!
Anna came back, made great eye contact, and asked if I'd been here before. When I said no, she pepped up even more and told me about the background of the restaurant, the family, and informed me of the specials. I am an avid question asker, especially in new restaurants and because Mediterranean isn't fare with which I have a lot of experience. She gave me her suggestions, shared what she likes, and explained customer favorites. I ended up trying the Avgolemono Soup and the Veganini Pie-zano (with my special instructions because I cannot order anything off a menu as is) with a glass of red wine. The food was delicious, Anna kept checking on me, and the vibe was just what I needed for my Grinch-y mood... people of different ages and cultures gathered joyfully at the tables around me (but still far enough away for me to be comfy).
I promised Anna I would be back - and I have been several times, always looking for her. I have taken my mom, my cousin, my uncle, and two friends from out of town, and ALL of them enjoyed our experiences here.
There is only one time I went on a Sunday afternoon (when Anna wasn't there) and the restaurant had a large party that absorbed most of the resources. The experience wasn't the best, but we all have off days.
In all honesty, I would come back just for Anna. She is so attentive and sweet and makes my dining experiences here lovely. But the fact that I truly enjoy the food, too, makes this place a winner for me.
