I was never really a coffee drinker, but I remember going to Market House for the first time on the day that they were closing. Or, should I say, getting renovated to be like a Starbucks within Disneyland Park.
I know there was lots of controversy regarding the demise of Market House--which has been a Park staple for years and was known for its coffee refills if you kept your receipt and cup--and I had to admit, it had a completely different feel and vibe once it turned into Starbucks.
I paid a visit to the revamped Market House during one of my more recent Park trips with my family. It was just too hot so all of us wanted something cold to drink. Plus, I figured now was as good a time as ever to get my hands on one of those really cute Disney Parks plastic cups.
You can not only find Starbucks drinks here, but also some of the Disney cookies and desserts (not as huge of a selection as Marceline's Confectionary or Pooh Corner, but you still have some choices). The lines here tend to be pretty long, but it moves because the cast members are pretty quick.
Here's what I got during this trip:
"Iced Caramel Macchiato": There was no way that I was getting a hot drink when it was scorching outside in the heat of summer. I think my caramel macchiato tasted even better just because it was in a Disney cup and I was enjoying it in Disneyland. I had to admit that the Disney Parks Starbucks cups were really cute, and I even bought a mug as a souvenir. I don't think I would choose to eat here when there are lots of other great places to eat in the Park, but if you're super thirsty/need a caffeine fix, Market House provides all the answers. My caramel macchiato tasted great -- it didn't have too much ice (and not enough liquid), and I could taste the caramel drizzle throughout.
"Iced Caffe Mocha": This is my go-to drink whenever I do visit Starbucks, so if I ever came back here, I would probably get this one. I really like this drink because of the chocolate flavor and I'm always sure to get it with soy milk.
"Mocha Frappuccino": I always get the Caffe Mocha, if anything, but I've never tried this Mocha Frappuccino before. If I'm in the mood for something a little sweeter--and more like a shake instead of just blended coffee--I would be down to try this one day.
"Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino": Desserts involving salted caramel intrigue me because I feel like salted caramel is a hit or miss type of thing. Some restaurants really nail it and provide the perfect blend; others miss the mark because they make the dessert/drink overly salty. I'm interested to see what this seasonal offering tastes like. I hope it's a great blend because it seems to be promising, as it features chocolate and caramel in an iced form.
