Market Tavern

We’ve walked by this place a hundred times on our way to the Farmers Market and The Grove but haven’t actually checked it out until today. We were pleasantly surprised that for an English pub, the food was pretty good!! Our server was really friendly and very accommodating with all our questions and requests. I was happy to also find out that they serve aperol spritz, which is my go to. So i definitely felt represented there. LOL! We came at happy hour and there were really good selections on their happy hour menu. We also heard that they were doing Trivia Night and sure enough, on our way home, the restaurant was packed. Must be a really fun activity to draw in some crowd. At times we’ve heard live bands playing so they do have live entertainment there on weekends I think. There are TVs playing sports channels and plenty of seating. Definitely a good place to hang out with friends, enjoy some beers, good food and good music. As their slogan says.. eat and drink and rock and roll!!

Very nice English pub with friendly staff. Well priced and good option of drinks. Great place to also watch English sports. Watched the Euros and it was a great atmosphere. Only reason I have given 3 stars is because the Caesar salad I ordered was very sad. It was more of an appetizer than an actual meal. They also validate for parking!

If you want to go and have chill and drinks this place is for you. And if you're hungry too ask for pizza it is very delicious 😋. Even the chef came out and asked if we like the food. So super recommended.

Updated review in December 2022: this place has improved significantly since my review from a couple years ago. The menu found its balance—creative British pub dishes with some inspired chef-created fun. Best proper chips in LA—served in a brown paper bag. Sunday roast night not to be missed. So happy to see the growth here. This place should be way more packed. Plenty of seating for what is back to being the best kept secret in Los Angeles.

Pretty large space for dining and drinks in the Farmer's Market. Seating indoors and out. Full bar with TV's to watch sports. Fish and chips are a must try, really large portion so you may be able to share. Food is fresh and the service is prompt.

Great time. Very busy Sunday with the soccer championship and the later the basketball championship games. Also a live band that was playing all the hits over the years . Really good. Hey best Fish and Chips in town. And don't forget dessert. Sticky toffee pudding over the top goodness

I visited several times for dinner. Always excellent and when they have a live band performing it is packed. Short rib cavatelli is my fave. Finally got to try their Sunday roast and it was absolutely fantastic. The roast beef was so tender and everything was so fresh. Portions are huge. They do sell out, so get there early on Sunday. I cant wait to return.

Amazing fish and chips! Super dog friendly restaurant. Hostess brought doggie treats and water as soon as we came in without asking! The owner is super nice, personally came greeted our dogs and make sure everything was going well. 🐶 Our waitress was very sweet…gosh what a wonderful experience, will def be back 😉
