Miami's Best Grocery Stores - Miami - The Infatuation

"Marky’s is a little market on the west side of 79th Street Causeway where you can stock up on some very fancy things, like caviar that costs a month’s rent and a whole king crab for almost $300. But there are also plenty of items for more reasonable budgets, like imported Eastern European snacks, wild boar prosciutto, and ready-to-cook escargot. It’s a fun place to browse and they also have a fish tank with live sturgeon." - Carlos C Olaechea, Ryan Pfeffer

But there are also plenty of items for more reasonable budgets, like imported Russian snacks, wild boar prosciutto, and ready-to-cook escargot. Marky's Gourmet offers an outstanding selection of high-quality products. The food is simply spectacular, with an exceptional level of freshness and flavor. Whether you're looking for gourmet ingredients or a unique culinary experience, this place truly delivers. Highly recommended!

Don’t come here if you don’t wanna get poisoned!!! It was my first time at this store today, and the moment I walked in I should’ve left just by feeling that precious smell. I got scared of deli section and decided to get some Russian candies. THEY WERE SPOILED AND EXPIRED BY AT LEAST A YEAR (you can see the picture I’m attaching as a proof). Those are so bad you can’t even chew them :):):):) beware and stay away from this store, especially if you are currently under medical attention and can’t get food poisoning in any way. Owners, I hope FDA will soon get you on their list, and you can chew some of your candies in the meantime…

Google
Great store for gourmet, imported, quality cheeses, wine, and other goods. I made the mistake and bought cheap apples but they were going bad. I did buy some really good comte cheese at discount here though and some other items. Staff were super helpful and on point. Highly recommend as an alternative to Whole Foods. Support local!

How lucky we are to have such a wonderful place like Marky’s in our city. We shop here at least 1x a week. You can find so many great products here from truffles, sausages, jamón, olives, wines, crazy good selection of cheese & meats and the best caviar, and so much more. You will find unique Eastern European products from canned fish, candy, and more! Another item we absolutely love is the fresh baked baguette! Once out of the oven they go quick. When we host we only serve dishes from Marky’s and our guest absolutely love everything.

This is the best store in Miami! A treasure for the most sophisticated gourmets) The most delicious French baguette is baked here every day. And of course, you will always be greeted by very polite and attentive staff with a smile. The best service 🫶🫶🫶

12/31/2024 A Unique Market for Gastronomic Treasures This market stands out as a haven for acquiring exceptional and hard-to-find products, making it a special destination for culinary enthusiasts. Food: The selection is unparalleled, featuring delicacies such as foie gras, caviar, champagnes, and French cheeses. These premium offerings cater to those with a refined taste and a desire for exclusivity. Service: The staff are attentive and knowledgeable, offering invaluable guidance through the extensive variety of products. Their expertise ensures a seamless shopping experience, especially for those unfamiliar with certain items. Ambiance: The market attracts visitors from around the world, drawn by its diverse selection. However, the exterior does not quite reflect the quality and luxury found inside. Conclusion: This market is undeniably a treasure trove for gourmet lovers and those seeking something truly special. A must-visit for anyone passionate about high-quality culinary delights.

Yelp
I had such a fantastic experience here! I walked in and the store smelled like fresh bread! IT was clean and stocked with so many goods. There were alot of employees walking around and one even helped me pick out a french butter. I got a fresh warm french baguette, kaluga and osetra caviars, truffle stracciatela (on sale, win!) sundried tomatoes, and creme fraise! Everything was delicious and not as expensive as i thought. My favorite items were the french butter, the kaluga hybrid, and the stracciatela! I just wish the location was closer to me.

Yelp
Went in with no idea what I wanted/ needed. My boyfriend loves caviar and I was trying to surprise him with a fun date night. The staff was attentive and supportive when it came to my questions. We made a caviar selection, took it home and ate the entire thing in about 4 minutes; it was DELICIOUS. I will be returning to Markys and you should too!

Yelp
We love Marky's but today the service was bad! What we purchased was great , This is. Not a restaurant is a market so there was no ambience at all ,

Yelp
I am writing to share my deeply disappointing experience with Marky's regarding an order I placed and to raise concerns about their handling of food safety and customer service. Order Details: I placed an order with Marky's on December 8, 2024, and selected December 21 as the delivery date. The order contained perishable items, and the delivery was supposed to be completed overnight. Tracking Issues: On the afternoon of December 21, I tracked the shipment and found that the package was still in Miami. Concerned, I contacted Marky's immediately and spoke with an agent who promised to follow up with FedEx and call me back. Lack of Follow-Up: By the afternoon of December 22, having received no update, I contacted Marky's again. Their representative stated that they were "looking into the issue" and promised to contact me soon. I also sent an email to their support team to express my concerns. Unacceptable Response: Later, I received an email from Marky's stating: "Marky's uses special, secure temperature and humidity-controlled packaging technology to assure safe food transportation to its destination. Please inspect your package upon arrival and let us know the conditions of the items, they should be cool to touch." This response demonstrated a complete lack of understanding of food safety regulations and ignored the critical issue that the perishable items were delayed far beyond the expected delivery time. Their suggestion to inspect the items upon arrival--despite a significant shipping delay--shows an unwillingness to acknowledge their responsibility or offer a refund. I am appalled by this lack of accountability and disregard for food safety standards. Perishable items delayed for this long are not fit for consumption, regardless of the packaging technology used.

Yelp
I ordered Marky's Classic Kaluga Caviar, Blinis, Crème Fraiche and mother of pearl spoon for Valentine's Day based on Danielle's recommendation and I was thoroughly impressed. Ordering was simple and the product shipped overnight. It was a special way to celebrate a special day!

Yelp
This is my favorite market of all time. It has so many cool things! I love exported stuff so I was in heaven when looking at the cheeses, wines, cured meats and pasties. Staff is also very helpful if you need help finding anything. This is the perfect place to come if you want to make a high end charcuterie board or if you want to impress your guests with caviar and fancy quality wine. Can't wait to find a reason to go back and splurge on yummy food.

Yelp
Amazing selection of caviar and gourmet products! The staff is super helpful, and everything is always fresh. My go-to spot for luxury food in Miami!

Owen S.

Yelp
Great spot for specialty foods! Their caviar is always fresh, and I love picking up little treats for special occasions. They have an incredible selection of gourmet items, and their staff knows the product well.

Sam S.

Yelp
What a gem! Marky's Gourmet on 79th has everything you need for a luxurious meal. I've been hooked on their caviar, but I also recently tried some of their smoked salmon and truffle products--everything was exceptional. The staff is friendly and willing to guide you through their selection. A true Miami treasure for anyone who loves fine dining at home.

Ben G.

Yelp
I came here for the caviar but was surprised by how many other unique products they offer. Miguel and Nadiya really helped me pick out the best options. Can't wait to return and try more!

Max G.

Yelp
I recently picked up some of their osetra caviar for a family gathering, and it was a huge hit! You can tell they care about quality and their customers. Will be coming back!

Yelp
In the world of luxury food products, Marky's has it all. From blinis to caviar to Italian salume, it's all there.

Yelp
Products are overpriced service is terrible and the food was really not good I don't know what else to say except that I probably will not be going there again.

Yelp
Marky's is my dream grocery store! They have a wide variety of gourmet products from pickled tomatoes to foie gras and caviar.

Yelp
Ethnic market with a variety of West European items that included a great selection of high end wine choices, breads, caviar, high, oils and a fantastic selection of chocolates and pastries. Really enjoyed to see the Greek sauces and the Russian chocolates. Will come back to continue discovering new items.
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
Whether you are an oligarch or a peasant, you will find something to like at Marky's. Eastern European products that range from pickles and buckwheat all the way to osetra caviar. And the staff is characteristically annoyed at having to deal with you, so it's like I'm back home :) They have other stuff too like meats and cheeses and even wine. Definitely a place I'll be visiting again in the future.
google avatar

Preston L.

Yelp
Everything in this store is top-of-the-line quality and fresh. Everything here tastes great when you put it in the dishes that you make, and the staff is very friendly. They also have products that you would never have believed! They have so many options when it comes to cooking meals. You just have to walk into the store to be inspired.
google avatar

Yelp
Best caviar in town for sure, old style European food store with quality food control and good prices. Nice atmosphere and very clean

Jorge C.

Yelp
If you like luxury foods and enjoy terrible service then THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! ... it's a necessary evil since they have a decent inventory of imported cheeses, charcuterie and caviar. I have been going to Marky's since the mid 90's and the service has gone from bad to absolute disaster .... THEY ARE SO RUDE .... THE EMPLOYEES OF THAT STORE NEED A LESSON IN MANNERS. A lot of the imported foods in local gourmet shops is supplied by Marky's anyways, so it's better to go to a friendly shop or buy from alternative vendors on-line. IF YOU MUST GO TO MARKY'S .... GO IN, GET WHAT YOU NEED AND RUN OUT .... AND REMEMBER, JUST BECAUSE THEY SOURCE LUXURY FOOD DOESN'T MEAN THEY PROVIDE LUXURY SERVICE ... so don't expect it .... IT IS NO DEAN AND DELUCA .... NOT EVEN CLOSE !
google avatar

Yelp
AFFORDABLE LUXURY! Be like Tom and Donna and treat yo'self! I've driven past Marky's nearly every day on my way home from work, and I always think, "I should check that place out". Well, today was the day! They have a gated parking lot with plenty of free parking and I think they're the only retail in the mini-plaza. So far, so good! They had a sign on the door stating they have reserved the first hour the store is open for the elderly and they will be limiting the number of people they let in. There were few other customers, so in we went! We immediately encountered a table with latex gloves in small, medium and large sizes - super considerate! I was amazed at the sheer volume of luxury items from Europe and Central Asia that Marky's contains. Anything you can imagine eating and drinking while lounging on the bow of Richard Branson's mega-yacht, they stock; including (but not limited to): caviar, bottarga, foie gras, French wines and cheeses, quail eggs, sweets, wagyu beef, jamon iberico, smoked fish, escargot, baked goods, dried fancy mushrooms, TRUFFLE EVERYTHING! In addition, they have a deli counter with a limited menu of sandwiches. The prices are high if you're comparing them to "regular" grocery items, but it's a bargain for high end goods. I checked in on Yelp and got a 10% off. Of course, I couldn't pull up the deal when I was ready to check out, but the woman behind the counter kindly gave it to me anyway. She also took great care when packing the items and included mini- ice packs with the frozen goods. All in all, Marky's is a great experience, from the selection to the service!

Yelp
The customer service at Markys is terrible. I've ordered 2 orders in the past month. The 1st one never arrived and the 2nd one arrived spoiled. I've now contacted customer service via all platforms 10 times....no response. Don't try calling because they just make excuses and hang up on you. Do not buy anything from Markys. Highly DO NOT RECOMMEND. TERRIBLE.
google avatar

Alejandro R.

Yelp
Beautiful cozy boutique style dining. Unbelievable hospitality and food. Special thank you to Marlon for unbelievable eats and service. Recommend and will be back again.
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
Not your typical market. The market offers an extensive selection of gourmet and Russian products. I thought the products would be very expensive, but I found their prices to be reasonable for the high end products. They have Caviar, Foie Gras, Duck Confit just to name a few of their hard to find items. I found lavender jam which I bought and loved. They have a great selection of Belgium Beers. If you fInd yourself in need of gourmet hard to find items visit Marky's. You will definitely find what you are looking for.

Yelp
I placed an order on 8/22/2021 for Frozen Carrillera Iberico de Bellota -cheeks Item # 082523 and paid a good amount of money for them to arrive next day (shipped overnight) fed ex. I have no idea when they actually packed my order but it arrived at 10:15 am 8/24/21 and the paperwork says it shipped 8/23/21at 12:16 pm. It was packed with 3 very small ice packs in a cardboard box, not a Styrofoam box for shipping frozen or cold food items. Needless to say the pork ribs as NOT frozen and had a nasty/fowl smell and needed to be tossed. I called the customer service number and was told it "should be fine to cook and consume. It stays fresh fir a long time and can be refrozen. Idk about anyone else but refreezing spoiled meat in my freezer only to later thaw and cook spoiled meat is not something I would ever consider. Yes, it is warm everywhere but they didn't could do a better job in packaging the meat TJ insure it arrives still frozen or at least fresh enough to cook same day. I'm very disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
I oredered this stuff for a celebration that has already passed...they took my money and i never heard anything again. They don't answer the phone or emails and they sure didn't send my package or give me my money back

Yelp
Love this gem of a market!!!!!!!! If you love the finer delicacies (caviar, fois gras, cheese) to make an amazing charcuterie board..come here. Amazing prices and great choices. I've been coming here to pick up a baguette daily and stocking up on cheeses as a weekly errand. Venue: (4/5) not exactly the easiest to get to...but worth the trek. The store is Covid safe (masks are worn) and displays are easy to get your wallet to be spent. Food (5/5) prices fairly gourmet foods Service (4/5) nice people and helpful

Yelp
I found this place when I was looking for the closest Russian grocery store near me. I moved from Virginia to Miami and I had a wonderful Russian store near me there so I was looking for something similar. And boy did I lucked out with this place. They have everything you will want. From a deli counter where they sell bologna, kielbasas and some delicious Napoleon and honey cake to freezer full of varenikov, pelmeni, marinated herring, salads. This place has it all! Even my mom who came to visit from Russia was surprised at the selection they have. One small tip, check the expiration dates on some items. I grabbed braided smoked cheese and realized it was expired. It happens, I still love the store. You can make a really nice Russian New Years table spread with everything from this store. This place is little piece of home for me!!

Nathalie B.

Yelp
I placed an order, received my order with an item missing. Sent 8 emails, 2 requests from the website... no answer Called twice to talk with someone who told me she will send the message and no mews again. Never seen this in my life. Not sure what's happening at Markys but this is not acceptale. When u place and pay for an order , u expect receiving your items or a refund if they are out of stock. They basically owe me money but instead of apologizing and refunding me, they are ignoring me!!!

Tatiana G.

Yelp
Last time bought chicken liver pate- spoiled today opened bologna veal chunk- the same. I soent more money to bring it and return!!! And friend told me they have it all the time!!! People, you are not in Russia, with such quality- you can be sue. When I returned- no one was even surprised- it proof it's normal in this store.
google avatar

Rich P.

Yelp
I bought the Burgundy truffle (about 1 oz.). It arrived overnight when shipped and looked great and intact. Maybe using it 3 days later was a mistake but it had zero flavor. We immediately used the rest for truffle butter and after a week of fridge time ( hoping the truffle would flavor the butter) .... Nothing. Always a gamble but Markys is reducing the price on the Burgundy truffles and I recommend to not buy them. Nothing against Markys but the truffles are duds.

Sean M.

Yelp
Fresh truffles tasted stale. No aroma or flavor. My guess, old truffles thawed and sent. They arrived today and I shaved half of one and grated another and put over pasta. Haven't tried the truffle butter or ink, but I'm sure they will be good. Disappointed in the quality of the truffle.

Richard G.

Yelp
The experience at Markys was the worst experience that I have ever felt at a super market. My fiancé and I were racially profiled and their employees followed us around the store. I only spend money where I am welcomed and I won't be coming back to this establishment.
google avatar

Rich H.

Yelp
As others have written, Marky's sells a lot of nice Russian, French and other foods. I've been a generally happy customer for three years (which is why I upgraded them to two stars after my last, awful experience). Occasionally I've noticed that their fresh imported items from Russia have been in the final stages of 'fresh.' But last week I bought some Russian pickled herring (see pic) that tasted terrible. After experiencing the disgusting taste of rotten fish I examined the container to find that there was NO expiration date (see attached pic). Shame on me for buying fish with no freshness date and shame on Marky's for selling it. In the future I will buy fish imported from Scandinavian countries that have rule of law. Please be extra vigilant when shopping at Marky's.
google avatar

Daniella S.

Yelp
The best thing about this place is that it's literally two blocks away from me so I basically to walk run and get some gourmet cheeses and the Lagarde knives and out of there with my wine and apricots in a jiffy. It's a great place all year round and today on Christmas Eve it's open till five and has amazing assortment of gifts to give to people you love. You will find amazing products with the quality that the Russians have including their packaging it is a delightful place to come especially I think for Christmas it just has that sort of feel to it. Park right in front on the side street and it's pretty easy to find the outside looks is deceiving because inside it's like a little treasure chest tho outside kind of dingy. I love this place it reminds me of Movkba.

Yelp
What an amazing selection of gourmet items! I'm from NYC & I have never seen such an abundance!

Yelp
Back around 1983, the two Mark's started this business. I recall how hard both of them worked. They would use the airline I worked for to transport their goods paying cash for the air cargo transport. I saw their hard work and was the first airline to extend credit to them.... that is how much I trusted them and was proud to extend this benefit at the starting era. Mark Z. became not only a trusted customer but a friend. With all that is going on with Ukraine, I have been thinking if any family was still there. I hold on to one of the gifts he gave me from UA. Well, a picture of that gift is attached, do you remember? Years later I lost contact but always remember you Mark Mikhaelevic Zaslavsky ( I hope my memory is still good and close to rhe correct spelling), and see how successful you have become. I recently went to the Hard Rock Hotel with my husband and saw you have a restaurant there. Wow, how far you can get with hard work, perseverance and overcoming challenges. You were always an inspiration to me for pushing beyond limits, and also for introducing me to caviar. I wish you and yours all the best, and may you have a wonderful holiday season. AND PEACE FOR UA.

Yelp
Marky's Gourmet is a one of a kind store located in an area of Miami that's completely unsuspecting where a few years ago, you could argue, was the ghetto; don't get me wrong...it's still a rough neighborhood but it's better than it was before and it's getting better at a snail's pace. I've been around this area for some time now and this intersection has been dictacting what happens in the area in a quarter mile in each direction. Head west and you're in the heart of Little Haiti, also a an area screaming to improving its' surroundings, but make sure you keep your doors locked and windows shut at night cause the night walkers are omnipresent. With the tear-down of the old Immigration Building on 79th Street and Biscayane, plus all the MiMo storefront upgrades taking place, Marky's now seems like a cool hip fit place where you can go to spend your complete paycheck on things that would make your palate melt. They carry everything Whole Foods doesn't on a completely different tier, like $130.00 for an ounce of Beluga caviar. How about some fresh White Truffle for $1650.00 a pound! Well in this case (see photo) you're only getting .09 of a pound for only $148.50 which would definately wake up your Chicken Alfredo. I've boughten fresh black truffle here before for around half the price but they were sold out this particular day. They have an array of really amazing seafood but of the hard to come by kind as you can see from my photos, and that's not including their wines, cheeses, foie gras, cold cut choices that would leave Boar's Head in the dust plus so many more items your grocery list would dream of. The list of specialty items are unending and it's something you'll need to experience for yourself. Prices are high as expected but this is the top of the food chain so expect to spend a few dollars if you're looking to impress your Saturday night guests. Customer service has always been friendly; the owner is very knowledgeable and helpful at the same time and always happy to answer questions. For those who can afford to shop here, it's paradise, and to those who can't, well there's Sabor Tropical Supermarket about a quarter-mile west that can handle all your needs.

Yelp
Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great. Bbbbbb. Nn nnn nnnnn it's easy good place got everything really cool

Andres P.

Yelp
This place isn't worth it if you are ordering delivery, I tried ordering three sandwiches 3 times to have them all canceled and when I called the place to ask if there was anything wrong the man on the phone was immediately confrontational and rude accusing me of canceling the orders myself .. I tried explaining that was not the case but he kept talking louder continuing to blame me for the canceled orders... in the end I just said I was simply trying to order some food from them but clearly they weren't interested in assisting me so I said thank you and hung up... not worth the drama, find some other place with better work ethic and where the people in charge aren't rude and confrontational. And it's clearly a regular thing with them as you can see by reading a lot of the other reviews.

Yelp
Went here because I saw on IG about the king crab, I called them and they said they had it. Stopped by after work and was surprise by the store, they had so many stuff from Russia and other from Europe. If you are in the area, you need to stop by to see all of these imported goodies. Will definitely be back for more Crab.

Yelp
Wow weve been living here in the neighborhoods for 4 years and our first time visiting... So much to choose from.. Am in Love!!! Wendy is so knowledgeable couldnt get enough.. So helpful loved her...

Yelp
Everything I have ever ordered from Marky's has been great with one exception, so I would have given them 10 stars, but had to deduct at least 1 for my last order of Sterlet. Since it had a price point just above that of their Hackleback, and the description said it was closer to an Ossetra and the egg pearls looked larger in the photo, I was expecting it to be better. But it was not even close to as good as Hackleback or even American White Sturgeon, and not even as good as lower-priced Paddlefish roe. This is the first time I have ever had white specks of some kind of hard chewy crunchy crud or membrane in any caviar, that stuck to my teeth exactly like the tiny bits of honeycomb wax in unfiltered honey. Also had a bitter aftertaste and more fishy smell than I am used to in any quality caviar. Still love their products, but sadly this last one was an unexpected dud.

Tony B.

Yelp
I have purchased Russian caviar for New Years Eve for the last several years. Always have been happy with the product. This year the caviar was like paste when I opened the jars up. The caviar must have gotten warm in transit. I called to ask if it was safe to consume. Was transferred 3 times and never rec a return call. Pretty poor customer service. Tony B Chicago, IL

Suzanne C.

Yelp
Once again went to visit Marky's today and purchased some Beef Hot Dogs. When I got home I noticed the item had expired 12 days ago. Everytime I purchase herring, salads or cheese it's expired. If you want to sell expired items, place a 50 percent red sticker on it. Called the store a friendly gentleman asked me to return them and they will give me a discount, yeah what? Someone needs to look into this establishment. My four hot dogs were $7.89, I know they are probably still good but they should not sell expired items at top dollar.

Yelp
Marky's is one of those unique stores that you should visit, it is like a grocery store with unique items. Marky's is located off NE 79th Street Miami, there is ample parking as there is a huge lot in front of the location. After being inside for a little while I realized they had a lot of Russian goods and from other parts of the world. Upon further investigation I realized it was and after speaking with one of the workers they told me the owner was Ukrainian who had left his country when things were difficult and opened up in 1980. Initially it was supposed to be a small deli grocery but in 1983 the owner Mark started to import and export caviar and smoked salmon. The Russian Shop as it is called gradually expanded to become more of a one stop convenience store selling Russian candles, caviar, meats, cheeses, fine wine and champagne. Their caviar which seems to be their specialty boasts a lot of variety. There are over 21 types of caviar from the classic black sturgeon caviar to the salmon roe even the red tobiko sushi caviar. The cheeses are also extensive, there are a lot of different types of cheeses including the blue veined cheese, Parmesan and Gouda. Online you could get over 600 different types of cheese. Also they do offer online shopping where you would have a wider variety of products, if there is any sort of ingredients you may need to make that special dish you would have a good chance of finding it online. I would definitely recommend anyone to check this place out as there are definitely unique stuff that I have not seen anywhere else in Miami.
