Best Restaurant Dishes Eater NY Editors Ate This Week, November 10, 2025 | Eater NY

"Cozy and ideal for fall, this new addition serves a roasted kabocha squash that’s caramelized with curry and a miso sauce that has a bit of heat, topped with both pepper and yuzu gelees and sprinkled with sesame seeds; it sits on hearty farro cooked in aromatics, mixed with kale, and garnished with fragrant Thai basil ($38). I savored every bite, with a view of the illuminated street through a huge second-floor casement window, and plan to come back on a snowy night to take photos from that perch and enjoy this warming plate again." - Nadia Chaudhury

Had top 10 best dinners of my life the other night at Marlow. The overall ambience of the restaurant is beautiful and intimate. The restaurant is divided into two floors which kept it very cozy for our party of three. The waitstaff were all very pleasant and attentive. But the main star was the food that we ate! It’s always a good sign when most of the conversation revolves around the food because of how amazing it was. We even had the pleasure of meeting Chef Braxton and you can tell that the menu is essentially him. Everything on the menu was meticulously thought out, executed perfectly, and almost entirely novel. We started with their incredible bone marrow dish topped with tartare and caviar. We had an impressive seafood platter which was delicious, came with a small jar of caviar, and the jumbo shrimp was served with an amazing cocktail sauce. We also had their fried chicken, a citrusy radicchio salad, a crispy halibut, jerk oxtail pie, foie gras, and croquettes. The food was incredibly impressive and I would love to come back!

Google
One of my best dining experiences on the UES! Food was great! Prices were high, but you feel ok paying them, because of the quality of the ingredients and great execution! The restaurant feels modern and light, not stuffy and old, like many restaurants of this caliber. And the great service adds to the experience! Bravo!

Delicious food & drinks. Cool ambience. Lovely staff. We have enjoyed every dish we've had at Marlow. The Roasted Kabocha Squash and Salmon dishes are our favorites. Our server René had great recommendations and was sweet and attentive.

Google
definitely a fancy restaurant not so much bang for your buck but this is for rich upper east side people i imagine. good vibes , i liked the staff but a few times we worked pretty hard to get a waiter when we wanted a wine list stuff like that took a while. mixed drink was fantastic and tuna crudo obviously was excellent. i also really liked the halibut. i’ve never ate halibut but have caught thousands of fish including fluke and flounder. everyone else got the burger it seemed. good vibes good time.

We had dinner last night. The ambiance is amazing, the place is beautifully designed and has a very upscale vibes. The service was impeccable We had the Tuna crudo and Cesar salad for starter- they were really good. The main course- requires some adjustments. The fish was good, tasty in a well flavored sauce. However the Lobster spaghetti (which was recommended by the team) was a big miss. Flavorless, and the lobster pieces were hard. The team were very nice wanting to replace that dish, but we were done already. Overall great place but with just a handful of selection of main dishes on the menu , you can’t have a miss like that on the menu, everything needs to be divine.

Marlow East is a true standout on the Upper East Side. From the moment you walk in, you’re met with warmth, attentiveness, and a level of hospitality that feels rare in the city. The space is beautifully designed, striking the perfect balance between modern elegance and neighborhood charm. The food? Thoughtful, refined, and full of heart. Every dish is crafted with care and creativity, offering bold flavors without ever feeling overdone. It’s clear the team here knows exactly what they’re doing—both in the kitchen and in creating a memorable dining experience. It’s officially one of my go-to spots—not just for incredible food, but for the kind of atmosphere that makes you feel genuinely welcome every time.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and had a wonderful celebration. Magnificent food and delectable cocktails. I must praise the staff especially for their attentiveness and friendly/welcoming attitude. Special thanks to Denis and Christina for arranging our anniversary surprise! We will definitely be returning for future major celebrations. 10/10 all around!

Google
We had a wonderful experience at Marlow East! Our server, Denis, was exceptionally professional, kind, and attentive throughout the lunch. Even when some unexpected things happened during our meal, he handled everything with such grace and efficiency — truly impressive. The food was absolutely amazing — beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. We left so happy and grateful for the great service and dining experience. Highly recommend both Denis and Marlow East!

Yelp
WOW! What an amazing experience! Our server, Otto, was absolutely wonderful -- friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. We had the deviled eggs, lobster spaghetti, and chocolate tart, and everything was incredible. My wife and I enjoyed every minute, thanks also to the lovely manager Lara, who made sure everything was perfect. We'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
We had such a wonderful experience here! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly everyone made us feel welcome without being overbearing. The ambience was spot-on elegant yet relaxed, with a great vibe that made it perfect for a special night out. The food was absolutely fantastic. The halibut was perfectly cooked tender, flaky, and full of flavor, and the steak was one of the best I've had in a long time, juicy and cooked exactly to temperature. Every dish was beautifully presented and well-balanced. Overall, an amazing evening all around, great service, beautiful atmosphere, and incredible food. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Marlow East is the new hot spot on the ues. I read about it in a New York Post article and decided to give it a try, and it did not disappoint. The staff were friendly, the service was excellent, and the food was very good too.I ordered the lobster pasta and the chicory salad to share, both of which were very nice. My husband had the special of the day, a veal dish, which he found to be very flavorful and tasty. The ambiance is very chic, and enjoying drinks at the bar after dinner is a must in my opinion.

Yelp
Walked in for an impromptu lunch heading to the Met. They took us right away. The restaurant is very pretty, and service gracious. Renee took care of us, just the right amount of attentiveness. Spouse had the burger w cheddar (we live in the South and pimento cheese is controversial, don't start) which he inhaled. I had the wedge, fresh and the basil oil drizzle was delicious. The remarkable item was the onion dip that came with the fries... just serve that on bread already! Next time, will stop in for brunch.

Yelp
I'm a deeply layered human being. I love the run down mom and pop no frills restaurant ran with pure soul & grit, but every now and then, I love a white table clothed beautifully curated environment that charges $30 for a burger with no fries and makes me feel like I'm James Bond. Can't a guy enjoy both? I needed a day off of my beloved rotisserie chicken and my lady just moved to the Upper East Side. Her Mom was in town helping her move, so we all headed to the newly opened Marlow East to celebrate. We walked into an environment that made me question if I was underdressed in a brown long sleeved Theory polo and jet black Zara slacks, before we were seated at one of the high top tables. We ordered the Tuna Crudo ($25), Lobster with green curry ($32), Halibut ($48), and the Burger ($32). I also got a Vesper because, again, I was feeling like a Casino Royale James Bond. This Crudo... man. I don't even know where to start. Thick cuts of quality tuna in a light bed of black vinegar, it just changed me. I'd drink this black vinegar. I was savoring every bite, likely the best crudo I've had in my life. I didn't think I was even going to like the Lobster with green curry, avocado, and mango because who puts those ingredients together? What even is that? But it was SPIRITUAL. What an innovation. I must take a moment to shoutout Braxton Decker, the Executive Chef here, because what an innovation. This damn near had me slow clapping. The Burger and Halibut were phenomenal as well, but those appetizers truly blew us away. When the bill slowly approached the table, my Chase Sapphire Preferred Card was covering his eyes awaiting the heavy smack in the face, but my gfs Mom ended up covering the whole thing. I even made 2 real attempts to pay because it's the right thing to do, but she ended up hitting me with a firm "ABSOLUTELY NOT." We live to fight another day. Yelp
1 Star -- Absolutely Overrated and Disappointing I rarely leave reviews, but Marlowe East was so bad it felt like a public service to warn others. From the jump, this place felt like it was all about looks, no substance. Our waiter insisted we had to order everything at once, and when we asked simple portion questions -- like "Should we share the steak?" or "How big is the lobster pasta?" -- he confidently said both were "big." Spoiler alert: they were not. The steak came out as TWO tiny pieces, with "truffle" that had absolutely zero truffle flavor. I'm extremely sensitive to truffle -- this was either fake or nonexistent. The lobster pasta? Laughably small. The burger was bare, no frills, and to top it off, the fries (which they charge extra for) came out cold. We told the waiter, he offered to bring more... and then just never did. Appetizers were no better. Tuna tartare? Child-sized. Caesar salad? Even smaller -- looked like something off the kids' menu. Shrimp cocktail was passable, but nothing memorable. We waited way too long for food, though to their credit, they offered us complimentary drinks. One of the only decent gestures of the night. Eventually, we asked to speak with the manager. Told him how confusing and disappointing the steak portion was -- again, two pieces -- and that the waiter never explained anything. Manager shrugged and told us "It says 8 oz on the menu" (it doesn't), and completely dismissed our concerns. Not a single attempt to make it right. Needless to say, we skipped dessert. We won't be back and I wouldn't recommend Marlowe East to anyone. The staff is clueless, the food is weak and overpriced, and the vibe is pretentious without any of the quality to back it up. Good luck, but I honestly don't see this place lasting

Yelp
Beautiful new, chic restaurant in the neighborhood! When you first walk in there is a beautiful bar and great romantic lighting. The waiters and staff are so welcoming and accommodated our baby and stroller which we were so thankful for. The food and drinks are so delicious! We ordered a martini and a tequila hard drink and both came out strong and tasty. For food we started with the tuna crudo and Caesar salad - both super fresh and full of flavor. For our mains we had the famous Gnudi with truffle and the halibut. The sauce on the halibut was divine! The best halibut I have had. The Gnudi was of course delicious and the truffle was an excellent touch. For dessert we had the homemade panna cotta which was topped with beautiful pistachios. This is one of the nicest high end restaurants on the upper east side, so sophisticated. Thank you to Alex the manager for taking great care of us!

Yelp
The restaurant is very beautiful. The food was good , however high price, small portions . They need to add garnish to sandwich selections , ie hamburger , no fries or small green salad.

Yelp
Service was good, food was decent, and the dining room is somewhat on the upscale side. Not sure why their rating is so low. We shared a market green salad, ordered the pork chop and sweet corn Agnolotti for main and ended the meal with the ice cream sundae.

Yelp
Great place to grab a delicious lunch. Had the burger, which was perfectly prepared. Friendly staff who squeezed us in without a reservation.

Yelp
Came across this gorgeous place by accident and we loved it, we were lucky to score a seat at the bar, which was very quickly packed. The music and the vibe was so good, made us want to stay and drink the whole night .. It was packed on a Tuesday night.. Great choice.

Ben L.

Yelp
My wife and I went there yesterday for lunch. We did not have a reservation and were given a bar side high chair table. In about a half hour later 3 white women came without reservation but they were given a table. We are Asian Americans. We have been living in the upper east side over 35 years and this is the first time anything like this happened. Obviously we would not go back there. If you read this and still go there, you know what you are

Yelp
Ambiance was great -- very New York, trendy Upper East Side vibe with stylish décor and good energy. We ordered the steak, halibut, and burger. The steak and halibut were both delicious, but unfortunately served cold, which was surprising and disappointing. The burger was the biggest letdown -- too thick and lacking in flavor. Overall, a beautiful setting with potential, but the food execution needs improvement. I'd still recommend it for a special occasion, business dinner, or even a casual get-together.

Yelp
I was very excited for Marlow to finally open. We live right down the street and was looking forward to making this place one of our neighborhood go to places. We have been to the bar a couple of times and always had amazing drinks and food (pictures from when I was allowed to sit at the bar) Unfortunately last week we were walking down the street and decided to pop in for a drink and maybe an appetizer. As we made our way to the bar the hostess made a beeline toward us and asked us to leave as my attire was not appropriate. I just came from my office and have worn similar outfits in the past and my wife was in a sports jacket as she was coming from work. Not sure what vibe they are looking but they have lost a customer. BTW that night we walk to BLT and Roberto welcomed us with open arms at tbe bar. One very disappointed neighbor.

Yelp
The restaurant is pretty and we were hopeful. Best: the cocktails were good! I would come back for drinks Food wise... It was ok food but the portion was quite small even by ues standard. It's hard to justify coming back.

Yelp
A refreshing, elegant and delicious new place in the neighborhood. Nice bar, delicious cocktails and good food. We had a few cocktails, delicious croquettes and a great chicken and burger.

Yelp
1 - 70 minutes into dinner and still had not gotten our entrees. The service was all over the place. 2 - Very small portions. 3 - The food was average at best. Salads were flavorless and extremely tiny portions, deviled eggs were small and just three half-eggs, the burger was a sad rendition of a burger, the lobster pasta was cold and had a total of a spoon-full of lobster, the fish dish was decent, ... 4 - Prices are way too high for what you get. $27 for a glass of ok cabernet. $325 for a dinner for three with no dessert. 5 - Decor is nice and clean. The ambiance was nice. 6 - Overall, another overrated restaurant that likely wont make it for more than a couple of years.

Emma W.

Yelp
Amazing ambience, fantastic drinks, and Alek is the cherry on top. Anytime I'm in the UES I'll be coming back.

Yelp
Good food, service great. Marlow is one of those rare spots that feels special without trying too hard, with great food, and beautiful ambience.
