Ooooh I love this little unassuming bar on Gallatin. Our good friend is a regular here, and I'm so glad to be in the know on this hidden gem.
While Martha My Dear has some elements of a dive bar (moody lighting, vintage decor), it's actually quite clean and very inviting. The red booths are comfy, and the ambiance is just right - not too loud that you can't hear your friends speak, but not too quiet that you're listening to the conversation at the table next to you.
Although they were busy on a Friday night, it wasn't packed to the brim like many of the other bars in East Nashville on weekends. We were able to get our drinks quickly, and the bartenders were very friendly! I ordered the Tipsy Jitters, which is their version of a White Russian. Our bartender recommended swapping the vodka for rum sometime, which I'll definitely do on my next visit.
Martha also has a nice beer and wine selection, and their happy hour deals are great too. ($10 craft cocktails in East Nashville every day? Say less.)
