"Whenever we’re underwhelmed with a hot new bar opening, we always find ourselves back at Martha My Dear. It’s a slightly swanky-looking neighborhood bar where you can always find a $10 pour of the week, like a white Negroni or frozen piña colada float. (Not to mention, any cocktail on the menu is just $10 from 5-7pm every ding dong day.) Their red leather booths are a likely place to run into that barback you worked with back in the day or that person you bought a couch from on Marketplace. And every Tuesday, you can snag something from the rotating food trucks parked outside to go with your two-for-one beer. In the past, we’ve seen Guyanese street food, Latin American hot dogs, and seriously loaded burgers." - ann walczak, bailey freeman, adam sloan

"THE DEAL: $10 Cocktails, $2 off Wine, $1 off Beer During Happy Hour at Martha My Dear, every cocktail is only $10 and they have a rotating pour of the week. It could be something like the Half Moon made with rye whiskey and cognac, or the Devil’s Advocate, a mix of mezcal, Batavia (a fermented red rice spirit), black currant liqueur, and lime juice. Take some time to admire the bar space, too—it reminds us of our high school friend’s parents’ basement. There’s a pool table, colorful holiday lights strung from the ceiling, neon signs, a stained glass window, and neighbors who are still in pajamas ordering their “usual.”" - adam sloan
"Pop into this East Nashville neighborhood bar for a “hanging [out] in your grandparent’s basement bar” vibe, but with excellent cocktails, a pool table, and snacks like reuben sliders and chocolate chip cookies. The interior is cozy and filled with ornate touches like string lights, a pressed tin bar, and green leather-topped stools. The happy hour specials are cozy, too, with $10 cocktails, $2 off wine, and $1 off beer every day from 5 p.m.-7 p.m." - Ellen Fort
