Martin’s Home & Garden is hands-down the best places around for high-quality plants. Their selection is incredible—whether you’re looking for perennials, annuals, shrubs, or houseplants, they always have healthy, vibrant options to choose from. The staff is knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what they do, which makes shopping there a great experience.

My mom and I have gone here for years. They always have a vast selection and right now they have a huge variety of colors for their pumpkins. They have so many gorgeous plants and the workers are always so nice! Their plants are a little pricier compared to other places.

We’ve been customers at Martin’s Home and Gardens for years and have been purchasing the bulk “organic” mushroom garden soil mix for years. When we added it to our new raised beds this year, we found a plastic bottle, manure chunks, a rubber glove and other trash. We spoke to the manager and learned that the soil comes from a farm that is not organic. We learned that horse and cow manure with other stuff is added to the soil. It takes 18 to 24 months for agricultural chemicals that are used on farms where cattle and horses graze and from the hay they eat on to dissipate from the soil. The Farm most likely uses these chemicals and to promote the soil as organic is very misleading. We spoke to the manager, and he was not interested in trying to resolve the issue. If you’re looking for organic soil, this isn’t it. Martin’s Home and Gardens just lost a longtime customer.

Google
I love Martin’s! They have the best selection of quality flowers, plants, and trees around. The service and help from the staff makes picking out exactly what you are looking for so easy. And you’ll find all the extras to keep everything healthy and growing as it should. I also love looking in the shop for the best locally grown vegetables and gifts for every occasion! They offers so many services so check out Martins!

Google
I love Martin’s. The team there has been insanely helpful with educating me about different flowers, grasses, trees and what would suit my home landscaping best. I am from the Chicago area which is an entirely different zone and has different soil, so everything has been a learning curve for me. But I have enjoyed working with them so much that I leveraged their landscape design team for a consultation and project. Their designer, Sydney was amazingly professional and efficient from start to finish. She was clear in her communication and outlined the expectations of the project. I’m extremely happy with the new landscaping along my back fence and would recommend her to anyone looking to beautify the outdoors of their home! Thanks Sydney and the team at Martin’s… I’ll be back!

Google
This is a great place, they carry lots of plant selections and they also carry stuff that was made or grown by the Amish community. The thing that makes this place great is the quality of stuff they do carry and the quality of the staff that runs this place. Nobody bugging you the whole time your there plus when you need them they are polite and knowledgeable about the stuff they carry.

Located in Murfreesboro off broad street is this delightful little home and garden. They offer pot ups when you purchase a plant and pot. They also have variety with their selection of plants. From produce to tropical to cactus plants they’re selection is wide. Located in the front of this location is also a market with produce, jams , preserves, honey, marmalade, jelly’s and sauces.

Google
Best nursery in town. I have shopped here for many many years and I'm always impressed with the quality level of their plants and products. They are definitely not the cheapest in town but the age old adage of you get what you pay for is absolutely true in this place. They truly care for and nourish all of their plants. If you want the best this is the place.

Yelp
Since when are pots so expensive? Asking for a friend. lol I obviously live under a rock. I was pleasantly surprised how nice this nursery is. They have everything you can think of for your garden. Plants, pots, watering cans, soil, fertilizer etc. it's bigger than it looks from the outside. Pricing, I honestly don't know how it compares to others. But I felt like paying $43 for a pot was too much. Was it beautiful, sure was. I didn't interact with the staff much but they were helpful. Selection I felt was plenty.

Yelp
This is truly a one-stop-shop for all of your gardening needs! I love frequenting Martin's throughout spring time as I get my garden prepped and growing, and, after a few years of having this as my primary garden center, I can say that I have never been disappointed. Their selection is better than any other local nursery I've been to (I've been to most of them at this point), the employees are extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and the quality of their plants, soil, and other products is top notch. They also have a lovely little store with local food, honey, and other products. Everything is reasonably priced and comparable to other garden centers -- I also love that they sell the same kind of plants in various sizes and number increments so you don't have to buy way more than you actually need! Overall, I rate Martin's as a garden wonderland and can't recommend them enough

Yelp
Martin's Unethical business practices has lost not only my support but all future referrals. PURCHASE AT YOUR OWN RISK! This establishment does not back up their employee's word. At time of purchase, I had asked an employee if I had a problem with a plant that was visibly in distress. Thinking I could rehabilitate the plant after it got planted & cared for, could I exchange or receive credit for another. I was reassured I would be able. Trusting the information I chose to purchase the plant. After two weeks, the plant was unable to recover, but only got worse. When I returned less than two weeks later I was denied exchange as previously informed. Not only was I denied the exchange, but was accused by management of not telling the truth. What ever happened to "the customer is always right" when it comes to customer service. This is not a business I would trust again.

Yelp
Great selection of plants , trees etc . Staff are very knowledgeable , friendly & helpful. Prices are a bit higher, but the quality is so worth it. I would definitely recommend & I will return in the near future .

Yelp
I've loved Martins ever since I've moved here. The staff is amazing and the quality of their plants are like no other. Amazing selection of garden/yard decor as well. Love it!

Yelp
This is one of Middle Tennessee's best locally-owned nurseries. Packed with indoor plants, perennials, annuals, trees, shrubs, and landscaping essentials, you too will leave impressed by their wide variety. They also have a marketplace with home decor, gifts, and locally sourced produce. They have been opened since 1982 and continue to grow more and more. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, too. If you follow them on social media or check out their website, they oftentimes post plant tips, tutorials, and give-aways. They also have a rewards program (phone number) where you get points for each purchase. Around fall/winter, they also carry seasonal goods. It is perfect for the whole family, large with much variety, and there is always something new to check out. If you have a green thumb, or don't, you must go!

Yelp
I have loved going to this garden center for years. I love that it is a family owned business and they work so hard to grow a lot of their own flowers. I've seen how hard they work year round to prepare for each season of flowers. It is a beautiful business run by a beautiful family. Proud to know them.

Yelp
I have changed my review rating from one star to a five star rating. I bought 3 Cherry trees (fruit bearing) from them. Within two weeks, one of the trees died. The other two are doing great. When I explained this to one of the sales girls, she told me it was healthy when it left the store and they couldn't do anything about it. I wasted my time going back there expecting them to remedy the situation, but I won't waste my money ever again at Martins. I've spent over 3K there in the past 4 years. UPDATE: I did go back because my wife and I were looking for a particaliar plant that no one else had locally and I wasn't going to cut my nose off to spite my face by not checking at Martins as a last resort. I started talking to a gentleman and he seemed very knowledgeable. So I asked if he was the owner. No, ... but he was the manager. I told him about how the tree had died. He explained why it probably died (not my fault) and he gave me a full credit for the amount of the tree. Moral of the story, ask for a manager if you have problems.

Yelp
Loved getting to visit Martin's. They have a beautiful selection of plants and accessories. The staff is very knowledgeable and I love the informational videos they post on instagram. Instagram is actually how I found out about them. I bought a beautiful string of hearts pot that are still thriving.

Yelp
I found a small planter that I just fell in love with here and i took it up to the planting station, and Sarah Ramsey was super sweet and helpful. Picked a succulent out for me, planted it in my new pot and I love it..

Yelp
Huge indoor and outdoor facility. Gorgeous options at affordable prices. Martin's is a must visit place.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying I am not a gardener. Not only do I NOT have a green thumb, I have a brown one. Everything I touch dies. I am writing this from my wife's perspective. While she is not a master gardener, she is just a few credits short of her certified nurseryman's certificate. She has worked in a "know and grow" center as a consultant at a large home garden store in another state. She heads the flower guild at our church and has done many consultations about what people should plant at their homes. I have always found them to be helpful for me - a rank novice. My wife trusts them implicitly. Enough said. Go there.

Yelp
This is my go to place for all my planting needs. They offer a wide variety of plants from flowers, vegetables, decorative plants and outdoor adornments. They are good about giving advice regarding plants as well. The plants are always healthy.

Yelp
When my ex husband Maverick left me for a stewardess (NEVER FLY AIR FRANCE OR LET YOUR HUSBANDS FLY IT), I was very angry and at times borderline sad about the empty space in my home. My first psychiatrist suggested I buy some house plants and at the time I thought this was super rude and kind of an attack on my loneliness ( why does society have such an expectation that everybody wants companionship, I sure as hell don't) anyways at the time I was angry because I am many things, overweight sure, anger issues sometimes, but lonely? Never. Anyways I fired her for that remark but now over six years later, I decided that maybe she was right and it wouldn't be the worst thing to have a house plant. Anyways I loaded myself up into my new 2021 Honda Civic, THANKS maverick for the monthly divorce payments, I even got custom leather seats On his dime. Besides the point I came to the garden store with low expectations. My temper is short and I thought it one overly cheerful employee asks what brings me here today I sure as hell don't want their opinions on maverick. Anyways, my mood changed when this man Potted my plants for me, for about ten minutes I stopped feeling like a fire breathing dragon, and was delighted with his kind manner and customer service skills. He made my experience worth the while and you bet your bottom dollar I'll be back for more. Love you guys! Xoxo Sandra All cell do not worry I did ask him if he was comfortable with me taking his photograph for my review them and he said it was absolutely no problem I would never violet anybody's privacy

Yelp
My husband and I have always done business with Martin's and, although expensive, we have received quality plants. However, a few months ago we purchased trees and opted for Martin's to pick the trees out and be delivered and installed by Anthony, a landscaper they recommended. What a mess! The trees were crooked, ugly, and were not even planted in a straight line. There was no edge on the bed and even the bed itself wasn't straight. It literally looked like we installed them ourselves. When I got home I couldn't believe these were the trees and the outcome we paid for. Instead of owning up to the amateur work, Anthony blamed the quality of the trees, that they were obviously the "Leftovers" from Martin's. This really upsets me as we were NOT given leftover prices. Now, months later we are finally "fixing" what was done by calling out another landscaper and having to pay another lump sum to redo the mess that Anthony made and replace the bent trees that Martin's chose for us. Even the new landscaper couldn't believe this job was done by a professional. Very expensive and disappointing endeavor for sure.

Yelp
I have shopped at Martin's for as long as I can remember. I love going there even when I do not have plans to buy something. The employees are so knowledgeable, and you can tell that they love what they do. If I have a plant that is struggling, I can always go by and talk to one of their experts. Last summer, my sweet dog passed away unexpectedly. I wanted to plant a tree where he was buried. Even though it was the worst time to plant a tree, Rob helped me pick out the best one and told me all of the tips he knew of to help the tree survive the heat. I now have a beautiful magnolia tree as a marker for my sweet Duke that is thriving. In addition, I always go there first to get my gifts. Their Market is full of things that feel very personal and when I don't find something in there, I can always find a beautiful pot and houseplant. Last, but certainly not least, I am a teacher and they have even donated to my classroom to foster a love of agriculture in young people. I LOVE Martin's Home and Garden and you will too!!!!

Yelp
I tried to call these guys 3 times to have fill dirt/top soil delivered to my house. They could not figure out what they were doing or how to setup the delivery. I spoke to 3 different people and all of them dropped the ball. Terrible customer service

Yelp
Their plants and goods are beautiful, healthy and well-maintained. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This place is so beautiful I could spend all day there. They also offer locally sourced honey, fruits, vegetables and often other foods/goods. Martin's offers a frequent flyer card and I recommend getting it if you're a gardening junkie. There is nowhere better to go in the area.

Yelp
Love Martin's for my spring plants. Their selection is excellent and the plants are always healthy. If you hit them up early, many of their hostas and other perennials can be found in smaller, less-expensive containers.

Yelp
Definitely an all time favorite flower shop. The staff is friendly and makes me feel welcome! I try to go here a few times around each season to see what they have in store. The products change seasonally as the flowers go in and out, but they always have the best, which manages to surprise me all year round. Besides flowers, they provide nice home decor and lawn ornaments which are beautiful and I have a good amount for my house. Also located indoors with the home decor, is some lovely food choices. I defiantly recommend this business!

Yelp
What an incredible discovery; so close to home. The quality, variety and extreme level of customer service make this a great home and garden resource. Martin's product is healthy and beautiful and you can find anything available to be grown in our area, all in one stop. The customer service is impeccable; there is someone at every turn to assist with your questions, provide advice or alternative suggestions to enhance your vision. I highly recommend Martin's for the do-it-yourself gardner; you will be more successful.

Yelp
The folks here are very helpful. They have a huge selection of plants, trees and bushes. One guy spent 20 minutes helping us to find some plants that would work for our yard. Prices are reasonable. We easily spent close to 300 but we bought over 10 different bushes. Will be going back soon for some perennials.

Rob G.

Yelp
Great alternative to big box home center garden departments. Here you will find a wider variety, better quality and no shortage of helpful staff. Plus they put their people before $$$ and are closed Sunday's.

Yelp
I traveled 35 minutes one way to get to this place. Upon parking my car I walked in and grabbed a cart. I found two lavender plants and placed them in my cart. I spent 30 minutes going through the aisles and checking out the plants. Normally when you enter a business you are greeted at some point by someone who works at a business. NOT here. I passed by 8 different workers in blue t-shirts and not once was I said hello to or acknowledged by a member of staff. I decided that this is not a place I wanted to do business with. So I put my lavender back and parked my cart and was on my way to the exit when a man spoke to me and said "Are you doing o.k.?" while giving me the thumbs up sign. I said "yes" and returned the thumbs up sign back. A little too late is what I was thinking in my mind. I gathered that this shop is a "mom and pop" type of place. I always try to support the small business owner over big box retailers. But once I left Martin's I stopped by Home Depot and Lowe's garden centers and bought several plants. Even though each of these places had less people on the garden center floors I was asked at least twice at each place if I needed any help. I will never return to Martin's for any of my gardening needs.

Yelp
BUYERS BE WARE! Wow- sure wish that there was another place here in Murfreesboro that sold aquatic plants. 2 Weeks ago my husband and I went to Martins for some plants for our little water feature. The aquatic plants are definitely NOT cheep. The employee that was helping us said that some of the plants were kind of rough, but it was all that they had at the time. But, she assured us that if they died or what ever just to bring them back for a replacement or a refund. So, after spending close to $50.00 on these plants, we brought them home and put them in the pond. Today we finally made time to go back and take the $9.99 plant that died out back for the promised refund or exchange. The girl at the register said to go get the replacement, so we did. We got back to the register and showed her the receipt and told her again what happened. Yep- I was able to exchange the plant for one just like the other one and, IT ONLY COST ME 50% OF WHAT THE ORIGINAL ONE COST. So, not only was I able to replace the plant that I had originally paid $9.99. for just an ADDITIONAL $5.28, I was able to get the replacement plant that I had been told I could expect. WHAT THE.... From now on, I will not shop there again. PLEASE BE AWARE EVERYONE- YOU CAN GO TO LOWES OR HOME DEPOT AND THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR PLANTS FOR 1 YEAR FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE. AND IT WILL NOT COST YOU ANY ADDITIONAL MONEY IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE THEM BACK.
