My boyfriend and I have visited Marufuji twice now--once when it first opened and again after the initial hype had settled. I was hesitant to write a review the first time because many items were out of stock, and we didn't get to try much of the menu.
Thankfully, on our second visit, the experience was exactly what we had hoped for. When we walked in, we noticed a stand in the middle selling Wagyu burgers for $20, which piqued our interest (I wish I could've tried one, but I didn't, though the burger patties looked huge). This time around, the store was fully stocked with everything you'd expect.
The meats looked fresh, and the vegetables were vibrant and green. There are a few other stands in the back offering snacks like onigiri, skewers, and strawberry sandwiches. We tried the Teriyaki, Tuna Mayo, and Eel onigiri, but we both felt that they were mostly rice with too little filling.
From the restaurant, we ordered the Gyudon, which was surprisingly delicious. The beef was flavorful, and the portion size was great for the price. There's plenty of seating, and the staff is very efficient.
While Marufuji offers a variety of Japanese treats and snacks, I will say that many of these items can be found online or other grocery stores for a lower price.
