"In Lincoln Park, this new family-owned saloon named for the matriarch behind Butch McGuire’s spans two floors and features classic millwork, vintage antiques, 20 draft lines, tavern-style pizzas, and a full cocktail program, with the space also hosting live music, game-day gatherings, and private events." - Jeffy Mai

Mary Jo McGuire’s - Review - Lincoln Park - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Mary Jo McGuire’s comes from the same team behind one of Chicago’s most festive and long-lasting bars,Butch McGuire’s. Like its sibling, thisLincoln Parkspot has burgers, wings, and other handhelds like fried chicken sandwiches and BLTs—and of course, a penchant for maximalist decoration. Expect plenty of tinsel or shamrocks, depending on the season." - John Ringor

Definitely the little‑sister spot—less nostalgic, but still festive, and yes, there’s a train. The giardiniera pizza packs a serious punch, and bonus points for being open on Christmas Day.

Can't say enough great things about my visit here! I stopped in with some friends for the first time this past Saturday. We sat at the bar and our bartender, Bridget, was fantastic. Even though it was super busy, Bridget made sure to greet us and take care of our orders quickly. She was super personable and deliberately made time to engage with us in between taking care of other customers. She knew the menu inside and out and made great food and drink recommendations to us, and overall ensured we had a great experience from start to finish. This is definitely our new, go-to neighborhood spot, and we will be coming back on the regular. The staff, music, vibes, and menu impressed us beyond expectation.

I love this place so much already! The atmosphere is unreal. The owners are so nice and down to earth. Really cool family history, so thoughtfully put together and decorated. Overall awesome spot, the space is huge and fills up super nicely. Will definitely be returning!

Had an absolutely amazing experience at Mary Jo McGuire’s in Chicago thanks to our bartender Justin N. From the moment we walked in, he treated us, clearly out of town, with nothing but genuine respect, hospitality, and care. When my girlfriend started feeling her drink a little too much, Justin did not hesitate for a second. He brought over water, checked in on us, and even took the time to explain the entire train system so we could get home safely. That kind of attention and kindness is rare, especially in a big city bar. Justin made a couple of Southern folk feel like Chicago was not so intimidating after all. We will absolutely be coming back to this bar just because of him. Could not recommend Mary Jo McGuire’s and Justin more.

Trivia on Wednesdays is awesome. The host Maya seriously brought so much energy. Delish chicken Cesar wrap too! Once of the best I’ve had in Chicago.

A solid bar, good food. Trivia on Wednesday nights is awesome and the host Maya brought the house down! Will be back. Come early… seats fill.

Went here past Saturday 10/18 for the Mizzou football game. Bar charged cover at 5:30PM. The bar ran out of bottles of beer in the 3rd quarter. In hindsight, it was a blessing since they were charging 40 bucks a bucket. The space is nice, but this is not a gameday bar. Pizza was good. We were double charged for chicken tenders, and those things were mid.

Cold beer, good bites, and that old Chicago charm you can’t fake. The bartenders were friendly, knew their stuff, and poured me the best Guinness in Chicago. Good music at just the right volume. Managers treated guests like family. Good men.

Yelp
Came here on a late Sunday afternoon. Lots of seating at the bar, good service. Similar ambiance to butch mcguires obviously. (I wonder if they will do Christmas lights!) they also have touch tunes which is always fun. The food: pizza was OK. Could have been cooked a little longer or the crust a tad thinner. We also got the Caesar salad chicken wrap. It was so good! And the spicy garlic sauce is 10/10. Would come back just for that.

Yelp
Bar has so much potential. I went on opening weekend so probs will be awesome soon. Lots of space and wasn't so packed that I felt claustrophobic. A couple of notes about some areas of opportunity: - line was unnecessarily long and had cash only cover (no atm there but there is one across the street) - took 20+ mins to get a drink (maybe would hire more bartenders) - music was not working upstairs. Like the speakers were on but it wasn't loud enough? -pricey drinks given that there was a cover and this is Lincoln park

Yelp
Maybe we stopped by on the wrong day, but we were a little disappointed. The holiday decorations were beautiful which is what attracted us to this spot as we were on our way to king of cups. We were really looking forward to a hot drink (given how cold it was out), however, they said they weren't serving any hot drinks because it was "blackout Wednesday." We ended up ordering our usual drinks, old fashioned, margarita, and an espresso martini. The drinks were just ok but definitely not worth the price ($15-17 each). The bar was also really empty so we ended up going elsewhere after. A $17 espresso martini served in a plastic cup was kind of funny though.

Yelp
Came on a weeknight with some friends to watch the Packer game. Overall, had a good experience! Bartenders were nice. Seating was easy. Christmas decorations were adorable. Cannot speak to the food but overall enjoyed my experience!

Yelp
Hey! This used to be Lincoln Park Pizza Station. Remember that! This is from the people that's behind Butch McGuire's that's in Gold Coast. I had their fries. The staff and service is mcguireful.

Yelp
really really good pizza and great vibes. dare I say it's better than the original Butch McGuire's? blasphemy, I know. I have been a regular at Butches for years it is so refreshing to see a bar of that caliber in a new context. there is so much more space and the same wonderful atmosphere. the live music is the cherry on top. Mary Jos is good in my book!
