All the Dallas Restaurant Openings, July 2025 | Eater Dallas

"Looking for hot chicken in Arlington? Search no more, restaurateur and caterer Eddie Deen opened a spot for that craving. The restaurant is named after his mom, CultureMap Dallas reports , and in addition to fried chicken, this spot has killer cinnamon rolls. There are also fried chicken pickle sticks (chicken and pickles served on skewers), tenders, wings, yeast rolls by the dozen and half dozen, and dough babies — little roll-like desserts with a doughnut-like glaze." - Courtney E. Smith

This is a hidden gem! Tic Tok brought got me there but that chicken will keep me coming back. The chicken was hot and fresh. It was made to order and didn’t take forever. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. Dee, my cashier from Alabama, was attentive and patient. His best friend from Baltimore would agree. I enjoyed the hot honey sauce. It was tasty but not overpowering. I’m not a fan of the mayonnaise based sauce, the chicken is so good I don’t need it. Kevin (I think that was the owner’s name) was even at the door greeting patrons as they entered and he took the time to make sure everyone was satisfied. The restroom was even clean. Way to go!! Keep up p the excellent work and watch blessings overflow. 🙏🏾 I Will return!!

I stopped in after taking a tour of cowboys stadium and this place absolutely knocked my socks off! My first bite was of the yeast roll and that set the stage for everything else to come. The 4-piece tenders with sauce were amazing on their own, but when dipped into the signature sauce it took them to the next level. The fries were seasoned amazingly, THE PICKLE was sweet and tasty, and I’m not a fan of pickles. Dee was manning the register and was super friendly and helpful. DONT THINK TWICE, JUST COME!!

Google
Some of the best tenders around. Got the hot and sweet combo with fries, a roll, and a pickle...and it was awesome! The rolls are amazingly soft and sweet with salty butter, probably some of the best I've had. I had to get an order of Dough Babies because everyone raved about them and was not disappointed. Take the rolls and add some honey glaze. I had to keep from eating the whole box! To top it off, the strawberry lemonade was too good! Outstanding food, atmosphere, and service. I'll definitely be back!

Google
Nashville sweet & spicy! Great flavor and solid crunch with each bite. Get the Mac & cheese as a side since they make it right. The rolls are amazing and made fresh but OH MY GOODNESS do you need to get the dough baby! It’s like a beignet, Krispy Kreme, and honey bun all rolled into one warm, gooey, roll. The atmosphere is great and the staff is super friendly. Easily the best chicken around here. Talk to Kevin and he will hook you up!

Google
Came in strictly for the dough babies after watching a video on social media and craving something sweet. Tried the chicken that was fried to perfection. The bun has to be homemade. Soft, delectable and brush with butter. Now the dough babies were so good im mad I only made a order for 1 🔥

This spot was on point.... The watermelon-strawberry lemonade was life itself and the food was fresh and flavorful. Plenty of warm smiling faces and people that seemed like they want to be there. Extremely vet-friendly establishment too (gotta look out for my vets). Everything had soul; even the coleslaw, which I can't stand (because everyone makes it differently); not only was I able to eat the coleslaw, I finished it off.... I greatly appreciate the Co-owner for sitting down and conversing with me. He gave insightful information stemming from the company's origin to the company's direction moving forward. I was so blown away I had to order a second time to take home to the fam. Excellent experience. I will be back.

Google
This place is amazing!!! Its Chick-fil-A, Caine and Dave's Hot Chicken all rolled into one. In the shadows of AT&T Stadium, it's a great place to watch the Cowboys games and or be apart of gameday tail gating. The food was great and the dough babies are a must have. 5 stars all day!! The service is just as good as the food, from the Mgr Kevin on down. This was a great 1st experience at Mary Sue's. I will be back frequently, lol

If you’re ever in the Arlington area, this place is a must try! Second time eating there and it does not disappoint. One of my favorite sides is the Mac n cheese! The dough baby bread is amazing & the chicken bites are finger lickin good 😋 don’t walk, run!

Yelp
I saw this place for the first time on Saturday while getting my tires changed. It was early, so it hadn't opened yet. I went back on yesterday and the food was good...The Mac & Cheese was my favorite. I got the #1 Nashville Rub. It wasn't as hot/spicy as I thought it would be. I didn't care for the pickle at all...too sweet for me. The gentlemen at the counter was very helpful and the place was clean. I like the fact that I could see into the kitchen to check the cleanliness of where the food was being prepared.

Yelp
I'm seriously impressed with this little gem I stumbled across on Uber Eats! I was just looking for something quick and tasty for lunch, and this spot did not disappoint. I ordered the Nashville Sweet & Spicy Tender Bites meal, which came with fries, a roll, sweet & spicy pickle, and a drink. The tenders were crispy and flavorful, but that pickle? It brought everything together in such a surprisingly good way; an unexpected combo that totally worked. This place won me over on the first try, and I'm already planning my next order. Definitely adding this to my regular lunch rotation!

Yelp
I stopped by during lunch. The lunch crowd seemed to be very steady. I probably waited about 20 mins for my food. Darnisha helped me place my order. Even though there were a few people in line she was so patient taking my order. It was my first time visiting their establishment, and I asked her a few questions. She didn't rush at all. She took her time to go over the popular choices and drinks from the menu. Even telling us the history behind the business. She had excellent customer service skills. I went with the Mary Sue's #1. I got my chicken dry and added the sweet and spicy sauce on the side. I went with mac and cheese as my side order. For my drink I saw everyone ordering the watermelon strawberry lemonade, and I got that as well. That drink was so good!!! It wasn't even that sweet which makes it perfect. Very refreshing! My meal was fresh, and I love how they give you ranch and honey mustard sauce to go along with your meal. I particular wasn't a fan of the sweet and spicy sauce. The Mac and cheese tasted good, not the best I've had. I did really like the taste of the Nashville dry chicken. Inside was clean with a good amount of seating. Even the other employee that gave me my meal was very sweet! I'll definitely be back to try their dough babies!!

Yelp
I came in just to grab some sides, and the experience was disappointing from start to finish. When I walked up, there was a man sitting outside the restaurant, sizing people up as they came in. He even made a noise at the woman ahead of me -- already uncomfortable. Inside, the service was just as bad. The cashier was rude and inattentive for no reason. I asked if they offered whole pieces of chicken, and she looked at me sideways and replied, "We only got a 1, 2, or 3 combo." Before I could finish ordering, she cut me off, repeated back my order, and gave me the total. At that same moment, another staff member shouted across the counter, "We ain't got no mo' macaroni and cheese! Don't order no mo'." At that point, I decided my peace was more important than forcing it. I walked out without ordering anything -- and I won't be back. It's frustrating to see Black-owned businesses think great food alone is enough. To last, you need customer service and professionalism too. 0/10 I don't recommend.

Yelp
We happened to be around the area and were curious to see what the buzz was about . The menu was simple , and straight forward . We got an 8 piece combo each ( chicken bites were about nugget size ) with seasoned fries , and mac and cheese as the side . The chicken was juicy , tender , and flavorful . The mac and cheese was so freaking good, and seasoned just right . The fries were also perfect ! The strawberry watermelon lemonade was refreshing and with the perfect balance of sweetness. I have to say the show stoppers were probably the dough babies .... Think beignet & a glazed donut made a baby.... So freaking good !!!!! Will definitely be back !

Yelp
Today we happened to luck up on an experience of a lifetime. We stumbled upon this unexpected diamond in the rough as we were getting our tires rotated at Discount Tire in order to continue our excursion to Colorado. We entered and were immediately greeted by Kevin who was very customer service oriented and extremely hospitable. We felt like we were the strangers "invited to a family cookout" and became part of the Family. He allowed us to try their Macaroni and cheese, chicken tender bites, and personalized pickles. They were so very delicious that they tickled the taste buds. The Mac and cheese was creamy and seasoned, the pickles were drizzled in a delectable jalapeno honey base with spices, the chicken tenders were juicy and flavorful. I would have ordered everything that we tasted but we literally just had lunch at another restaurant prior to entering . However, we did have space for some dessert so we ordered Dough babies and cinnamon rolls. OMG!!! the DOUGH BABIES were melt in your mouth better than Krispy Kreme originals with the "HOT" light on!!! The cinnamon rolls were better than Cinnabon bakery company. This place is OUTSTANDING and that wasn't even the best part of the experience. The owner (Mr. Eddie Deen) happened to be visiting so I took the opportunity to ask him "What is the concept behind Mary Sue's?" I was expecting him to say something like this was my mothers dream or my wife's dream to put that soulful feeling back into all of the dishes that we hold near and dear to our hearts. Oh boy...Was I wrong. We (Kevin, Eddie, my wife and I) ended up having a 30 minute dialogue about their concept of "WHO ARE YOU BECOMING"!! It turns out that the concept of Mary Sue's is one of helping everyone define their customer which in turn helps their vision ultimately identifying their purpose. I was BLOWN AWAY. Kevin also talked about the essence of the soul and the spiritual connection through repetition and cognitive remembrance. This was fascinating to me and very refreshing. The mission and vision of this establishment is so inspiring. Do yourself a favor and visit this place. Indulge in some fantastic food and you can also learn that.... When a person, no matter their age, learns that they can serve others through their vision and work, they don't just pass tests. "They find themselves." Thank you Eddie and Kevin for continuing to educate, inspire and "FIND THE CUSTOMER"

Yelp
Ok, I like this place. I'll definitely come back. I tried the wet chicken and pickle sticks, Mac & cheese, and dough babies. The only reason why I went with 4 stars instead of 5 is because everything was swimming in sauce. I prefer no swimming food but I get some people love that. If I get the chicken again I'll get the dry rub. I wanted spicy so I chose wet but it's messy and I don't like that. The pickle was not a dill pickle so that kinda caught me off guard but I still liked it. I love all pickles so there is that. The Mary Sue sauce is good and had I gotten the dry rub instead of the wet, I think I could have appreciated it better. The dough boys were amazing and yummy but also swimming in glaze. They're huge...I got 3 but wish I had gotten 1. Mac & cheese was good. I like a bit more chew to my noodles but the flavor and seasoning were spot on. Like I said, I'll go back. It was good.

Yelp
Food was to die for especially the rolls and dough babies. Chicken and Mac and cheese were excellent also. You got to try the watermelon lemonade and the strawberry lemonade. Chef's kiss.

Yelp
I was going to include a picture, but I couldn't stop myself from eating it all so fast and completely forgot. I believe I got to meet the owner Kevin, he was at the register and was so kind and friendly from the beginning and just welcoming. It was like we'd always been friends !! So much flavor and fried to perfection, the rolls were sweet, buttery, and fluffy. DONT FORGET ABOUT THEM DOUGH BABIES NOW!! I know I won't! 10/10 experience, go ahead and open up a shop in Austin :D

Yelp
Man I enjoyed the experience I had for my first time. The whole staff was friendly, attentive, and very polite. The food is great and the guy that works there also gave me a free dough boy on the house cause he wanted me to try it and it was delicious. Definitely will come back with my friends and put them on to some good grub with great service. Good job Mary Sues staff !

Jarod L.

Yelp
The food is incredible! Mac & cheese, Nashville sweet and spicy chicken tender bites and the pickle spear is delicious and the signature sauce is unreal! You have to try the strawberry watermelon lemonade and treat yourself with some dough bites for dessert! Will definitely be back!

Crystal M.

Yelp
I enjoyed my food purchase. I had the 8 piece tender bites and the dough bites. It was an amazing experience. I tired their specialty tea and it was great! I will be back!

Amy A.

Yelp
Great food and customer service. The dough baby's are a must try. Everything tasted fresh and hot. 10/10 recommend.

Mariano C.

Yelp
Mid at best , food gets 5/10 . Bite size chicken tenders looked/tasted like any regular frozen chicken . For being Nashville chicken I thought it would have a lot more flavor . Fries were ehhhh . Ranch was super watery , Rolls were probably the best thing they had .

Dezirae H.
