"Hamburger Mary’s in Andersonville is using one of the burger bar’s most valued resources to help its carryout business. Drag queens, a familiar sight at the LGBTQ-themed restaurant, are now being deployed to drop off orders to vehicles parked outside." - Ashok Selvam

"Known for its drag events and creative burgers, Hamburger Mary’s Chicago is a one-stop spot for fabulous food and entertainment. The “Hula Girl” burger, for instance, is piled high with two types of cheese, pineapple chutney, and a teriyaki glaze. Don’t forget to tip your queens." - Naomi Waxman, Eater Staff

"Andersonville regulars love to both grab patties from Hamburger Mary’s downstairs and climb the nearly-vertical stairs to the restaurant’s beloved second-floor venue, Mary’s Attic. The intimate upstairs joint throws all kinds of events, from retro dance parties to stand-up comedy to drag shows. Thursdays and Sundays are karaoke nights (dubbed “MaryOke”), so don’t forget to do vocal warm-ups." - Grace Perry

Yaaaaas I loved this place! Great show, drag bingo was a blast and the crowd really had a good time. Nothing but love for granny and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the soft pretzel and beer cheese dip, o.m.g!

Cool little entertainment venue above Hamburger Mary's. They have a small selection of bar bites, well-priced drinks and a cool crowd. I saw a live performance of Buffy's Once More With Feeling here and it was so clever and funny. Will definitely be on the lookout for other fun performances!

This place is probably fine as a bar. But as a restaurant? Laughable. 4 of us went to eat. All orders were wrong. 1 poor girl running the bar and the floor for 25 people. Food was mediocre. Dessert was good. Ugly fat man in drag was not the best first impression to make. Gender free bathrooms with very low toilets means even guys might have to squat to pre. Won't be back.

First -- I want to say the waitress we had was great-- but a major problem was that she had over 20 tables and was overwhelmed. This meant we had to wait to order, wait (a lot) for her to attend to other tables before we got ketchup, a to-go-container, a bag for the container... all in all, on a day when we had business to do and places to go, this probably added over a half hour. The burger was fine, nothing special. The six small chicken tenders were $9.95, and the small container of ranch dressing about enough for 2 of them, which I'd call a ripoff.

EDITED TO REFLECT NEW INFO FROM OWNER Cancels flannel Friday- one of the very few events meant for queer women in the entire city- in favor of events directed towards men with 0 warning or change to their website. Really big bummer, as the first time I went to flannel Friday it was amazing and the second and third times it said flannel Friday was happening on the website but the space was being used for other events and there were like five women there. Come on guys, what are we chopped liver?

I come here to karaoke and see shows. Love the DJs, the bartenders, and the stage. The crowds always the perfect size and the people range from chill to turnt. I dig it!

Saw Krampus here last winter, but still haven't gotten to enjoy any drag. Great place and has a bar.

I've seen a couple of shows here that were really good. I don't like when there's a dancing event here though, it gets VERY crowded and AC wasn't working.
